Ener-D Thieves

Chapter 3: Return of the Tech Genius

Over the night, Kalin had a strange vision where he was in an icy temple. A giant three-headed dragon stood within it. It looked menacing, to say the least.

The dragon looked down at him. "Kalin Kessler. I am need of your services."

Kalin stared up at it in confusion. "Who are you? How do you know my name?"

"I am Trishula," the dragon hissed. "Kalin Kessler, I am need of your services."

"Trishula? What sort of services?" asked Kalin.

"You will need to wield my card in an upcoming conflict," replied Trishula.

"You mean the gang who are after the Ener-D technology?" wondered Kalin.

"Perhaps. Are you up to the task?" offered Trishula.

Kalin thought for a minute before looking up at the dragon with determination. "Yes, I want to protect my friend Yusei, along with the others."

"Good," stated Trishula. "Then when you wake up, I will be there."

"Thank you Trishula," bowed Kalin as his dream ended.

The blue-haired man slowly opened his eyes and glanced over at Radley, who was still sleeping. Kalin shook his head and peered up at the ceiling. However, it wasn't long before Radley also stirred after a few minutes also looking confused.

"Did I wake you up?" asked Kalin with concern.

"No…some dragon did…" muttered Radley.

"A dragon called you too?" asked Kalin.

"Yeah." Radley sat up. "It was really weird."

"I met with a dragon who called itself Trishula. And now for some reason, I feel really cold," shivered Kalin.
Radley hugged him. "Is this better?"

"Yeah, thanks," Kalin smiled as he returned the hug.

Radley smiled back. "The dragon said we're going to have to fight in some upcoming battle…"

Kalin's instinctively turned around and looked behind him at his pillow. He noticed two new cards on it. As he picked one of them up, his eyes widened in shock.

"Look, Radley! The cards are real!"

Radley jumped and looked at the pillow as well. "What the…" He lifted his. "This is a cool effect. It suits my decks."

"What's your dragon's name?" asked Kalin.

"Gungnir," replied Radley.

"What did he say to you?"

"He said I would fight alongside you and we'd have one other companion too," said Radley.

"That's incredible you were chosen. We'll need all the help we can get," smiled Kalin.

"Yes, I asked him why and he said you and I already make a wonderful team," smiled back Radley.

"I hope we can stop the thieves now that we have new cards," said Kalin.

"Yeah," Radley sighed. "I wonder how this will all go down."

"We'll just have to wait and see. That's all I can say," said Kalin.

Radley nodded. "We'll have to stay on guard."

Kalin peered at the window. "It seems the sun is rising."

"Yeah. I guess we'd better get up. Unless there's any chance of going back to sleep," Radley said.

"I don't think I can sleep after what happened last night," Kalin sighed as he got out of bed.

He spent several minutes washing and dressing himself. Radley yawned as he also got up, added Gunggir to his deck, and headed to the kitchen. Kalin returned to the room to fetch Trishula.

"Imagine what the others will say when we say them we got new monsters," chuckled Kalin weakly.

"Imagine what they'll say when we tell them why," added Radley.

"Yeah, it's a crazy story, but we're all used to pretty crazy stuff by now," shrugged Kalin.

"It'll be discouraging to know more trouble's coming though," Radley frowned.

"I know. This kind of reminds me of my Satellite days," said Kalin.

"There was always trouble then?" Radley asked. He started gathered things for breakfast.

"Yeah," nodded Kalin. "Years ago, Satellite was divided into gangs. Some of them robbed from the defenseless."

Radley listened carefully. "It was great you helped."

"Yeah, it's much safer and cleaner."

"You did a lot of good," Radley said. Soon he had breakfast ready. Kalin went out briefly to get the newspaper and returned to see the food on the table.

"Thank you, very much," said Kalin.

Radley smiled and settled in to eat.

"What time should we go to the garage?" asked Kalin.

"We can probably go after we eat," Radley answered.

"Sounds good to me," said Kalin.

After the two finished breakfast, the Bunch arrived at their front door. They were all ready to go, much like loyal wolves.

