SHIELD Base.
Location Classified.
Steve Rogers sat on a bed in a small room. Still adjusting to his new world. It had been a few weeks since he was found frozen deep within the tundra of the Arctic. This world was foreign to him. He had been debriefed on new kinds of super beings, called Metahumans. Not unlike the brave souls who had fought alongside him in the war…a war that was a lifetime ago now. It seemed like everyone he knew was now gone. Soldiers who he fought alongside, commanders he answered to…gone. And most of all, she was gone.
Peggy Carter.
She had to be by now, there was simply no way. She wasn't like the others, like Diana or Logan. The former of whom he had learned in a briefing had a family. He still smiled at that. He was happy for his best friend, he wondered if she knew he was alive? There was a knock at his door. He got up and stared at the handprint scanner for a minute. With hesitation he pressed his palm against it. The door slid open and agent Coulson was there, he stood aside and Steve exited the room and knew instantly where to go. He let out a sigh as he marched to the briefing room.
"Captain. Rogers-"
"Call me Steve, Phil. It's been 80 years…" Steve sighed, still in disbelief.
"Steve, you don't have to go if you aren't ready for debrief, you're still adjusting to the world." Coulson explained as he kept up with the soldier, holding tightly to his folder. Steve stopped as did Phil who was winded.
"I know what happened. We won the war, and men can now fly." He retorted.
Coulson handed him the dossier. "I'd take a look at it, Steve. There's more than what you think."
Steve furrowed his brow as he read over Erik Selvig's findings. As they entered the main briefing room, there was a round table where only one other person sat. A woman. Bright blonde hair that's shoulder length, blue eyes and dressed in a white shirt with black female slacks. The woman was stunning, clearly, she could have anyone's attention within seconds with a mere look of her blue eyes. She got Steve's attention albeit briefly as she looked at him. Another man came down from the upper level of the briefing room, walking down the steps. A dark-skinned man with a black uniform and trench coat. An eye patch covered his scarred left eye. He was Nick fury, the Director of SHIELD.
"Thanks for joining us Cap." said Nick fury as he shook Steve's hand.
"Thank you for having me, director." He replied.
"This is Dinah Lance, AKA Black Canary, she's going to be your handler on this assignment." Said Fury as he motioned to Dinah, who shook Steve's hand as well.
"A handler? What for?" Steve inquired as he sat down across from Dinah.
Fury pressed a button and a hologram of Space came up and echoed an eerie voice.
"You…are…not…alone…"
The four words silenced the room. Coulson looked nervous, Steve picking up on it, asked. "What's the source of this?"
"An astrophysicist based out of MIT." Said Dinah as she nodded to Steve's folder. He opened it up and began reading.
Steve looked through it but it was all foreign to him. "I'm sorry, I don't really understand what any of these studies mean?"
Coulson then cleared his throat as he took the files. "These are frequencies we've caught thanks to one of our dear friends. We tried to match it with all the transmissions sent out from several different countries, none of them match."
"Meaning, these are definitely from another planet." Fury added. "Or at least, that's what we believe."
Steve then chuckled in a way of disbelief. "So, you're telling me now, there could be other people from different planets now? "
"Actually, that is in fact, true." Dinah replied. "I don't mean to further enhance your trauma, but that's exactly who found you."
"Who?..." Steve asked.
"Superman." Dinah answered.
Steve had a look of confusion while Fury and Coulson shared the same look and nodded. They were planning on saving it for later, but they decided now was the best time to mention him about the last son of Krypton.
"Superman, as he likes to call himself, has been keeping the world safe for the past 28 years. Or at least he claims he has, due to the fact that his appearance has brought the attention of several other beings from different planets." Fury said.
"You're saying that he could have something to do with Superman?" Steve asked.
"Most definitely, we have been keeping an eye on this guy for as long as he's been around." Coulson replied. "He may claim he's up to good intentions, but we just can't take the risk of having the biggest possible threat to mankind just roaming freely around the place."
"Just please tell me where you're going with this." Steve said.
"What we're trying to tell you, Captain, is to be precautious." Fury answered. "These individuals cannot be trusted and we believe they could be the source to whatever it is we are facing here."
Steve got up as the others looked at him with a worried expression. "I'm going outside, I need fresh air."
He walked towards the door and went for the exit, but suddenly stopped as he was called by Fury.
"One more thing, Mr. Rogers." Fury stated. "I suggest you prepare yourself, we may have won the war, but I can assure there will be bigger things to worry about from now on."
