Seaside

From the pier Jr watched the waves crash past the rocks, simultaneously he focused himself to relax and inhale the fresh sea's breeze.

Distant caws of the seagulls could be heard, almost echoing inside his ears.

The beach was beautiful, every grain of the yellowish-brown sand had started to glisten with the sun's rays.

Due to Jr's intense love for action and his youthful mindset, many of the Foundation's civilians didn't think that he'd even like some time to unwind- but that wasn't entirely true.

Behind his blue eyes of undying passion, hid a heavily burdened soul.

Reflecting upon all it Jr realized that he'd lost so many of his loved ones, to the point where even he often wondered to himself-

How did he manage to bounce back from it all?

Most people would've summed it down to just resilience and courage, but he couldn't help but think that there was much more.

More components, more feelings that hid behind closed doors.

Memories hadn't concerned him for a while, especially after the tragedy of killing his own brother.

It had changed him, it had broke him- but for the better as well.

He moved on along with his resolve, determined to one day be reunited again... And sure enough- they did.

Under dire circumstances of course, they killed their father Dimitri and freed Gaignun from his influence.

But only that in return killed Gaignun alongside him, another person he cared about- wrongfully snatched away by death.

His attention was suddenly caught once he'd heard approaching footsteps from behind.

Quickly realizing who it was, Jr gently smiled before he tapped down onto the pier edge.

"It's been a while since we've hung out like this, huh?"

The redhead moved to the side a little, to make some room for Chaos to sit beside him.

"Yeah it really has, I guess it's because we're constantly engaged in combat."

Chaos looked out into the distance to see the swift yet agile movements of the Dinah, cutting through the many practice data-dummies.

It started with a singular shot from a Volan, before unleashing a lethal horizontal slash downwards.

Jr leaned forward a little, absolutely taken aback in awe.

"That's pretty awesome, Shion really has improved with craft usage!" Like a child, his face lit up in excitement upon seeing the X-BUSTER attachment suddenly appear.

Chaos on the other hand couldn't help but laugh and smile, Jr was totally in his element right now.

He'd loved the Asher and it's massive artillery to choose from, as he'd call it- it was almost like a buffet of firearms!

"Shion in general has improved, she's been through so much- especially with Kevin."

With a scowl Jr turned to face the other side, to watch the other civilians walk past.

"Pfft. That guy really treated her like shit, he only wanted her for T-elos' Project development and nothin' more."

Quickly looking back at what he'd said, Jr shook his head before attempting to rephrase his words around.

"But really- I can't blame Shion though, I too went through that same stage once."

Chaos cocked his head in clarification, "You mean with Albedo, right?"

"Yeah, I can't help myself sometimes- I still think back on everything even though we're this far."

"I just- can't believe we're together again."

Suddenly he felt Albedo's consciousness flow through himself, now hearing his voice starting to resonate via a spiritual link.

("Do I sense that's spoken with spite, I swear you're never satisfied are you..?")

With a quick inaudible mutter under Jr's breath, he hushed and shut out his brother's voice.

("Shut the hell up will you, can't you tell we're in a conversation!")

With an eye roll, Jr cleared his throat before attempting to speak back to Chaos again.

However it only took a few moments before he started up again, now wanting to annoy him further.

("Rubedo.") Albedo spoke in a soft yet smug whisper, ("You said *we're, that includes me as well.")

Oh- Jr didn't even need to see, he could already feel his brother suddenly smirk "victoriously", like always trying to invoke a violent reaction back.

But to Albedo's surprise, Jr simply shrugged it off like nothing- though feeling a bit agitated.

("Yeah- whatever, Tch.")

With an annoyed and defeated sigh, Jr finally managed to stop resonating the spiritual link.

But naturally Chaos looked back with concern at the frustrated URTV, wondering who he'd been talking to.

He turned back with folded arms, still pretty pissed off at his brother's intrusion.

"Just Albedo again, man and I figured he'd be asleep or something...! Shit."

With a frustrated pinch of his nose, he quickly pushed it all aside.

"Anyway- there's actually something I wanted to ask you..."

For a moment Jr's index finger slid past his chin, trying to remember his question that he'd put aside.

"Chaos, what are your fondest memories?"

It was definitely an interesting one, Chaos had many different memories.

He'd meet so many different people during his travels, he'd travelled on so many ships.

Chaos couldn't really choose what to really share, he had that many memories in life.

However it was once his sight had changed to see the Elsa, it jogged his memory a little.

"I can remember pretty well the first time I'd met everyone at the Elsa."

"Do you want to know more?"

With a silent nod Jr moved to face him, getting ready to hear what Chaos had to say with a smile.

"Yeah, of course. I've got some to share as well."

Their minds had begun to reflect back far into the past, almost the memory felt like it came alive they'd remembered it all so clearly.
