A few days later…

21:47pm

(Y/n) warily lifted her eyes to the annoying tapping foot that belonged to Eddie as he and Venom glared at her expectantly for an answer. It had been a couple days since they first met and there was no progress on this killer. All that was on their wall was a picture of a calling card that (Y/n) had memorised and drawn. They also had a map of the whole of California with a circle of where the killer first hit in Sacramento. That's all they had for now and it wasn't much to go on at all. It also didn't look good for (Y/n) since there had been no activity which, really, is a good thing, but it just meant that it could be that she was lying since she couldn't get out to kill anyone and it seemed that Eddie was slowly losing faith in her.

"Can you please stop looking at me like that," the young woman said as she turned in Eddie's swivel chair and leaned against the desk, holding her head in her hands. How was she supposed to get out of this one?

"Why does it make you feel guilty?" Eddie asked spitefully. "Are you scared?" The woman moved her right arm and tilted her head to the side slightly to stare at Eddie with only her right eye, glaring deeply at him. She didn't say a word. The eerie quietness and the dark, scrutinising look she was giving him made the reporter shiver. Even Venom was a bit startled by that look. They couldn't see her mouth or nose as they were covered by her bicep. Just that one (Y/e/c) eye staring at them. But the woman didn't say anything except turn her head away, now facing the brick and cradling her head in her crossed arms that rested on the desk. Eddie frowned at her, perplexed by the unusual behaviour. She didn't fight back like she would before, it was almost like she was losing hope too.

Dark thoughts ran through the young woman's head, the 'what-ifs'. What if it turned out this guy decided not to commit a crime again? What if the calling card was just a prop, to make it seem she was a serial killer? Maybe they had something against the family and wanted revenge and it was a one off set of killings that they could easily pin on her? What if Eddie was going to take her in now?

That idea only deepened her into her wallowing grief. She didn't want to be alone in this and she had found someone but now she was slowly going to square one with him. She didn't want that, she was actually starting to like the guy. She felt safe with him by her side and much more confident in having him help her, especially since he was a reporter. He was probably going to be a lot better at this investigative shit than her. (Y/n) felt a warm tear dribble down her cheek as she inhaled and exhaled shakily. The dread and despair became heavy on her chest and back. She needed some air.

Eddie noticed her unsteady breath and was going to question her about it but she abruptly pushed herself away from the table and stood up, grabbing her hoodie that held her wallet and mask before making her way into the direction of the door. Seeing her intentions, Eddie stumbled up from the stool he had sat on minutes ago and moved around the island in his kitchen. Before she could open it, he placed his hand down on it and slammed it shut, getting between (Y/n) and the door.

"What do you think you're doing?" He catechised her and she narrowed her eyes at him.

"Out," she replied bluntly before trying to move to the side to get by, however due to his bigger figure she wasn't having much luck.

"No you're not," he said, the decline made the (Y/h/c)'s head snap at him, her eyes regarding him fiercely. This man had some audacity to tell her what she could and couldn't do.

"What did you just say to me?" she tilted her head slightly as she moved closer to him in a poor attempt at intimidating him.

"I'm not giving you a chance to go out and kill again, you're staying here," Eddie said, bringing his face closer to hers, the two glaring at each other, challenging each other. He watched her jaw clench and her nostrils flare in clear agitation. (Y/n) was first to break the stare as she scoffed, shaking her head as she moved to the sofa. He heard her mutter a 'for fuck's sake' before she slumped down.

"Fine, could you get the hair dye for me then?" the woman asked in a rather passive aggressive tone before huffing and looking away from him. When she didn't hear a peep, she looked back at him to find him giving her a look of disbelief. "What? We talked about this already,"

"That was before I started doubting you,"

"Oh, for fuck's sake, Eddie. That's your problem whether you believe me or not. I've told you countless times I'm not a killer.. It's not like I'll be going anywhere after anyway, it's just so I can go out without having to wear a mask and find the bastard without having to worry about the police… that's if I ever get to go out again whether that's because you don't let me or because you end up stabbing me in the back and turning me in," she said, looking him up and down distastefully. Apparently something about that rant didn't sit well with Eddie because his expression twisted into one equivalent to a slapped ass.

