Very long chapter. So hopefully it's good enough for you to bear through it!
Episode 2 – Some Mysteries Are Better Left Unsolved
"That's nonsense." Hatsume shook her head, disagreeing with the title.
"Be patient. Let's first see what happens here." Nezu answered.
(0:00 - 0:23)
"Where is this?" Kaminari asked in confusion, as he had expected that the episode would kick off with Vi or Powder.
"I think we've moved to the perspective of another character?" Izuku murmured unsurely.
(0:23 - 0:30)
The mention of the undercity rang the bells in their heads. They suspected they were now about to see the owner from the earlier episode, an episode which left the Heroes curious to see who this man exactly is and suspicious of his goals.
(0:30 - 0:33)
"Agreed!" Hatsume nodded vigorously. "No danger can hinder science!"
The few who have had the 'pleasure' of being her test subjects chuckled nervously. Her experiments definitely passed the realm of danger and are near life-threatening.
(0:33 - 0:37)
The Villains and the poorer ones in the audience felt irritated at the man's remark.
"Rich kids..." Mr. Compress groaned.
(0:37 - 0:43)
"Wait, that's Vi!" Uraraka shouted, recognizing the muffled voice.
"It's confirmed. We're looking at the owner from before," Izuku said.
Yaoyorozu hummed. "So, we're following the perspective of the person they stole from. Interesting." She expressed, same with Hatsume, though for their separate reasons.
"So we're following the rich now, huh?" Dabi said in clear displeasure, same with the rest of the Villains. They much prefered the Underworld compared to here.
(0:43 - 1:04)
Izuku visibly cringed, comparing that to one of Kacchan's explosions.
"Is he dead?" Hatsume asked.
"Hm..."
(1:04 - 1:13)
"No, he isn't." Power Loader answered his student after a while.
"It's a miracle he survived that explosion." Recovery Girl said in surprise.
Shigaraki clicked his tongue at that. He hoped the man would just drop dead, but he didn't, irritating him by a bit.
(1:13 - 1:15)
"He saw her face." Naomasa pointed out.
Recovery Girl, however, wasn't sure of that. "He just got hit by an explosion, so he probably was just able to identify her hair colour, the likes."
"Maybe, but even a single aspect of the perpetrator would help."
(1:15 - 1:22)
"Jayce..." Izuku repeated, jotting down the name in his notebook.
(1:22 - 1:24)
"Woah, where is this now?" Fukidashi asked via his speech bubble.
"I think this is a flashback," Kendo replied.
(1:24 - 1:36)
"Poor Jayce..." Midnight cooed.
(1:36 - 1:48)
Many of the Heroes ached when hearing the boy's desperate pleas for help. They wanted to help him and bring him somewhere safe but were frustrated when they realized they, once more, were helpless to save the boy.
They can't help everyone. That was a painful truth of being a Hero.
"Please, someone save him..." Mirio prayed.
(1:48 - 1:54)
The Heroes sighed in relief, hoping the man would help little Jayce.
(1:54 - 2:06)
Everyone gazed at the stone in wonder. Even though they weren't physically there and it was in another world altogether, they all could feel the power emanating from it.
Aizawa then noticed something. "That looks like the explosive stones Jayce has in his penthouse." He informed, shocking everyone else who quickly recognized it after that.
"So he's gonna blow up Jayce?!" Kaminari yelled radically, only to be bonked on the head by Jiro.
"Of course not, you moron! Jayce wouldn't be alive if he did, right?" She told her friend, who nodded rapidly in fear.
(2:06 - 2:12)
"Wait, he's leaving?!" Nejire shouted in shock, not believing that someone would willingly leave behind a child in the middle of a snowstorm.
Nezu smiled at her. "Be patient, Hado-san. Let's first see what he'll do next..."
(2:12 - 2:16)
Everyone's eyes grew as wide as dinner plates. Even the ones that suspected he'd save Jayce, were still shocked.
They all stayed silent as the man proceeded.
(2:16 - 2:23)
"What's he doing?" Kendo asked, amazed and curious at what the man was doing.
"I don't know, but we'll see," Vlad answered, not looking away from the screen.
(2:23 - 2:26)
"He's doing this using the stone." Izuku suddenly realized. "Him and the stone are like, the oil to a machine... that's a bad analogy."
"So those stones could do more than just explode." Aizawa took note. He still doesn't know what other properties the stone has, however.
(2:26 - 2:33)
"They're floating!" Uraraka pointed out, surprised.
"Is he going to fly them out?" Yaoyorozu wondered, thinking that it wouldn't be exactly safe nor effective due to multiple reasons.
(2:33 - 2:34)
"They're gone!" Ashido shouted, no one having the time to reply before the scene moves onward.
(2:34 - 3:12)
Their eyes latched onto the screen, as Jayce and his mother flew through the strangely stunning pass, many strange symbols rapidly blurring past them.
Their eyes grew wide with shock and fear as the scene changes to the Earth and Moon themselves swiftly rotating on the mysterious man's grasp, before stopping when the Moon is aligned with their sight, an eye briefly flashing.
Their eyes were enraptured in the beauty of the scenery, of the place where Jayce and his mother suddenly found themselves on. Shizoaki even felt a tear streaming down her face from the beautiful sight of untouched nature.
(3:12 - 3:18)
"They survived..." Izuku exhaled, not realizing that he and many others had been holding their breaths.
(3:18 - 3:24)
Everyone nodded silently, Jayce having asked the question in everyone's minds.
(3:24 - 3:30)
"He gave him the crystal..." Uraraka murmured.
"Which gave him the motivation to make more of them," Izuku added, realizing why Jayce had been making them in the first place. He wanted to make them so he could help others, just like the mysterious man had helped him and his mother.
"It seems... powered down though." Tsunotori saw.
"Well, I guess the stone has a limited amount of energy," Hatsume said, though she didn't seem disappointed. "It's not limitless, but I'm guessing it has lots of energy and that's only in that small rock. Imagine what those stones that Jayce has could do!" She said excitedly.
"But they were all stolen, remember?" Mr. Compress grinned behind his mask as he saw the inventor panic. Luckily, Izuku reassured her.
"Hatsume-san, don't worry. There's still one stone left, the one that Vi, Mylo, and Claggor found." He reminded her, who let out a big sigh of relief. If Jayce could make several of those just from one small depowered rock, then he could certainly make another batch from a larger full of energy one.
All For One hummed internally, interested in the stone. It showed that it could teleport, similar to Kurogiri, the only difference is that it could teleport someone anywhere on the planet (he assumed) whereas Kurogiri could only teleport around the surrounding area. The former was more powerful and certainly would help with his goals. 'I MUST get my hands on one of those.' He thought firmly.
(3:30 - 4:40) ["Enemy" by Imagine Dragons]
As the still-blurry intro played, the audience still enjoyed the music. Many of them, mainly the students, were simply chatting to pass the time and the Heroes, too, were chatting and discussing, though were also cautiously watching every little move made by the Villains.
(4:40 - 4:47)
"This must be Jayce's penthouse," Kaminari said.
"The Enforcers should be investigating the place," Naomasa stated, recognizing the voice of the Head Enforcer from the last episode.
(4:47 - 4:54)
"Yeah." The detective nodded. "You had those explosive stones or whatever you call them, which I assume you don't have any license for, not to mention having it so close to a crowded area." He explained, many agreeing with him.
(4:54 - 4:58)
Endeavour rolled his eyes. "Clearly. Everything that goes on down there has some crime behind them. If it were me, I'd have burnt them all long ago." He arrogantly stated, annoying not just the Villains but also some of the Heroes.
"You can't do that without proof, Endeavour," Aizawa warned him, though he barely listened.
"No need. The proof will be there when I expose them." He said, to which the teacher groaned. The man's personality was insufferable, even to his colleagues.
(4:58 - 5:01)
"Oh," Izuku noticed. "That's the only stone left!"
"How didn't it explode though?" Tsunotori asked curiously.
Nezu answered her. "I'm not sure, but it may be because of that contraption it's in. Maybe it could neutralize these stones?" He took an educated guess.
All For One smiled at that new information. If the stones could be neutralized, then surely he could ask the good Doctor to make a device that could control it. After all, currently, this Piltover seems to be less advanced than his world in terms of technology alone, so he was confident in the Doctor's capabilities.
(4:58 - 5:06)
"Who is he? He seems... sick." Uraraka asked in worry.
"Crippled, you mean." Bakugo bluntly said, to which she reprimanded him.
"Hey! Can't you be a bit politer?"
The explosive student just scoffed. "It's just the truth." He said, glancing at Izuku before quickly averting his gaze. "The weak have no right."
Before the argument could continue, Iida stopped them. "Enough! Let's just continue watching for now, alright?" He asked firmly to his two classmates. Both of them agreed albeit the girl did so reluctantly.
(5:06 - 5:16)
"Some do, but those that do are usually illegal experiments anyway." Power Loader fixed.
(5:16 - 5:29)
"That means he's the second-in-command in the Academy." Nezu nodded. For some reason, he was interested to meet this Dean.
"And also automatically has some influence across Piltover." Aizawa assumed from everything that has been said.
(5:29 - 5:38)
"Wait, what?" Hatsume stared, baffled. "Why though?"
Nezu quickly answered the confused student. "He bought illegal items and has a highly explosive object in his home, close to a civilian crowded area. That's enough to land him in jail, so it makes sense that he sees Jayce as dangerous." He explained to the student, who groaned.
