As predicted, U.A is no different than any other high school, other than it being 6 days a week, leaving only Sunday off. Besides that, regular studies are mandatory, meaning every day is filled with classic classes such as English, Math, History and Sciences.
However, after lunch hour, a few times a week is when the real work begins for the heroes to be of class 1.A. "So, Katsuki," Free Hastings intentionally drawing out the blonde's name annoyingly as she entered the class last, a playful glint in her eyes as she sits in front of him, "is it to soon to ask for your number or should I try again in a days time?"
"Hah! As if I'd ever be stupid enough to share such a thing," Bakugo quick to reject the idea.
"Here I was figuring you'd jump at the chance to give a girl it, considering I might be the only one dumb enough to ever ask."
Immediately, two things happen simultaneously, the first is Denki Kaminari spitting and choking on his water, secondly, All Might walking in at the perfect time to halt a certain explosive teen from blowing the American to kingdom-come. "I AM COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"
Just a socially awkward as always Uncle Might, Free swiftly switching her attention to the world's number one hero, the girls' fellow classmates having their fan moments.
"Young heroes," the larger man starts off, "I teach hero basic training. It is a subject where you train in different ways to learn the basics of being a hero. Think of it as Heroing 101."
That is straight out of the textbook.
"Today we'll being doing battle and combat training," his announcement getting 1.A's students excited. "To go with training are these," the Pro Hero pointing to the wall which opens up with a click of his phone, revealing 20 silvers brief cases, all numbered. "Your costumes made based on your Quirk registrations, and the requests you sent it before school started." With everyone amped up, the large man ends by telling everyone to change and meet at Training Ground Beta, no one needing to be told twice; each and every student finding their specific briefcase and making straight for the change rooms.
Inside, Free stripped down, while simultaneously reading the small pamphlet directing and explaining how her costume works.
This is such a difference from my American one I left behind... all the paperwork to approve it was ridiculous. Besides, I wanted to design a new one anyway.
"If anyone needs help, don't be afraid to ask."
"Thanks Free! I might need a zip, but we'll see," Mina already in the midst of slipping her feet into the body suit she designed.
Easy enough, the American decided, first removing the armored chrome backless halter top and fitting it snuggly over her c's, clipping at the neck. It leaves her marred back exposed, the redhead slightly self-conscious and nervous now. Thoughts of anyone asking questions about the scarring setting Free on edge.
Yet, she powers through the uncomfortable feeling, slipping her legs into the tight-fitting black cargo pants and easily looping the requested belt with an attachable first aid kit and extendable Bo Staff too. The last pieces come in form of knee and elbow pads, both armored and styled like the chrome chest plate.
After finishing off by dividing and french-braiding her maroon hair in pigtails, Free walks down to beta with Tsuyu, asking multiple questions about the frog girls Quirk and only shutting up when All Might speaks.
"They say the clothes make the man, young men and ladies… so be fully aware that from now on," Toshinori pausing in effect, "-you are heroes!" His comment bringing about a chain reaction, class 1.A students taking a few moments to checkout each other's gear.
"Hastings-san, I like your costume!" The friendly voice belonging to her fellow redhead.
He's the hardening guy.
"Ah, thank you...?" She winced, hoping he isn't insulted she doesn't know his.
"Kirishima Eijiro," the spiky haired male smiled, just as welcoming as his tone.
"Call me Free. Anytime someone uses my last name, I can't help but feel like I'm about to lectured or sent to the principals office," 5'8 girl spending a couple seconds peering over the muscular guy, "-your costume is badass too," or lack of, should I say, the hormonal teenager unashamed about appreciating a chiseled chest.
"Thanks! Call me whatever works for you, okay?!"
"Eijiro then." Predictably, the use of his first name so casually turns the easy-going teen into a mildly flustered mess, bare fingers scratching his cheek in embarrassment.
"Now, it's time for combat training!" All Might regaining everyone's gaze with only six word.