"You! Don't move an inch from where you are sitting. If I get back and you're not here, Venom and I are going to hunt you down and rip you to shreds," (Y/n) didn't bat an eyelid at his threat but not a minute after she tutted and rolled her eyes.

Eddie huffed before grabbing his keys and left his apartment, making sure to slam the door on the way out and he made sure not to forget to lock the door too.

The reporter urged himself to calm down as he left his apartment complex.

"That woman is so… infuriating!" he complained in a low tone.

You do realise she's not lying.

"Yes, I know, but I can't help the doubt that keeps creeping in,"

Right, but are you really going to keep her in until someone else dies, just to make sure she's telling the truth?

Eddie didn't respond to that however he felt his face twitch in irritation. The Symbiote had a point. He couldn't afford to waste time in deciding whether she was the killer or not, she had told her side and she had wounds to prove it, she cried. Her torment was real, he knew that for a fact. A killer wouldn't hold that much torment and one might assume that it was remorse she held in her eyes but the grief was different, there was sorrow there too.

It wasn't long before Eddie found himself outside the drugstore where he would usually buy his shampoo and deodorant etc. He was sure he'd noticed a section of hair dye at some point when he would cut through the Health and Beauty aisle to get to the checkout. He entered the shop, the buzzer indicating that a customer had entered the clerk who was working there. The girl smiled in greeting and he gave an awkward one back with a slight nod. His eyes flickered nervously from her to the aisle; he believed the hair dye was down until the shelves blocked her view of him. He slowly walked up the aisle, scanning each shelf as went by until he found the many boxes of different hair colours and there were loads. Eddie's eyes widened and he gazed at them warily. Did (Y/n) have a specific colour in mind? Surely not, right?

"Why are there so many colours to choose from?" Eddie whispered to himself as he tried to think what she would want.

Should have asked what she wanted before you left, dumbass.

"I would've if the both of us weren't so riled up,"

Well a good start would be to not be looking at the (Y/h/c) shades. What colour do you think would look best on her?

"Why does it matter whether it will look good on her or not?" Eddie frowned as he eyed the other hair colours. Why did there have to be so many?

Personally, I think (N/h/c) would suit her best. [(N/h/c) stands for new hair colour)] Venom spoke with a hint of fondness in its voice and it didn't go unnoticed by Eddie. He raised a brow but the more he pictured (Y/n) with the hair colour, the more he couldn't help but agree with Venom's statement.

"(N/h/c) it is then," the reporter said. "Now which shade?"

I think… the lighter/darker. Again, Eddie was quiet, trying to imagine her again with each shade. He agreed with his Symbiote once again, and picked up the lighter/darker shade of (N/h/c) before making his way to the checkout. He smiled at the clerk before placing the box on this countertop. He watched her stare at the box before raising an eyebrow and casting her gaze to him in a curious manner as she chewed her gum obnoxiously. She picked up the box and proceeded to scan while Eddie stuffed his hands in his pockets to find his wallet.

"That'll be $3.50, you need a bag?" she asked as Eddie pulled out a $5 bill and handed it to her.

"Nah, I'll be fine," he replied and waited patiently for his change. He thanked her and bid her farewell before exiting the drugstore, heading in the direction of his apartment. It was quiet between the reporter and the Symbiote for a while until Eddie decided to question him. "Venom. What do you think of (Y/n)?"

Why the sudden interest?

"It's just…" the man quietened as someone passed by before speaking up again. "You seemed a bit… I don't know excited when you suggested the hair colour,"

I did? Hmmm, well yes, I do like her. She's very feisty… can stand up to herself. What about you, Eddie?

He didn't respond straight away. What did he think of her? So far, his first impression wasn't exactly great but he could tell she had a caring nature about her, a fiery one too. If she wasn't a wanted criminal, he would gladly say that he considered her an acquaintance but as of now, she wasn't really anything to him. Finally making a decision, he gave Venom his answer however he made sure to shrug to show he was on the fence about it.