"Ugh, of course, it's laws. Jayce wants to do good but is hindered by rules, as always." She pouted annoyedly.
(5:38 - 5:42)
"Please." Shigaraki rolled his eyes. "The Council would declare a mouse a threat if it scares them."
(5:42 - 5:46)
Kaminari whistled, quite liking its aesthetics. "Besides looking awesome, are those things more secure?" He asked no particular person.
Aizawa decided to answer, as he arguably has the most knowledge of restraining devices. "Hinged handcuffs are more secure, but since they can't be folded, they are more difficult to carry. It may be someway different here though, being another world and all."
(5:46 - 5:53)
Everyone noticed the stone, immediately recognizing it as the one the mysterious man had given him all those years ago. Most thought it was a memento of sorts or a lucky charm.
(5:53 - 6:09)
"So cute!" Ashido squealed, same with a few other girls, all of them cherishing the little furry midget. An action which, in turn, sparked jealousy in the heart of a certain purple-haired pervert.
Other than the ones busy adoring the little guy, everyone else was curious as to who that was. However, being able to even enter an occupied jail cell without any backlash, they at least knew the unknown arrival is one of high status.
(6:09 - 6:12)
The girls from before awed once more at the cutely rapid walk, which started to slightly annoy the others, understandably.
(6:12 - 6:19)
"Uh... What does he mean by that?" Kaminari asked, not understanding what he had meant.
Bakugo groaned at his classmate. "He means the prisoner can still think of a way to escape, moron!" He barked at him. "Seriously, everyone else knows that!"
He expected a couple of nods and 'yes's at least, but became annoyed when only silence greeted him.
"Fuck you all." He growled.
Naomasa ignored the squabble and instead thought of what was said. He never really thought of it, but most prisoners who escaped only managed to do so because their minds weren't restricted. Understandably, they can't just lock away one's ability to think without breaching moral boundaries and growing fear to them in the people, but at that, he pondered something else.
Why are some of Japan's most cruel Villains allowed to live, even if they're forever behind bars? Such as the likes of the Hero Killer and many, many others. He quickly shook away those thoughts, deciding to think about it later during break time.
(6:19 - 6:32)
"A new vector that could have caused massive casualties." Power Loader sighed, shaking his head.
(6:32 - 6:39)
Power Loader grinned. "Yes. Yes! Of course! Thank you." He said gratefully.
Hatsume humped. It was just the opinion of some cute whatever-species-he-is; he wouldn't understand her or Jayce there. Only fellow inventors could and she was very sure this midget wasn't one.
(6:39 - 6:45)
"Professor-what now?" Kirishima asked in utter confusion, struggling to fully pronounce the name.
Luckily, Yaoyorozu came to the rescue. "It's Professor Heimerdinger, I think. I'm used to difficult-to-pronounce names." She explained partly. The reason she did, was because her parents had very often received guests to their mansion and some of their names are quite hard to pronounce.
One of them even had a total of 747 characters in their name!
"Um... Professor Heirmerdinger?" Kaminari worded, a bit wrong.
"Without the first 'r'." She quickly fixed it. She smiled in satisfaction when he nodded in understanding.
"A Professor, huh..." Nezu murmured, now having a guess as to what Heimerdinger's position was. The Principal grinned, as he sees various similarities between the Dean and himself.
'A professor is not an inventor. Just... imagine the other teachers!' Hatsume reassured herself internally.
(6:45 - 6:50)
"Magic?" Mr. Compress said in a slightly excited tone. Magic had always been his object of adoration even when he was a little child and was also part of the reason for his costume's design.
(6:50 - 6:54)
"No," Vlad repeated what the two have said. "Magic doesn't exist, never have and never will."
Power Loader then added for a finish. "Those stones are just science, just one that we haven't understood yet."
"Just like those idiots back then." Bakugo scoffed, the same way he did when he had watched the news about them. "Morons thinking Quirks are somehow magic or whatever."
Mr. Compress growled at their words. Oh, come on! Can't he fantasize about his dreams for once without being disturbed by sensitive fools?!
(6:54 - 7:00)
"Ugh, that's just bull!" Hatsume retorted harshly. "When Quirks first came out, people thought it was some 'dangerous-force-that-cannot-be-explained', but look at today! Society can't even function properly without them." Many were surprised at her outburst, but at the same time, couldn't help but agree with her statement.
Power Loader sighed at his prized student. "This is different, Hatsume." He said, drawing her attention. "Quirks have a varying degree of danger. Most are basically harmless or just weak, whereas in this case, every single stone is equally dangerous."
Hatsume quickly replied. "Yeah, but that's because of how unstable they are. I-If Jayce can stabilize it, then boom! A safe source of large energy only the size of your eyeball. It's simply a revolutionary baby!"
"How about the Professor there?" He asked, pointing to the screen. "He's a Professor and is aware of the topic they speak of."
"I mean yeah, but you can't progress if a single person disagreeing is enough to stop you."
Power Loader, after a moment of thought, said, "In some cases, yes. But if someone of great renown or longer experience disagrees, then at least think over what you're doing." He said though she was still adamant.
(7:00 - 7:15)
Everyone's eyes shot up wide at that, the most being All For One. None of them expected the twist since he has such a small stature; though, at a second thought, they slapped themselves internally for even thinking that. They don't even have an idea as to what species he belongs to.
"200-years older than myself..." All For One murmured in disbelief, though no one heard him, as they too were busy taking in the information.
All-Might gawked. "How, how is that even possible?" His nemesis was practically immortal, true, but it's only because of the combination of several Quirks he has in his sleeve. This Heimerdinger, however, could reach hundreds of years just by being born; at least, he assumed that.
Power Loader smiled at his only student here. "See? Not only is he a Professor, but also has lived for hundreds of years. I'm sure he's met a few similar to Jayce during that time or has even experienced it himself." His student grumbled, still sure that Jayce shouldn't stop even if that Heimer-whatever disagrees, but chose to be silent for now.
(7:15 - 7:22)
Awase couldn't help but question that philosophy. "But... wouldn't it be better if we've solved every mystery out there? Like, solving the cure for cancer or something." He gave an example.
Yaoyorozu, an avid reader of many things, answered his question. "Many things are better solved, yes, just like that example. But some things shouldn't have been solved. Mainly, things that are either useless or just extremely dangerous innovations that could easily fall in the wrong hands." She explained to the student, who nodded in understanding and bashful appreciation.
(7:22 - 7:33)
"It's like the Council has some kind of stigma against magic." Uraraka pointed out.
"They fear what they don't understand," Shigaraki replied before his tone slightly took a darker tone. "Like us."
(7:33 - 7:44)
"Poor Jayce," Hatsume said in pity. He only wanted to help.
(7:44 - 7:48)
"A training session!" Uraraka cheered.
(7:48 - 8:02)
Aizawa nodded, right now very impressed by her boxing skills. He was by no means a professional boxer or a boxing coach, but he did have some level of experience in the matter and could guess that Vi was skilled in it, enough for him to even consider training her in the arts.
Many others were equally impressed, even if they didn't take Eraserhead's analytic approach.
(8:02 - 8:12)
"Yeah, gotta lay low." Mr. Compress agreed. "When causing that type of commotion, it's important not to be seen for a while." He said, remembering when the League had to lay low for a bit after all the chaos they've caused.
Endeavour smirked arrogantly. "Hiding like a coward." He remarked, infuriating most of the Villains.
Dabi angrily shot back. "Like you did from the media when your eldest died 'accidentally'?" He grinned when his face morphed into fury, before quickly calming himself, and looking back towards the screen. "I knew it." He chuckled, relishing his momentary victory over his 'father'.
What he and no one else noticed, was how Todoroki stared at the Villain curiously.
(8:12 - 8:19)
"Yeah sure Mylo, say whatever you want." Uraraka giggled in a mocking tone.
(8:19 - 8:25)
Hatsume laughed, both at her showing off and her fixing it. "Kudos Powder! Show them your engineering skills!" She cheered for the little girl.
"A shooting gallery, like in those carnivals," Izuku murmured, a bit excited to see this. After he was 'diagnosed' that day, he's never went to a carnival or an amusement park again, due to his fear of being mocked by others.
(8:25 - 8:30)
"Oh goodie, he has horrible aim..." Uraraka murmurs sarcastically. "Seriously though, how is he even useful."
"He's a pick locker, from what we saw."
The female student deadpanned at the thieving Villain. "Powder can do that if she sets her mind on it." She said, sure of her statement.
"But she gets panicked easily." Mr. Compress suddenly interrupted. "So she's more prone to act impulsively without considering other options. Case-in-point, the scene where she throws away that bag to escape." He said, clearly still bitter on that last part.
"But she had no other choice!" Uraraka defended.
"There are still other, better options. Take a punch or two, as Mylo had said, at least until the rest arrive. That, or throw the bag at her pursuer to daze him; it's literally filled with metal and we have seen that she could throw the bag. All that is much better than screwing up." The scarred Villain said, not giving much room for her to retort.
"It won't happen again..." She mumbled under her breath.
(8:30 - 8:40)
"Oh, for once, shut up! Your mouth can't seem to utter anything else other than belittling Powder." Uraraka yelled, having enough of people belittling the girl.
(8:40 - 8:43)
"Come on, Powder. Show that meanie what you can do." Uraraka encouraged, even though she knew the little girl couldn't possibly hear her.
But the next sequence made Uravity think otherwise.
