Chapter 3 - UA University
"Wow! This is your baby making station?! It's beautiful!" Mei exclaimed. She zoomed all around the hardware section before she zoomed to the stairs and inspected the software section. Izuku let her run wild, not worried in the slightest.
Mei slid down the Fireman's pole and grabbed a hold of Izuku, unknowingly pressing her abundant chest onto him. "This place is amazing, Izukun! Can I move in? Please, please, please!"
Izuku thought about it for a moment, thinking about the woman he's already made a profile on as they spoke on the drive here. Her parents were killed by a villain when she was thirteen, and she didn't waste time finishing her schooling and graduated earlier than Izuku did. She didn't go to college, instead choosing to focus on inventing.
Her aunt was listed as her guardian, but she rarely visited, so Mei was mostly isolated. Now that she's an adult, her aunt stopped sending money for bills and such. While Mei had good chunk of money from helping different support companies fix blueprints, she had no idea how to pay bills.
"Sure. We could easily add a wall at the top floor and give you a separate room." Izuku replied.
She shouted in excitement and gave him a tight hug. "Awesome! Think of all the cute babies we'll make together, Izukun!"
"Before that, I'd like to introduce you to someone. Say hi, Athena."
"Good afternoon, Hatsume-sama." Athena's calm voice sounded from the speakers.
Mei looked around in confusion, then in wonder as she turned back to Izuku. "You made an AI!"
"Yup. Athena is my companion. We recently finished building another AI to focus on other things, but you can have them as your companion."
Mei once again bounded into Izuku's arms, this time she planted a deep kiss on his lips. Izuku, naturally returned the kiss, and simply raised an eyebrow when it was finished. "That was my first kiss. I had to give you something for the nice gift you just gave me."
"Well, in that case, you're welcome. Now come, Athena is keeping the other AI dormant for now, so that you can customize them to your specifications." Izuku walked to the large monitor that was installed.
"When you finish, I'll drive you to your old home so you can pack, and I'll come by tomorrow with a moving truck."
He was rewarded with another kiss.
Ever since his quirk manifested, he was told he was the best. He was the constant recipient of praise and favor. The teachers always encouraged him to make sure those with a useless quirk, or those without, knew that he was the best.
That all changed when police surrounded the his middle school and sent the kids to the auditorium so that they could arrest the teachers and pull some students. Even he was pulled and told the he was in trouble for illegal quirk use.
This confused and angered him. Why would he get in trouble for that? They were just extras. Who cares if they took a little beating
His parents even kept comparing him to a villain. He was too shocked and somewhat afraid to refute what they were saying because it was the first time he'd ever heard his tou-san shout, and it still made him flinch years later. Though his kaa-san kept looking at his tou-san weirdly after that and kept licking her lips at him.
Then All Might's win against some big-nosed, steroid-using fucker was all over the news.
The subsequent interview was eye opening to say the least.
A cult school.
A fucking cult school.
Bakugou Katsuki had been attending a cult school his entire life. The fucking bastards! He knew his teachers were ass-kissers, but he thought they all sucked up to him because they knew he was gonna be the best one day. Not because they wanted him to play second fiddle to their shitty cult leader. 'They never thought I could be the best. They wanted me as Number 2 to that dick-nosed fuck!'
"Damn it!" He growled, restraining himself to small pops instead of the roaring blasts he wants to let out. His parents could afford to replace anything he burnt, but he'd rather they didn't have another excuse to look disappointed at him.
So what he hurt the fucking Deku? The bastard didn't know his place was under Katsuki's heel. Arrogant prick, laughing behind his back. So what if he hurt him? The little shit kept going on about being a Hero. If he was serious, he should be able to take at least this much.
Katsuki scoffs. Of course Deku wasn't serious. He just said that to look down on him. Saying he didn't need a Quirk to do what Katsuki could.
Couldn't take the heat so he whined until they shut down the fucking school. How pathetic.
He could admit that the harsh punch that Inko-oba-san delivered to his face hurt a lot in more ways than one. He wanted to confront the useless fucking Deku and she broke his nose for his trouble.
Katsuki takes a deep breath. Deku doesn't matter. Once he gets into UA, he'll never see the bastard again. After all, those cult bastards were right about one thing.
Bakugou Katsuki was going to be the Best.
-
The entrance exam took its damn time getting here. Online school was even more boring than listening to his ass-kissing teachers at Aldera. At least those weren't trying to get him to join some damn cult run by an old man pissed that his dad died a failure trying to overthrow the government. The years of stupid therapy trying to "fix" him did gymnastics on his last nerve.
Katsuki rubs a thumb over his palm. Feels like he's built up enough sweat that he'll be able to fight, despite the February chill. He's bundled more than he frankly needs. He runs hot, just like his dad. But the extra clothing helps ready his Quirk.
He walks past the extras crowding the UA entrance. 'I know it's a general exam, but can't UA screen better? Come on, these extras have no chance.'
Too nervous, she'll freeze up in combat. Too rigid, he'll start out strong but collapse when something unexpected happens. That guy doesn't even look like he wants to be here. He'll throw his fight. Katsuki rolls his eyes. He didn't expect any decent competition. He's going to be the Best, after all. A flash of green ahead catches his eye.
'Holy shit, is that Deku?'
He barely recognizes him at first. Deku always used to cower, hunch over. Make himself as small as he should be. Now he's standing tall, making confident strides towards the UA entrance like he's done it hundreds of times, a duffel bag slung over one shoulder. The damn nerd put on some muscle. Katsuki can tell even with his winter clothing. Took the bastard long enough. Not like it'll help. His hair long and straight now, like Inko-oba-san, and in a ponytail.
