Skylar: Hola chicos y chicas! Hope you are all having a lindo day! Here's another chapter for this book! I think this chapter you all might like. But as I said before, the Sing characters don't belong to me. Only my OC's and my plot. One more thing, I'm changing the reader's age to T, because there might be some scenes, just as a precaution. Anyways, enjoy!
Later in the night…
Irene still couldn't believe that she finally has someone who was willing to take her in. Not only that but she wanted an older brother as well. However, what made her the most shocked was that the older brother she wanted was also someone she looked up to.
She smiled over the fact with what happened in the past 7 hours of her day. What started out horrible, turned into an amazing day.
There was a knock at her door. "Irene? Can I come in?" Johnny asked.
Irene got up and sat on the bed. "Yeah, you can come in!" She called.
Johnny opened the door and walked in. "Hey." He said with a smile.
"Hey, bailador!" She said with a smile.
Johnny's face changed to a confused look. "Bailador?" He repeated.
Irene nodded. "Yeah. It means dancer in Spanish. Sorry, I just couldn't help it." She said with a sheepish smile.
He chuckled. "No, that's alright. So, you speak Spanish?" He asked, sitting on the other bed across from Irene's.
Irene nodded again in agreement. She spoke. "Yeah. I'm half. Colombian half American. And since you're my new older brother, I can tell you about myself. If you want."
"Absolutely. I was wondering about you earlier when you went out with the girls. And I do want to get to know you better, sis." Johnny said.
Irene smiled when Johnny said 'sis', then she spoke. "Well, my mom was originally from Colombia, she was a kinkajou, and my dad was from here, who was also a kinkajou, and they met, fell in love, and well here I am." She gestures to herself. "Oh, and I also had two older brothers." She added.
"Wait, where are your parents or brothers? Did they abandon you or something?" Johnny asked with concernment, but also a hint of anger.
Irene's eyes widen. She waved her hands in a no gesture. "No, no, no! They didn't! They were really loving parents. And although my brothers were annoying and crazy, they loved me too. But… something happened." She said, her voice breaking.
Johnny's eyes widen, worried that he hurt his new little sister. "I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you!" He said, then reached to swipe the few tears that started trickling from her eyes.
Irene looked up at him. "N-No you didn't! It's just…" She drew a shaky breath. "There was an incident that made me lose… my family."
Johnny stood and the sat down on Irene's bed, next to her. "You want to talk about it?" He asked.
Irene wanted to say no, but this was Johnny. He was sweet, kind, and very caring. He was also a good listener too, at least in Irene's opinion. Irene nodded and told her story. She cried through it, but she kept going, and Johnny was rubbing her back, listening clearly to his little sister's story. After she told her story, Johnny hugged her in comfort, and assured her that he will protect her from now on.
After they hugged, Irene asked about Johnny's life and who his parents were, since Johnny's her new older brother, she wanted to know about her new parents. Johnny was hesitant, but he told the truth about his life and who his dad is and where he was. He explained that his father's sentence was almost up, and that he was looking forward to seeing him.
In all honesty, Irene was shocked that her new dad was a criminal, but judging the way Johnny described him, she learned that he was a changed man. "Well, I'm surprised. But I would like to meet him." She said softly with a gentle yet excited smile. At that moment, there was a knock at the front door. Both Irene and Johnny looked at the doorway that led to the hallway and stairs. "Who could that be?" Johnny asked, then they both left the room and down the stairs.
Irene stood at the bottom of the stairs while Johnny went to open the door. Once he opened it, he froze. "Dad?" He whispered.
At the entrance stood a gorilla who looked remarkably like Johnny, only bigger, and older. He widened his arms. "Hello, son." The gorilla said with a smile, having a deep voice but with a British accent.
Johnny ran to him and embraced his dad. "I can't believe it!" He cried out. "What are you doing here? I thought they gave you a longer sentence."
"Well, they released me early for good behavior, 'nd I wanted to surprise you." Johnny's father explained.