"Hmmm, yeah I suppose you could say I like her-" before anything else could be said, a woman screamed from an apartment right beside him, then the sound of a window smashing in the alleyway a few feet away.

Oooo, is that food for me?

Eddie could practically hear the grin in its voice as he sprinted to the alleyway, keeping his back to the wall, he peered around, his eyes finding nothing, so he looked up to the fire escape to see a figure running down the steps before getting on the ladder. The woman's frightened whimpers could still be heard from within the building as others in the area quickly began to call the police. Eddie watched the figure drop down before running into the shadows of the alleyway and suddenly sprinting out. The reporter grabbed him, dropping the hair dye on the floor. He took note of his scrawny male like frame as he tried to take a good look at the guy but he was wearing a full face mask. The masked man's eyes narrowed before shoving the reporter away with surprisingly a lot of strength and took off into the night. Startling any one else around the area.

"Did you get a look at their face?" someone asked and Eddie only shook his head as he picked up his purchase. Out of curiosity, the reporter went down the alley, remembering the guy's weird behaviour. Eddie took out his phone and put on the torch, shining in the dark corner. For a moment, he thought he wasn't going to find anything. That was until something on the wall caught his eye, it looked like a sticker. As he moved closer to get a better view, his brown eyes widened. This is what he needed. His clarity. Finally, he had his answer and everything was clear. It wasn't her. He knew that but this… this was his golden piece of proof, he just needed to get back and make sure she was where he left her.

Eddie didn't waste another second in taking a photo before sprinting out the alley and down the road, narrowly dodging past people as he held the hair dye tightly. Beginning to crumple and dent the box but he ran faster, as fast as his legs could take him. He bolted through his apartment building door and leaped up the steps two at a time before finally coming to a stop at his door. He took a moment to catch his breath as he quietly unlocked the door. He gently pushed it open and what he saw gave him a huge sense of relief.

(Y/n) hadn't moved an inch from her spot and she was also sound asleep, snoring softly. Eddie couldn't help but grin, knowing for sure now that he wasn't an accessory to murder however knowing that she wasn't the one was… made him ecstatic. He could give her his full care now, help her find the actual killer and most of all help her heal, move on. He slowly shut the door so only a soft click was heard and made his way over to the couch, never taking his eyes off the sleeping woman. Eddie gently took a seat beside her, and he couldn't help but notice her tear-stained face.

"Hey, (Y/n)," the reporter gently called to her but she didn't respond and so Eddie placed a hand on her shoulder and shook her tenderly. "Come on, (Y/n). Can you wake up for me? I need to talk to you," he whispered and finally the (Y/h/c) began to stir.

"Hm? Eddie?" she questioned as she lifted her head, her eyes squinting as they burned from crying not too long ago. She wiped the dribble from the corner of her mouth quickly out of embarrassment before focusing on her ally who seemed to be in rather odd spirits.

"It's not you ," he said simply, making her frown and roll her eyes as she got up, moving unsteadily to the kitchen to get some water.

"That's what I've been telling you this whole time," she repeated tiredly.

"No, no. I mean for sure now. I believe you!" Eddie said, getting up to join her in the kitchen.

"Why the sudden certainty?" she questioned, still peering at him through squinted eyes. The man's face was a complete polar opposite of hers, a smile rested on his lips and she noticed he seemed quite tearful too. The reporter explained what happened to her in detail and as he continued on he saw a small fire of hope light up again in those (Y/e/c) eyes.

"- and look what he left behind," he said as he showed her the picture he took. Her eyes widened in complete shock as she slammed the glass of water on the counter and brought the phone closer to her face. "That's his calling card right?" His response was a rapid nodding of the head.

"Did he-?" (Y/n) asked but Eddie shrugged before moving to the TV. He turned it on, surely there was a report on it by now. He soon came to the channel and the two had their answer.

'Tonight, a family home was broken into not long ago by the Child Killer, (Y/n) (Y/l/n).

