Hi! Sorry for the late upload, school has just been a pain recently. I had to write an entire story in a certain class and that took quite a while to get done. Thankfully I have managed to finish this chapter. We have almost reached the battle of Carne. From that point, there will be some major differences compared to the canon story. NOTICE: I am looking for a beta reader since I want some feedback before posting a chapter. Anyways let's begin.

"[Forgive me if I am disturbing you lord Momonga, but there is something I would like to report.]" Aura asked her master in a cheery voice. "[What is it Aura]?" Momonga asked, curious about what the guardian had to say. "[One of my scouts has reported that two groups have been spotted near Nazarick.]" Aura said in a serious tone.

"[Explain.]" Momonga commanded. "[One of the groups is currently setting up tents and preparing dinner for themselves. My scouts have counted fifty humans inside the camp whilst another ten are patrolling the area. There could be more, but if there are then they must be high-leveled thieves or assassins. They currently reside in the forest east of Nazarick.]" Aura responded.

"[In contrast to the first, the second group only number twenty. They seem to be at a much higher level than the ones in the forest. Though traveling through plains, they are able to mask themselves with mid leveled invisibility spells, 6th tier if I had to guess. Of course, my scouts have been able to detect them without a problem but if they are able to disguise themselves in such ways they might be capable of other things.]" Aura continued.

"[Has either group spotted you yet?]" Momonga inquired in a worried tone. "[No my lord, I have made it clear to my beasts that they should not be detected.]" Aura responded. "[Good, keep an eye on them, if anything interesting happens make sure to inform me.]" Momonga informed the guardian.

"[Of course lord Momonga!]" Aura replied in her usual joyous tone. Momonga nodded to himself and proceeded to end the [Message].

Out near the Katze Plains

"Hey Niggun, doesn't it feel like someone is watching us?" The captain of one of the most revered scriptures asked, slightly strengthening his grip over his adamantite spear. "That's impossible, we're hidden thanks to the protection of the great gods. There is no way anyone could see us at the moment." Niggun responded. "Yeah, I hope you're right," Novus responded, erasing any doubts from his mind.

"Anyways, what do you think caused the earthquake?" Novus asked, moving on from the previous topic. "It could be the revival of the Catastrophe Dragon Lord, if it is then thank the Six Great Gods the cardinals gave us this holy relic," Niggun said as he patted the pouch that hung by his waist. "If it was indeed the revival of the Catastrophe Dragon Lord then we will need way more than twenty soldiers to defeat it," Novus commented. "You couldn't have said it better my friend," Niggun added.

"Anyways, we're getting closer to our destination. We should be there by tomorrow evening." Novus said as he sighed. The revival of the Catastrophe Dragon Lord was something that the theocracy had to be 100% ready for. Unlike most Dragon Lords, the Catastrophe Dragon Lord was known for its unparalleled ability to summon fire elementals without end. The only reason that it was even defeated was thanks to the Greed Kings. Although the bastards were responsible for the deaths of millions he had to give them credit for the amount of power that they wielded.

"Sir!" An out of breath man approached Novus and Nigun. "What is it, soldier?" Niggun asked a little annoyed at his interruption. "One of the soldiers that just returned from guard duty decided to wander off into the forest, he just returned." The soldier said. Niggun's face contorted into one of anger. "How dare he!" Niggun exclaimed. "Bring him before us," Novus commanded. "Yes sir!" The soldier bowed and ran off to find his comrade.

"He better have a damn good reason for what he did," Novus said to no one in particular. A couple of minutes later the previous soldier returned, this time with the soldier who had gone out into the forest of Tob. "Soldier, I have been informed that you entered the Forest of Tob without permission. What say you?" Novus asked. "It is as you say, my lord. I disobeyed orders and strayed from the foreseen path." The soldier said without fear.

"You insolent fool! How dare you!" Niggun shouted. "Did you at least have a good reason for doing so?" Novus asked, squinting his eyes at the soldier. "Yes my lord. During my patrol, I spotted smoke coming from within the forest. I decided to investigate, and when I reached the source I discovered a group of soldiers, they bared the crest of the Kingdom. I believe that one of those soldiers was Gazef Stronoff himself." The soldier bloviated, his voice slathered in pride.

"That's a bold assumption, but if what you say is true, then we may have the opportunity of ridding the kingdom of their most valued soldier, we were planning on doing so anyway," Niggun acknowledged. "But if what you say ends up being false then expect yourself you be... removed from your position." Niggun asserted. "O-Of course sir! I would never lie to you, that would be nothing but an insult to the Six Great Gods themselves!" The soldier cried. "Yes, now return to your post. This time, if you find something of note inform us before you act." Novus added. "Of course sir!" The soldier said as he started to walk off.