Johnny released a disbelief chuckle. "Well, you certainly surprised me." He suddenly remembered he had to introduce his dad to his new little sister. "And speaking of surprises, I have one for you too." He moved out of the entrance to let his dad in. Johnny's dad looked around, then saw Irene. At Johnny's father's height, Irene looked small.
"Dad, I want to introduce you to your new daughter and my new little sister, Irene. Irene, meet my dad, Matthew." He gestured to each other, and Irene slowly walked to Matthew. "Nice to meet you Mr. Matthew." She said, then pulled out a hand for a handshake.
For a moment, Matthew had a shocked face, and he stayed still. Irene started to panic on the inside, worried that her new father would dislike her. Her face slowly fell, and she lowered her hand. But then she was pulled into a tight hug and lifted from the floor. Her eyes widen, completely not expecting a hug from a new father she just met.
"I can't believe I finally have a daughter!" Matthew cried out of joy. He hugged her tighter, and Irene laughed and hugged him back, then asked, "Then can I call you Dad or Pa?"
"Either one, as long as it means dad!" He spoke. Irene laughed again. "Ha ha, okay dad, can you, um, put me down? I don't want you to crush me since I'm your new daughter so…"
"Oh right." He chuckled and placed Irene down. He then pulled Johnny in and gave a group hug. "How about tomorrow we all go out? As a new family and to get to know you, better, huh?"
Irene smiled then looked at Johnny with a hopeful look. Johnny spoke. "Well, we have to go to Mr. Moon's theater tomorrow in the morning, but I think we're free in the afternoon."
Irene squealed. "Yay! Well then, better get to bed! Love you both!" She gave them both a hug then left upstairs to her new bedroom, getting ready for bed, and looking forward to the exciting day in the morning.
The Next Morning…
"Bye dad!" Irene and Johnny said in union while leaving the apartment. "We'll see you at the movies at 2, right?" Johnny asked. "Yep!" Matthew called out. "Have fun!"
Irene and Johnny were walking in the nice sunshine out and heading to the Moon Theater. "So, Johnny I have two questions to ask. If you don't want to answer that's okay." Irene says.
"Oh, that's okay. I know you want to get to know me better, so you can ask any questions." He spoke.
"Great! So, question 1: Do you go to the theater every day? And do you think I can get a part time job there?" She said while walking backwards to face Johnny.
"Every day, no. But we do go to the theater at least 4 times a week. And when we have a show, that's when we go every day for practice. Also, for that other question, I think Mr. Moon might have something for you." He said with a nod.
Irene's face beamed over the fact that she might get a job if possible. "Nice! Now for question 2: Are you single or in a relationship?"
That question made Johnny immediately stop. "W-What? Um, no. I'm not."
Irene was surprised by that answer. "Really? Sorry, I just assumed you were in a relationship cause, well, you're a nice guy and I just thought that whoever you were dating must be nice."
Johnny was touched that Irene thought he was nice but, dating? He didn't even think about it much.
"Nope. I don't think to much in dating." He said with a shrug then continued to walk.
Irene wanted to talk more about it, but if there was one thing she learned from her parents, it would be to not talk about a subject someone isn't interested in. She shrugged then ran to catch up with Johnny. 5 minutes later, they were at the theater.
They walked in and the first thing they hear is a shout from Mike saying, "BURN IT!"
Irene and Johnny's eyes widen, and they both ran onto the stage and headed to the backstage. What they saw left them confused. Everyone froze when they saw them. There was a bonfire in the middle and a bunch of letters burning in the fire. Irene blinked. "Oh… kay, can someone tell us why there's a bonfire here and why your burning… bills?" She gestures to the bonfire.
"Listen kid, it's better for you NOT to know." Mike said.
"The things we're burning are Johnny's fan mail." Meena explained, ignoring Mike's warning.
Irene realized that the pile of envelopes was fan mail. Some of the envelopes were pink and others had hearts. "Well, that makes sense to the pile of envelopes. But why burn Johnny's fam mail?! There are a bunch of girls who look up to Johnny, so why burn it all?" She said then reached for a letter so Johnny and Irene could read it.
