Anamnesis: Synthesized Love

MOMO waited patiently outside for Juli to finish the final adjustments of the analysis room.

Even though on the outside MOMO appeared bright and cheerful, she often at times wondered if her parents ever loved her for who she was, than rather just a genetic copy of Sakura herself.

She swayed her small legs back and forth whilst looking out towards the bright blue sky, hiding her sadness was never easy so she'd often occupy herself with her crew to clear her mind a bit.

"Mommy." The realian sighed, "Is there really something wrong with me-?"

"Why- why don't you ever look or acknowledge me?"

Her expression turned sad as the waiting now felt like hours instead of a few minutes.

MOMO's head suddenly lifted up upon feeling a familar presence walk past, into the maintenance room where Juli currently was.

Juli's eyes were covered in the digital blue screen's hue as she navigated through the many status screens, inputting the countless passwords in.

She suddenly stopped upon hearing her door close, turning around Juli was met with Gaignun's calm yet concerned green eyes.

Even though his voice was soothing as it always was, he was concerned about Juli's relationship with MOMO as of late.

"It's unsual to see you not knee deep in paperwork today, Director." Juli smiled with laugh before turning off the screen behind herself.

Gaignun did a small laugh in reply, "I had Junior take care of it for the day, I've been worried about alot of things recently, so I figured to take a walk through the Foundation."

Juli thought to herself for a moment before giving a serious look back.

"Your brother Albedo, I'd imagine?" Albedo was one of his problems but wasn't his priority right now funnily enough, MOMO was concerned about and the recent sadness he felt whenever he went past her.

Everyday, Gaignun came by to check on the poor realian.

MOMO looked like fine on the outside, but however he'd always feel an sad mental disturbance linger whenever he went past.

Gaignun discovered that, she was actually trying to hide how she felt, in truth MOMO was constantly afraid that no one would listen to her or they wouldn't understand her.

"What I've heard from him does worry me. But I'm more worried about-" Gaignun suddenly hesitated as he struggled to put what he wanted to say into the right way of words.

Worried that he might upset her accidentally if he worded it the wrong way.

He was the considerate type, he wouldn't just say something without considering it carefully first.

He sighed before looking back towards Juli's face, finally getting the courage to speak about MOMO directly to her.

"I've noticed MOMO's feeling a bit off recently, as you know yourself- she's sometimes shy when trying to say what's on her mind."

Juli's heart skipped a beat upon hearing her other daughters name, she loved her in her own way, but couldn't love her to the fullest extent purely because she was replica of her other late daughter Sakura.

"MOMO really does adore you Juli," He spoke with honesty, hoping to try and get Juli to spend some time with her.

Praying that Juli would realize how badly she's hurt her by refusing to acknowledge her.

"Don't you think- it's at least time to pay her a visit and tell her how you feel about her?"

Gaignun's concerning tone somehow resonated with Juli, she realized that all this time she'd been treating the poor child like an object.

Juli couldn't see past MOMO's mechanical side, not since she realized that her husband actually created her for the sole purpose to replicate Sakura herself.

"I really should, the analysis isn't starting until later on today anyway."

Satisfied with her answer, Gaignun gave a gentle smile in response.

"I'm glad you've made the right decision to see her, she's been wanting to see you for so long."

Juli nodded before looking back towards her family portrait.

"I've been struggling to converse with her, but that will have to change in the near future.

You are right, I'll talk to her once these reports of mine have been sent over."

"Her mind will be cut off for a while so the company with greatly help with her neural pathways, particularly the emotional side. I don't want her worrying anymore than what she already has."

She watched Gaignun wave goodbye before he walked off towards the shuttleship, another few moments went by as the discussion from before left her thinking deeply about her connection with MOMO.

Finally, she opened the door with the push of a side button, the doors automatically opened while the fresh air flowed through.

Her green eyes suddenly shifted over to see MOMO sitting on one of the benches by herself.

Upon turning around, the realian gave a big smile upon seeing her mother.

With open arms, MOMO ran into her before wrapping her in a warm embrace.

"Mommy, I'm glad you kept your promise! I knew you would!"

MOMO giggled happily away as for the first time in a while, Juli pulled a small smile.

"I really do love you MOMO, even though I'm caught up with work. I- I've just wanted to say how much I dearly care about you."

MOMO fell apart, her heart glowed with adoration before looking back up towards her.

"I'm glad you accept me for who I am Mommy, that- that I'm not just a tool, that I'm just like everybody else!"

"That's right, you've always been like us- MOMO don't let anyone else tell you otherwise." Juli smiled before shedding a tear.

Gaignun entered his office to see Junior finishing up the last of the paperwork on his desk.

He lifted his face up to see Gaignun close the door behind himself.

Funnily enough, Gaignun expected to see the work all messed around everywhere but it was quite the opposite.

Junior neatly piled the last of the pages together before putting his hands behind his head casually.

"How was the local stroll, did ya see anyone else on the way?"

"I had a discussion with Juli about some urgent matters, but it seems now she's already taking care of them now." A gentle smile formed as Junior smiled back, now curious at what Gaignun spoke about with her.

"What did you say, there's gotta be a reason why you're smiling like that!"

He looked back before pulling his chair in closer to his desk, "She's spending time with MOMO. Finally giving her work a rest."

"Damn, it's about time she'd stop being so cold towards her. I asked her the same thing but she told me some crap about how loving a copy isn't the same as the real thing!"

"But I think she's only just realized, Junior." Gaignun suddenly intervened, "Maybe, she just needed some time to settle before talking to her. I mean- it's like whenever you bother me while I'm in my conference calls."

"Nah, last time I checked- asking what you want for lunch is being considerate not being a major pain in the ass." The redhead smirked back before suddenly Gaignun laughed in response.

"Don't be like that, you know exactly what I mean!" Gaignun teased before his brother gave a gentle shove.

"Yeah, yeah keep on laughing. But the next time you're hungry during a conference meeting don't bother me!"

For a moment Gaignun thought to himself, before suddenly he countered back to Junior's argument with a small smile.

"Heh, that's fine then I'll just have a small stash of food ready then for when that time comes, won't I?"

The two laughed the rest of the afternoon away with their humor, as slowly Gaignun's worries disappeared.

He thought to himself with a smile,

"I'm glad she's opened up towards her, I wish I could've stayed to see the outcome."
