Chapter 2 Data Recovery & Investigation
A.N. – So this was originally gonna be two chapters, but I combined them into one as they would be super short. So, this will change between Evil William and the Lyoko Spies point of views. Enjoy!
Short Summary – The Lyoko Spies start to investigate the prison to see if they can find any leads on how Evil William escaped or who helped him. Meanwhile, Evil William returns to null island to see what still remains from the final fight.

The Lyoko Spies geared up with all their outfits and the gadgets from last time. The only thing that was missing was the tracker, knowing that they would remain in France to stop Evil William. The Lyoko Spies were more on edge this time as Yumi and Aelita were both pregnant. They all knew the risk the girls were taking, but still the concern remained.
"Okay, where to first?" Ulrich asks.
"Null island. The lab is there. It's probably where he is headed" Odd says.
"Maybe, but there is someone else who is behind this. Someone wants the security program back. I think we should investigate the prison, see if we can find out who helped him" Aelita adds.
"So, our first location is the prison" Yumi finishes.
Evil William arrived at Africa through traveling with his super smoke ability. He found a place where he could easily reach null island. He then found an area where no one saw him before using his ability to travel across the Atlantic.
He arrived at null island and saw that the lab was dark. It appeared to be shut down but all he had to do was reactivate it. He traveled to where the main power switch was.
The Lyoko Spies went to the prison. All the guards that were killed were replaced by SWAT officers or federal agents until permanent replacements were found. They approached the front gates and were stopped by the agents.
"Access denied. In case you have clearance or an officer, you can't get in" the agent told them.
"We're here on government business" Yumi told him, pulling out a badge. "Agent Chris sent us."
"Agent Chris, huh. I know him. Head of the spy agency. Okay, you can head in. Just avoid the cells. The inmates are a little rowdier since the breakout."
Once they were inside, they headed up to the surveillance room to view the security cameras.
Evil William used a flashlight to traverse the dark corridors of the now inactive lab. He found the main power room and the power was currently off. He flips the lever up and the lab jumps to life. The corridors light up and the shiny metal shines like nothing ever happened.
"Time to find out where my masters resurrection program remains" Evil William said before he headed back to the control room.
In the surveillance room, the Lyoko Warriors were watching Evil William's cell, fast forwarding until something of interest appeared. Nothing so far, just the normal passing guard. Then suddenly someone appeared in front of his cell.
"Stop the footage. Who is that?" Ulrich asks.
"I don't know. He's facing the wrong way" Aelita responds.
"Do we have audio?"
Aelita flipped the switch for audio.
"I can tell you don't want to be here" the man said.
"Who wants to be in prison?" He responded rhetorically.
"I can assist you in getting out, but you need to promise to do something for me."
"What?"
"Resurrect him."
Evil William smiled evilly and smirked. "With pleasure." He got up and walked up to him. "But how?"
"You'll know when."
"So, he's behind the prison break" Aelita concluded.
"Who is he?" Yumi asks.
"Don't know. We can't see his face" Ulrich responds.
"Is there a different camera angle facing where the man approaches from?" Aelita asks the security camera officer.
"Let me look," the officer says as he searches through the cameras. He finds one. "This is one."
They fast forward the footage until the man comes into view. They pause and then zoom in on the man's face. They get a clear face. The man has a face full of a beard.
"Who is this guy?" Odd asks and Aelita steps back in horror.
"I…know…him!" Aelita exclaims in horror.
"You do?" Ulrich questions.
"Yes, unfortunately. Come back to my house and I'll explain."
Evil William activates the terminal and then accesses the program and functions. "Hmm, the data was erased. The spies may have it in their memory banks. But the power machine is still functional. Then the spies will be my key to my master's resurrection. I just need them to be mine."
He then started to work on a way to find out how to access their memory banks.
The gang all rendezvoused at Aelita and Jeremy's house, which use to be the Hermitage. They all gathered upstairs in Aelita's old room, which got fixed up to be a spare bedroom. She grabbed a photo from the storage closet and showed them.
"This picture is the whole original Project Carthage team. The man with the full beard is the project lead or project manager. He led the whole team throughout the development" Aelita explains to them.
"How do you know him?" Ulrich asks.
"My father talked about him. I knew about the men chasing us. He explained not to worry about it. But when the men in black came after us, he believed that man was behind everything."