"DON'T!" Everyone yelled, but it was too late. Irene and Johnny were just on the first paragraph when Irene yelped and covered her eyes, while dropping the letter. Johnny's face had a hint of red, and he just picked up the letter and threw it in the bonfire. He said, "Well, now we know."
Irene started to walk away. "Let me know when you all are done burning fan mail!" She said over her shoulder, then left.
Clay shook his head while sighing. He spoke, "We tried, kid."
At the stage…
I need to do something… I can't forget things, so what can I do? Irene thought. After reading that one letter she thought that was innocent, it was very… persistent. She was pacing around the stage and thinking. She sighed and slumped to the floor, thinking on what to do. She then saw a radio and her face lightened up. Maybe…
She got up and turned it on. The radio started to play Latin salsa party music and three men were singing. Irene smiled and she started to sing. Her hips were swaying back and forth, and soon she found herself starting to dance. She continued to do it for a minute and when she spined around, she jumped in surprise, unaware that there was a small audience watching her.
"U-Um how long have you guys stood there?" She asked nervously.
"Long enough to know that you like to sing and dance when no one's watching." Mike said with a smug.
Porsha ran up to her. "Irene what music is that? I really like it." She said, pointing to the radio.
Irene thought, then said, "La Gorzadera, Gente de Zoo-na and Marc Antony. That title means 'The Party" in Spanish. It's one of my favorite songs." She said with excitement. She then gets an idea. "Why don't you guys come and join me?' She said, handing out a hand.
Porsha, Gunter, and Rosita immediately started to dance, letting the music control their body. Everyone else were a bit hesitant. "Come on!" She said amping the volume up and pulling Johnny and Buster. She then started to dance lightly, letting the music control her body. "Just let your body loose and let the music flow through your body!" She explained and continued to dance.
Everyone did and they started to dance as well. Irene saw Gunter's funny, yet smooth salsa, dancing with Rosita, and she laughed. Clay took Irene's hand, and spun her around gently. She smiled and continued to dance. Johnny and Nooshy were doing a little break dance and when Johnny accidently mistook his steps, he ended up catching himself in time, nearly landing on Ash's quills. Ash spun around and saw herself in front of Johnny.
"Oh sorry!" She said, then started to back away.
Johnny quickly said, "No, no that's okay!" He extended a handout. "Want to dance with me?"
Ash looked at him for a moment. She then took his hand. "Sure." She said with a smile, the started to dance. Irene noticed Ash and Johnny dancing, even thought there was a huge height difference, they were enjoying themselves with each other's company. She couldn't help but smile.
A little idea struck while she thought. I wonder if… no, it wouldn't. But could it? She decided it was best to let love take its course for Johnny and Ash. Yet it couldn't hurt to imagine them being together.
Soon the song came to an end, and everyone slowly stopped dancing. "Wow! That was fun!" Porsha said.
"Ya! That dance game me more piggy power!" Gunter said while shaking his hips.
"Yeah, you gotta admit that was fun." Nooshy said.
Irene smiled. "Maybe we can do it another time?" Irene asked hopefully.
Buster said, "As long as you come here with Johnny."
"Deal." She said with a nod.
Johnny looked at his watch, and gasped. "Irene, we got to go! It's nearly 2 o'clock!" He said then started to run. "Caramba!" Irene cried out and followed Johnny.
"Hey, where are you guys going?" Meena asked.
"Our dad just got out and we're going to hang out with him today!" Irene called behind her shoulder.
"Wait, Johnny, your check!" Buster said, waving a check.
"Right!" Johnny immediately stopped and ran back to Buster. He handed him the check. "Thanks Mr. Moon!" johnny said. "Bye! See you guys later!" Irene said, and with that they dashed out of the theater.
Skylar: I know, I'm evil. But not that evil. You'll know what happened to Irene's family later in the story. Also, the song I mentioned is real. It's sung by Gente de Zona and Marc Anthony. I suggest you listen to it while reading so you can get a visual. Another thing, I don't know Big Daddy's name, since it wasn't mentioned in both movies, but I think Matthew is a good name for him. Alright, I'll see you in the next chapter! Adios readers!