"Hey, everyone," smiled Kalin. "Did you all sleep well?"

"Yeah!" grinned Scotch. "We're raring to go!"

"That's great," chuckled Kalin. "Let's get going then."

Radley led them to the City. Once they arrived at the garage, Yusei was in a tizzy. Kalin rang the doorbell to alert him. Yusei opened the door, looking dazed, excited, and confused all at the same time.

"Kalin! Bruno remembers!"

Antinomy appeared at the door, but his hair was down and he looked a whole lot goofier.

"Hey guys!" he shouted with a large grin.

Kalin jumped when he heard Bruno's enthusiastic voice. He was behaving so much differently than yesterday.

"Huh? What? You remember?" Kalin asked in a confused voice.

Radley was stunned too.

"Yeah! I was so upset about Yusei being hurt that when I was sleeping, everything came back!" smiled Bruno.

"That's great to hear," smiled Kalin. "Maybe we should celebrate."

"We should," nodded Radley.

"So you remember anything else?" Scotch wondered.

"Yeah! I have all my memories as Antinomy too," said Bruno.

"So, um, is this Antinomy your alter-ego or something?" asked Kalin. He was confused, as he only heard of this thing in superhero comics.

"Well, it's confusing," Bruno said. "Antinomy was my really self and Bruno was the disguise. But…I came to like being Bruno. When I first woke up as Bruno, I didn't remember who I was. Now I feel Bruno is my real self."

"I see," Kalin said as he tried to ponder everything he just heard. "You're a real nice guy, Bruno. Yusei must be very grateful to have met you."

"Thanks. I hope so. I'm sure grateful," said Bruno.

"I am," smiled Yusei.

"Did you tell the others the news?" asked Kalin.

"Yeah, they're all coming over," said Yusei.

"By the way, Radley and I were having pretty much the same dream last night. And when we woke up, we suddenly had new cards."

"Really?" Yusei blinked. "What kind of dreams and cards?"

"We were contacted by two of the Dragons of the Ice Barrier," said Kalin seriously as he showed Yusei and Bruno 'Trishula'.

"These are great cards!" Bruno said.

"What did the dragons say?" Yusei asked.

"They said they will lend us their power in the upcoming fight," Kalin sternly replied.

"What upcoming fight?" Yusei frowned.

"We may have to fight the group that tried to steal your documents yesterday once more."

"Oh great," Yusei frowned. He sighed. "I figured they'd be back, though."

"Radley and I were thinking of going to the police station and interrogating the ones that got arrested," said Kalin.

"It's worth a try. They're not saying anything, though," Yusei said.

"Perhaps we have to force them to give us info," smirked Kalin

"You mean intimidate or torment them?" Yusei looked worried. "No, Kalin."

"I didn't mean by that. Like how the police interrogate them."

"The police don't force information unless they're using cruel tactics," Radley said. "Maybe we could manipulate them."

"That's a good plan. What questions should we ask them?" asked Kalin.

"We could offer to reduce our charges against them if they help us," Radley said.

"Alright. Do you have any objections, Yusei, Bruno?"

"No," Yusei said.

"Let's go for it," Bruno said.

"Let's get going then," said Kalin.

Radley led them to the precinct.

Kalin went up to a secretary. "Hey, we were wondering if we can speak to the two men that were arrested in front of Zora's Garage."

"I'll call Officer Trudge," she said.

Soon Trudge came out. "I'll take you to those guys," he said.

"Thank you, Officer Trudge. Have they responded to you?" asked Kalin.

"Nah, we can't do anything with them," he growled. He led them to the cell.

"I see..." sighed Kalin as he followed Officer Trudge.

The prisoners glowered sullenly.

"Okay, you guys! I've brought some more people to talk to you, and you'd better shape up and cooperate if you know what's good for you!" Trudge snapped.

"We'd like to know what you want with Yusei's technology," glared Kalin.

"We do what we're hired to do," said one. "Lots of people want Yusei's tech. There's lots of money to be made from it."

"Who hired you to steal it? And secondly, Yusei's tech is supposed to help all the citizens of New Domino City by providing energy. It's not for money." scowled Kalin.