"Now, this could be interesting," Novus remarked. "It seems the Great Gods have blessed us with a grand opportunity," Niggun smirked.

Back in the Great Tomb of Nazarick

After praising the guardians a couple more times, Momonga had decided to return to his private quarters on the 10th floor. He had been thinking of going outside the tomb to explore the new world. He wanted to go explore and look for his friends. Even if he was the only member of Ainz Ooal Gown that stayed online during the closing of the servers, Momonga held on to the hope that one of his friends ended up in the same situation as he did.

Momonga was currently organizing his inventory since he hadn't done so in a long time. Our beloved overlord was a top-class hoarder, he always kept items no matter how useless they were. He even had the items that he possessed when he was level 1. Grimoires, summoning items, gold, clothes, food, you name it! Momonga had been doing this for the past 7 hours. Aura had occasionally messaged him about the 2 groups of humans and their locations. The group that had resided within the large forest was heading towards Nazarick's direction, which slightly worried Momonga. The second group seemed to have slowed down, it looked like they were following the first group and wanted to remain hidden.

Momonga had used this strategy countless times when he was hunting Player Killers in Yggdrasil. He would disguise himself in countless invisibility spells and slowly follow his prey until they were vulnerable enough to be killed. To prevent the same from being done to him, he would usually summon some Hanzos or Eyeball Corpses to survey the area around him. If they spotted something or were killed he would instantly prepare for combat.

Momonga closed his inventory and flopped down into his bed. "Man I'm exhausted! It seems like being undead doesn't protect you from mental fatigue." Momonga brought out a Mirror of Remote Viewing and plopped it right next to him. He had been given the coordinates of both groups so he decided to spy on them a little bit.

After some minutes of pure confusion and trying to figure out how Mirror of Remote Viewing worked Momonga focused on the first group. 'This seems like an invasion of privacy, but at the same time, they should have some anti-divination items equipped.' Momonga mused. 'Isn't that the Crest of the Re-Estize Kingdom?' Momonga asked himself. The information that they obtained from their 'guest' had proven to be invaluable. 'Hmm, it seems that they are heading towards that settlement over there.' A couple of miles away was a village, there were no more than 20 small houses inside it.

'Now onto group numero dos.' Momonga tilted his fingers, making the mirror display the other group. 'Interesting, though they are also wearing the same armor, these guys are using magic.' After some more 'conversations' with their prisoner, they learned that the kingdom was not a real fan of magic. 'Whatever.' Momonga sighed and returned the mirror to his inventory.

'Up we go' Momonga stood up from his bed, though he wanted to rest more, his new position impeded it. Being an evil mastermind took work. The guardians and the rest of the NPCs viewed him as a god and he wanted to live up to their expectations. He opened the doors that led to his office, walked out of his room, and sat in the pristine wooden chair that lay behind his desk.

"Welcome Lord Momonga! Is there anything I can help you with?" Asked one of the Homunculus maids. "I'm alright, thank you, Foss," Momonga replied. 'Oh my god! Oh my god! Lord Momonga knows my name!' The petite maid was having a breakdown, their benevolent lord knew the name of a simple maid! It really showed how much he cared about them, out of all the 41 Supreme Beings he is the only one that deserved the title of Lord of Nazarick.

Nazarick possessed 41 Homunculus maids, each Supreme Being had their own designated maid. Their creation was a result of Whitebrim's maid obsession. Whitebrim lived by one special motto; Maid outfits are justice! Truly, some of the wisest words ever uttered by mankind. Momonga had created his own homunculus maid, the only difference was that she was stored in a special magical item. She was never meant to be a maid but ended as such after Whitebrim pulled a little 'prank' on him. the two knew each other in real life so they often hung out. One time he had invited his comrade over to his apartment. When Momonga was not looking, Whitebrim changed the design of Momonga's maid via the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown.

She was first meant to be an assassin and the prospect of an assassin maid intrigued Whitebrim. Momonga couldn't change her design since the guild weapon could only do such a thing once. He wasn't really mad since the idea of a combat maid wasn't that bad, that's how he got the idea for the Pleiades. They were supposed to be the last line of defense within the tomb, sadly they never participated in any battle. Out of every group that even attempted to raid Nazarick none had made it past the 8th floor.

"Is there anything that you wish to report?" Momonga restarted the conversation. Snapping back to reality, Foss straightened up and cleared her throat, "Yes my lord. Cocytus had been building up an army of Snow Wendigos and Undead Frost Knights. At the time in which he reported this, approximately 2 hours ago, he had 50 Snow Wendigos and 200 Undead Frost Knights."