Fortunately, the children are safe and unharmed, the mother entered the room and managed

to scare off the Killer. However, we would like to relay that she is still on the loose and is now

hiding in the streets of San Francisco. An urgent reminder to keep your doors and windows locked

at all times and please stay safe.'

Eddie watched as (Y/n) released a deep sigh at the news.

"Good. That's good," she muttered to herself. She didn't care that she was still a wanted person, the fact those children were safe gave her a sense of peace for now.

"(Y/n), they're not out of the woods yet I think. He left his mark and they're still alive,"

"You think he's going to come back? To finish the job?" She questioned as she brought her right to her mouth to chew on a nail. Eddie nodded.

"Yes, but it also means we'll have a chance of getting him, or finding more information on him," hearing that, (Y/n) stopped her nail biting and looked at him in awe. It was true, this was their chance at getting more clues and she may even be able to capture him herself.

"When do we go?" She asked enthusiastically, startling Eddie. "We can't waste time. What if he comes back sooner?"

"W-well we could do a stake out?" The older man suggested and (Y/n) took a moment to think.

"Yes. Yes, we'll do that," she said before running to grab her coat and beanie but Eddie was quick to stop her.

"Wait a second, don't you want to change your hair first?" He shook the bottle and she approached him to have a better look. "Venom said that colour would suit you," upon hearing his host put him, his head appeared from Eddie's back.

It was a group decision. He wants to see you with that hair colour just as much as I do!

He protested, making sure to drop Eddie in it as well. Said man immediately laughed nervously, glaring at the parasite.

"Well it's not about whether I look good in it, I just need something to make sure they don't recognise me for long enough. But no, I'll do it later, my mask and beanie will do the job just fine for now. Can we please go now, we're wasting valuable time," she said, putting the box on a nearby table. Before she could move to the door though, Eddie grabbed her wrist and spun her back to him and engulfed her in a hug. She was surprised at first and wanted to move away but he held her tight.

"Don't move away. Let me hold you for a moment. I want you to know I'm here for you and how sorry I am," he muttered into her hair as he gently stroked her head. (Y/n) didn't say anything before fully accepting the hug, wrapping her arms around him and pressing her face into his chest. She inhaled his scent and let it calm her nerves. The hug was so caring and comforting that she almost didn't realise that Venom had joined the hug, wrapping its neck around her back and tucking its head between her and Eddie. The three pulled away, a blush on Eddie's face, seemingly embarrassed by what he did but he knew he enjoyed it. (Y/n) too felt her face heat up, she already missed the small interaction.

"Thank you," she said softly, the smile she gave him was small and he couldn't help but put a hand on her head.

"Come on you, let's go get that bastard," with that, the shorter female gave him a single determined nod before leading the way out the door.

Youuuu like her~

Eddie's face dropped immediately hearing Venom speak to him.

"I thought we went through this already," he whispered before following after his friend, his response was only a deep cackle from the mischievous Symbiote.

(Y/n) peeped over the low wall to get a look at the scene below, there were two police officers, one standing in the alleyway, guarding the fire escape while the other loitered about the entrance, making sure no one could get in or out. The woman then edged her way to the wall that showed her the street and had a good look at where the cops were. She needed an idea that she could potentially use as an escape if something went wrong but a part of her had full trust in Eddie and Venom to keep her safe. Eddie appeared beside her, munching on some chocolate. The woman raised an eyebrow at him and the reporter scoffed, not impressed by the look he was given before he peered over the edge and again she heard him make a noise.

"What?"

"Peter Mulligan, you see him, in that car across the street? I had to work with him a while back. So miserable,"

"Is he someone I should be worried about?"

"He's more of mine and Venom's problem,"

"How so?"

"We worked with him not long ago. We were both wrapped up in the whole Cletus Cassidy thing," Eddie noticed her eyes light up in recognition after hearing the name.

"I remember him, you were involved with that?"

"Uhh, a bit yeah," his response was very unconvincing and the woman gave him a suspicious look however she didn't question him further, there were more pressing matters to deal with right now and she couldn't afford to get distracted.