"We don't know who. Everything was anonymous," the second guy said. "They wanted the tech for themselves."

"Why do they want it?" asked Kalin.

"To sell to the highest bidder!" cried the prisoner.

"Ooh, naughty, naughty," Radley said.

"I agree with him," Kalin gestured at Radley. "Lastly, tell us who this bidder is?"

"We don't know that either! We weren't told," they insisted.

Kalin looked at Yusei, Radley, and Bruno.

"Perhaps Officer Trudge is right. These fools really don't know anything."

"Yeah," Radley mused. "Their boss probably didn't wanna tell them much, just in case they were caught."

"I guess we have to find out about this bidder on our own. Maybe we can use this station's computer." Kalin pondered, looking around.

"I don't know if Trudge would want us to use it," Yusei said.

"You're right. Let's go home and do our own research."

"Let us know what you find," Trudge said.

"Right," Yusei said.

"Will do," nodded Kalin.

Radley led them out.

"Well, that went nowhere..." sighed Kalin.

"Now we know somebody rich enough to hire thugs wants my technology," Yusei said worriedly. "And people are willing to pay for it."

"We have to tell the others about this. We cannot let another incident like Zero Reverse ever happen again," growled Kalin.

Yusei nodded. "It really could, if things are misused. We have to stop it before it happens!"

"Radley, Bruno, will you help us?" asked Kalin.

"Of course!" Bruno said.

"I would never leave you to face this without me," Radley said.

"Thanks. Now, let's head back to the garage and meet up with the others."

They all went back. Yusei was occupied, trying to think who could be behind this. Kalin sat on a chair and checked his phone to see if he got any text messages.
The others were starting to swarm, brought by the news of Bruno.

"Is it really true, Yusei? Bruno is back?!" exclaimed Leo.

"Yeah! I'm right here!" Bruno grinned.

"Bruno! We missed you so much!" smiled Luna.

"I missed being with all of you as Bruno!" Bruno said. "I have all my memories now!"

"We're so happy for you!" smiled Akiza.

"We should throw a welcome back party!" grinned Crow.

"Yeah!" Leo exclaimed.

"Oh, we totally are!" Scotch said.

Crow hastily dialed the phone and ordered pizza and soda.

"How did you regain your memories, Bruno?" asked Jack.

"I was so upset when Yusei was hurt," Bruno said. "That brought it all back!"

"Well, you always did say it was your mission to protect Yusei," said Jack.

"I was really upset too, since Yusei is like my brother," said Kalin.

"Yeah, it was," Bruno said. "And now he's like my brother too! We're all a big family!"

"Yeah," smiled Kalin. "I'm glad to have met you."

"I'm glad to finally meet you as myself!" Bruno said enthusiastically.

"Let me properly introduce myself. My name is Kalin Kessler and this this my friend Radley Ramon. We are part of a group known as The Bunch."

"Hi! I'm Bruno!" Bruno grinned. "Of course, I remember all of our meetings from before."

"That's great," Radley said. It had always sounded awful to keep forgetting parts of one's life.

"So, Bruno, what do you think of New Domino City?" asked Kalin.

The doorbell rang and the pizza arrived.

"I love it! Yusei and the others worked so hard on it!" Bruno gushed.

Yusei smiled and went to get the pizza.

"Growing up, in Satellite, we never expected we would be able to come here," said Kalin.

"Enjoy the meal!" grinned Crow.

"It's great you can!" Bruno gushed.

"We will!" Scotch said. "You're staying too, right?"

"I'm wondering the same thing," said Kalin. "You told us earlier that you come from the future."

"I'm definitely staying!" Bruno said.

"Epic!" Scotch grinned.

"This is the best pizza ever!" smiled Leo.

"All pizza is awesome!" Scotch gushed. "Including this one!"

"I wonder if we should invite Jordan, Nico, and West over?" asked Kalin.

"Yeah! They'd wanna come!" Scotch said.

Kalin nodded. "Alright." He texted them:

"Hey Jordan, Nico, West. Would you like to come to the City and meet a friend of ours?"