Before he gets the chance to continue, Tenya's arm shoots up in question, waiting to be called on, "sir, this is battle center from the entrance exam, will we be conducting urban battles again?"
"Nope. We're moving ahead two steps. Most of the time, fighting villains takes place outside... but if you look at the total numbers, atrocious villains appear indoors at a high rate. Imprisonment, house arrest, backroom deals and the likes. In this society filled with heroes, truly intelligent villains hide in the shadows."
Ain't that the truth, Free bitterly locking with the Pro's momentarily. We know that better than anyone else here, huh Uncle Might?
"-so, for this class you'll be split into villains and heroes to fight 2-on-2 battles. The key this time is that there's no robot you can just beat up." Suddenly, a multitude of questions spring forth from a number of teenagers, All Might whipping his head back and forth in answering, until pulling out a script and reading from it. The freckled American has to cover her mouth and turn away to keep from laughing at Toshinori.
Wait till I tell Ma this later, she's going go pee her pants.
"-to do that, the good guys have to ether catch the evil doers or capture the weapon. Likewise the bas guys succeed if they keep their payload or capture the heroes. Time's limited so we'll determine teams by picking lots."
Again, Tenya raised a hand, "isn't there a better way?" This time Midoriya answered his question.
"Think about it. Heroes often have to team up with other hero agencies in the spot. So maybe that's the reason we're seeing that here."
Well said Freckles.
"Right... I see. Life is a random series of events... excuse my rudeness," Iida bowing to All Might.
"No sweat! LET'S DRAW," The teacher holding out the box for each student to step forward and pick a letter.
I, huh, orange in search of the matching letter.
"Hastings-san, right?" Free smiling when finding the speaker and holding a hand out to the tailed teen.
"Free preferably. Nice ta meet ya."
"Ojiro Mashirao," his larger hand engulfing hers.
He's strong.
"You practice marital arts?"
"Hai."
"Cool! I think it's important to have something else to fall back on, just in case someone has the ability to stop your Quirk."
"Agreed. I'm guessing you have a few too?"
"Two mostly! Bo Staff and unpredictability. I'm a certified master in both," a wink earning a laugh from her partner. "Let's win, Mashirao."
"I'll do my best!"
"-Team A will be the heroes, team D, the villains. Everyone else can head to the monitoring room to watch," their teachers booming leaving no room for procrastinating.
Upon passing Izuku, the butterfly girl paused to rest her hand on his shoulder, "ya got this Freckles. Between you and Ocha, you'll figure it out."
His luck would pit him against the prickly blonde.
"R-right," Midoriya still sounding uncertain, though there's not much else Free can think of saying to lift his spirits.
From here out, he needs to find the want to succeed and overcome on his own terms, the American shooting her newer friend a warm smile in encouragement, hoping it'll do more than her words did.
Luckily, it appears to make a difference, Izuku perking up a little as his first girl friend strolled to join the others after a quick, "go Ochaco," and disappearing into the monitor room.
I can do this, wide garnet orbs challenging fierce carmine ones, while inside the screening room the remaining class of 1.A start talking about possible outcomes.
"Team A. No way explosion boy keeps his cool long enough to outthink Izuku," Free unfiltered in sharing her opinion. Ojiro hummed in agreement beside her.
"He does have a short fuse… doesn't help when someone is constantly trying to light it."
She gasped dramatically, "I would never!"
"I didn't even have to say who and you're already defensive. That says it all."
The Redhead laughing and nudging his arm, "ya think you're so clever, huh?"
He grinned, "you make it easy."
Free sticks her tongue out blowing a raspberry in retaliation just as All Might entered, the man raising a brow at his ex-lovers' daughter, prior to focusing on the screen. "Pay attention kids and think about what you would do… ALL RIGHT, TEAM A and TEAM D, YOUR TIME STARTS NOW!" Multiple angles are shown jumping between different cameras, monitoring everything happening within the building.