"Do you think he'll actually show up again?" the woman said as she leaned her head on the cold wall, her cheek squishing up against the brick as she stared at Eddie. He looked back at her, somewhat startled to see that her gaze was already on him.

"Well I assume the reason he put that sticker there was to remind him which building to go to. Why else would he put it there?" The (Y/h/c) lifted her head, and observed him thoughtfully.

"That is a very plausible theory, so we just have to sit here. In the cold until he gets here,"

"I thought that was your plan," (Y/n) stared at him with an unimpressed look.

"I'm starting to regret my decision," she mused aloud. Eddie shifted his position to gain more comfort, he had an idea of what they could do to keep warm but he was a bit embarrassed to ask.

Your heart rate has gone up, are you okay?

The brunette's eyes widened, he couldn't answer Venom out loud with (Y/n) right in front of him. That would be awkward.

Are you ignoring me? Is this because of earlier?

Again, it was ignored and of course, it didn't sit well with the Symbiote.

Eddie! Why won't you answer me!

Through Eddie's brown eyes the Symbiote noticed (Y/n) shiver and suddenly its host's heartbeat spiked for a second time. It wasn't long before it began to catch on to what was going. It laughed mischievously.

Oh~ I think I get what's going on. Go on, just ask her.

Eddie really hated the parasite sometimes, but he also appreciated it. His life would never be the same without it of course and he knew it needed him a lot more than anyone could imagine. They both realised this during the predicament with Carnage and they had bonded more ever since, but Eddie still couldn't get used to it's cheeky remarks.

"I may.. Have an idea on how we can keep warm," the man spoke up, gaining the woman's attention. She gave him an expectant look, waiting for his proposition. She turned her body completely toward him, one leg tucked under her bottom while the other was propped up, her arms wrapped around it tightly. He noticed her shiver again and her breath was visible in the cold night air. "Look, just come here," he motioned her closer. She was hesitant at first but she got an idea of what he was implying. Shivering once again, she decided she didn't care and scooted closer. Their backs leaned against the wall as Eddie wrapped his arm over (Y/n)'s shoulder while she wrapped hers behind his back under his opened leather jacket. She then proceeded to rest her on his shoulder. Honestly, she found this hug a little more awkward than the other but she gained some warmth which is what all that mattered.

Awww, look at the two of you. Getting all cosy~

The grin in it's voice made it almost impossible to not respond but Eddie bit his tongue and tried to focus on something else. It was then that (Y/n) decided to speak up again.

"So, could you tell me how you and Venom met?"

Oooo she wants to know about us~

Eddie merely rolled his eyes in frustration before beginning the story.

4:13 am

A gentle chilling wind kissed at (Y/n)'s cheeks, making the girl shiver in her sleep. Her body shook so hard it awoke her and she opened her eyes to the roof floor. She carefully moved her head to look at Eddie, who was snoring away. The (Y/h/c) stared at him, admiring his face but then couldn't help but grin, his sleeping face was funny. She gently untangled herself from his clutches, careful not to wake him. She stumbled to stand up. Leaning against the wall was probably a bad idea since she was now suffering with a stiff back and a numb bottom. Placing her hands on the back of her hips, she leaned back and a satisfying crack and sense of relief washed down her spine. She hummed quietly with a little smile on her face but when she heard a scuffling noise nearby, it quickly dropped and she turned in the direction of the sound.

She jogged to the wall that looked down into the alleyway and her eyes widened upon seeing one of the police officers being attacked by a man dressed in black. The cop hadn't even made a noise, meaning he was taken by surprise and it seemed the other officer hadn't been alerted either. (Y/n) quickly scrambled her way back to Eddie, falling in front of him which scared him awake. Before he could make a sound, the young woman placed a hand over his mouth, the stubble prickling her skin. She put a finger to her lips, her eyes telling him to be silent.