Steve just gave a stern look and exited the room. Dinah looked at the other two agents with an uncertain expression.
"That went well." Dinah said sarcastically.
"Give him time, Miss Lance, he'll come around eventually." Fury told her. "He needs to take all the time he needs, because whether he likes it or not, the world needs him."
Steve then headed outside to the landing facility, where he sat down on one of the benches and saw how they were all traveling through the sky. He let out a frustrating sigh as it was the beginning of a long and difficult journey for him. He cupped his face with his hands and started to remember certain events before his eventual hibernation.
"Mind if I sit with you?" A voice asked him.
Steve looked up immediately to see the same woman from before standing in front of him. She smiled nervously, but a bit boastful, at him and had her arms behind her back.
"Sorry, you just look like you need someone to talk to," she said, "but I understand if you would rather be alone right now."
Steve smiled back at her. "Sure, I don't mind."
Dinah gladly sat down next to him and tried her absolute best to make conversation.
"I understand it must feel pretty rough, having to wake up after an 80-year coma and receiving THAT as one of your first conversations." Dinah jokes.
Steve frowned. "You could say that, I could have just imagined thousands of better ways of being introduced to a brand-new world."
"Sorry, I forget I'm not really the funny type." Dinah apologized. "Look, you don't have to listen to everything those two say, especially about Superman."
"Is that so?" Steve asked.
"Of course! I met Superman in person once, he is like the greatest hero this world could ever ask for." Dinah said. "He may not be exactly human, but he is brave, loyal, selfless, everything you could ever expect from such a great role model."
Dinah then turned to face him and couldn't help but fangirl a bit on the inside as she was actually emotionally supporting THE Captain America. This was like a dream come true for her since she actually admired him as an idol for not only the country, but the world.
"Kind of like you." She continued. "Seeking truth and justice in the American way!"
Steve chuckled a bit as he playfully shook his head, "It's been a while since I heard that one. As a matter of fact, it's been a while since I ever talked with anyone like this."
"Like this? As in?" Dinah asked.
"As in like an actual conversation." Steve answered. "It's something I feel like I took for granted."
"Well, there are plenty of things we all take for granted in our lives." She sighed. "We just have to learn to appreciate what we got right now."
"Thank you, Dinah." Steve said. "I really appreciate the kind words."
"Anytime! I just want you to know that it won't be easy adjusting to the time setting, but if you are ever in doubt, I'll be more than happy to help you out!" She exclaimed happily.
"I would love that." He kindly replied.
Dinah couldn't help but admire his deep blue eyes and incredibly handsome appearance. She immediately shook those thoughts away as she got up and signaled him to follow her.
"Anyway, we should go. I've been assigned to show you around the place, introduce you to some people, you know, the usual." Dinah said.
Steve got up and followed her. "Oh, great, just when I thought my days of dealing with this were over."
"Well, I hate to break it, Cap, but your days are far from over." Dinah teased. "You have a long day for tomorrow, but right now, first things first!"
Steve and Dinah walked around headquarters and got to do all the things that Dinah was assigned to do. As expected, it was pretty boring and frustrating, nothing out of the ordinary. After a few hours, Dinah then led Steven into his dormitory and allowed him to enter it.
"Alright, here is your dorm room, Mr. Rogers." She said as she opened the door for him.
"Oh, please, no." Steve cringed. "Just call me Steve, I actually dislike being called like that."
Dinah snickered. "Believe me, if only you understood the reference, then you would have cringed even more."
Steve tilted his head in confusion, which made Dinah laugh a bit at his confusion.
"I'm just messing with you, Steve, don't think too much about it. You did have jokes back in the 40's, right?" Dinah joked.
"We sure did, I just hope I get to understand the ones of today eventually." Steve said.
"Don't worry, you will, but right now, there are bigger things to focus on." She told him. "Let me know if you need anything."
Dinah then walked away as Steve was left alone in his room, wondering where he should even start. He got his stuff out and started accommodating the room, blankets, pillows, books and a radio. Suddenly, he found his locket with Peggy's picture in it. He immediately sighed with regret as he forgot for a moment that this wasn't where he belonged. He belonged back there with Peggy and his friends, the JSA, fighting for his country and doing what he believed was right. He laid on the pillow as he started sobbing into the pillow, letting all the pent-up sadness and frustration out without fearing about being heard.