They definitely did, and they started out.

"They're coming over now," Kalin said bluntly.

"Great," Yusei smiled.

"We'll probably need more pizza," Crow decided.

"Yes, do it, Crow," chuckled Jack.

"I'm always down for more pizza!" smiled Leo.

"Okay, okay," Crow chuckled, and ordered more.

"This is most likely the best Christmas we've had in a long time," said Akiza.

"Yeah, this makes it just about perfect," Yusei said fondly.

"If we can catch the other crooks, it'll be completely perfect!" Bruno said.

"Did you guys get any information on who they are?" asked Akiza.

"No," Radley sighed.

"That's not good..." frowned Akiza.

"So, what now?" demanded Jack.

"We were going to try use the computer to find out who might be interested in buying the tech," Radley said.

"When are we going to start?" asked Leo.

"The black web would be a good place to start," Bruno said.

"Hmm, good thinking. We should check that place out," said Kalin.

"I'll do it after the party," Bruno said.

"Alright. In the meantime, the others should be arriving in half an hour."

Soon Jordan and the kids came.

"Hey gang!" waved West. "We're here!"

"Hey! And I'm here now too!" Bruno chirped. "I'm Bruno!"

"Hi Bruno!" smiled West. "I'm West!"

"And my name is Nico," said his sister. "It's nice to meet you."

"Yeah, I remember you guys," Bruno grinned. "I'm glad to meet you as myself!"

"As yourself?" asked West in a puzzled tone.

"Yeah, I feel like this is the real me," Bruno said. "I'm Antinomy."

"Oh, now I remember!" gasped Nico. "The first time we met, you acted so differently."

"Yeah, that side of me is really different," Bruno said.

"It's nice to see that you're happy," smiled Nico.

"Bruno, what do you think of Kalin?" asked West.

"He's a great guy!" Bruno said.

"He helped us defeat the Malcolm Gang and free Crash Town!" exclaimed West.

"Definitely cool," Bruno said. "And he means a lot to Yusei."

"Yeah, Kalin told us that when he first came to Crash Town, he was ashamed of what he did to Yusei," said Nico.

"Yeah, that must have been awful," Bruno said.

"When I was under the Dark Signer's control, I accused Yusei of betraying me," sighed Kalin.

"That must have hurt so bad when you came back to yourself," Bruno said.

"It did. I don't understand why I had to retain all my memories of that incident, while the others got theirs erased."

Radley drew an arm around Kalin's shoulders. Kalin draped his arm around Radley's waist.

"That doesn't seem fair," Bruno agreed.

"Greiger remembered too," Yusei said kindly.

"Him too? Why?" asked Kalin puzzlingly.

"We don't know," Yusei said. "Carly might be the only one who doesn't remember."

"I have another question for Bruno. Have you heard of Psychic Duelists where you come from?" asked Kalin.

"Well ... it's complicated since I'm not the original Bruno," Bruno said. "Z-One made me as an Android to go back in time. I guess I have a lot of his memories, though. I think there were Psychic Duelists."

Nico, and West looked at each other in confusion at what Bruno said.

However, Kalin kept a cool composure. "I somehow kept some of the Dark Signer's power even after being revived. I have no idea why. I read a news article about a rehab center for Psychics called the Arcadia Movement."

"Yeah, that was a bad place," Bruno said grimly. "I heard people only stayed if Sayer found them good enough."

"Sayer took me in because my parents were terrified of me after my powers awakened," added Akiza. "He told me I had lots of potential."

"Sayer used you," Yusei said with rare bitterness.

"Yes, he did. He deceived me, the other Psychics, and all of New Domino City," frowned Akiza.

"But it's over now," Bruno said.

"Yes, and I'm thankful. I have friends now, something I never thought I'd have," smiled Akiza.

"I guess you can consider me a bit of a rogue," said Kalin. "A Psychic with no proper training."

Yusei smiled too. "And both of you will always have friends."

"Bruno, you may have noticed that whenever I use my powers, I become a bit crazy," said Kalin. "I just want to warn you in advance."