"You were right, he's back," she whispered as she dropped her hand and motioned him to follow her to the wall. The two peered over to see the killer take out the other cop after luring him in the alley before also hiding his body in the darkness. The duo then watched as he began finding a way to the window, pulling the ladder of the fire escape down and climbing up it before taking the stairs to the window where he attempted to make his second kill. Seeing this, (Y/n) didn't waste time in searching for a way over. Fortunately, she wouldn't have to jump since this alley had a back wall. A bit lower down but it meant she could get across and so she quickly ran over and swung one leg over when she heard Eddie harshly whisper out her name to get her attention.

"(Y/n)! What are you doing?" she looked back at him and gave him a look as if to say, 'isn't it obvious?'. Eddie seemed to catch on and proceeded to protest. "You are not going down there! Are you listening to me?! (Y/n), it's dangerous!," Despite his demands, she continued making her way over to the other building.

"Just be here when I come out or be ready if something goes wrong. The other police haven't clocked on,"

"Then we tell them,"

"No! That's a stupid idea,"

"It'll be anonymous,"

"No!" (Y/n) insisted as she made her way down the fire escape, the perp was already in the apartment, she couldn't afford to waste anymore time and the police weren't coming anytime soon and by the time they did, those people could be dead.

"You're gonna get yourself killed," Eddie called to her as she was making it down the last set of stairs.

"That's a risk I'm willing to take if it means saving this family!" Eddie couldn't say anything at that because she had pushed the tarpaulin that covered the broken window aside and took a step into the dark living room. If he spoke again, he would have to yell and yelling could alert the killer and he had to helplessly watch her figure disappear behind the tarpaulin as it moved back in place.

(Y/n)'s eyes struggled to adjust to the darkness as she brought her other foot in. She tried to remain as calm as possible but it seemed her breathing was getting louder and louder by the second. She covered her mouth when she heard movement down the hall at the opposite end of the room, she almost jumped out of her skin. All those horror movies were now real and it was much much more terrifying. She continued onward though, quickly making her way over to the hall. There were two doorways in the hall, both had been opened. She pressed her back to the left hand wall to peer into the room on the right but there was nothing no one there. It was when she heard muttering coming from the room next to her did she know where the creep was. She shakily peered into the room to find a figure standing over a bed where it looked like two children and a mother was sleeping. (Y/n)'s face visibly morphed into a look of dread and she felt her heart rate accelerate. He hadn't harmed them yet, but he was going to. He was muttering some more, something she still couldn't make out but then she saw his hand move to his jacket where unsheathed a knife. The moonlight reflected off of it and (Y/n) could tell how sharp it was. This was it. She needed to stop him or he was going to kill again. She checked her mask just to make sure it was covering her face before gathering her courage. She looked again and saw him about to strike, that was all it took before the adrenaline kicked in and she stampeded into the room, using all of her strength to shove the man into a chest of drawers. The abrupt noise of objects clattering and shattering easily awoke the sleeping occupants and the mother immediately screamed in fear upon seeing two intruders in her house, holding her children close.

The young woman never took her eyes off the man as he grunted in pain and struggled to get up, completely stunned by the sudden attack. It wasn't long before he was up again and (Y/n) literally felt the anger radiating off of him, his body shaking. But it didn't matter, she had his attention and she was an obstacle stopping him from his goal. She watched his grip on the knife tighten, his training on her, it was just a matter of who would strike first.

'Use your surroundings as a weapon,' the woman repeated in her head. She used her peripheral vision to scope out anything but all she had was a pillow. It was better than nothing.

The man suddenly let out a fierce yell, running straight for (Y/n), arm lifted above his head. (Y/e/c)'s widened in surprise but she was quick to snatch the pillow up and instead of the knife stabbing into her it was the pillow. She grabbed his knife wielding wrist to stop so he could no longer swing the blade around. She pushed forward, backing him away from the crying mother and children, pinning him against the wall. She managed to knock the knife out of his hands but now it was her turn to feel overpowered when she received a fist to the right side of her face. It made her fall to the ground and the man took this opportunity to try and go for one of the kids. The mother cried out again, holding the child close.