"Why? Why couldn't I have just died? Why couldn't I have just stayed where I was? I don't belong here! Someone… Please get me out of here…" Steve punches a wall in frustration and buried his head in his hands.
Eventually, he calmed down a bit and sighed. He felt lost, confused and alone, now that all his friends were gone and the love of his life was dead. He looked up to the desk and saw a notebook laying on it. He got the notebook and stared at it for a few seconds, eventually deciding to use it. He opened it and took out a pen to start writing out his thoughts and feelings.
"September 17th, 2018
My name is Steven Grant Rogers, born on July 4, 1914. The fascinating thing about me is that I remain the same age I was about 80 years ago. For those 80 years, I have been trapped under ice and in a long state of coma. The world has moved on without me, without Captain America, but somehow or someway, fate has decided to bring me back. Everything has changed, my friends are gone and Peggy… my dear Peggy, is no longer here. This marks the day that has forever changed my life, for better or for worse, that is yet to be discovered. All I hope for is to somehow find peace among this whole chaos and that eventually, I can overcome this tremendous and immense sadness I am carrying."
Steve closed the notebook and put his face in his hands once again. For a moment, he started to think about anything that could possibly cheer him up. He then saw the books and magazines that were given to him after his transfer to SHIELD. He got one that was titled "How to Adjust to Difficult Times" by Charles Xavier. He opened it and started to read immediately, getting lost into the writing and feeling a bit relieved as he read Xavier's advice. After a few minutes of reading, Steve then saw a magazine with several articles about Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne, discussing how their company has managed to rise to its glory. Another one was by the Daily Bugle about a certain individual known as Spider-Man and how he was a menace to the city of New York. Steve shook his head as he put all of them away and decided it was enough reading for today and looked at his clock to check the time.
"Nine o'clock already?" Steve exclaimed. "I should definitely get some rest now."
Steve then went towards the bed and had a bit of trouble closing his eyes. He tried so hard to let it go, but the more he tried, the more he struggled to accept it. Eventually, the frustration got the best of him and caused him to go to sleep.
The next morning, Steve woke up hoping it was all some strange nightmare and that it was all over. He wished that he was in his time with his friends and Peggy just waiting for him at the other side of the door to inform him about the next coming mission. Unfortunately, he knew this wasn't the case and that this was in very fact real. Suddenly the door opened and Nick Fury walked in.
"Had a rough time getting some rest, Captain?" Fury asked.
"Can't say I didn't." Steve replied.
Fury chuckled. "Your breakfast awaits in the cafeteria; I suggest you get ready. Today is going to be a long day for you. A lot of mental and physical training is in store for you, Cap."
Nick then patted Steve on the shoulder as he walked out, leaving him to wonder just how much he could take in just a couple of days. First, he went to the cafeteria and ate his breakfast, not wanting to start the day with an empty stomach. Then, he was led to the training room, where he was in white t-shirt and sweatpants. The training area consisted of several obstacle courses and exercise equipment.
"Good morning, Steve." Dinah called out to him from a distance.
Steve turned around to see Dinah in a completely different outfit that caught him completely off guard. She was in black tight leggings with a gray sports bra, both hugging and revealing her feminine features and curves. He couldn't get the words out of his mouth, he has never seen a woman dressed like that in front of him, apart from Diana of course.
"You okay there, Steve?" Dinah asked as she waved her hand in front of his face.
He immediately shook his head and caught himself staring at her figure. Dinah chuckled a bit at his reaction.
"Was he just checking me out? Dear Lord, THE Captain America checking ME out? This is just too good!" She thought to herself.
"Umm, good morning to you too, Miss Lance." Steve greeted back awkwardly.
"Oh, come on, just call me Dinah." She chuckled. "No need to act professional, not even in front of these guys."
She pointed at all the agents and facility workers walking around the area.
"Right, so, what is the exercise for today?" Steve asked.
"Well, we are obviously going to start with some warm ups." She answered. "First some flexes and then we are going to go for a jog around the area, does that sound good?"
Steve smiled. "Nothing I've never done before."
The duo then started their workout stretches. All the different types of stretching were important for this routine. After about thirty minutes of stretching, Dinah thought it was best for them to get on with their jogging.
"Phew! That was fun! Now, on to our jogging, shall we?" Dinah suggested.
"Hey, I'm ready when you are." Steve teased. "Just waiting on you."
"Hmm very well then." Dina replied slyly.