"You're just worried about your friends," Bruno said.

"I worry that I may not be able to control it," grimaced Kalin as he stared at his hands. "I might have to use them against those thieves again."

"And we'll be grateful for your help," Radley said.

"Thank you, Radley," smiled Kalin. "Now, why don't we get down to business, shall we? We have a black market to explore."

Bruno went to the computer and did some tricks to get into the black web. "... There's several people advertising they'll pay for the tech. They're probably posting from Internet cafes so they can't be traced. But if we trace where the posts came from, maybe we can go there and find that they're regular customers."

"Why do they want the tech and how do we stop them?" asked West.

"Probably to power their own operations," Bruno said. "I'm not sure yet how to stop them. We need to find out who they are first." He ran a trace on one post. "This was posted from a cafe downtown."

"Hey, I recognize that cafe!" shouted Jack. "That's where they sell my favorite cakes!"

"Let's go there then!" Bruno said.

"Yeah! Those thieves aren't getting away with tarnishing the sweets!" exclaimed Jack.

Yusei was amused at Jack but agreed.

Let's hurry before they plot their next move!" shouted Crow as he rushed for his runner.

"They might not be there now," Radley warned. But he went with them all.

"Are you sure this is the right place?" asked Leo.

"Let's stay here for a bit. They might come later," replied Kalin.

"This is where I traced the post," Bruno said.

"Maybe I shouldn't be here," Yusei said. "They might not come if they see me."

"You can hide in the back alley there," suggested Crow. That way they can't spot you from the entrance."

Yusei nodded. "Okay."

Scotch settled down for some dessert.

"Hey, you mate!" shouted Jack to Scotch. "How can you order dessert at a time like this?"

"Aren't we supposed to blend in?" Scotch retorted. "It'll look weird not to order anything!"

"Yeah, it is pretty tough to resist, being in a dessert store and all," said West.

"Let's get our Duel Disks ready, just in case they do show," said Kalin.

Radley was ready too.

"Hmm, everything seems to be normal here," said Luna.

"I doubt they look like criminals," Radley said. "For all we know, it could be that nice guy there."

"I agree with Radley," nodded Kalin. Continue to keep your eyes peeled everybody."

Scotch decided to casually walk around and try to see what people were doing at the computers. West followed beside him and acted as if he really wanted to use the computer to play games. Finally, they found someone who seemed to be obsessively refreshing a website every couple of minutes.

"Hey, Scotch. Look at that guy over there. He's refreshing that page a bit too much, isn't he?" asked West.

"Well, I do that myself sometimes," Scotch mused. "But yeah, it requires further investigation!"

"Right!" West silently waved for the others to come over.

Radley casually strolled nearby. Kalin stepped up next to him.

"What is it with you people?!" the guy snapped. "Don't I get any privacy?!"

"Uh, all the computers have been taken, and I really need to use one for my homework," said West.

"There's other stations! Why target mine?!" the guy grumped.

"May we ask why you're in such a rush?" asked Kalin.

"No, you may not! My business is my own!" the guy growled.

Radley saw he was refreshing an auction site for a DVD. "We're sorry," he said. "We'll try someone else."

"Well, that was awkward," shrugged Crow. "Guess we're back to square one."

"Aww, and I thought something cool was sure to happen!" ranted West.

Radley chuckled. "Not every angry guy is a crook. He probably had good reason to be annoyed."

"I don't blame him," chuckled Kalin. "Overall, we were the ones who interrupted him. Let's continue looking."

They waited a while longer, but nothing happened.

"You know, there is another possibility," Radley said. "It could be one of the staff."

"That's a good possibility, Radley. Perhaps we should speak to the boss if he's noticed any of his staff doing anything suspicious," said Kalin

"Hey, Bruno! You said the suspects are here!" snapped Jack.

"I said the message was posted from here," Bruno said. "That doesn't mean they'll come back here again."

"Unless the boss is the one," Radley said. "But yeah, let's try it."

Akiza raised her hand. "Excuse me, may I speak with the boss of this restaurant?"