"Come here," the man grunted as he reached a gloved hand toward the boy but he was suddenly on the ground. (Y/n) had grabbed onto his foot, tripping him. She scrambled on top of him, holding his hands down. She made eye contact with the mother.

"Go. Get out!" the older woman snapped out of her shock state when she heard the other woman's voice. "I won't let him touch them but I need you to go!" (Y/n) cried out when she began to struggle, panic evident in her tone but thankfully, the woman did as she said, dragging her children off the bed and out the room.

"No!" the man screamed out, he actually sounded upset. Upset that he couldn't get his hands on those kids. It took no effort for the man to shake off the woman who didn't waste time getting up from the floor. She stood in the doorway and watched wide eyed as the killer got up, glaring at her. He was about to approach her when he noticed his blade laying nearby. He smiled under his mask before making his way over to it. That was dumb. She should've kicked it away or not put herself in the position she was in. She didn't hesitate to run back down the hall, she knew he was on her tail. Thinking quickly, she threw the TV down in front of him, briefly slowing the killer down as she grabbed a nearby glass and threw that at him also. That was a pointless move because she completely missed and she visibly showed dread, making him laugh as he slashed the knife at her. She used her arms to block the attack and she cried out in pain before she lunged for him again. The two fell back, the killer tripping over the coffee table and as he fell (Y/n) ended up flying forward into a couch and knocking over a lamp and CD tower.

"SF PD, don't move!" a new voice interrupted the fight. Sitting up, (Y/n) recognised Peter Mulligan who was now holding and aiming a gun at the two of them. Switching from left to right, he maintained a watchful eye on them. (Y/n) didn't hesitate to put her hands up to show she was not a threat. "You! Drop the knife and slowly come toward me and you, don't even think about moving," Mulligan instructed the killer who willingly did as he was told. (Y/n) eyed the killer as he complied and it didn't sit right with her at all. "Okay, now turn around, hands on your head," Again, the killer did what Mulligan said but (Y/n) felt a harrowing trepidation whirling up inside her.

Right as Mulligan was putting his weapon away to handcuff the guy, (Y/n) noticed the glass shine in the moonlight as the killer swiftly spun round and embedded the sharp shard of glass into Mulligan's left leg. She thought that would be it, that he would leave it there but he proceeded to drag it across the cops flesh. Mulligan screamed in pain, dropping the cuffs and bringing his hands to the wound to protect it. The killer stood up, his posture showing triumph. The glass shard was still in his hand, dripping with Mulligan's blood. The cop and the woman watched as the man lifted his mask to reveal only the bottom half of his face. (Y/n) saw that he had a clean shaven face with a strong jawline, which she didn't expect but she expected a grin to be plastering his lips and it wasn't a pleasant one. The two watched as he ran the flat side of the shard against his tongue, turning it from pink to red. He closed his mouth and swallowed before humming and licking the other side clean too.

"Hmmm, not bad but my night would've been so much better… if I had gotten to taste their blood though…," he said, still grinning, It made (Y/n)'s blood run cold. The killer then rolled down his mask, discarding the glass before picking up his knife and making his way to the window.

"Ugh… wait. Don't you move!" Mulligan tried to stop him but obviously the guy wasn't going to listen however he briefly turned back to look at (Y/n).

"We better run (Y/n), the cops are on their way," and with that he was gone. Her eyes widened in disturbance. He knew it was her? And he had made sure to make it seem like she was with him too! 'That fucking bastard!' Her head then moved to look at Mulligan who was already staring at her in disbelief.

"I need back up at the Summerville household now- Hey! Come back here!" as he was calling for help, (Y/n) decided that was her time to make a run for it. She leapt over the couch and ran to the window and ran up the steps, missing two at a time.

"We've got to!" She called out, out of breath and once she was at the top, she was soon in the arms of a big black creature who had scooped her up after leaping from it's side of the building.

You're an idiot. I hope you know that!

"I saved the kids though," the (Y/h/c) smiled weakly, making it frown down at her in slight confusion.

You're almost as bad as Eddie. Let's get you home.

The black mass complained before running over the roofs of San Francisco in the direction of Eddie's apartment.