Dinah and Steve then went to the start of the track field and initiated their jogging. It started off slow for the first couple of minutes, until eventually, they slowly started to pick up some speed. Dinah teased him by getting ahead of him, only to be replied with Steve picking up speed and getting to the same level as her.
"Someone's getting a bit pushy, I see?" Dinah teased.
"Hey, this isn't nearly enough for me. I honestly expected a bit more." Steve replied.
"Oh really? Then do your best." Dinah said.
"Are you sure? I don't want to make you feel left behind." Steve asked.
Dinah nodded in approval as Steve instantly started to run way faster now. Dinah gasped at how Steve was running around the field way faster than a regular human. He got through the obstacles like literally nothing and continued to run on the track without breaking a sweat. Dinah was barely done with the second lap as Steve was already in his fifth lap, and he still wasn't tired or showing any signs of slowing down. She was starting to envy him, she was supposed to be coaching him, not the other way around.
"On your left!" Steve exclaimed as he ran past her.
Dinah looked at him in confusion as to why he just said that. Was that a way to poke fun at her? She ignored that as she kept on her own course. Already on her fourth lap, Dinah was getting really tired while she was going through the rope climbing obstacle. Steven then appeared from behind her and started to get on the rope obstacle as well.
"On your left!" He exclaimed again.
Dinah turned to face him again with the same expression she gave him last time. He was already at the top and quickly jumped to the bottom to continue his course while Dinah was barely reaching halfway. About an hour had passed and Steve had finished his twentieth lap while Dinah had just finished her fifth. Dinah was barely able to stand as she made her way back to the beginning while Steve ran past her.
"Don't you…. Say it…" Dinah panted.
"On your left!" Steve exclaimed as he passed her.
"Damn it!" She exclaimed tiredly.
She couldn't take it anymore; she fell on to the ground as she panted and gasped for breath. Steve went back to her and stood right above her while looking down at her.
"Are you alright?" Steve asked nonchalantly.
Dinah opened her eyes and looked up at him with a look of shock and disbelief.
"How… are you… still standing!?" Dinah exclaimed.
"Eh, super soldier serum, long story." Steve answered while he offered her a hand up.
Dinah chuckled and rolled her eyes playfully as she took his hand and got up. Dinah went to grab a towel and wiped off the sweat, she would have offered Steve the same, but she saw that it clearly wasn't necessary.
"Are you even tired?" Dinah asked.
"Hmm, I am sort of getting there." Steve said.
"What!?" She exclaimed. "Damn, this serum must really enhance your performance, huh?"
"Well, like I said, it's a long story." Steve replied. "I wasn't always like this, you know."
"Really? How were you then?" Dinah asked as she sat down on a nearby bench.
"Well, growing up, I suffered several and severe health problems that really affected my body. I was this 90-pound asthmatic, as they called me." Steve explained. "For as long as I can remember, all I ever wanted to do was serve my country and accomplish what was right."
Steve sat next to her as he started to look down at the floor with a bit of sadness. Dinah got really interested but made sure not to push him too far.
"Then what happened?" Dinah asked.
"I got rejected from the military for my poor physical condition and it really sent me into a deep state of depression. Every day, I would wake up and feel disgusted by looking at myself in the mirror. I was that close to giving up hope and just surrendering my dream." Steve said. "That is, until I got the call to participate on the Super Soldier Project, they told me it would be dangerous and that the chances of surviving were slim to none. I had nothing to lose, so I volunteered for this project, as it was my last hope of being able to do what I always wanted."
"Who gave you the offer?" Dinah asked.
"Peggy Carter, she was the best female soldier I have ever met in my life. She met me while I was about to take my life on an alleyway and took me in to be enrolled into the military service." Steve continued. "After seeing me perform really poorly, she asked if I wanted to participate in the experiment because she believed I was a good man at heart, which is more important than being a good soldier.
Dinah could see the look on his face was more than enough to express what he had to go through back then as just an anorexic kid from Brooklyn. Never in her life, did she ever imagine the mighty Captain America as someone so… fragile.
"That's where I also met Dr. Abraham Serksine and Dr. Howard Stark-" Steve continued.
"Woah! Woah! You actually met Howard Stark!?" Dinah asked suddenly.
"Yeah? I worked with him on several occasions, why?" Steve asked in confusion.
"Nothing, sorry, it's just that I know his son, Tony, and it's just crazy how you actually met and worked with his father, even though he seems a bit older than you!" She exclaimed.
Steve gave a confusing smile as Dinah immediately composed herself.
"I'm sorry, you were saying?" Dinah asked.