(8:43 - 8:52)
Practically everyone was cheering for Powder, especially Uraraka and Asui when she began hitting all the targets perfectly and rapidly. Even those that took a lot to impress, such as Bakugo, were left surprised by her skills.
"Hm... Now I really want her as my protégé." Snipe daydreamed, imagining himself shooting up Villains with a mini version of him following suit.
(8:52 - 8:54)
Everyone couldn't help but chuckle when Powder 'made a face' towards Mylo, Uraraka especially having a good time with the situation. It's nice to see an underdog go against everyone's expectations.
"Hm, but if she has such skill, couldn't she become a great asset with a gun or something?" Kaminari asked curiously.
"Gun laws, most probably. This city probably has strict rules on that." Naomasa replied to the boy, not noticing how Tsunotori was awkwardly smiling behind him.
(8:54 - 9:02)
Everyone stayed silent, curious as to what was happening out there.
(9:02 - 9:05)
Shigaraki, in a hate-filled tone, said, "Enforcers."
"He's so rude." Uraraka frowned at the man on-screen.
Spinner chuckled, along with several other Villains. "When are police never."
(9:05 - 9:09)
"Yeah, show them who's boss!" Twice cheered with a laugh. "Even though you're not a boss of anything..." He said in a dramatically grim tone.
"They're looking for Vi and the others," Asui said, worrying her and many others.
(9:09 - 9:17)
The Villains and even a few Heroes blew up into laughs, some starting to like his daring and uncaring attitude. Though while everyone else was mostly just amused at that, some were disgusted.
(9:17 - 9:24)
Everyone jumped in surprise, not expecting the man to straight-up be thrown into the window. But they quickly recovered from the shock and began to worry for the two sisters.
(9:24 - 9:32)
"Now seems like a good time to get outta there," Kaminari said.
(9:32 - 9:44)
"All but one," Toga replied in worry, which surprised her a little. They didn't want to admit it, but the sisters' were starting to grow on some of them.
"That's why you don't bring important items everywhere." Mr. Compress sighed.
(9:44 - 9:56)
"Quick distraction." The thieving Villain nodded.
Several leaned forward in their seats, anxious to see Vi and the rest hopefully escape the Enforcers.
(9:56 - 10:01)
Chuckles rang through the audience. It was amusing to see the toy gun that looked amazing earlier in Powder's hands bounce uselessly off of the Enforcers' armour.
Snipe grunted. "No amount of precision will do anything if the bullets can't even penetrate." That was why he always made sure his bullets can penetrate most targets.
(10:01 - 10:04)
A few suddenly laughed, taking the others by surprise. "What's so funny?" Tokage wondered curiously.
Izuku was swift to respond. "Mylo couldn't do anything against that Enforcer, but then Vi managed to knock him down with that panel with Mylo's face on it." He explained. "I know that steel panel is stronger than a toy gun, just a funny detail I found." He admitted, chuckling a bit in the end.
The others looked back at the paused screen and followed his amusement when they now noticed the same.
(10:04 - 10:17)
They jumped in surprise, not expecting that. But the surprise very quickly turned to worry. "Please someone help her, ribbit." Asui hoped.
"Let her go, you jerk!" Uraraka yelled.
(10:17 - 10:19)
A good chunk of the audience visibly cringed. Even if it doesn't hurt much, but they surely wouldn't want to see their arm seemingly get devoured. Ignoring that though, Aizawa was impressed by Powder; even in panic, she made good use of her surroundings to escape, something that not many would be able to think of doing in such a state.
Mr. Compress hummed. 'She takes the option that first presents itself to her.' He thought; that can be good at times but can also prove to be mistaken.
(10:19 - 10:28)
"Uh, seems like it hurt quite a lot." Kaminari gulped since Marcus came out with a limping arm.
(10:28 - 10:34)
"Ugh, of course!" Toga groaned. "There always gotta be some Hero or whatever 'coincidentally' waiting outside." She and her peers at this point honestly thought that even the ones above wanted to see them fail.
(10:34 - 10:36)
"Shit, they're cornered." Bakugo cursed worriedly, surprising no small amount of people.
Kaminari eyed him, slack-jawed. "Bakubro, you, you're worried for them?" He said in shock, same with the rest of the people that knew him.
The boy glared at them. "I'm not! Those Enforcers or whatever are just assholes and I don't want them to be satisfied." He said, only to be met by stares of disbelief from everyone.
'Pot, meet kettle.'
(10:36 - 10:40)
They let out their held breaths, relieved that the sisters would be able to escape and grateful to Ekko for saving them.
"Ekko to the rescue!" Uraraka cheered happily.
"He's like a little boy saviour." Midnight giggled.
(10:40 - 10:45)
Their anxiety came back in full force now, seeing the Enforcer pull out a real gun. Many hoped he has a terrible aim or would at least be hampered by his limping right arm.
(10:45 - 10:51)
"And stay down!" Toga laughed, along with the rest of the Villains, seeing a supposedly well-trained adult man be beaten by a teenager.
"She's quite quick on her feet." Mr. Compress nodded with a thumbs-up. He's seen time and time again, of Vi having quick reflexes, such as when she swiftly ordered Mylo to lock the door after hearing incoming footsteps and now this.
(10:51 - 10:54)
"H-Hey, watch your tongue, young lady!" Iida stuttered, surprised that such a young child could curse so easily. Is it because of bad influence?
Meanwhile, Tokage stared strangely at him. "You never heard a kid curse before?" Seeing him shake his head, she laughed. "Dude, I've seen kids younger than her curse every second!" She revealed what was a shocking revelation to Iida. How is he this uninformed?!
(10:54 - 11:00)
"Back to Piltover," Hatsume said, much to the displeasure of the Villains.
"And to new characters, I assume," Yaoyorozu added.
(11:00 - 11:08)
"Richest person, huh..." Uraraka pouted, a bit of envy oozing from her. "Hey, Momo," She said to her friend. "how rich do you think you compare to her?" Her friend didn't seem bothered by the question and instead answered after a moment.
"I'm not sure, but I think she might be a couple of times richer than my family." She said with a nod, not noticing Uraraka staring at the screen even more jealously.
Mineta drooled at the screen. "She's smoking hot thou-" That was as much as his perverted mouth could utter before being knocked unconscious by Asui's frog-like tongue.
"She does have a good sense of fashion though," Yaoyorozu admitted, all the while knowing but ignoring what the midget actually meant.
(11:08 - 11:10)
"Wait a minute," Uraraka waved her arms around. "so you're telling me her family is even RICHER?!" She shouted in shock and a lot of envy, the same as many others. How could a family possibly be that rich?!
(11:10 - 11:14)
"That looks interesting..." Hatsume's eyes sparkled, though not even close to the intensity as Yaoyorozu's own.
"Supreme challenge..." She repeated in a low murmur. Besides reading, studying, the likes, she also adores all sorts of puzzles.
(11:14 - 11:18)
Hatsume quickly said, "Like Jayce's energy stones." Her response was swift and unwavering as if she's had that line ready in her head from the start.
"Yeah, like his energy stones." Power Loader chuckled at her antics. While they had their conflicts, the teacher and student are quite close nonetheless.
(11:18 - 11:21)
"Wait, wait," Kaminari did a spit-take. "so Piltover isn't even significant enough to be acknowledged there?" He said, baffled that a city as majestic as that isn't even important in this world.
Everyone else had a similar reaction. Even in their world, a place like that would definitely receive a steady stream of tourists for its architecture alone! They were starting to get a small picture of the rest of that world, vague as it is.
(11:21 - 11:26)
"Aha, so she should be one of the Councillors!" Uraraka pointed out with a smile. Izuku chuckled at her, eliciting a small blush from the girl.
"Yeah, she probably is."
"Speaking of that..." Aizawa sighed. "Just saying this now, but Jayce is going to tell the Council about magic... against what he has been advised."
Present Mic looked at him curiously. "Where did you get that from?"
He looked at his friend. "Seems in character with him so far." He said simply.
(11:26 - 11:34)
Hatsume snorted. She didn't want to, really she didn't, but she just couldn't help it. It just seemed too small of an invention to her, especially considering that's the only thing they're known for.
"Well," Mirio smiled, his closest friends immediately knowing what's about to happen. "if Jayce manages to stabilize those stones, then I'm sure his reputation will blow up from it!" He boomed with a full-blown laugh, eliciting many loud groans throughout the room.
(11:34 - 11:47)
"Oh, she's sweet." Yaoyorozu smiled, thinking she was preparing a gift for a child.
"Why does that advisor guy or whoever seems hesitant though?" Kuroiro wondered. Komori, who sat beside him, shyly shrugged, not knowing either.
(11:47 - 11:53)
"The Kirammans." Kuroiro pointed out from the Japanese subtitles.
"Seems like they're discussing Jayce." Yaoyorozu noticed and took an assumption. "Oh, and that girl who was with Jayce at the start seems to be part of that family." She said after recognizing the girl from the painted family picture.
(11:53 - 11:58)
"Hey! Not his fault!" Hatsume quickly came to his defence.
(11:58 - 12:00)
The inventor girl nodded quickly. "See, she sees it too!"
(12:00 - 12:06)
Hatsume smiled gladly. At least someone will be defending Jayce later.
"Gotta protect the resources." Toga said, sure that the woman would turn her back on Jayce the moment she fails to defend him. The guess wasn't really based on anything besides her knowing that was how those politicians usually act.
(12:06 - 12:17)
"Finally, back to the Underworld." Shigaraki groaned. He despised Piltover and thus, hated every moment they spend on them.
