Chapter 4 Last Stand
A.N. – I believe this story will be ending soon. It may be a few chapters shorter than season 1. I don't know the exact count yet. This was set to be longer, but I felt that a lot of chapters could be combined into one. Also, big changes for this chapter. Let's begin! P.S. DO NOT SKIP TO THE END!
Short Summary – The Lyoko Spies make it their final mission to stop Evil William before trying to stop the man behind Project Carthage. Agent Chris fears for his life, as well as the threat of the security program returning looms.

The Lyoko Spies have no recollection of what happened in the dream state they were in. They're main focus now is to stop Evil William. Agent Chris travels with them as he fears the return of the man. He believes that if he is with them, his chances of survival are higher. Since the threat level is higher than last time, Agent Chris uses all his government power to help the spies out as much as possible. Their first stop was null island.
"I hope he is there" Yumi says as they travel.
"Mostly unlikely. He wouldn't go to the same place twice" Aelita replies to her.
"Where else could he go?" Ulrich asks.
"That's what this mission going to tell us" Odd tells him.
"Let's just hope we're not too late" Aelita says softly.
Agent Chris looked at her with worry. 'I hope too Aelita' he thought.
With Agent Chris no longer in control of the spy agency, the building was almost left unprotected. A door opens and an agent comes flying with a huge mark on his face.
"Now listen, you're going to access Chris' office. Understand?" a man says pointing a gun at his forehead.
"I can't. Only Agent Chris can access his office. And if I could, I need his approval" the agent replied.
"Don't fuck with me. You WORK at this place. You should know every goddamned code to override all security systems."
The agent rose slowly. "I may know something."
"Good. Also, don't fuck with me again," he cocked the gun. "Or I blow your fucking brains out and find someone else."
The agent and man went to main control room. The agent had the gun pushed against his back as they walked.
The spies and Agent Chris were approaching null island. All seemed quiet around the island as nothing was happening. No red beam shooting up. No monsters defending the base. Nothing. This gave everyone aboard a false sense of security as well as sense of uneasiness.
"Let's lower the rope and slide down" Agent Chris said.
The rope lowered and the spies and Agent Chris entered the unactive lab. They all looked around and the equipment looked like it wasn't used in a while. All machines have dust on them as well as a few cobwebs.
"There's no way he was here. This equipment is inactive and all dusty" Ulrich stated.
Yumi touched a machine. "If he wasn't here, then why is this warm?" Yumi said to them.
"You can't blame the sun. This machine is covered at all hours of the day" Agent Chris told them.
Aelita swiped the dust with a white glove. "This dust is relatively new too. Like a day ago."
"Someone wanted us to think this wasn't used" Odd realized.
"No someone tried to deter us. I think that someone was Evil William. Replaced the dust and cobwebs and shut everything down, hoping we would leave it."
"Meaning?" Ulrich asked.
"If he put this much effort into trying to hide it, there is something here that will tell us what we need."
They all descended down to the power room and Aelita flipped the master switch and the facility jumped to life. They all went back to the main lab. Aelita accessed the terminal. She immediately found something related to where he went.
"This file contains alternate zenith points" Aelita states.
"But I thought the main zenith was right here" Yumi asked.
"Yes, but if you find another zenith, you can get exactly what we had here."
"So, he is moving to a new location. Only question is where?" Ulrich asked.
Aelita got to thinking and pulled up a map of Europe. She knew what the security program wanted, and she knew there was few possible spots for his return. "Paris…" She thought what he could use. The tower no longer existed, but there was one thing that remained. "Oh no!"
"Aelita, what is it?"
"We have to get back to Paris immediately!"
"Why?" Yumi says.
"If Evil William needs a reliable power source to resurrect the security program, he is probably gonna use the supercomputer and the lab!"
Evil William entered the supercomputer room as the elevator opened. The supercomputer rose and he powered it up. He then ascended to lab and accessed a personal file he downloaded into his databank. He then used his powers to create a hole in the ceiling that would allow the zenith machine to work. The beam would extend from the holocase and he would reappear in the scanner.
"My plan will work this time. My master will be resurrected!" Evil Exclaimed as his plans was almost complete…and the sun approached its zenith above Paris.
A man and agent entered the control room.
"Override the security system to Agent Chris' office" the man told him.
He typed on the keyboard and entered multiple commands. He hit enter and all security was given administrator access, which required a special code that was given to all agents. They returned to Agent Chris' office and the agent entered the code and the doors opened.
Agent Chris received an alert. "On no! Okay then let's dance."
Once they were inside, the man had all he needed. "I have no need for you anymore, but I'm not gonna kill ya." The man swung the butt of his gun to back of the agent's head, knocking him out. He cuffed his arms, legs, and chained him to pipes outside the office. The man accessed the terminal to find out what Chris and his spies had planned.
The Lyoko Spies and Agent Chris Rushed back to Paris. As they approached, Agent Chris got ready to jump.
"What are you doing?" Aelita asked.
"I've got a personal matter to attend too!" Agent Chris said.
"But we need you!" Yumi says.