"Anyway, Dr. Serksine was there for me in a way no one else did. He was my mentor, my friend… the father figure I never had. He helped me see the good values I had before I took the serum and convinced me that I was deserving of this opportunity." Steve continued. "The day had come and I was tested on with the serum. It was absolute hell and misery to go through, but it worked. I felt amazing, my body wasn't shaped like a twig anymore, and I felt a whole lot… taller."
Dinah laughed a bit at his last statement. Steve laughed a bit too, but then frowned as he continued his story.
"Unfortunately, one of HYDRA's spies managed to get into the facility and shot Dr. Serksine to take the serum." He closed his eyes as he remembered his friend's death. "I stopped him, and fortunately, the super soldier serum was destroyed before it got into the wrong hands."
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry for that…" Dinah said.
"It's alright, he inspired me to do better and continue to prove everyone wrong that I could be the soldier I always dreamed to be. Peggy was there to support me after his death and afterwards." Steve said with a smile. "That's when I also met my friends, The Justice Society of America. James 'Logan' Howlett, Kent Nelson, Jay Garrick and Diana of Themyscira. I'm not sure if you heard of them?"
"Heard of them? I know them!" Dinah exclaimed. "I met them in person a long time ago and kept in touch with them, except, Kent Nelson. I don't really know who that is."
Steve's eyes widened as he looked back at her with a look of shock and happiness.
"Wait! You're telling me they're still here!?" Steve asked as he held her shoulders.
"Umm, yeah? I know where they live so if you want, I can call them and ask if they would like to see you?" Dinah said nervously.
"Oh, Thank goodness!" Steve went to hug her tightly as he let the tears fall into her shoulder. "Thank you! Thank you so much!"
Dinah smiled as she hugged him back, not being able to help but admire his softer side. Suddenly, she felt as if her insides were crushing and her lungs were failing to function.
"Umm… Steve… I can't breathe!" Dinah panted as she patted his back repeatedly.
Steve immediately let her go as soon as he found out he lost control of his strength.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" He exclaimed worryingly. "Are you alright? Did I hurt you?"
Dinah immediately gasped for air as soon as he let her go. After a few seconds, she managed to regain her composure and smile a bit at him.
"Take it easy, Captain." She teased. "Not every one of us has superhuman strength like you."
"I just got a bit overwhelmed at the thought of seeing my friends again. Once again, I apologize." He told her.
"Don't worry about it." She assured. "Right now, let's just focus on our exercises and then we can talk about it, okay?"
"That sounds good to me." He replied with a smile.
Both of them then headed over to the combat training section, where several other agents and trainees were practicing their hand-to-hand combat skills. There were several mats being occupied but fortunately there were others that they could practice on. Once they reached one of the mats, they each went to face each other from opposite ends.
"Alright then, our next exercise shall be hand to hand combat practice." Dinah said.
"It's been a very long time since I engaged in a fight." Steve replied.
"Which is why we are practicing this exercise." Dina explained. "While you were gone, people have developed and discovered several fighting styles, it is time you caught up with them."
She then got into stance as Steve followed along and waited for further instructions.
"Now remember, Steve." She told him. "This is only practice so try to pull back on your strikes, please."
"Of course." He replied.
"Alright, let's begin." Dinah said.
Steve and Dinah then circled each other, waiting for either one of them to make a move. Dinah decided to break the inactivity and threw a high kick to his head. Steve blocked the attack but was met with another one to his chest. Steve stumbled back a bit as Dinah went for a swing kick, but he managed to duck in time to catch her by the legs around his shoulders and lifted her up. Suddenly, he felt her grip around his head tighten as she took one of his arms and got him in a submission hold as she hung from his arm. Steve was groaning in pain, but eventually regained his strength and lifted her up again to slam her on the mat. Dinah was in pain, but quickly rolled back up on her feet, rubbing her back while remaining in stance.
"Did I go too far?" Steve asked.
"No, you're good." Dinah reassured. "Why did you let me get up?"
"What?" Steve asked confusingly.
"You're never supposed to let your opponent get up; you know that." Dina said.
"Well… I just felt bad that I slammed you too hard." Steve replied a bit worryingly.
"Don't worry about me, worry about yourself." Dinah answered. "You worry about the strikes I could land on you."