"And they're discussing to hit back Piltover," Dabi said.
Shigaraki nodded, though a frown marred his face. "Shit thing is, that Vander will probably refuse." He growled.
(12:17 - 12:26)
Shigaraki rolled his eyes. "Real fucking obvious that is."
(12:26 - 12:32)
"Bla-Bla-Bla..." The pale man mocked him, as he did the motion with a hand. "All I hear is just cowardly reasons for your sorry ass."
"A leader should be willing to not give up if even they failed, especially if it's only happened once!" Spinner added.
Nonetheless, it was clear to everyone else that the Villains definitely didn't like Vander and all saw him as a terrible leader for his people.
(12:32 - 12:39)
"Then fight for their freedom..." Toga murmured, her hatred for this man slowly growing with every moment.
(12:39 - 12:48)
Dabi sighed. "Nice speech and all, but that just means you're all bark, no bite."
(12:48 - 12:53)
All For One hummed. He might not like his current behaviour, but the fact remains that the 'Hound of the Underworld' managed to build something so large in his normal human lifetime, which is honestly pretty impressive, even by his standards.
Many of the Villains knew the same, too. So even if now, they dislike or even hate Vander, they could still at the very least appreciate what he has done for the Underworld.
(12:53 - 13:04)
The Villains blew into chuckles, loving the comeback.
Endeavour glared at them. "Strange, given that you all said Vander was a coward the entire time." He said, gaining glares from every one of them.
"We don't have fragile feelings like you." Dabi shot back at his father, even though the Hero himself didn't know that.
"Plus, we're still right," Shigaraki added. "He's too afraid to lose people again."
(13:04 - 13:13)
Naomasa sighed at her growing overconfidence. "Ran away from them, you mean. Beating someone and running away from someone are two entirely different things." He reminded.
"Well, they still couldn't catch a bunch of kids." Shigaraki retorted.
"Yeah, just like how you guys let a bunch of kids take back a hostage of yours." He said, eliciting a bitter memory from the man and automatically, his outrage.
"Why you-!"
"Enough." All For One firmly said, resting his large hand on Shigaraki's shoulder. The Symbol of Evil warily glanced at the speakers in the room. "Settle your differences later." He said, to an extent calming him down.
(13:13 - 13:24)
"She has her suspicions..." Uraraka said, anticipating that Ekko would spill it.
Toga giggled at that. "And when it's all spilt, Vander would be confronted by them~," She said, clearly relishing to see the confrontation.
(13:24 - 13:36)
"Finally." Spinner grinned. "Interested to see how Vander would deal with this."
(13:36 - 13:42)
Hatsume gasped, finally seeing the man again. She correctly assumed the Enforcer lady is bringing poor Jayce to the Council, much to her detest.
"He just has to not say anything about magic and the Kirammans and Heimer will deal with it." Power Loader said, though similar to Aizawa, he really doubted the man will keep his mouth shut.
(13:42 - 13:46)
"Still can't get over their intricacy." Yaoyorozu sighed pleasingly.
(13:46 - 13:50)
"Must be the other members of the Council." Aizawa pointed out, quickly inspecting each character for a brief moment.
"Wait a minute, Heimer is in the Council? And Jayce's friend's mom too?!" Kaminari gaped wide, only to be met by a deadpan from Jiro.
The punk girl rolled her eyes. "You're telling me you haven't figured that out yet?" She only expected the former to be honest, not the latter one, but it would be a cold day in Hell where she reveals that to her dunceface.
(13:50 - 13:57)
Yaoyorozu blinked in surprise. "Huh, so why did she give a child's toy to an older colleague anyway?"
(13:57 - 14:03)
In the beginning, there was only a few, until many others followed suit and laughed at what the rich woman did. Even the more reserved of them, such as Yaoyorozu, couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle.
"She owned him without him even knowing...!" Kaminari cackled, not even trying to stifle his laugh.
"Essentially commenting that his intelligence is equal to a child." Izuku was also trying hard not to blow up into a chuckle.
(14:04 - 14:11)
"Would've loved it if you died..." Shigaraki stared blankly at the screen.
"Yeah, his 'gift' wasn't even genuine or anything," Izuku added, not realizing he had just replied to a man he despises. "We saw him eating it before, meaning it's probably just a snack he was having but then gave to the old guy since he got jealous of this Medarda or wants to improve relations for his own benefit." He was quick to call out.
Toga huffed. "They're both annoying. I want them both dead." She said nonchalantly.
(14:11 - 14:12)
"Okay before all this, what on earth is that thing?" Kaminari blurted out. No one answered him beyond it possibly being an accessory, as they too have no clue as to what the neck accessory does.
But at the very least, it looked memorable.
(14:12 - 14:24)
"Ah, that's the Dean Assistant guy from the beginning! What was his name again?" Tokage asked, her right index pressing against her chin.
Izuku flipped through his notebook. "I have a page for him, but no name yet. I think he'll tell that later." He said, slightly disappointed.
(14:24 - 14:47)
"So dramatic." Toga rolled her eyes.
"Nothing wrong with that." Mr. Compress replied, frowning behind his mask. What's so wrong with wanting to have everything around you dramatic?
Dabi stared at him. "It's a waste of resources."
"True, if they have these types of meetings a lot." The man retorted. He's not defending the Council, dear no, he's defending his preference for the theatrical. "Plus, Piltover clearly doesn't lack resources." And his answer seemed to work, as Dabi stayed silent in defeat, forming a wide smile on his face, even though no one could see it.
(14:47 - 14:53)
Hatsume scoffed. She disagreed with the last part but waited to see how Jayce would defend himself.
(14:53 - 14:57)
"Still don't know what that thing is for.," Kaminari said.
(14:57 - 15:19)
The inventor girl huffed. While she heavily disagreed with Jayce causing what happened, but she supposed he had to say that, so that he could continue his research. Though at a second thought, he really should've placed some kind of locking mechanism on the container for the energy stones. 'Still not necessarily his fault what happened, however.'
(15:19 - 15:30)
Hatsume narrowed her scoped yellow eyes. "So? Mistakes happen."
"He still needs to be punished for it. What he did could kill people and destroy public property." Aizawa said to her. She grumbled, not finding a reasonable argument to that.
(15:30 - 15:38)
"See, he gets it!" Hatsume yelled in relief.
(15:38 - 15:42)
"You'll have it," The same girl continued. "when you give him some more time. I'm sure of that."
"Or his efforts will come to waste," Shigaraki replied, much to her ire and his amusement.
"Whatever. I believe him." She pouted. Izuku tried to reassure her.
"I-I believe in him, too." He said and the girl smiled, appreciating the small nice gesture. Though a certain girl definitely did not...
(15:42 - 15:50)
"Here we go." Aizawa sighed.
(15:50 - 16:07)
As the words slowly started to get to Hatsume, she breathed out when Jayce said in his true purpose. She knew this'll get Jayce into trouble, maybe even more than he has already, but if he continued lying, he'll be unable to continue his research. At least this way, he has a chance, as small as it is, to convince the Council and be given the green light to continue his research.
Everyone else though was disappointed. Jayce only got himself into more trouble by saying that.
(16:07 - 16:19)
"Huh, so it's called Arcane." Kaminari then paused. "Okay, that was pretty obvious."
"So they're Arcane stones now," Hatsume said, noting that down in her own notebook.
"And they're just like Quirks, at least in how you acquire it, I think," Izuku said. That made him wonder about this world. Are there any other sources of power, besides the Arcane? Is it exclusive to a certain race? If so, then do other alien races have their own separate sources of power? And if they indeed do, then how are they gain-
"Um, Deku..."
He snapped to Uraraka, who was nervously fidgeting. He then realized what must have happened and immediately blushed a crimson red. "I said that out loud, didn't I?" He asked, to which she nodded, causing him to sigh embarrassingly. He then apologized and the screen automatically resumed itself.
(16:19 - 16:33)
"Is that... a cyborg?!" Hatsume squealed childishly. "A race of cyborgs?!" She nearly fainted from the prospect.
The others were similarly intrigued by that. The fact that a cyborg race is real there raised several dozen questions, with the more curious ones craving to find out the answer.
"Don't worry." Amanoris' voice, the first time this episode, said. It was as if he could read people's minds; Aizawa noted that as a possibility in his head. "After episode 3, or Act 1, you all will be given a break and for you curious people, can find out about that more in the library." He informed them. The ones addressed cheered and thanked the man, now suddenly very excited for the break.
(16:33 - 16:41)
"You probably can, sure..." Power Loader glanced at his prized student. "but at what cost? What will be the consequences if you fail again?" He said, giving his student some room to think of.
(16:41 - 16:47)
At his rant, Aizawa sighed disappointingly. "You just made it all the harder for yourself."
Meanwhile, Nezu noticed something else. The intrigued expressions on both the Dean's Assistant and the Medarda girl. He sighed, knowing one of, if not the both of them, will assist Jayce and his research in one way or another.
(16:47 - 16:57)
All For One sighed. 'The longer you live, the wiser you become of the world around you.' It was just one of the perks, or curses, that comes from a long life.
During his times in isolation, every second, he always thought of his past. At times, it filled him with hatred, for he was thinking of the worldwide empire he used to rule before it all came to ruin because of All-Might and how the man had crippled him all those years ago. At other times, it filled him with longing, for he remembered the life he used to have with the brother he both loathes and loves, knowing none of them can experience that again after all that has happened.
