As disturbing as her dream had been Miroku assured her that that was all it had been.

"Narakus demonic powers were sealed when I burned the mark in to his back from my staff." Miroku explained. "In order to manipulate your dreams he would need access to that energy. One of us would have felt it."

"It was so real, just like this right now. It was as if I was there. I could feel him." Kagome said softly.

"That does not make it any less real Lady Kagome. What you suffered at that creatures hands was horrific. It is no wonder given recent circumstances that perhaps he is a subconscious part of you that is internalizing your fears." Kikyo offered.

"Maybe." Sighing Kagome took a breath. "Whatever it was it put me on edge. I think that I'm going to go for a walk."

"Would you like an escort?" Miroku asked.

"No thank you master Miroku. Some fresh air will do me good." Standing Kagome offered a small smirk. "Besides, I should check on my…demons."

"Master Miroku and I will continue with our daily training and prayers." Kikyo said taking out the beads she used when they worked on the seals.

"Yes Lady Kikyo. I hope to join you later on in the day." Exiting she walked down the hall internally groaning when she saw Lord Kimuyra coming towards her.

"Lady Higurashi." He greeted.

"My lord, please, just call me Kagome. My household is gone. I am no longer a lady of any standing." She bowed respectfully as she spoke.

"Nonsense my lady. You are and always will be one of our oldest families within this region. With that comes due respect." Kimuyra said.

"Forgive me my lord but I do not recall ever hearing of your compound until recently when we sought refuge here." Kagome decided to take the opportunity that had presented itself.

Sesshomaru had relayed his doubts to her about who this human was. When she thought about it she too realized she had never heard of any Kimuyra clan in her lifetime.

"The name was adapted with in my generation. You see Lady Higurashi, these are trying times and we must adapt as we see fit. Do you not agree?"

"More than you know." Kagome replied.

"The surname is from an ancestor, I made the decision to use it once again as my compound also was mutinied against and razed." He replied. "We were fortunate however to escape death. In turn I sentenced the slaves to be executed."

"All of the demons you had here?" Kagome felt her breath still in her chest.

"It was no easy task mind you. They went berserk, feral, as is their nature to do so." He continued. "Eventually the entire lot had to be culled which was bad for business as this household was renowned for auctioning and trading of demons."

Biting down hard on her tongue she knew her eyes were as wide as saucers.

"Fortunately you and others have brought your merchandise here. I hear your dog demon has bred. You will fetch a good price for any pup that one sires."

All she wanted to do was run, or vomit. Resisting the urge to place a hand against her stomach she cleared her throat.

"Yes. My lord if you will excuse me I am going to take a walk." She controlled the shake in her tone as he gave her a short bow.

"Of course my lady. Do not let me keep you." He said. Bowing as well Kagome walked past him as if she didn't feel like the world was collapsing around her.

Feeling her chest tighten she had to find Sesshomaru. She had to make sure her husband was alright. Sniffling when she got outside and wiping her eyes she fought the sob that threatened to erupt from her throat.

Walking stiffly she barely registered her surroundings as she made her way to the rows of falling apart hovels. Breathing heavily she managed to get to the first few huts before stopping.

"Hey, are you alright Lady Kagome?" She heard a woman ask. Turning she saw the female Kagura coming towards her.

"I can't breathe." She managed before collapsing.

"Hey!" Kagura shouted grasping her by the shoulders as she fell in a kneeling position. "Oh hell." Seeing she had passed out Kagura glanced around before dragging her in to her hut.

Managing to get her onto the futon she wet a cloth placing it to her forehead. The human didn't look well. As her eye lids fluttered open Kagome let out a small groan.

"Welcome back." Kagura said softly. Sitting up slowly Kagura got her some water.

"Thank you." Kagome whispered out. Sighing as she sipped at the water she glanced at Kagura. "I'm sorry for putting you out like this. I was looking for Sesshomaru."

"He's in the metal yard with the others at this time. Risky coming out here to see your demon. Don't you worry my lady, he is being well taken care of." Kagura teased.

"What exactly is that supposed to mean?" Kagome narrowed her eyes and tensed. Kagura smirked matching her glare.

"Ah, so you are the human wife. Apologies. I didn't know." She said standing to wring the cloth out. "Tell me, what got you so worked up that you passed out on my doorstep?"

Closing her eyes Kagome gripped the wooden cup she held and felt the sting of what that wretched man had said.

"Kimuyra, he executed all of the demons that lived here when they revolted." Kagome forced out.

"What?" Turning to her Kaguras red orbs were wide. Nodding her head quickly swallowed hard.

"Who does something like that?" Kagome wondered to herself. Giving a humorless laugh Kagura crossed her arms over her chest.

"To most of the humans us demons are nothing. People like you are rare.

"I like to think that maybe there are more of us but they're fearful of what could happen or don't know how to help." Kagome said. "That is how I felt at first, like I was powerless to do anything until I found that I could."

"Sesshomaru has said very little but I know that the two of you have been married for quite some time now."

"We have. We've been so happy. Everyone deserves to be as happy we have been." Turning to Kagura Kagome gave a small half smile. "That's why we're here."

"Thank you. I'm pregnant you know, with my lovers child. I am hopeful that by the time I give birth we'll be far away from here."

"No matter what happens I'll make sure of it." Kagome stated determinedly. "There is no way you'll have your baby here."

"Again, thanks."

"You're welcome." With a small shrug she stood. "Thanks for the water and helping me."

"No problem. You should head back to the mansion. I'll let your mate know you were looking for him."

"Alright. I appreciate that. Let me know if there is anything I can do."

"Will do." Watching as the human exited she went back about her day as if nothing had happened.