Flashback
Aelita and Franz have finally settled in their new home at the Hermitage. Franz feared that since they knew where he was hiding, he had to get away some where they could be safe, for a time. Franz knew he had to destroy Carthage, but he had no way to do it for now. He put the picture up and focused on these men who he thought he could trust. Just then, Aelita walked in.
"Daddy, who are those men?" Aelita asked walking up and pointing to the photo.
"They used to my friends and coworkers. But now I believe they will try to hurt us" Franz replied.
"Why? We didn't do anything to them."
"It's no you, it's what your father did. They wanted me to turn myself in, and in order to do that, they took your mom."
"Mommy…" Aelita trailed off, remembering.
"Don't worry. Daddy will make everything right and will find your mother. But keep an eye out for men in black."
"Why?"
"Because this man," Franz pointed to a specific person. "He is most likely who is behind the kidnapping of your mother."
End of Flashback
"If I ever saw him, and if I do, I'll give him a piece of my mind. But for what he is involved in now, I want to fuckin kill him!" Aelita said.
"Wait, didn't we see this man when Jeremy decoded Project Carthage back when the security program was created?" Yumi asked, thinking the man looked familiar.
"Most likely. I just didn't think we would ever see him again. That's why I didn't say anything when we first saw it. I though he was dead."
"Apparently not" Ulrich said looking at the picture.
Aelita got a call. "Hello?"
"Miss Aelita, this is the chief of security from the prison. We got new audio that I think you might want to hear" the man said.
"Coming right away."
"No, we'll send it to you."
"Okay." She hung up. "We got new evidence."
Evil William finally found a way to get what they knew about the resurrection program. He would start a work on a machine that he could use to drain their memories on the program or what they saw. He smirked evilly as he knew that his master would soon be back.
Aelita logged onto her computer in the bedroom with her friends and accessed the email that the prison sent her. She accessed it. "This is from the day of the breakout."
"You made it" the mystery man says.
"What do we do now?" Evil William asked.
"Find your way to the lost and found. Get a believable outfit and do whatever you have to bring back the security program."
"And you?"
"I've got a 'date' with a special agent who stole something from me."
"Who is this agent?" Yumi asked.
"Chris" Aelita responded.
"Why him?" Ulrich asks.
"If this guy has anything to do with Project Carthage, he wants it back from Chris who used it to create the security program."
"Chris is in danger" Odd realizes.
Agent Chris was working on his computer doing other things, when he received a call.
"Agent Chris here" he said pressing a button.
"Chris, it's Aelita. Are you at the headquarters?" she asks.
"Yes, why?"
"Leave now! Someone is coming after you!"
"Aelita, you have a mission, and I don't have the time for practical jokes."
"This is not a joke! This is real! Hide somewhere and leave now!"
"Aelita, what is going on?"
"Someone from Project Carthage is coming to reclaim it."
"I don't have that anymore. You stole it from me, and it died when the security program was defeated."
"That's why he broke out Evil William. He thinks that he will resurrect Project Carthage."
"Listen, do what you have to do. The building is highly protected with highly trained agents. These guys are trained killers. Plus, no one gets in without clearance."
He hung up, but didn't know the danger that he would soon be in.
"We have to find Evil William immediately!" Aelita says knowing the situation is now drastic.
The four headed out to try to find out where Evil William could have gone. Suddenly, someone called out to them.
"Hey, you four. You looking for someone? I might have some info for you" a man with a hoodie and jeans asked.
The four followed him and he unzipped his jacket and the four noticed the sign on his chest. They were all blinded and knocked unconscious. The man, who was Evil William looked down at them.
"Now then, you have something that belongs to me" Evil William said as he prepared to transfer the Lyoko Spies back to his base.
Agent Chris was working on his computer searching for this man. He believes he found something when someone walked through.
"Yes, what can I do for you?" Agent Chris asked.
"Well, you can give me back what you stole from me" the man said.
Agent Chris looked up and saw the man he was researching. "You…"
"Now then Agent Chris, it's time we have a discussion."
He locks the doors and Agent Chris was defenseless…
A.N. – Now the problems begin! The Lyoko Spies are now trapped, and Agent Chris is now trapped. How will both events end? Find out next time!