(16:47 - 17:11)
Everyone, Heroes or Villains alike, suddenly felt a sense of dread at the expository scene. It made each of them feel a sudden sense of hopelessness.
"Absolute power corrupts absolutely," Tokoyami repeated a quote. From what he gained, the Arcane, being an ever-powerful source of strength, more often than not corrupted those that use it. And that is also reflected in their world. There were some rare cases such as All-Might, but most of the Heroes were corrupted by their Quirks and felt a sense of superiority, slowly deviating from what makes someone a Hero, and instead pursuing just fame and wealth.
(17:11 - 17:25)
"So it was founded for peace..." Izuku murmured.
Spinner scoffed at that. "But it has fallen from its original purpose." He said. 'Or it wants to maintain peace, whatever the cost is.' He doesn't care which one, both were equally pathetic in the end. He vows that the day the League changes society, they will never change their purpose; to rid of oppression, to live in an absolutely bright and clean society, to help those that need it the most.
(17:25 - 17:29)
Hatsume held her breath. "W-Wait, surely banished is too much, right?" She said, looking around the room.
Luckily, she was met by agreeing nods. "It's a bit too much." Naomasa nodded. "Locking him for a couple of years is enough, at most 20-years." Hearing that, the girl panicked once more but held her tongue, now hoping Jayce gets a much lighter punishment.
(17:29 - 17:46)
"Ah, so she's Jayce's mother." Yaoyorozu realized, the question in her and everyone else's mind now answered.
They all stayed silent, wanting to hear how the mother will defend her child.
(17:46 - 17:50)
"Wait, what?" Hatsume frowned.
(17:50 - 18:04)
The inventor girl didn't like the way she defended Jayce but held it in her, knowing that the woman was just trying to get a much lighter punishment by utilizing the hearts of the Council, or at least just some of them, since it was clear that a few couldn't care less about her plea.
(18:04 - 18:20)
Uraraka smiled, relieved. "At least it worked."
"Not in the best way, but whatever," Hatsume murmured under her breath.
In the end, most of them were happy that the caring mother managed to get her son a lighter punishment.
(18:20 - 18:26)
Hatsume opened her mouth. "Expelled?! Now wai-"
"Enough." Her sensei reprimanded. She stared at him, confusion in her eyes.
"But sensei-!"
"That's as light as he could get. He shouldn't push any further." Power Loader reasoned with her. She gritted her teeth, clearly not liking that, but she knew deep down that he was right, so she decided to not push any further.
To be honest, the man felt sympathetic for Jayce. Passionate, hard worker, doesn't like to give up, talented, and maybe more; it all reminded him of his own student, minus the more than eccentric attitude. He only disapproved of what he was doing, as it was much, much too dangerous. This was a bit of a pity since with his skills, he definitely has a bright future ahead of him.
(18:26 - 18:41)
A few chuckled at that. Seeing the annoying man get intimidated to vote just by a glare was satisfying to see.
(18:41 - 18:43)
"A divided vote," Izuku pointed out.
(18:43 - 19:08)
"Isn't that the Enforcer guy?"
"Marcus, I believe," Izuku replied to the gravity girl, having written down the man's name on Episode 1.
Observing the surroundings, Aizawa quickly concluded, "He may be engaging in illegal activity."
"Of course, NOT!" Twice suddenly shouted. "He's just searching for criminal scum. His own people, obviously." At that remark, Toga giggled.
"Well, you're not wrong."
(19:08 - 19:12)
"What the hell is that?!" Kaminari said anxiously, a bit creeped out by the sound it made.
(19:12 - 19:20)
"It's him...!" Awase warned. "What's he doing there?"
Vlad shrugged, frowning. He suspected Marcus was trying to negotiate with the Villain or the other way around. Either way, one thing was clear; whatever they're doing there, it can't be good.
(19:20 - 19:29)
"So it's the Villain that invited him." Aizawa narrowed his eyes.
(19:29 - 19:36)
All For One silently agreed. The Heroes were so busy scouring suspected Villain hideouts, they didn't even think to check inside themselves. But of course, they wouldn't. Why would they, when they believe in themselves so much? 'You're the biggest example of that, All-Might.'
(19:36 - 19:44)
"Yeah." Toga chuckled mockingly. "Must hurt their egos."
(19:44 - 19:50)
"He's going to tell him their location..." Asui said worriedly, not needing to emphasize who 'they' were.
"This is bad..." Uraraka mumbled. She hoped the sisters will be able to escape from them.
But then she blinked, realizing what she was thinking. It mixed her feelings. On one hand, she's grown affections for Vi and Powder, so it makes sense that she'd want them to escape. On the other, she was a Hero-in-training and thus, should've instead wanted for them to be caught without hassle.
She thought of her parents. Her friends. If they (hopefully not) ever commit a crime and she's cornered them, will she let them escape? Or will she let them go?
She couldn't decide right now. Sighing, she decided to think of it later, not knowing that several others had a similar internal battle.
(19:50 - 19:58)
"It's Jayce... He must be so depressed." Hatsume exhaled, pitying her fellow inventor.
(19:58 - 20:00)
Seeing the depowered stone and after everything that they've seen, many of them now started to think Jayce kept it as a reminder of his goals. Of how he can help others, just like how the mysterious figure had saved him and his mother.
(20:00 - 20:07)
"It's Jayce's mom." Ojiro realized, not recognizing the voice at first.
They all waited, knowing the mother was likely about to have a talk with her son.
(20:07 - 20:15)
"Jayce's father, probably," Izuku noted. It was clear to him and everyone else that Jayce was close to his father, something that a few of them envied.
Shigaraki closed his eyes. He could see it now. Jayce was a much, luckier version of himself. With a loving father and someone to save him during his darkest times. A luxury that he couldn't experience as a child.
Jayce was a reflection of what he could have been.
(20:15 - 20:22)
Hatsume sighed. While yes, she didn't exactly like her method of defending her son, as a mother, she raised a good point. Whether they like it or not, if she hadn't stepped up, Jayce would have been banished from Piltover. And he didn't seem like one that is able to last long outside of Piltover.
It was the perspective of a caring mother and the perspective of an ambitious young inventor.
'Still, she should've had more confidence in him.' She thought.
(20:22 - 20:31)
Aizawa nodded. Sure, you should be grateful to someone or something that has saved your life, but not to the point of risking your own later on.
(20:31 - 20:36)
Toga rolled her eyes. "If you paid attention, it's clear most of them are firmly opposed to your idea." She said stubbornly.
(20:36 - 20:40)
Izuku lowered his eyes. He was like Jayce on that one. While he has and will always love his mother, he can't deny that during that day, after his mother had failed to give the response he so desperately wanted, he had become slightly more distant from her for some time and during that period, he had only relied on All-Might's videos to keep up his dream of becoming a Hero. He still feels guilty for that, even to this day.
"Who would help him, though?"
"Those that were interested," Yaoyorozu replied to the electric boy, recognizing that a few had taken an interest in Jayce's proposal earlier during the meet.
The question is, how would he contact them?
(20:40 - 20:49)
Many of them couldn't help but pity the mother. Everything she did, in the end, was with the best intentions but all she gained in response was her son's scorn. They hoped the two would reconcile with each other, sooner or later.
(20:49 - 21:01)
"No truer words, unfortunately." Gran Torino sighed in a worn-out manner. He's seen many talented individuals cause their own demise or worse, turn to Villainy, all because they were taken away by their greed to become something more than their limits.
(21:01 - 21:05)
Power Loader narrowed his eyes. With good reason, he suspe- no, he knew that Viktor will go against what Heimerdinger wanted and still approach Jayce with the intention to assist him. And that worries the Hero.
(21:05 - 21:17)
Shigaraki scoffed. "You pity him, yet you won't help him?"
"He already did. By giving him a much lighter punishment." All-Might replied as he couldn't help but frown, vividly remembering how Shigaraki was Nana Shimura's grandson.
But the boy clearly didn't know that, evident by him glaring at the former Hero. "That little rodent is essentially Jayce's sensei. And a sensei should always help their students." He retorted, All For One smiling at that.
But the blond disagreed. "Only if it helps their growth and well-being. I don't see how Young Jayce getting himself killed is going to help." He said.
"Whatever." The young Villain snorted, not at all convinced by his argument.
(21:17 - 21:18)
"How brash. Not first securing such a dangerous object." Monoma mockingly smirked, raising a good point but his attitude made everyone else simply unable to see that.
(21:18 - 21:24)
"Wrong thing to say there," Kirishima said, knowing about the unmanly attitude he will do.
"Noticed a flaw in him." Principal Nezu started, immediately grabbing everyone's attention. "He is far too trusting. I suppose because of his important stature, no one has ever dared to betray his trust. Something that could easily be exploited by others with... unfavourable intent." He said, his words being quickly noted down by many; metaphorically by most and literally by one person.
(21:24 - 21:32)
"Knew it." Power Loader clicked his tongue, disappointed.
(21:32 - 21:37)
"Back to the Villains," Izuku said with a held breath.
(21:37 - 21:41)
"...You know, I wonder what'll happen if Tamaki-kun ate that big fishie," Nejire said suddenly, taking her two friends in surprise. "Will he get the teeth only? Or the ability to breathe underwater? Or will it be like with sharkie, the entire head, but just a lot bigger? I'm soo curious. Can he try that later?" The Hado girl asked rapidly, not giving anyone a chance to answer her question.