In only a matter of minutes, Bakugo is attacking the Hero team, Izuku and Ochaco barely dodging in time. He's fast, pumpkin irises focused intensely on the battle, storing any and all information on her classmates. WOW, Freckles finally got one up on the firecracker, eyes wide when Midoriya flips the blonde over.
Note to self, new potential nickname for Katsuki.
The conflict between childhood friends steadily increases, All Might the only one able go hear what's being said, making Free wish she could listen in even more. The expression on her green haired friend's face a new one; it screams refusal to bow and lose.
About time Izuku.
--
Slowly, fifteen minutes count down and a good chunk of the time is wasted in Bakugo attempting to find a well maneuvering and hidden Midoriya. His frustration and non-existent-patience obviously wearing thin at every dead end met.
"Please tell me Iida is monologueing as a villain right now," the female redhead watching her classmates on screen and then looking up at the older man for a response, All Might nodding.
"Tenya Iida is playing the villain superbly."
Only 6 minutes remain when Katsuki stumbled upon on his prey, Izuku barely getting his hands up in time to cover his face as the pretend villain releases his grenade gauntlet. "
YOUNG BAKUGO, DON'T DO IT! YOU'LL KILL HIM!" The teachers worry not without reason, when a far from average blast goes off, the screen going red to smoky.
"Sir… isn't this getting out of hand? That Bakugo is acting real crazy. He's gonna kill him," Kirishima cut in, stating what most of the other students are thinking, but Free disagreeing.
"It's not so," the pro says. "Bakugo, use that stored up power again and I'll stop this fight and your team will lose... to attack on such a large scale inside is inviting the destruction of the stronghold you should be protecting. That's a poor strategy as both a hero and a villain. The penalty will be a massive lost of points." Considering All Mights words, Katsuki decides to attack head on without his gauntlets, aiming for his opponent and changing is trajectory last second to get a blow in at Deku's back.
For the first time today, Shoto Todoroki shares an observation, "he doesn't come off as the guy with a strategy, but he's actually quite intelligent."
Eijiro furrowed a brow at the half ice covered teen, "what are you talking about?"
"Hotheads control… he is well versed in using his Quirk," Free points out.
"They're right. Getting in a clean hit like that takes an extreme amount of precision. He had to calculate the physics and demonstrate control over the power he exerts in explosions," Momo's detailed explanation clearing most of the classes confusion up, Denki Kaminari sighing at it all.
"Uhg, Bakugou is super talented and I hate it."
As students continue to comment, the maroonette tunea out the rest of what's said, instead moving closer to the screen for a better view, eyes mirroring every movement and action playing across the cameras.
Come on Freckles… don't give up. Now's the time to stand tall and unwavering.
Izuku Midoriya does just that a minute later, winning the match by blowing a hole through the building and giving his partner an opportunity to capture the weapon. Yet, it's not without cost, the freckled teen dropping to his knees, one arm scorched almost black and the other broken and bruised, his body soon giving out and limbs hitting the ground as he passed out.
"Izuku!" The American girl already exiting the watch station and jogging straight for the smoking building. Uncaring, she burns some of her collected energy to launch her up into the created opening, feet hitting the cement quietly, barely a few feet left from the injured boy. Without so much of a glance to the other in the room, Free kneeled next to her friend and reaching out to brush his messy hair back, simultaneously checking his pulse for anything irregular.
Heart rate is normal, so nothing life threatening, but he needs medical attention, her eyes hovering on his beaten arms. "You won... but come on, Freckles."
"Right this way," All Mights voice filling the silence and the medical robots clinking too. "Take him straight to Recovery Girl."
"Yes, to the nurse's office," one says as they roll to a stop with the gurney beside Midoriya and loading him up carefully, before by passing the three and doing as told.
"Miss Hastings... concern for others is always welcomed in my classroom, please continue to care and be kind," Toshinori nodding for her to return, wanting a couple minutes alone with the stunned blonde.
On that note, she takes a long look at Katsuki, figuring he's faced a hard truth today already and keeping her next words to herself in her exit, watching you today, I could barely distinguish the line between playing a villain and being one.
