Just as Momonga was admiring the scenery, the sound of a loud thump could be heard not too far away.
"Lord Momonga!" When Momonga turned his head he was met with a small child running up to him.
'Ah isn't that Buku's creation?' Momonga could never forget the creations of Bukubukuchagama. After all, she was always talking about how cute they were. Aura Bella Fiora and Mare Bello Fiore.
"Ah, Aura how have you been?" When Aura finally reached Momonga she was met with her master ruffling her hair.
The guardian wore a beaming smile seeming to enjoy the head pat. "Great lord Momonga! Mare and I have were just finishing our patrol around the floor."
"Speaking of your brother, where is he?" Momonga shifted his view but he couldn't find the other twin.
"Mare get down here! you're making lord Momonga wait!" Aura turned towards the terrace of the Amphitheater.
"It's too tall sis, there is no way I can jump from such a height!" The echo of the voice could be heard all over the grand structure.
"That's not an excuse for making a supreme being wait! hurry up and get down here!" Aura raised her voice.
"Fine!" A little squeak could be heard as something jumped off from the terrace. After the dust settled, the figure which could now be identified as Aura's brother started to run towards the Overlord and its twin.
After a couple of seconds, Mare reached the two. "Sorry for making you wait lord Momonga it wasn't my intention!" The voice that escaped the young elf was devoid of confidence.
"Pay it no mind, it wasn't a bother at all" Momonga replied to the shy dark elf. "I just wanted to inform you two that in around half an hour we will have a meeting with all the other guardians here."
"Does that mean that Shalltear will come?" Aura questioned with a hint of frustration in her voice.
"Yes she will Aura, I know that you two don't get along but she is a fellow guardian. And she is technically your cousin." Momonga knew the fact that the two didn't get along.
It was an obvious assumption since their creators Bukubukuchagama and Peroroncino didn't get along either despite being brother and sister.
"Wait a minute? Lord Momonga, is that the legendary Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown?" As she said that, Aura's eyes seemed to have sparkled.
Momonga chuckled "Indeed, it is. Actually, would you both mind helping me test something? There are some things that I need to check." Momonga wanted to see if the abilities of the staff were the same as they were in the game. He also wanted to see if he could use his spells.
"Of course lord Momonga, we would be honored!" If there was an opportunity that Aura and her brother could be of any assistance to the supreme being then she would gladly take it.
"Great, now let's see, [Summon Primal Fire Elemental]."
As soon as Momonga finished his sentence, the red orb within the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown began to shine. Out of nowhere, a spark could be seen in the direction the staff was pointed.
Soon that spark began to turn into a roaring fire that took shape of a human. It easily towered over the twins.
"Wow so cool!" Aura had seen many fire elementals but none were direct summons of the legendary guild weapon of Nazarick.
"indeed it is, would you like to fight it Aura?" Momonga wanted to test the strength of his summons as well as the guardians.
"I would love to lord Momonga!" after her lord asked if she wanted to fight the elemental there was no way she could decline.
"go on then, we still have time until the other guardians arrive." After Momonga finished his sentence, the young elf ran towards the primal elemental whip in hand.
"L-Lord Momonga is there s-something that I can do?" the other twin asked Momonga.
"Of courses Mare, I also wanted to test out my own abilities. Would you care to fight one of my summons?" Even if summoning the fire elemental did work, Momonga wasn't sure if his own magic worked the same.
"S-sure, I don't mind l-lord Momonga. After giving the young elf a nod Momonga raised his hand and spoke "[Summon High-Tier Undead Skeletal Dragon]!"
Suddenly a couple of meters away a bright light appeared. When the light disappeared a dragon stood in its place.
As its name suggested the dragon was made from bones and nothing more. Instead of eyes, one could see crimson orbs similar to Momonga's.
After a couple of seconds of self-encouragement, Mare went to fight the undead dragon. Some time later, Aura shattered the rock-like armor of the fire elemental, significantly weakening it.
After a couple more hits the primal elemental completely vanished. As if on cue Mare killed the skeletal dragon by snapping its bones with vines.
Though Momonga knew that the summons were no match for the level 100 NPCs, he still decided to offer them a cup of water.
"To be offered something to drink by a supreme being, there is nothing more that we could ask, lord Momonga!" Aura praised the generosity of her lord.
"S-she's right lord Momonga, thank you" Mare said as she drank from her cup.
"Please, think nothing of it, after all, you fought well." Momonga praised.
"Ah, it seems like you finished your fights just in time." As soon as Momonga finished his sentence, a void that seemed to defy reality opened not too far from them.
Out of this world defying portal stepped out the guardian of the 1st to 3rd floor, Shalltear Bloodfallen.
As soon as she spotted Momonga she dashed towards him dropping her umbrella which right before hitting the floor, turned into bats.
"My lord, it's so good to see you!" Shalltear said as she hugged Momonga.
"Get off him you lamprey!" Aura screamed as she pulled Shalltear of him.
"Now, now, be kind to Shalltear Aura, she didn't do anything wrong." Momonga didn't really mind if the vampiric guardian hugged him.
"Please forgive me lord Momonga" Aura apologised as Shalltear gave her a smug smile.
Not even a minute later, three other guardians appeared.
Cocytus, the mighty warrior and guardian of the frozen prison, known for his expertise in melee combat.