"U-Uh..." Mirio tried to answer first, seeing as Tamaki was panicking because of the sudden attention he's getting. "I-I don't know... How about we ask Amanoris-san? See if he can let Tamaki test that out?" He said, dodging the question and effectively throwing them to Amanoris.
To which he quickly answered. "Sure, but only inside a special room I'm preparing right now." He said, ending the conversation with that, much to the two boy's relief and the girl's joy.
(21:41 - 21:50)
"I guess in your weird edgy world, they are," Honenuki said, offending two certain dark-loving students.
(21:50 - 21:53)
"...Is that a Kraken?" Izuku muttered in disbelief.
"I, I think it is," All-Might replied in similar disbelief.
Nejire opened her mouth, her two best friends instantly knowing what she was about to say. "Moving on!" Mirio said nervously.
(21:53 - 21:59)
"The most dangerous of monsters are the ones that hide in the shadows." All For One said with a smile. He much prefers to rule in the darkness, even when his empire was known throughout the Hero Society. Shame it was all taken away by All-Might.
As if knowing what he was thinking, the former Symbol of Peace smiled at him, satisfied to have whittled down his syndicate. 'I will make sure your League is destroyed, once and for all.' He thought with burning determination. 'If not by me, then by my successor.'
(21:59 - 22:05)
Everyone was silent. Many were just trying to figure out what he meant, but a fair amount already did. Everyone, even the kindest of saints, has a monster inside of them, ready to be unleashed the moment they reached their breaking point.
Pain, betrayal, loss, rage... It didn't even have to be a negative emotion.
Too much of anything, and you can very well lose yourself.
(22:05 - 22:06)
"He's going to inject that in him!" Uraraka gasped, horrified by the implication.
Something that may even be worse than death, is losing yourself in the process of becoming something more, willingly or not.
(22:06 - 22:10)
Midnight sighed in pity. "I don't think you have a choice, dearie."
"As expected of a Villain." Vlad scoffed. "Forcing their ideas on another, without even giving them a chance to choose." He said, gaining their attention and annoyance.
"HA, very hypocritical of you!" Toga spat back. "You people force the idea that all Heroes are good and even shun someone for simply disagreeing." She stated firmly, ignoring his fierce glare. "At least we don't do that in the guise of 'justice'."
"You will regret ever saying that." Endeavour shot with a frown. The twisted girl scoffed, not bothering to point out how he had just proven her point.
(22:10 - 22:38)
"You see, power, real power doesn't come to those who were born strongest, or fastest, or smartest. No. It comes to those who will do anything to achieve it."
Endeavour scoffed, completely disagreeing with the quote. He's done everything he could to become a stronger person than All-Might, but even after all of that, the large gap between their strengths was still evident, now even more so than ever. Yes, even now, even when All-Might was at his absolute weakest, he was still weaker. It was something he discovered when he inherited the title 'No. 1 Hero'. Because he knew, the very moment he stepped up to the title, that he can never overtake or even replace All-Might and the impact he's left in society.
That is why Shoto is his last hope to go beyond All-Might. If not him, he will make sure that at least, someone of his blood achieves what he never could.
(22:38 - 22:43)
"Don't do it..." Shishida murmured, afraid of what will happen.
He saw what happened with the rat. It completely lost itself and became a mindless monster, something that he wished Deckard to never become. It was only because he has experienced it himself, that he wouldn't wish the same burden to befall another person.
(22:43 - 22:48)
"What will he do?" Kendo asked curiously and tensely. It was fight-or-flight; whichever he chooses, it will change his life, for better or worse.
(22:48 - 22:55)
A few slightly jumped. No one had expected Deckard to immediately drink the entire vial in one go, so that certainly took them by surprise.
(22:55 - 23:07)
A shiver rapidly climbed up their spines. They all knew that Deckard wouldn't be the same person as he was before. And that could just as easily happen to any of them.
(23:07 - 23:15)
"Wait, wait," Izuku blinked, having just realized something. "The warehouse Marcus was in; it was directly connected to his hideout!" He pointed out, much to the surprise and realization of many.
"That's right!".
"How didn't I see that before?"
"So Marcus could have technically ended their entire operation..."
"That is, if he even dares." Shigaraki started. "What he's doing is obviously considered illegal, so revealing their hideout automatically reveals what he did. And why do you think the coward would want to risk that?" He chuckled at the lack of a retort, relishing the small moment of victory.
(23:15 - 23:34)
"Bad reputation." Aizawa sighed at that. That's why words are always more dangerous than any action. Even if you're the most talented person of the bunch, a tarnished reputation can still ruin your future. It's even worse when you consider how easily people fall for lies.
(23:34 - 23:40)
"Your dad's an idiot then." Hatsume quickly insulted.
(23:40 - 23:46)
The inventor girl smiled at the friendly gesture, small as it is. At least even in such times of difficulty, Jayce still has those he can rely on.
(23:46 - 24:03)
"Jerk." Uraraka spat with an annoyed pout. Why even distance the two friend's from each other? Why can't they just be good friends that support each other in their worst times?
(24:03 - 24:16)
Many frowned at that, not liking how she was able to change stances so quickly. It showed that was Toga had said was true; the woman was just defending an investment earlier, before throwing him away when he has no other use. It infuriated them all.
(24:16 - 24:21)
Hatsume held a sob at his current state. She hated to see him like this, at the bottom of the barrel, having lost almost everything he once has with no chance to get it- 'No!' She shook her head. There was still a chance for him to rise up again, there always will be; all he needs is a way to find it.
She didn't know that his chance will come looking for him soon, not the other way around.
(24:21 - 24:27)
"Oh, they most definitely did." Shigaraki nodded, chuckling all the while.
Meanwhile, Mineta drooled at the Medarda's pose that especially showed her off. He was sure to hide it well though, already having enough of being slapped unconscious for the day.
(24:27 - 24:31)
Naomasa sighed, understanding their struggle. 'Such is the difficulty of finding unregistered items.' It was akin to searching for something you don't know.
(24:31 - 24:44)
The detective frowned deeply, holding himself back from letting out a slew of curses. What was frustrating was, that this also happened in their world. Society has grown so used to the presence of Heroes, they completely disregard the efforts of the police, firefighters, soldiers, and basically every other occupation out there.
(24:44 - 24:51)
"That's where you care," Naomasa said venomously. "Only when it actually involves you and your money."
"As expected," Spinner added with a nod, all while glaring at the screen.
(24:51 - 24:54)
"Enough?" Endeavour repeated, frowning. "It's only enough when you put those rats," Many frowned at the remark, not just the Villains. "behind bars, where they belong."
"He sure is infuriating." Toga whispered to Dabi, who nodded.
"Tell me about it."
(24:54 - 25:00)
Shigaraki breathed in, trying to hold back his anger. "So easy to give out orders without knowing their pain first." His hands clenched his seat's armrests until they whitened. "This is how your government is like, Heroes." He said, glaring at the aforementioned group.
"Lies," Vlad said, voice slightly raised. "Everything the government does is with the citizens in mind." He retorted, only to be met with a scoff from the Villain.
"As if. They only see us, their people, as nothing more than the fuel to their engine. Not caring how we feel, as long as we can still serve a purpose to them."
"Yeah." Toga agreed, joining in. "If they actually cared about us, they would've done more to help those that actually suffer." She venomously said, recalling her own childhood. Where no one helped while she was hunted down, all because of a Quirk she never asked for.
Vlad was quick to retort. "The government has their limits. They can't help everyone."
"But they can still do more. Much more." This time, it was Spinner who said so. "Instead of helping everyone else to understand US, the Villains, the ones in the bottom of the barrel, they instead paint us as a bunch of simple, heartless monsters, that want nothing more than destruction!" He panted, tired from all the shouting, but still firm in his words.
Vlad narrowed his eyes, a brief flash of pain and hatred in them. "But that is what you all are." He looked back towards the screen, ignoring Spinner's enraged insults.
(25:00 - 25:11)
"Is he considering it?" Sero wondered.
"Maybe." Toga huffed. If Vander actually contacted the lead Enforcer once more, it wouldn't sit well with any of them, considering how most started to take a liking to Vi and Powder.
(25:11 - 25:18)
The same girl groaned, knowing who they were. "What do those assholes want this time?"
(25:18 - 25:27)
Dabi narrowed his eyes. "He's one daring piece of shit, I give him that."
"No way Vander will give them. It's pointless." Uraraka said confidently.
Nezu nodded but knew how this could impact Vander's reputation. It all depends on how he refuses them...
(25:27 - 25:30)
"UH, SORRY!" Twice suddenly shouted. "You don't have a warrant."
"Don't think they care." Toga giggled at him, amused.
(25:30 - 25:40)
"I don't think you can handle something like that," Kurogiri said in a slightly mocking tone.
"Yeah, that at least should be true," Dabi said, fully mocking the Enforcer and to an extent, Vander.
(25:40 - 25:43)
"He's warning the others. Smart to install that before." Aizawa nodded, seeing it as a good idea.
(25:43 - 25:47)
"Fuck, that's scary!" Mineta shivered, himself not liking the warning method.
"But at least it's unique." Yaoyorozu shrugged.
"And easy to identify, given an investigation." Said Naomasa, pleased if someone he was chasing left such a noticeable clue.
(25:47 - 25:57)
"Here we go..." Uraraka murmured, tense. She and surprisingly many others hoped that they could remain undetected long enough for the Enforcer to pass.
(25:57 - 26:26)
"Where on earth are they hiding?" Kaminari asked.
"I don't know. We'll see." Jiro replied, not bothering to tease him, as she was too nervous for that.