However, she doesn't go far, halting by the door to hear what the Hero says. "Come back, Young Bakugo. It's time to review the results. Whether you win or lose, looking back and learning from your experiences is a part of life."
Live and learn as they say, Free returning to the monitor room for review of the combat battle, All Might and Katsuki trickling in a minute later, the younger boy moving to the back of the room as Toshinori stands at the head, addressing the students.
"Well, even if Team A won, the MVP for this battle was Young Iida!" At that announcement, the navy haired student's expression widens.
Next to him, Tsuyu asked his exact thought, "it's not either of the winners, Ochaco or Midoriya?"
Using this as an opportunity to educate, the pro questions the class if anyone knows why Tenya's the MVP. Free nodding in answer while Momo raised her hand. "Yes sensei. That is because Iida adapted the most to the context of the training."
He embraced being the bad guy and stayed to protect the weapon, the American agreeing with the savvy creator.
"-it appears Bakugo acted in his own because of an obvious person grudge, and as said earlier, it is foolish to launch a large scale attack indoors." Yaoyorozu goes on. "In the same way taking into consideration the damage he received, Midoriya's plan was also rash."
True, but he accomplished so much more than winning today… another achievement of sorts, Free's gaze sliding to Katsuki, who's head is down and eyes downcast, brimming with emotion.
What's going through your head firecracker?
"-for Uraraka, she let her guard down mid-battle and her final attack was too reckless. If she treated the papier-mâché as a real weapon, she would not have been able to do something so dangerous."
Fair point... baseball with an explosive weapon is highly frowned upon.
"Iida had prepared for his opponent's arrival and assumed it would be a fight over the weapon, which made him late in responding to the final attack… the Hero team only won because they took advantage of the fact that this was training. They were practically breaking the rules."
Ouch, Momo is harsh, but nothing she stated was wrong, Free not looking forward to hearing a critic from the ponytailed girl when her turn comes around.
"Chaco, please tell me Iida used an evil laugh in his monologue," the remark breaking the serious atmosphere, the gravity girl immediately telling everyone about his villainous acting.
"All right everyone, let's change locations and start the second match. Tackle this training after thinking about what we just talked about."
"Yes, sir!"
--
"Next up for match two is Team B, as heroes," the teacher drawing balls from both bins, "Team I are the villains."
Free swiftly perked up at the mention of her turn, shuffling over to Ojiro excitedly, "who's on B?" Diamond reflective eyes landing on the ice user and multi-armed teen. "This will be interesting, huh?"
"Any ideas?"
"A few. Come on," motioning the tailed teen to follow her outside where All Might is waiting for them.
"Villains, we will collect the weapon and move to combat station 2. It's a block to the right. When you're set up, you'll have 5 minutes to spare before the clock starts. Understood Young Hastings and Young Mashirao?"
"Yes, All Might sir," the male teen said, while the female nodded, the two standing in the spacious room, on the very top floor of their designated building a few minutes later.
"I have a feeling Todoroki's going to leave his partner out in the cold," so to speak. "We should use that to our advantage."
"How so?"
"He'll likely be alone, expecting us to be caught in his ice. I'm not sure if he's capable of freezing the entire area, but I've met elementals who could… luckily, I know a way around them; perks of the Quirk," Free waving her partner in closer. "If he does exactly what I think he will, we'll bag the win. Just gotta do something first."
With deep concentration, Free's skin begins to glow, her once golden-brown skin becoming shiny and hardened, energy trickling in a colorful glimmer along the surface. In touching her partner, the power spreads to him as well, soft texture disappearing under a layer of shell. "So far, so good," she breathed, mind still focused of the transference of energy while putting her other hand on the papier-mâché bomb to repeat the process.
Free Hastings, Quirk: Lumorphosis : along with the ability to use light energy for faster transformation, Free has learnt through vigorous and various training to transfer and share her enforced cocoon as an armor, previous uses lasting as long as 9 minutes and 17 seconds.
In finishing arming Mashirao, the weapon and herself, a sigh of relief escaped the American transfer.