The waitress looked worried, probably suspecting a complaint, but she shakily nodded. "Of ... of course..." She went off and soon came back with the boss.

"Nice going, Akiza," smiled Kalin as he saw the boss coming.

The boss looked wary too. "How can I help you?"

"We were wondering if you've seen any suspicious activity lately," said Akiza.

The boss was surprised. "Such as?"

"Browsing strange auction sites," said Akiza.

"A lot of people come here to bid on eBay auctions," the boss said. "That's not unusual."

"We did notice one person doing that just now. However, have you witnessed any shady sites?" asked Kalin.

"No, I don't think so," the boss said. "Are you Sector Security?"

"I am," said Crow. "Yesterday, a citizen got assaulted by several thieves who attempted to steal some top-secret technology from him. A witness pointed out some activity coming from this cafe."

Well, I'm not aware of anything like that," the guy frowned.

"Can we have your permission to check the names of your workers?" asked Crow.

"Yes," the man said. "Come back with me." He took them to his office and got the list of his staff.

"I wonder if any of these people are the suspects?" asked Akiza.

"The only way is to input them in the computer one by one," replied Crow.

"You have my permission to do it," the boss said. "I want to know what's going on!"

"Alright, thanks," nodded Crow. "Ok, Bruno, get hacking."

Bruno started looking up all the names. Nothing seemed strange or out of the ordinary, until he got to one name. They had been visiting some shady sites.

"What did you find?" asked Kalin.

"This person is a possibility," Bruno said, and showed them the info.

"That's interesting," said Kalin as he jotted down the person's name on a notepad. He turned to the boss. "Sir? Is this employee working today?"

"Yes, she's serving the booth in the corner," the boss said.

"Could we interview her for a news article?" asked Crow.

"Go ahead," the boss said. "I've had no reason to think she's not trustworthy."

"Thanks sir," said Crow.

They waited for the boss to leave before plotting their next plan.

"Ok, now that we have our suspect, what do we ask her?" asked Jack.

"Maybe how she likes the new reactor in town?" Radley said.

"So, we ask her do you think the reactor is awesome?" asked West.

"Maybe more like if she likes the way the town has changed since putting it in," Radley chuckled.

"I would like to ask her what she thinks of the unification of Satellite and New Domino City," said Luna.

That's a good question too," Radley said.

"Alright," said Crow. "Any more questions to ask?"

"That's good to start with," Radley said.

"Let's go speak with her as soon as possible," said Kalin.

"Here she comes," Crow said.

"Can I help you?" she asked in surprise.

"Hello, we were wondering if you have the time for an interview?" asked Akiza.

"Um..." She looked worried. "I'm on the clock right now..."

Kalin raised an eyebrow at the worker's nervousness.

"Alright, how about just one question?" asked Akiza.

Radley didn't find it strange. She could get in trouble for doing such a thing on duty. She wouldn't know the boss had given his permission.

"Well ... what kind of interview is this? Are you with a paper?" she asked.

"We were wondering what your opinion is regarding the current state of New Domino City," replied Akiza.

"What?" she said in disbelief. "... And you didn't say who or what the interview is for."

"This is for the opinion section of the newspaper," said Crow.

"Oh. Well, I think things are better now than before," she said.

"What do you think of the unification of New Domino and Satellite, miss?" asked Luna.

"It's fine with me," she said, a bit impatiently. "I really need to get back to work..."

"Ok. Thanks for your time," waved Crow.

"Did you guys notice she seemed really twitchy?" asked Leo.

"She could be worried about her job," Radley said.

"That's very true," nodded Nico.

"Let's follow her when she gets off work!" Scotch suggested.

"Keep in mind Bruno tracked strange internet data coming from here, so it's too soosn to give up now," said Crow.

"I agree with Scotch," said Kalin. "Let's keep an eye on her."

Radley nodded. "Also true. We won't give up."

They waited until she was leaving, then started to follow. It wasn't long and a dark car soon started trailing them.

"Speaking of which, did you guys see that fishy-looking car?" asked Jack.

"I sure did," Yusei said grimly.

"They must be after us!" Scotch exclaimed after several turns were made with it staying close.