(26:26 - 26:33)
Hagakure jumped with a short, surprised squeal. "That kinda scared me!" She breathed in and out.
(26:33 - 26:40)
Mineta held back a puke, both disgusted and afraid of what he's seeing.
"Is the drink from a fucking corpse...?!" Sero said, no one answering, as they didn't want to find out. But then the boy blinked. "...Could Mineta fit in there?" He said, surprising and severely scaring the perverted midget.
"Shut up! I definitely don't fit in there, so shut it!" He said fearfully with comically large tears streaming down his face.
"Sorry, sorry!" He quickly apologized, not wanting to hear him cry even more hysterically.
(26:40 - 26:50)
"Is he talking about the boss Villain? The one with the scars on his face." Kirishima asked, indicating using his facial features as best as he could since none of them knew his name...yet.
"Yeah. Asshole, he is." Uraraka frowned at the screen.
"But what 'stories' did he tell the Enforcer?" Aizawa asked suspiciously.
His fellow teacher shrugged. "Probably just lying, to rile up Vander." Midnight said, though the underground Hero wasn't convinced.
(26:50 - 26:52)
"Kill him."
(26:52 - 26:56)
Shigaraki sighed deeply in frustration. It was so, so easy; he was stronger, he outnumbered them severely, and they were on their home turf. Yet despite all those cheats, the coward still refused to fight back. And that annoyed the Villains to no end.
(26:56 - 27:03)
"He was not." All For One agreed. After all, the current Vander wouldn't have a chance to build something like the Lanes. So it was a pity that he now takes a peaceful route just to defend his adoptive family. 'Loving someone too much can easily cause your downfall. I learned that lesson a long time ago.' He thought bitterly.
(27:03 - 27:13)
"PTSD..." Recovery Girl assumed, sighing in pity. "Sad case, that is."
(27:13 - 27:20)
"That's a really risky spot." Mr. Compress said, assuming they were on the roof of the room they were in. "You have to stay balanced so you don't fall down and also hope no one simply looks up."
(27:20 - 27:26)
"You gotta be kidding me..." Shigaraki groaned, contrasting the many that were worrying for her. "Of course, she's the one to jeopardize the entire thing."
"Hey!" Uraraka yelled indignantly, ignoring the fear she felt from his glare aimed towards her. "She'll hold on long enough, I'm sure of that."
The Villain stayed silent for a while before he scoffed. "Maybe. But she's still risking them." To that, she had no retort to give.
(27:26 - 27:51)
"Come on, just go out already!" Ashido screamed as she and many others were feeling tense throughout the scene.
"Just hold on a little longer..." Asui ribbited in worry.
(27:51 - 27:55)
"Finally!" The gravity let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding.
Now that the Enforcer was gone, Powder and the rest could finally rest, knowing they weren't caught.
"Just fall down quietly."
(27:55 - 27:56)
"...I don't think that was quiet enough," Izuku said, now worrying that the Enforcer had heard that and will barge in once more.
(27:56 - 28:02)
"Seems like he didn't notice... somehow." The boy, relieved, but also confused.
"Well, at least Powder and the rest are safe now." Hagakure, who sat near him, said. And he agreed with her.
(28:02 - 28:07)
At Vander's cocky smirk, the Villains couldn't help but smirk alongside him. Even though they all disliked him, it was extremely satisfying to see Marcus unable to get what he wants.
(28:07 - 28:31)
The Villains all felt angry at his speech. Everything he said, all of it directly went against who they are. They were not all the same, every one of them has their backstories, different reasons for doing what they do, different likes and dislikes, and so much more. They don't mistake arrogance for bravery, they all know their limits and don't act more than that. They, the League of Villains, stand for the freedom and the help of those that are truly oppressed. They were not some hole the rest of the world forgot to bury and could be ended just as easily, they represent every flaw in society, and can never truly be extinguished as long as the world still has its flaws.
(28:31 - 28:35)
Shigaraki growled, his arms shaking from the sheer pressure he was putting on them. "I'd like to see you try."
For once, they ignored their hatred for Vander, now directing it to the Enforcers.
(28:35 - 28:43)
"Their doubt in you grows..." All For One slowly said, already knowing that would have happened. It was easy to guess, especially when Marcus began his rant, he knew how Vander would react, so he knew how that would impact him.
(28:43 - 29:03)
"Yeah. Fight. Back." Spinner said, agreeing with Vi.
Everyone knew that Vi, after hearing what has happened outside, will confront Vander about what she discovered. And they were interested to see how he will deal with that.
(29:03 - 29:08)
"She's slowly becoming like how he used to be, I think," Izuku said, noticing how she was becoming more and more aggressive.
In a grim tone, Tokoyami said, "The hatred within her heart cannot be extinguished easily."
And the Heroes didn't like that. Whether it be because they genuinely started to care for her, or simply because the concept of revenge itself goes against what they stand for, none of them wanted to see her become nothing more than a revengeful Villain.
As for the aforementioned Villains, most of them wanted to see her fight against the people that took away her own mother. But some of them were conflicted; they wanted to see Piltover get what they deserve, true, but a part of them didn't want to see Powder and the others get hurt since they weren't sure if Vi could protect them.
In the end, there were many opinions on the matter, some more sure than others.
(29:08 - 29:43)
Izuku decided to answer. "I think, he wants her to see what happened that day. The pain and suffering that was caused by their war."
The Villains scoffed at that but were willing to see what Vander has to say.
(29:43 - 29:49)
Toga nodded, agreeing with her. "They've caused so much of your suffering, they've relentlessly humiliated you, so how the fuck can you work with them?"
(29:49 - 30:03)
"And that's how you must act. If you love someone, you have to do whatever it takes to keep them safe." Dabi stated firmly.
(30:03 - 30:21)
Shigaraki shook his head at his argument. "If you fought against them until you won, thousands of children can live without oppression." He frowned. "Violence is needed for change when you're dealing with people like them."
"But," All-Might started a retort. "what if you can win peacefully? Without having to leave those thousands of children without their parents."
"Wishful thinking." The Villain scoffed in disbelief. "You actually think the people in control will be willing to change? If so, then what my sensei said was right; you're far too naïve."
However, he was quick to find a flaw in his argument. "Have they tried?"
"Huh?" He blinked, taken by surprise.
"Have they, you, the oppressed, ever tried to talk to them?" At his and every Villain's silence, All-Might nodded. "I knew it."
Toga shook her head, recovering from the surprise, and growled viciously at him. "Well, it's because we know they will refuse. That's how they all act, any-"
"Hypocrite."
She snapped her head towards Aizawa, snarling at him. "What did you say?!" She demanded an explanation, and he was more than willing to provide.
As the one Hero to have known the most regarding the Villains due to his many espionage and stealth missions where he was tasked to spy on several different criminals, he could easily guess how the League saw the rest of the world.
"You hate the fact that the news paints you all as one and the same, but you unknowingly do the same. You, the Hero Killer, the League, all of you see us, Heroes, as mostly the same. Doesn't that make you a hypocrite?"
Only silence met him. The Villains had nothing to say; whether they like it or not, they were partly the same as the ones they hated so much. And while some of them were still undeterred, many of them started to have slight doubts about what they were doing.
Soundly, the screen continued playing.
(30:21 - 30:30)
Toga stayed silent. She had grown close to many of her colleagues over the time they've been together. And was she willing to lose those people to fight for a change? Yes, before a few moments ago, that would always be her answer.
But now... what if she doesn't need to lose them? What if she could bring about a change without having to sacrifice lives in the process? It was, admittedly, wishful thinking; but no one has ever sat on a chair, broadcast it to everyone in the world, and made them all see how broken their society truly is.
She never even tried, yet she and everyone else immediately resorted to violence but in the end, all they were doing is proving that society was right; that they were nothing more than monsters that only wanted violence.
(30:30 - 30:56)
"Yeah, that's a problem." Uraraka agreed, worrying for Powder and Vi.
(30:56 - 31:03)
"Don't just say it," Toga said, though her tone was a tad softer. "Show it."
(31:03 - 31:20)
"I don't like that look..." Kendo murmured. "Will she still try to fight them?"
"No," Izuku quickly replied. "I saw it in her eyes. I... I think doesn't want to fight and risk the rest." He assumed.
Asui nodded with him. "Agreed, ribbit. But what it is she'll do, we have to wait and see."
(31:20 - 31:30)
Seeing his face looking more passive, his avid supporter and fellow inventor couldn't help but worry.
(31:30 - 31:36)
It didn't take her or anyone else long to know what he was about to do.
Izuku let out a small gasp. "He's about to kill himself..."
"No! Don't do it!" Hatsume yelled in panic and worry, her eyes growing slightly glassy.
"I didn't imagine it'd take this much of a toll in him..." Recovery Girl said regretfully.
(31:36 - 31:49)
"No, nononono-!" The pink-haired girl repeated rapidly. She didn't want to see him kill himself, no, he could still fix all of this! "Someone stop him..."
(31:49 - 31:56)
"Oh, thank god...!" Hatsume breathed in a sigh of relief.
"It's the Dean Assistant," Izuku noticed. Hearing that, the girl was quick to thank him multiple times in her mind.
(31:56 - 32:00)
She snarled at him. "No, what is YOUR problem?!" She was clearly genuinely mad on what Jayce almost did.
(32:00 - 32:13)
"It's his notebook." Hatsume huffed. "He can do whatever he wants with it."