"You really think he's going to ice the whole building?"
"I do," a chill already running up her back in saying that. "I really, really do," ice soon forming at the corners of the room and crawling up the walls in record time. "Unfortunately bringing out my wings in the cold is a dumb idea, so hand to hand combat is the direction to go."
"I-I agree," Ojiro shuddering from the rapidly freezing room.
"Time to go silent. I'm sure we're being listened to..." The redhead lifting a finger and pulling out her Bo Staff, extending it before spearing the weapon into the ice covered wall above the opened doorway and sticking with a good dose of energy. Free then taking a running start to scale the wall parkour style, palms gripping the specially made Staff and swinging herself up and over, combats boots balancing expertly on the round pole. With a wink, the girl holds her position steadily.
It isn't long until clinking noises and footsteps are heard from the hallway, the Villains locking eyes at the Hero's approach. As assumed, Shoto Todoroki enters the room without worry, falsely under the assumption this training would be a piece of cake with his ice. What he isn't prepared for is an unexpected force dropping on him, the maroon haired girl wasting no time in kneeing iceboy in his gut to and wrapping him in capture tape.
"Ya didn't see that coming, huh, Elsa?"
Elsa? Shoto not understanding the reference at all, completely embarrassed by the turn of events as his earpiece is removed by Free Hastings.
"Doubt I could wrestle Shoji that easily," she says to her partner, amid tying Todoroki up and finishing with a large bow. "Want to try your luck at it or should we run out the time?"
The tailed teen shrugged, "why not go 2 for 2?"
"I suppose it could be fun to try," the she admits. "He's probably already aware his partner has been captured at this point, so the only option he has is to face us head on. We'd be giving up our advantage by splitting up to capture him."
"Aa. I don't see him winning with the two of us here unscathed, but we shouldn't drop our guard."
"No kidding... only a cocky idiot would that," the girl's blunt words directed at their hostage.
I was over confident and a fool... still, how did they stop my ice? What's with their skin? Is that his Quirk or hers? Shoto's'houghts racing a mile a minute as time ticked down. My teammate can't win now... not with everything frozen. He's at a serious disadvantage because of me.
Even in knowing the chance of touching the weapon is slim, Mezo Shoji ventured towards the talking voices as stealthily as possible in these conditions. The quiet teen unable to stop the crunching of frozen floor under his feet. I'd be fooling myself to think they aren't prepared for this.
"About time you showed up. 2 and a half minutes left on the clock… you wanna dance?" Free poking her head out of the doorway to find the multi-armed teen 3 yards away. "Mashirao promised to only get involved if you somehow manage to get the upper hand," a teasing and light hearted tone to her statement as she waves in a 'come at me' motion.
"It's hard to trust the word of villains," Shoji replied, her friendly grin shifting from sweet to eerie in a flash.
"Smart little hero… guess I'll have to beat that outta'ya," the southern accent thicker in threat to play up her role. "I'll be right back," the girl says to her partner, wanting to have a little more fun and heading straight for their remaining opponent.
With nothing to lose and everything to gain, Mezo strides forward without hesitation, arms clashing with the Bo Staff, a crackle of light energy pushing him back a couple inches from the girl. "You're built like a tank," she grunted, bodyweight no match for the 6-and-a-half-foot tall male, who easily overpowers her, forcing Free to duck and dodge his multiple tentacle-like limbs.
In doing so, the redhead can't help the inappropriate sentence that spills from her mouth as she barely dodged his capture tape, "your future lover is going to be one lucky duck, huh?"
As if hit by a train, Shoji faltered at the bold revelation, the play pretend villain using his small slip-up to change gears and reverse the outcome, tape thrown in an arc around her competitor, dainty fingers barely grabbing the end as the timer goes off.
"Villain team wins! Both teams please make your way back to the screening room for evaluation," All Might's clear voice echoed through the buildings speaker system.