"Such force may come in handy, tell Cocytus to inform me if he needs any support on this project," Momonga replied. "Of course my lord," Foss said as she bowed and put one of her fingers up to her temple. "By the way, where is Sebas at the moment?" Momonga asked, curious about the butler's whereabouts. "Master Sebas is currently assisting lady Albedo," Foss answered. "Right," Momonga responded. "Should I call him over my lord?" Foss asked. "That's not necessary."

The room went silent once more. A couple of hours passed, Momonga would occasionally ask the maid about some topic and then go back to work, this cycle continued for a couple more hours until Momonga received another [Message]. ["What is it this time Aura?"] Momonga asked the young elf a little annoyed at being interrupted while working. This was something that Momonga, or rather Suzuki Satoru struggled with when working at the office. ["Am I disturbing you lord Momonga? If so then I deeply apologize!"] the young guardian asked, a little bit worried. ["Not at all Aura, forgive me for speaking to you in such a way."]

["There is no need for you to apologize my lord! Since you asked me to keep you informed about the humans, I thought it was best that I inform you that the two groups have begun to fight. The group that is using magic is greatly overpowering the other group which looks like is defending the aforementioned village"] Momonga brought out the Mirror of Remote Viewing once more as well as some scrolls. "[Scroll of surveillance], [Scroll of Counter Detection]"

Mirror of Remote Viewing is typically unable to broadcast sound, [Scroll of Surveillance] bypasses this factor and makes it possible for the user to hear anything that the magic mirror displays. [Scroll of Counter Detection] prevents the user from being spotted and attacked by most anti-divination abilities or spells. The mirror displayed exactly what Aura had described, The soldiers belonging to the kingdom were getting obliterated by the other group.

'Are those Arc Angel Flames? Interesting' Momonga mused. Before Momonga could respond to the young guardian, a human within the mirror began to speak. You will never lay your filthy fingers on any of the kingdom's civilians! I am my kingdom's blade and I shall protect it from any who try to attack it!" A burly man spoke up, clearly out of breath. The number of injuries that he had received from the angels was quite impressive, for a human it was astounding that he had survived so much damage. "Quite a brave display Stronoff, but we are not here for your people. We came for you, the gods have decided that your path will be cut short." A man with a scar across his face taunted.

"Let's end this quick Niggun, we don't want the kingdom figuring out about our little stunt." A dark-haired gentleman replied to his comrade. "Yes, you are correct. Angels, finish him off," The scarred man ordered, "We still have to investigate the anomaly."

"Come at me, you bastards!" Exclaimed the exhausted man.

["Would you like me to interfere?"] Aura asked her lord. Momonga sighed, ["No, keep watching. Only intervene when you yourself are compromised."] ["Understood,"] Aura didn't really care if some pesky humans were slaughtered. Though the elf twins didn't think humans were an inferior species like the other guardians did, they didn't care if they were killed unless it affected Nazarick and their master.

Suddenly, a distant memory came to Momonga's mind. "Why did you save me?" "I saved you because helping someone in need is the right thing to do! These realms are filled with injustices, and it's my job to assist those who are in need!" Touch Me, the previous leader of Ainz Ooal Gown. The insectoid had a heart of gold. No matter the race, he would help anyone who needed it.

'What would you do in this situation?' Momonga asked, 'Right, it seems life or rather, unlife is about to get a lot more interesting.' Momonga said to himself reminiscing about his now, long gone friend and ally. ["Nevermind, I myself will take care of the situation. Inform the Overseer that I will be leaving Nazarick for a short period of time."] Momonga spoke as he stood up from his throne-like chair. ["Are you sure my lord? I could take care of this myself, there is no need for someone such as you to deal with these humans."]

["I have given you your orders, though you will be informed if I require your assistance."] Momonga repeated. ["I hear and obey my lord."] Said Aura as she ended the message.

"Rubedo, stay here. After further thought, you are best suited as Nazarick's last resort." Momonga addressed an empty spot next to him. A moment later the young and petite Rubedo appeared. "Does that mean that I won't get to fight?" Rubedo pouted. "Sadly," Momonga said as he patted the young girl in the head. "I've already asked Aura to inform the others of my little field trip, just stay here until I return, if this ends up being a distraction [Message] me immediately."

"Yes sir!" Rubedo saluted. "Alright, I'll be off." Momonga turned around and chanted; "[Gate!]" After finishing the incantation a reality-shattering rift appeared before the Undead King. Master of Nazarick proceeded to enter the rift, it closed after a couple of seconds, as a result, silence flooded the room. "What now?" RUbedo asked herself
