Kagome was restless in the bedroom she was sharing with Sango staring up at the ceiling from the futon she laid on.
Night was the hardest, when there was nothing to do except pick at small pieces of the seal they were focusing on that day.
Two were ready to break and more than likely would be by morning. Feeling both Kikyo and Mirokus energies mingle with hers she closed her eyes.
She missed lying next to her husband, feeling a small body come between them as Inuyasha wiggled his way in to their bed at night when he had a bad dream or just because he wanted to be close to them.
Taking a deep breath she could almost smell him, her little boy who had the most beautiful golden eyes and brightest smile that had little fangs poking out through his lips.
Rin and Shippo were with him as well as Ayame. They were all safe and sound at home, which is where she wished she was as she dozed off.
Being shaken awake suddenly she sat up quickly to stare at Sango.
"What is it?" She asked with Sango bringing a finger up to her own lips. Beckoning Kagome to follow her they went to the door to the hallway.
Cracking it open slightly they sat down with their backs to the wall. Sango put her hand to her ear in a 'listen' gesture.
"What of the seals?" Lord Kimuyra could be heard from down the corridor somewhere just barely.
"Holding my lord. With how many we have here ours is stronger than ever." Another man said.
"Do you not think it odd that two women from dismantled houses came to us within a short span of time?" A third questioned.
Kagome glanced at Sango who kept her eyes trained ahead of her.
"We could say the same thing for anyone of you, was your household not nearly taken down as well Lord Toshio?" Kimuyra queried.
"It was merely an observation my Lord Kimuyra. No harm was meant."
"The women came to us for assistance. In this time we need to stand strong together, as humans against the scourge of demons polluting this land." Kimuyra answered with force behind his words.
Kagome shook her head and moved away from the door. Sitting on the futon she closed her eyes reaching out to Sesshomaru.
With in the slaves row Sesshomaru felt his wife's energy surround him causing him to smirk. Closing his eyes he embraced her aura with his own.
'My little one.' He projected to her.
'My love.' She replied. 'I miss you. I need you.'
'I know Kagome, I feel the same. My days are empty without you, without our children.' Sesshomaru admitted.
'Yes, same. Tomorrow I am coming to see you. I will find a way to spend time with you, just us.'
'As long as it does not cause suspicion then I will be waiting for you wife.'
'We got away with it before, besides you are my property. It wouldn't be unheard of to check on what is mine.'
'Given enough time and I will make certain you remember whom you being too.'
'I look forward to it then. Sleep well dearest. I love you.'
'Until tomorrow.' Opening his lids as the connection disconnected between them he sighed out. Looking around the space he was staying in it served as a reminder as to how far they had come.
Hearing a rapping on the door panel he turned towards it.
"Enter." He said keeping his tone even and calm but in no way submissive. That was a thing of the past. Kohaku came in led by Koga. Closing the door behind them to ensure privacy the wolf crossed his arms over his front.
"The human's making demands." Koga said sounding annoyed.
"Such as?" Sesshomaru questioned looking at Kohaku.
"Kagura is my mate. It came to my attention that you have a human woman as yours. I hope that you understand my position somewhat." He said.
"Go on."
"When Bankotsu realizes that Kagura is not pregnant he will bring in another demon to do so. I can't allow it to happen any longer. I will exercise my right as her husband and impregnate her but if anyone were to find out…"
"That's quite the risk you're taking." Koga commented.
"You wish for protection for your mate and unborn child." Sesshomaru said.
"Yes. Miroku stated that in six months time or less the compound should be liberated. That is more than enough time to make sure we find somewhere safe to go for her to have our child."
Sesshomaru mulled over what he had said. It had not been so long ago he and Kagome were in a predicament of their own with her arranged marriage.
"Alright. You have my word that regardless of either of your participation in what it is to come I will see your wife and child are protected."
"Thank you. Kagura has agreed to lend her hand and work with you. Koga and I will do what we can."
"Very good." Watching as Kohaku left he caught the snide grin on Kogas face. "What is it?"
"Your wife's gonna love this plan." Cackling to himself her exited as well leaving Sesshomaru to analyze what their best course of action will be.