"Who knew being the villain could be so fun," the single female throws out while unwrapping her classmate. "Maybe next time we'll get the chance to work together instead, that'd be cool, right?" Irises fading to burnt orange and cocoon defense beginning to crack and crumble, pieces falling away as she puts some space between them.
"I would like that, Hastings-san," Shoji disappointed in loosing, yet in high spirits despite it, the girls' honest and authentic invitation making it easy to cheer up.
"Free, if you don't mind. Can't promise I'll answer to anything else."
"Aa… Mezo then, if I'm to call you by your first name."
"I look forward to getting to know you better Mezo," the American offering her hand to shake and grinning when obliged. "I can't wait to see the look on Todoroki's face when Momo points out everything he did wrong."
Out of nowhere, the ice begins to thaw and melt, steam rising at the immense heat applied throughout the building and water soon dripping down all over the place, pellets hitting bare skin and stinging the students within.
"Son of a bitch," Free hissing at the direct hit on her forehead. "-probably deservered that," karma's a bitch, "didn't know Elsa had another Quirk."
"I don't use it very often," Shoto Todoroki said, exiting the weapon room just ahead of Mashirao.
The redhead chuckled, "really… who knew we'd actually have something in common."
"You have a second Quirk?" Ojiro asked, trailing as the four teens begin their decent down the stairwell.
"Light Absorption and Morphing. Though, I've learnt to use them hand-in-hand over years of vigorous training." Or abuse if you'd really ask me. "Daddy-Dearest made sure I was well versed in both," a bitter tone to her words. "Turns out he was just another monster and I'm just another girl with Daddy issues," she joked, needing to relieve the anger it stirred inside, heterochromic-eyes observing the freckled Texan.
Guess we have another thing in common, Shoto opening the door for them as the Free made another joke, this time something inappropriate about the capture tape. Though she has no qualms in using it, the quiet male trailing last into the screening room.
"Well then, now that you've returned, let us discuss the exercise… anyone up for guessing the MVP this time?" All Might asked his students.
Like earlier, Yaoyorozu raises her hand to answer, but so does Tenya, the boy hoping to have a chance to express his own theory. Luckily, the pro gives him exactly what he wishes for. "I believe both Hastings and Mashirao are deserving of the title. They worked and won as a team. Of course, I must say Hastings Quirk played a much larger role in this case, but both members appeared to discuss and devise their way to victory."
"Young Iida is correct," Toshinori says.
"As for team B, it was much of the opposite. Todoroki was unaware of the extent of Hastings abilities, fully believing his ice would be enough to stop them and leaving Shoji behind because of it. If they had worked together like team I, the outcome would have been different."
All Might nods, "also correct. As a hero, it's important to expected the unexpected. 99% of the time, we don't know what a villain is fully capable of. They could be down playing their power or storing it up for a grand attack. The point is, that if the chance to work with another hero is available, use it to your advantage. It could make the difference between winning and loosing, or life and death."
"Yes, sir!"
"Next up is, Team J as Villains, Team H as Heroes."
--
It's all over an hour later by the time every team participates in the battle training, their teacher congratulating them on the good work today. Tsuyu remarked that it's anticlimactic compared to their previous day with Aizawa.
After that, All Might flashes away with speed, leaving only a train of dust and rush of wind in his midst, last words an order to change and return to the classroom.
"I never thought I'd ever say this, but I can't wait to get out of this and back into my bra. Whoever designed the it interior of this must not have a pair of breasts, honestly," Free complaining in her break away from the group of students with the goal in mind of freeing her chest from the form-fitting armored top.
"D-did someone say breasts?" Minoru Mineta's ears burning at the word. "Was it Hastings-chan? I swear, it was her," the purple balled-hair shorty in search of the American.
"Come on Ocha, Free's already so far ahead," Mina pushing past the short boy and pulling the brunette with her. At their leave, the rest of the girls follow, leaving only the male teens outside. Not for long though, all eventually getting on with doing as the teacher ordered.