"As a member of the New Domino City police, they are under arrest!" yelled Crow as he pressed the accelerator.

"Good luck arresting them now," Virgil snorted.

The dark car gathered speed too and tried to run them off the road. It rammed into the car Jordan was driving in. Nico and West clutched each other in fear as they jolted from the impact. Jordan tried his best to keep the car steady.

"Ahh!" cried West and Nico.

"West, Nico!" cried Kalin. "Darn it! That driver wants us dead!"

"This is the police! Pull over!" yelled Crow to the dark car.

"We shouldn't have come along!" Jordan exclaimed in horror.

The car did not, but they did fall back a bit. Jordan's car was starting to lose grip and began drifting to one side. Akiza gasped in horror and took out a Monster card. She used her Psychic abilities and raised the card into the air.

Come on out, Rose Tentacles!" yelled Akiza. Rose Tentacles emerged in a flash and then grabbed Jordan's car and tried pulling it to the center of the road.

"Looks like they're giving us no choice! We have to fight back with force!" yelled Jack.

Jordan prayed nothing else would happen with the bad guys. Radley looked worriedly to Kalin. He didn't want Kalin to have to display his powers in public when they wouldn't know who was watching and might try to exploit him, but maybe he would need to if anything else cruel happened.

"How do we stop these guys?!" shouted Leo.

A second car appeared and tried to move in on them.

"What!? Another car?!" exclaimed Jack.

"Everyone! We won't give in to these thieves! We have to fight!" yelled Kalin.

"Most of us can't do anything on the road unless we're going to force them off the road," Virgil said.

"And I'll do just that!" said Kalin. "I summon Infernity Avenger!" The bizarre little gunman emerged in front of the evil car.

The crooks just laughed at a Duel Monster being summoned.

Bruno's eyes narrowed and he whipped out a pair of red shades from him coat pocket. He chanted: "All limiters are go!"

In a flash of white light, he changed to his Antinomy clothes. He rode out on his Duel Runner.

Everyone looked shocked when their friend transformed.

"Antinomy?!" exclaimed Yusei.

"Whoa! Is he a superhero?!" shouted West.

Kalin looked with silent shock at the crazy scenario and then turned his attention back to the crooks. "You won't be smiling for long! For I summon Infernity Patriarch!"

"What are you trying to do?!" the crooks jeered.

Meanwhile, Antinomy rode alongside the van to try to protect from further attacks.

"Where did he come from?" asked Nico to Antinomy.

"Antinomy, thank goodness you came!" Akiza despite the strain of using her powers to keep Jordan's car safe.

"Of course," Antinomy said. "Flight control! Remove Level 5 limiter! Recovery network at 120%! Come out Tech Genius Power Gladiator!"

In a flash of green Synchro rings, the robot emerged and picked up Jordan's car by the rear end. Power Gladiator along with Rose Tentacles managed to carefully lower the car in the center of the road, away from the danger.

Kalin summoned another monster in an attempt to get the crooks to surrender. However, the crooks just laughed and tried to fire on him.

The purple aura appeared around Kalin. "Since you criminals won't go down, you leave me with no choice. He took out a white card, raised it in the air, and chanted:

"Let the icy spear shatter the frozen wastes! I Synchro Summon Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier!"

The large, icy dragon emerged from the card in a blast of snow.

Radley was gathering monsters to summon his dragon too, figuring Kalin could also turn his real. His monster came out with a roar.

"Do you see that, Yusei?! Radley and Kalin both summoned their dragons!" gasped Leo.

"Amazing," Yusei gasped.

"They both got dragons?!" exclaimed Jack.

The crooks looked a bit intimidated, even still thinking they were cards.

"It's time to put an end to your crime spree! Trishula! Icy Imprisonment!" yelled Kalin.

Trisula blew a frosty beam at the dark car's wheels, freezing it.

"What the ... ?!" the crooks yelled.

Radley had his monster attack too.

"Yeah! Go Kalin! Go Radley!" exclaimed West.

Crow got his taser and handcuffs ready to arrest the crooks.

