Caroline/Elena
While others may stay or not is a possibility but Caroline/Elena will stay because this is the most important relationship for the story that I am going to tell

"Oh you're feeling like yourself again right. So tell me, does saving a monster is what makes you feel like you again" He tilts his head as he questions her.

"No. Standing up and fighting back is what does."

"Good" he says as he advances towards Elena and reaches for her throat. Elena pushes him away and somehow has the strength to not just push him away from her but to make him fall to the ground. He gets up and is about to attack her again when Elijah holds him back. Elena advances towards Klaus but Rebekah holds her back grasping her waist and locking her arms under hers.

Not that Elena is a threat to Klaus but Rebekah has been paying attention, first compulsion didn't work on her and now she pushed her brother away with some inhuman strength of hers.

"You, I saved you from them, when did you gain this much strength to fight back huh?"

"I didn't want to be saved Klaus, I was punishing myself that is why I went to them myself, I went to them willingly but you killed all of them and despite them anyone who wants worse of me, is you. So I let you take me."

Her revelation shocks Elijah but not Klaus, he is just as furious as he was a moment ago.

"And you should. You should" he says, "You're the reason she is dead, there is no punishment on this earth that can make up for it."

"I am the reason she is done" she repeats, sarcasm laced in her tone mixed with the pain that comes on being reminded of her.

"I am the reason she is dead" she repeats, this time shock, satire, pain engulfed in tone.

She breaks free from Rebekah's hold and keeping a hand over her heart she says, "I am not the reason she is dead. I had loved her since the first grade, she was my best friend. You have known her for two years. I have known her for two decades; you think her death doesn't affect me. It affects me way more than you can imagine, but how would you know, you failed to love the woman who raised you, fed you and loved you, yet you killed her because you couldn't have your obsession, your hybrid. She was just another obsession, you never loved her."

"Did you?" he questions back, his hybrid eyes showing.

"If you hate me so much, why did you save me?"

Klaus lets out a mocking chuckle, he has freed himself from Elijah's hold too and both Rebekah and Elijah are watching, just holding back, lest these two attack each other again.

"As you said earlier love, for my obsession with the hybrids and then as you added, the worse thing for you left on this planet is me."

Elijah decides he will not let any harm come to Elena no matter what his brother tries, he will protect her, always.

"Well too sad Klaus, the thing is, I am done punishing myself for the things which are not my fault. And I sure as hell am not letting anyone hurt me anymore because I don't deserve it, and most of all you, because you have no right to hurt me, not anymore than you had the right hurt anyone on this planet."

Unbeknown to the rest of the family, Kol had gained consciousness.

"It is your fault" Klaus yells at his loudest, "If only you would have…." Klaus isn't able to finish the sentence and Kol has blurred away with Elena.

Klaus turns to Elijah, "Get your witches find her, we need to find her before Kol turns her."

Elijah is speculating and he is thinking that maybe if Kol turns her, she would be safer, she would be saved from Niklaus' cruel intentions to use her as a blood bag. But then he thinks, is she mentally stable, first she let those humans hurt her willingly, she didn't fight back what if the vampirism magnifies that part of her.

Although her saying that she doesn't want to be hurt anymore is a good sign, but still her past behavior shows, she might still be unstable at the core. Elijah quickly calls his witches on the cell and asks them to perform a locator spell on Elena.

Elena is in a café cum bar, Kol has ordered drinks for two. Elena is surprised because just a few minutes ago Kol was ready to turn her and now here he is ordering drinks for him and the lady, pointing towards her.

"Why the nice treatment?" she questions.

Kol grins and tells her, "Oh don't be in a rush darling, that will happen when I want it to happen."

He looks at the menu and orders pastries for them both.

Elena looks at him wondering. Kol doesn't misses the surprise look that she is giving him, so he tells her, "Oh, surprised right, why the treat and all. See, you, removed the dagger from my chest, the treat is for that and when I woke up I heard Niklaus blame you for something, I would really like to know what you did to piss him off. See I love pissing my brother off more than anything."

Kol was cheerful while Elena was just back to herself, not totally back to herself, but back to the same girl that she became after her parents died. She looks down at the puff pastry placed before her, "I didn't do anything to piss off Klaus. Things happened and your brother got upset."

Kol has stuffed half of the pastry in his mouth, "Yes that is what I want to know, why is he upset, or how?"

Elena looks up at him and asks, "How long have you been daggered?"

Kol rolls his eyes, then sips water from the glass kept next to him to down the pastry so he could speak without food in his mouth.

"See, the last thing I remember is that Elijah made me and Rebekah give word that if you agree to give Niklaus to us we won't wake him in your or your children's life. Then you agreed to it but Alaric reached their first, Rebekah assumed Niklaus died and she drove you off the wikery bridge and then Nik returned another day and put a dagger in my heart."

The waiter serves them drinks, Elena sips her drink and tells him, "So you know nothing that happened thereafter."

Kol again has pastry stuffed in his mouth when he says, "That is why I brought you here. You can tell me while we eat."

Elena takes another sip of the drink and blinks back her tears. "Fine" she says, "I will tell you everything that happened there on."

Kol looks at her pastry still untouched and asks, "Are you going to eat that?"

Elena looks at the pastry and then shakes her hea.

After gulping down the pastry he asks, "I heard you loved you pastries" he assesses her, then says, "Oh, still in the self punishing phase, aren't you, just that you don't want to let others hurt you, you will be doing that yourself, wouldn't you."

Elena takes another sip from her drink, "You want to hear what happened after that right."

Kol slides her pastry towards him and digs his spoon into it, "By all means darling, do tell, I am curious."