By the time most of the class returns to homeroom in uniform, it's only a matter of minutes to the bell. Free the last to pass through the door, the girl side tracked by a vending machine and spending fifteen minutes deciding on the perfect drink. She sipped at the straw in her arrival, shooting Mashirao a peace sign and grin on her way to sit down. Usually, the redhead would take the opportunity to flirt or tease the spirited blonde behind her, but quickly decides to save it for tomorrow.
Hothead looks like he'll either blow something or someone up, or he's ready to rage-cry if anyone speaks to him. I've been there many times... guy could use a hug.
For the remainder of afternoon classes, not much is said between students, just work being done until school is dismissed.
Instantly, lively talk about the battles starts up and introductions are made with excitement, Free mentioning waiting for Izuku to come back from the nurse's office and a good number of others offering to stick around with her.
Katsuki Bakugo certainly not one of them. Not even when the idiot with the shitty hair tried to convince him to hang out and talk about the matches. Instead, he angrily shoves his stuff away and throws on his backpack, giant door sliding shut with a bang as he stomped with every intention to put this stupid fucking day behind him.
"Oi!"
This bitch again, the male teen ignoring the girls attempt at getting his attention.
Free knows it'd be in her best interest to give up here, but she's always been stubborn and reckless too, which is exactly what her next actions are. "Dammit Firecracker. You forgot this," the half lie halting him in confusion, the explosive blonde twisting around to her.
Perfect.
The Texan catching up and smoothly closing the gap to embrace him. "Thought you could use this," her arms wrapping around him for only a few ticks, prior to backing off. What could only be describe as utter bewilderment passes over Bakugos' face…
Then it gradually fades into 'kill mode', carmine eye twitching uncontrollably in irritation and teeth grinded, "TOUCH ME AGAIN AND ILL KILL YOU!"
"Rightttttt. I'll keep that in mind," maroonette walking backwards the way she came. "See ya tomorrow, charmer," girl not bothering to wait for a response and choosing to lift her hand in farewell, now going back to class.
What. The. Fuck. If I have to deal with one more moron today, I'll fucking blow, Katsuki controlling himself from blasting a hole through the walls in his decent down the stairwell and out of the school.
In her return, Free collides with a rushed Izuku, both ending up in the floor and in the same position as their first meeting two weeks prior. Accept this time, he's lands on top, face mere inches from hitting an area the greenet would never live down.
"F-FREE! SORRY!" The panicking boy scrambling to his feet and helping her up. "Kaachan! H-have you seen him?!"
Oh.
"He was on his way out a minute ago. If you run you'll catch him."
"Thank you! I'll b-be back soon!"
Guess he has something important to say… hopefully Hothead will hear him out, she thought, finishing the trek to class and shuffling to stand with Ochaco, Tsuyu and Mina by the window. "What are ya doing?"
"Look!" The brunette pointing down below, where Midoriya and Bakugo face off. The shorter of the two talking passionately as the other stands blank-face.
"Good, he caught up then," Free watching and the scene unfolds, her heart clenching when the blonde wipes tears from his eyes.
It's nice to see him show an emotion other than outrage and pride.
"It's a fated battle between men, right Free-chan?"
"Something like that," the American giggling at her friends starry-eyed excitement. "Ocha's the kind of girl who reads Shonen Jump every week, huh?"
Tsuyu nods, "I can see it. Ribbit."
"I love a good rivalry!" she admits without shame.
"I'm more of a forbidden romance kinda gal," the pinkette adds, Free considering both.
"How about a rivalry that develops into a romance?"
"Ooooo, the best of both worlds!" Mina cheered.
"Right!"
Izuku eventually comes back to find his redheaded friend telling those present some elaborate tale about an former classmate in Texas, who teleported them to the Bermuda Triangle for shits and giggles, as she put it. Everyone roaring with laughter as she acted out the entire scene, throwing in over exaggerated dramatics for the hell of it.
Again, another day successful day at U.A comes to an end. A great many learning curves and lessons learnt for students attending, only proving that each and every one belongs there. Izuku Midoriya finally feeling that way too.