Steve nodded and went back to stance. Dinah went for a low sweep kick but Steve jumped and landed a kick to her face, making her stumble back. Steve got her over his shoulders and was about to slam her again, but Dinah grabbed his head under her left arm and wrapped her legs around his waist, putting him in another lock. Steve could escape from it, but then that would have severely hurt her, so he tapped out. Dinah immediately let him go as he regained his composure and smiled at her.
"I have to admit, your skills are quite admirable." Steve complimented.
"Why thank you, my dear Captain." She smiled. "But I'm always willing to learn more, especially from the best."
Little did Steve know that Dinah was completely freaking out on the inside, not believing that he just complimented her.
"First, he checks me out, then he likes my fighting skills!? This is the best day ever!" She thought to herself.
Steve cleared his throat. "Anyway, thank you for the exercise. Now I know that I need plenty of time to rework on my fighting skills."
"Anytime!" She replied. "Don't forget, you have therapy in about an hour, so there's that to look forward to."
"I won't." He said. "Also, can you tell me more about contacting my old friends?.."
She smiled at him warmly. "I would love to."
Both of them exited the training facility and into headquarters as Dinah couldn't help but feel really happy at the thought of helping out an idol.
Washington D.C.
Superman and Superwoman were just flying around Capitol Hill as she tried to catch up to her father. Superman stopped on top of the nearest building as Superwoman barely managed to reach him.
"Gotta keep up, sweetheart." Superman said.
"Hey, give me a break will ya?" She replied as she landed.
"I can wait, the world can't." He answered. "What if you don't make it in time to catch a falling building, or a kid fall from a tree?"
"I know, I know!" She exclaimed. "I just have a lot in my mind right now, I can't focus properly."
"We all have a lot to think about, Superwoman." Superman said. "We just have to manage to put that aside for the safety of others, that's what heroes do."
"How can you handle it?" She asked him.
"Well, it's sort of complicated but-" Superman halted in an instant.
Clark looked around the area with only his eyes, making Claire a bit worried.
"Dad?" She asked. "What's going on?"
Superman placed a finger on his lip, making her catch the hint to be quiet. In the blink of an eye, he flew up to one of the buildings and crashed through a window and held up someone from the collar. It was a woman with red hair in a black spandex bodysuit with a sniper rifle on her other hand. She used her bracelets to try and electrocute the Man of Steel, but didn't even faze him. Superman just looked around to see several spying gadgets and devices, making him tremble in anger.
"YOU WERE SPYING ON ME!?" Superman asked angrily.
Suddenly, an arrow came flying to his face, which he caught, but then it exploded on his face. It didn't faze him one bit as he turned around to see a blonde short hair man in a purple uniform pointing a bow and arrow at him.
"Set her down, flyboy." The man said
The woman just took out a knife and cut off the collar he was holding her from, jumping away from him and pointing the rifle at him.
"Let's calm down, everyone." She said, "There's no need for us to get riled up."
Suddenly, a whoosh landed next to her as Superwoman took her rifle and snapped it in a second. "I don't think so."
The two agents then looked at each other worriedly as their covers had been exposed. They nodded as they each took out a piece of Kryptonite and exposed it in front of them, making them stumble back and groan in pain.
"We didn't want to use these, but you gave us no choice." The woman said.
The two Kryptonians then got together as a helicarrier appeared outside the hole Superman made. Nick Fury came walking out of the helicarrier and stood before the two.
"Nice to see you again, Superman." Fury said. "It's been a long time."
"Wish I could… say the same…" Clark replied. "It's hard to… when you're putting that… in front of me."
Nick Fury looked at the two agents and signaled them to put the rocks away. They obeyed as the Kryptonians got up with Superwoman getting extremely angry with her eyes red.
"YOU MOTHERFU-" Claire screamed as she was about to lunge at Fury.
Superman caught her and shook his head, making her calm down a bit.
"What do you want from me?" Superman asked.
"We recently received a message, Superman." Fury replied. "We believe it has something to do with you, since it was sent from a planet far away. As far as I'm concerned, you're the only alien we have here."
"Wow, talk about racial discrimination." Claire fired at him.
"We can't take any chances; we need to make sure that you are keeping your nose clean while we figure out what this means." Fury said. "You've already met agents Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton."
They turned to see them looking back at them with their arms crossed.
"They'll be on the lookout for you, so whether you like it or not, we got our eye on you." Fury said.
The three of them walked back to the helicarrier as it flew away, leaving the two alone in the building.
"Well then, this should be fun." Clark said. Claire watched closely as the helicarrier flew out of their distance…she scoffed at the notion but her father was right.
This would be fun.