"No, you don't! Stop Evil William! That's your main and primary objective! That is your mission and mine defending my spy agency! Good luck! I'll rendezvous with you soon in Paris!" He jumped and planned to defend his spy agency. 'Hope your ready motherfucker! Cause I'm coming for you!' he thought as he dove down towards one of the secret entrances he knew about.
The Lyoko Spies continued on their objective towards their old hideout, the factory. As they approached, they remembered everything that happened in their past.
"I thought we've seen the last of this place after we shut down the supercomputer" Ulrich said.
"I thought we've seen the last of it after the war ended" Yumi added.
They all saw a red beam shooting up to the sky.
"Looks like he is getting ready to try again" Aelita states.
"Just means we have to move faster" Yumi adds.
"I'm gonna put you down next to the bridge approach" the pilot said as he descended towards ground level.
They all exited and thanked the pilot before they walked the bridge to the factory. They all had a sense of dread and déjà vu the closer they got.
Agent Chris entered the building and immediately activated the emergency evacuation procedure. A red light and alarm activated with a voice through the intercom.
"An emergency has been reported in the building! Everyone is to be evacuated immediately! This is not a drill!" The voice repeated as Agent Chris headed to his office. It was time for a little one-on-one.
The Lyoko Spies all walked closer, side-by-side, and they all had visions of their time here. Odd remembered the time he walked here through a snowstorm to assist Aelita after Xana launched a weather-based attack. Yumi started to remember the time Xana tried to destroy it with the bulldozers. Ulrich remembered when he first came here with Jeremy after saving him. As for Aelita, the visions she had were from her past before her friends. The only good thing that this place had for her was when she had her first time here with Jeremy. They all slid jumped down onto the ground floor.
"Now where do we go?" Ulrich asked.
"To the laboratory" Aelita responded.
"Would it be smarter to go to the supercalculator" Odd asked, gesturing to the elevator.
"No, one he is expecting us to do that, so it could easily be a trap. And second, as far as he knows we're not here yet."
At this time, Aelita forgot about the security cameras. Evil William was watching them as they headed towards the boiler.
"Unfortunately for you, you're just too late," Evil William said as he activated the machine, and the sun reached its zenith. "This time, I will not fail."
Agent Chris was almost at his office when he saw an agent chained to a wall. He unlocked all his chains and his body fell limp, like he was dead. Fortunately, he was still alive, but barely.
"Who did this?" Agent Chris asked them.
"The man…in your…office" the agent responded weakly.
"Who is he?"
"He said…you have something…that belongs…to him."
"I know all too well who you're talking about," Agent Chris stood him up. "Get out and get help for yourself. I'll deal with this issue." The agent walked away slowly as Agent Chris approached his office. He opened the door.
As he did, he saw the man behind his desk. He pulled his gun and Agent Chris did the same. They were in a standoff mode. No one was going to make the first move.
"Well, we meet again" Agent Chris started.
"I told you, you can run, but not hide" the man said.
"I never tried to run. I needed help."
"And you have none. How pathetic."
"No, I realized that in order to overcome a situation, I have to deal with it myself. This is more personal. I have a score to settle with you."
"I'm here, so just shoot already."
"You can do better than that."
"Don't trust me."
"I've never been known to fire the first shot. You know it and I know it. We'll both end up dead, no matter who fires first."
"You're smarter than you look."
"I'm not a complete idiot, like someone I know."
"So, throw your gun down."
"You first."
"Don't trust me?"
"Never gave me a reason to."
He threw his gun away from him and Agent Chris did the same. He lunged at him and Agent Chris blocked him.
The Lyoko Spies all made their way through the boiler room and made their way up the ladder to the laboratory. They all peeked in and saw that he activated the machine.
"We gotta move" Ulrich said.
"You two go in" Aelita asked.
"Why not all four of us?" Odd asked.
"We might miscarry. Pregnant, hello?" Yumi said to them.
"Ready Odd?" Ulrich asked him.
"Anytime, good buddy" Odd responded.
"Let's go."
They dropped down and Evil William noticed them.
"Only two of you. Where are the girls?" Evil William asked them.
"They're not coming. Just us now."
"Really? That's not like them, for both of them. Always fighters. They wouldn't happen to be pregnant, would they?" Evil William noticed the expressions on their faces. "Oh, so they are. Maybe I'll let my master keep them alive to raise the children, to have as salves and pets for his new world order."
"Not gonna happen" Odd said aiming at him.
"Sorry, but not this time."
The process completed and Evil William reconfigured the energy into a scanner
"Oh no!" Aelita said quietly as she and Yumi were about to witness the return of the security program along with the boys.
A scanner downstairs was humming and eventually a white light blinded all of them as it opened. A figure stepped up into the laboratory as smoke filled it from the process. As it cleared, they heard a familiar laughing and then they all saw him. The program that turned their world into a wasteland, now more human and eviler, the security program.
"I live!" The security program laughed as the world was once again in danger…
A.N. – The security program has finally returned, new and improved! I know people in other stories make Xana human and bring hi into the real world. Those type of stories are not the inspiration behind this. I only did this to make him harder to defeat. Since he is organic, he has acquired superhuman strength and power, plus no programs can kill him. Also, Agent Chris has his own problems to deal with. Who will triumph and who will fall?