(32:13 - 32:23)
"He isn't the only one." All For One said. Other than that Medarda girl, he himself was also, admittedly, interested in his research. But how could he not, after seeing everything that it could do?"
(32:23 - 32:28)
"Hm, Hextech..." Izuku noted it down innocently.
Unfortunately, a certain pervert couldn't help but utter, "You mean SEXTECH-" His words ended, as he was slapped into the realm of unconsciousness by Asui. It wasn't fast enough, however, since Mineta had already managed to say what he wanted and causing severe blushes to sprout among the audience.
(32:28 - 32:39)
"And you don't know how dangerous magic could be." Power Loader said, remembering how even the flashback managed to embed fear in his heart.
(32:39 - 32:51)
"Wait you're, from the Undercity?" Toga was in shock, same with the rest of the Villains. With the reveal, their interest in the man has spiked exponentially.
(32:51 - 33:02)
Yaoyorozu couldn't help but smirk, remembering their argument during the last episode. "See? I knew I was right." She said a bit smugly.
The aforementioned snarled at her. 'Bitch.' Along with All-Might and the green-haired kid, he added her too to his short 'personally-kill' list.
(33:02 - 33:07)
Hatsume smiled in content. She was glad that someone genuinely believed in Jayce, and that act alone was enough to put whoever this man is into her list of favourite people. 'Hopefully, I can find out his name soon.'
Power Loader, however, sighed in slight frustration. There was no stopping them, that much was clear, so at the very, very least he hoped that this 'Hextech' theory of his will not fail.
(33:07 - 33:18)
"When you're going to change the world, don't ask for permission."
Power Loader disagreed. "But what if what you're doing is dangerous and an accident happens? That's essentially the same as taking away innocent lives without their permission."
"But," Hatsume once again retorted against her sensei. "if it can save countless lives, you need to take that risk."
"This isn't just 'some' lives, Hatsume. As Heimerdinger said-" His student interrupted.
"No." She simply said, before giving an elaboration. "If what he said was true, then we should learn from our mistakes, instead of fearing them. They've already known that the Arcane stones are unstable, so we just have to stabilize them and Jayce already even has a theory on it! If we let past mistakes govern us, we wouldn't have progressed as fast as we are."
Power Loader was silent. He couldn't believe the amount of conviction his student contained in her every word. By the time he's snapped out of it, the screen has played once again. 'I'll speak to her about that later.'
(33:18 - 33:37)
"Viktor..." Hatsume, along with Izuku, quickly wrote down the name. "Finally." The both of them said together, eliciting a surprised laugh from the both of them.
'They get along well.' Uraraka smiled eerily, causing those nearest to her to scoot away.
(33:37 - 33:47)
"Not so fast." All-Might frowned.
"Vi will stop them," Izuku added knowingly.
(33:47 - 34:00)
Midnight sighed in pity. "Just a child, but even she is ready for war." Children her age should be playing with dolls or something innocent, not... this.
(34:00 - 34:04)
"Actually hoping it doesn't, hehe..." Uraraka chuckled nervously, really not wanting to see those nail bombs work in action.
(34:04 - 34:14)
"Her toy bunny..." The same girl gasped.
"She got it back. So sweet." Asui ribbited, her lips forming a soft smile.
(34:14 - 34:18)
Spinner despite himself couldn't help but smile, thankful for her words. He's always been ridiculed for his animalistic appearance, so her words warmed him, if only by a little bit. The same was true for everyone else with animal-related mutant Quirks.
(34:18 - 34:28)
Everyone noticed how she looked at the end, causing many of them to feel worried for her.
Recovery Girl sighed. Powder clearly seemed to grow more sorrowful without her sister, and how she always latches near her didn't help. Not to mention that there were understandable reasons as to why that was. She has lost her parents at a much younger age than Vi and even if she did respect him, Vander seemed much closer to Vi than he was with Powder, and with her relationship with Mylo and Claggor, she's practically lived her entire life with only Vi as her pillar.
She hoped that one day, someone else may share that role for Powder.
(34:28 - 34:36)
"If you consider what happened as 'results', then sure." Aizawa rolled his eyes.
(34:36 - 34:38)
"What the Council had said could very well cause a civil war..." The former Symbol of Peace said truthfully.
(34:38 - 34:44)
"Vander is calling them!" Tetsutetsu said, shocked by that.
That first led them all to assume that he was selling out Vi and the rest, but on second thought, they all quickly knew it simply didn't make sense for him. He's so adamantly refused to hand over his family, that it was completely out-of-character for him to suddenly change his mind without reason. And that then led them to recall what he said at the bridge.
"I'll figure it out."
Did he finally find a way to resolve all of this? If so, they wondered what it was.
(34:44 - 35:12)
"That's not as much as I expected them to be," Kaminari said towards the surprisingly small force. Sure, they were going to arrest just a bunch of teenagers, but the problem is the place in which they will arrest them.
"The Enforcers seem to be lacking in quantity, that's why they sent only a couple," Naomasa explained what he assumed. "But they seem to thrive in quality, in contrast to the Undercity."
One of the Villains wanted to point out how the Enforcers had lost to a couple of random teens, but now knowing that it'd lead to the detective reminding them of their failure in containing Bakugo, quickly shut the idea down.
(35:12 - 35:20)
"Oh, Powder..." Uraraka stared at the screen in pity. She didn't like to see the little girl so down.
(35:20 - 35:37)
"Time for the dad to cheer her up!" Ashido smiled widely, appreciating his attempt.
But Izuku noted something. "Why is he there, though? Didn't he call the Enforcers to him?" Realizing that, the others grew confused and even worried now. So who was the one...?
(35:37 - 35:40)
Hearing the voice, many in the audience quickly realized who it was. "That's Vi!" Tokage pointed out.
"Yeah," Her fellow greenette, Izuku, nodded. "but where is she? And why is she breaking down the door?" He had so many questions but patiently waited to see if they would be answered.
(35:40 - 35:55)
Seeing every detail of their facial features, made Recovery Girl murmur, "Just realized it now, eh?"
It was clear to her and everyone else that while Vander is a wise man and a great father, he still favoured some of his children over the rest; the top of the list being Vi. So understandably, it only strengthened Powder's attachment issues to her only sister, which in this case was unfortunate. And now, it seems that Vander has finally seen it too.
She'd be happy if the man could now redeem some much-needed time with Powder, but seeing how things were now developing, she didn't want to bring her hopes up.
(35:55 - 36:01)
"'Benzo's'! Weird name. Kinda good actually. Okay, it's really good!" Twice said indecisively, confusing and annoying many others.
His friend, Toga, didn't seem to mind, however. "Yeah!" She nodded. "Should call this little group of ours 'Shiggy's'. What do you think, Shiggy?"
"I'll kill you."
Ignoring the light banter, Spinner wondered if this was the first time he's seen the name, leading him to question the figure beside him. "We already saw it on Episode 1, but it's rather hard to notice since it went by fairly quick." To which the lizard-like Villain appreciated.
(36:01 - 36:11)
Having it confirmed, they wondered why Vi was there. "She seems to be waiting for something," Uraraka murmured.
"Or someone..." Izuku added before a thought struck his mind. "Could she be the one that called for the Enforcers?"
"What?!" Kaminari voiced out his and many others' surprise. "Why would she though?" He asked in dumbfounded confusion.
"I assumed because she has a reason to." He started to explain. "She still wanted to make a change, but now, she was convinced to go after a more passive route and take all the blame. At least, that's what I think."
His best friend then voiced out her worry. "But... what about Powder?" She said, and immediately, his face took on a sad turn.
"She'll... be left alone." He choked on his words as if they alone were painful to say.
Her eyes, and many others too, widened in alarm. "No, she can't just abandon her!" Asui ribbited in a panicked tone. The fellow green-haired classmate looked down, unable to say much else, but it sent one message clear to everyone else.
'She will be abandoned.'
Everything that is happening certainly hinted so, and there's nothing any of them can do to change it, making the Heroes feel helpless once more. It was one of their jobs to save others, but not being able to now made them frustrated, especially considering there was literally nothing they could do to help. Even if Powder could even be considered a criminal, it doesn't change the fact that she was just a child and should still be saved.
But that doesn't mean that it was set in stone. Someone can still change that and they knew who it was.
'Please, Vander... Stop Vi from doing this.'
(36:11 - 36:36)
The audience hitched their breaths, surprised and a bit irritated at the cliffhanger.
Initially, they were relieved, seeing as it was hinted that Vander would arrive there first and stop Vi, but seeing the ending crushed their hopes of that happening. It made them both sad and frustrated, both because of how Vi has now just... practically abandoned Powder. The Hero trainees were used to experiencing relatively happy endings, where they prevailed in the end, so seeing this all happen was a new and uncomfortable feeling to them.
The Villains felt somewhat the same. They were angry at Vi, enraged even, because of the decision she made today; but none felt more so than Shigaraki. He felt the most anger at Vi and the most pity for Powder, understandably so, seeing as how he has experienced something similar himself. The feeling of being left alone, of being betrayed by your own family... it was an all-too-familiar feeling to the Villain. So seeing this happen to another person made him feel something he never expected himself to feel again.
Sympathy.
(36:36 - 40:33)
There wasn't much else to say, besides most of them slowly feeling impatient during the credits scene, all while trying to figure out what else would possibly happen the next episode. Mainly, what will happen next regarding the new alliance between Jayce and Viktor.
Slightly edited, on the part where Silco makes Deckard to drink the Shimmer.