The crooks felt the dragons' breath. "They're real!" they screamed. "We surrender!"

"Good," smirked Kalin.

"You're coming to the facility!" said Crow sternly as several police cars arrived.

The crooks didn't protest and surrendered peacefully. Radley relaxed while Kalin returned back to normal.

"Guys, how's the kids?" he asked.

"We're fine!" West said.

Antinomy switched back to Bruno. West and Nico jumped out of their car and dashed over to him.

"Thank you so much for saving us, Bruno and Akiza!" gushed Nico.

"Can I please have your autograph?" asked West.

"Sure!" Bruno wrote his down.

Kalin turned to look at Bruno. "Hey, how were you able to do that, Bruno?"

"Uh ... you know, I'm not sure," Bruno said, rubbing his neck.

West smiled like he won a prize.

Kalin looked at Yusei and Radley. "Well, it seems we stopped the crooks, for now."

Radley nodded. "But that lady got away," he sighed.

"Darn it! How is it even possible despite you getting new dragons?!" ranted Jack.

"We kinda got distracted when her bodyguards came after us," Radley shot back.

"Our next step is to integrate the bodyguards," said Crow. "Maybe they'll clue us in on her whereabouts."

"Hopefully," Bruno said.

"Why I have a bad feeling we're going to have more fighting in the future?" sighed Leo.

"We probably are," Luna said.

"Let's go back to the garage and recover our energy for what's ahead," said Akiza.

"Let us know what happens at the interrogation," Yusei said to Crow.

"Alright, Yusei. I will," he gave everyone a thumbs-up and then drove off to the police station.

Yusei led everyone back home.

"I don't think I've used my powers in so long," sighed Akiza.

"You were awesome!" Leo said.

Akiza blushed. "I couldn't have done it without everyone's support. Oh, speaking of which." She went up to Bruno. "Bruno, thank you very much for the help back there."

"Sure!" Bruno said. "I had to help!"

"Can I call you a superhero from now on?" grinned West.

Kalin couldn't help but chuckle at West's innocence.

Bruno chuckled. "Sure."

"I also consider Kalin a superhero too," said West.

"My brother was always the positive thinker," smiled Nico.

Radley chuckled. "He does perform superhero feats at that."

"Speaking of feats, I guess tomorrow, we'll meet Crow at the facility," said Kalin.

"I'm hoping he'll call tonight," Yusei said.

"I hope so too," said Akiza.

"In the meanwhile, I think I'll go outside and gather my thoughts," said Kalin as we stepped outside the garage.

"Do you want to be alone?" Radley asked.

"No, you can join if you want," replied Kalin.

He walked out, sat on the sidewalk, and began playing his harmonica.

Radley went out with him and leaned against the lamppost with folded arms. Kalin was trying to think of the best possible song that would intimidate the gangsters. Radley started singing Liberty Valance under his breath.

"Seems like Radley and Kalin are singing again," said Nico, peering over at the door.

"That's nice they can share that," Yusei said.

"Kalin never played any instruments when we lived in Satellite," shrugged Jack.

"He's changed a lot," Yusei said.

"What else changed about him?" asked Leo.

"He's quiet and serious," Yusei said.

"He must still feel guilty for being a Dark Signer," said Luna.

"Yeah, he does," Yusei said.

"Perhaps you should try cheering him up, Yusei," suggested Akiza.

"I do, and so does Radley," Yusei said. "We've helped a lot. But I think Kalin may always be kind of sad. That kind of pain doesn't easily go away."

"Then we'll have to do our best to work together! We'll stop that gang soon!" said Leo.

"I hope so," Yusei said.

"Same here," nodded Akiza.

"Hopefully Crow will get those guys to talk," Yusei said.

"And what if he can't?" asked Jack.

"Then we'll have to try a different approach, like finding that girl again," Yusei said.

"She could be anywhere though! She probably quit working at the restaurant after we chased her out," said Jack.

"I'll try to find her anyway," Bruno promised.

"We can always count on you!" cheered Leo.

"I always do my best!" Bruno said.

"Just like a superhero would!" smiled West.