Demiurge, the ever scheming arch-devil in-charge of organising and planning Nazarick's defences.
And the overseer Albedo.
"Lord. Momonga. It. Is. A. Pleasure. To. See. You!" The giant insectoid said exhaling a cold breeze from his mandibles.
"It's just as Cocytus says my lord, though I am intrigued at the purpose of this meeting" The devilish guardian replied.
"My lord, I have done as you requested, every guardian except Gargantua is present" The overseer announced seeking praise from her lord.
"Well done Albedo, though we are still missing someone." Albedo froze, imagining the prospect that she failed her master.
'No, impossible! I gathered every guardian, no-one should be missing. Shalltear, Cocytus, Demiurge, Aura & Mare. No-one is missing!' The overseer counted everyone that was present.
As if waiting for the perfect moment, another gate similar to Shalltear's appeared just next to Momonga. Out from the gate came a cheery Rubedo, not even a second later one could see her clinging as tightly to the lord of Nazarick as she could.
"Hi lord Momonga! I did just as you asked and asked Aureole if her scrying magic worked. Thankfully it seems it does." Rubedo said as she let go of Momonga.
Not knowing who Rubedo was, Aura rushed towards Momonga hoping to protect him. "Calm down Aura, she is not a threat." Momonga said before the guardian of the 6th floor could do anything stupid.
Since none of the guardians have ever gone to the 8th floor except for Albedo its safe to say that they didn't know Rubedo or its other inhabitants.
"Allow me to introduce the guardian of the 8th floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, Rubedo, she is also Albedo's younger sister." Momonga stated.
"Ah, so she is the famed guardian that managed to kill most of the forces that invaded the Tomb of Nazarick." Demiurge said as he lifted his glasses.
"You flatter me Demiurge, it was no big deal. After all, they did try to destroy the great tomb, what kind of guardian would I be if I let them through? Rubedo responded.
"Lord Momonga?" Albedo asked.
"Yes Albedo, what is it?" Momonga replied
"Isn't she never supposed to leave the 8th floor, I am not against it but I do wonder why you let her out now of all times?" Albedo asked Momonga not knowing why her younger sister was present.
"Your'e correct that she previously never left the 8th floor. But right now we are in an unknown situation. It seemed like common sense to let her out since she is stronger than any other guardian, another layer of protection wouldn't hurt." Momonga replied hoping to seize the worries of the guardian overseer.
"Now I understand, thank you for bestowing a fraction of your limitless knowledge unto us." Albedo now understood why her sister was present.
*Beep*Beep* [Lord Momonga]
[What is it sebas, did you find anything?] Momonga asked the butler of steel through [Message]
[Yes my lord, it would seem that we are no longer within the marshes of Helheim]
[Most interesting, come to the 6th floor immediately to report your findings.] Momonga answered. He was honestly curious about what else the butler found.
[I shall be there immediately, I would also like to inform you that me and CZ2128 Delta have found a Human about 7 kilometers away from the tomb, he was alone.
We did have to use force as he tried to attack us the moment he saw us. I estimate him to be around level 57]
[Bring him with you but make sure he is restrained] Momonga honestly didn't expect for Sebas to meet someone.
[It shall be as you command my lord]
Not even a minute later, for the third time today, a gate appeared and out stepped Sebas, Shizu, and a man in bindings.
"Great, now Sebas, would you like to report your findings to me and the guardians?" Momonga asked.
"With pleasure my lord" Sebas said as he bowed and turned towards the guardians.
"First, it would seem that we are no longer in the marshes of Helheim." As Sebas spoke many gasps could be heard.
"Everything that currently surrounds the tomb for around 10 kilometers is purely grasslands."
"While scouting we encountered this young man. Before we even had to opportunity to talk to him he charged us with the intent of killing us."
As soon as Sebas finished his sentence the amphitheater was filled with killing intent.
The man had short blond hair that was slicked back with narrow grey eyes. He was equipped with a decorative set of armor. He also is wearing a choker and an earring on his left ear. His weapon was a very large lance around the length of his body which now was in the custody of Shizu Delta.
The man had a fearful look in his eyes, clearly knowing that wherever he was, he wasn't safe.
"Sebas, could you remove his mouth gag?" Momonga wanted to get answers and he wanted them fast.
"Certainly lord Momonga" The butler did as he was asked.
"Tell me, who are you, and why did you attack my servants?" Momonga asked.
"Screw you undead! I have no reason to answer a vile being such as you!" The man shouted.
The killing intent in the room turned so dense that one could choke on it.
"Maybe you need a little more encouragement. [Reality Slash]" Suddenly a rift in space opened where the man was positioned.
After the rift had disappeared his torso had been separated into halves. He lifelessly fell to the ground. Strangely, there was no blood.
"[True Resurrection]" Momonga spoke.
two seconds later the two halves of the man had stitched themselves back-together.
The man gasped for air, not knowing how he was still alive.
"Now, we can do this the easy way, or the we can do this the hard way." Momonga spoke with authority.
Anddddddd thats chapter 4. I know that Momonga doesn't have any means of resurrection apart from his wand of resurrection, but I wanted to give him a means of resurrecting someone without using an item. This is a fan-fiction after all so... Anyways see you in chapter 5!