"Move aside, Deku!" He calls ahead. "Get out of my way or-"
"Or you'll kill me, right?" The tone sends a chill up Katsuki's spine. Deku stops moving. He turns his head so he can see Katsuki over his shoulder. Deku's eyes were always filled with warm hope, idiotic optimism, and awe. Now? Directed at Katsuki is cold apathy.
He's reminded of how Inko-oba-san looked when he last saw her. Hypocrites, the lot of them. If they cared, they'd have brought it up over a decade ago.
"We're adults now, Bakugou. My name is Midoriya Izuku, not shitty nerd, not damn bastard, and definitely not Deku. Grow up." Deku says and turns away to keep walking. Katsuki snarls.
"Don't turn your back on me, you bastard!" He tries shoving Deku out the way, only to be evaded and ignored.
He continued on, no matter how much he wanted to continue to confront shitty Deku. He was still on very thin ice, and one slip will for sure land him in prison. He was an adult now, so he will be treated as such.
Izuku shook his head at the childishness of his former tormentor. 'One would think that he'd use the second chance he received to become a better person, but instead, he seemed to remain the same.'
"That was kinda rude of him." He heard a voice behind him. Turning, how saw a short girl of a slender yet curvaceous figure, standing an inch shorter than Mei. She is fair-skinned with a perpetual blush on her cheeks. Her eyes are large and round, their irises a warm auburn brown, with rather thick upper eyelashes, two longer and more prominent ones protruding outwards on either side and fewer but more individually pronounced lower eyelashes. Shoulder-length and about the same color as her eyes, her hair is bobbed and curved inwards at the ends, two longer clumps taking the same shape on either side of her face, and short bangs that reach roughly a quarter of the way down her forehead.
"Yeah, that asshole has been like that since we were kids. Just bullying everyone he saw as weak. It's really annoying. I'm Midoriya Izuku, by the way."
They both bowed then shook hands. He took notice of the top inner segment of each of her fingers. She has a small, pinkish pad that's slightly darker than the rest of her skin, somewhat resembling the toe of a cat or a dog's paw. "Y-you're Midoriya-sama?!"
Izuku looked at the shocked girl in confusion. "You know me?"
"Of course! I'm Uraraka Ochaco! My parents have been singing your praises for months now!" The now named Ochaco bounced excitedly. They began to walk to the auditorium.
"Uraraka, as in Uraraka Construction?"
"Yup! I always wanted to be a hero for the money so that my parents could live a comfortable life. Thanks to your large tip, they were not only able to give their employees large bonuses, but they were able to buy new equipment. They also had enough money to splurge for the first time in years! Thank you, Midoriya-sama." She finished with a bow.
"Your welcome, Uraraka-san. Now come on, let's get through these exams so that we can begin our journey into heroism." He gave her a smile which she returned.
The written half of the exams had been very easy for Izuku, and now they were getting ready for the second half, the practical. Unfortunately, he would have to sit right next to Katsuki for the duration of the pre-test demonstration. Still, as he ignored the jerk to his right as he said one rude thing after another, he managed to see Ochaco in the distance waving to him, while he waved back at her.
After everyone got seated, a tall slender man with very spiked long blond hair appeared on the scene. Wearing a black jacket with an upturned tall collar, leather trousers and boots, a pair of headphones with "HAGE" written on the headband and a pair of orange-tinted sunglasses, Izuku easily recognized him as Present Mic, the Voice Hero, and paid close attention as the hero began to speak.
"WELCOME TO ALL OF YOU TO MY LIVE SHOW!" Present Mic screamed out loud, causing a lot of the applicants to cover their ears or jumping in fright at the sudden shift. "NOW, NOW, NO NEED TO BE SCARED. NOW, EVERYBODY SAY HEY!"
Present Mic put his hand to his ear, as if trying to listen to the attendants, only for them to answer with silence. Izuku was too excited to respond, while most everyone else just did not care or were shocked at the hero's behavior.
"TOUGH CROWD THIS MORNING, I SEE!" Either he did not care or it simply did not bother him. "I'VE GOT SHIVERS DOWN MY SPINE TOO, LISTENERS! NOW... I AM GOING TO GIVE YOU THE LOWDOWN ON HOW THIS TEST IS GOING TO GO DOWN! ARE YOU READY?"
Again, silence was the only answer.
Present Mic chuckled. "PAY CLOSE ATTENTION, YOUNG LISTENERS! WE'LL BE TESTING YOUR METTLE BY SENDING YOU INTO A PRACTICE RUN AT OUR REPLICA CITY DISTRICT FOR SOME COMBAT TRIALS! YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CARRY THE OBJECTS YOU WERE ALLOWED ACCORDING TO THE LETTER SENT TO YOU! NOW, EVERYBODY MUST GATHER IN YOUR DESIGNATED AREAS AFTER THIS PRESENTATION, YA DIG!"
Izuku saw that there were seven different examination sites, and the examinees were randomized around. Much to his tranquility, Izuku noted that he was in Site B while Katsuki had been designated for Site A.
"They don't intend on letting friends or classmates share a testing site? It's probably set up so I don't get to kill you." Katsuki muttered, loud enough for Izuku to hear it. Obviously, Katsuki was not as pleased by the assignation as he was.
The screen then changed to show silhouettes of three beings – a mushroom-like thing with feet, a turtle and a carnivorous plant – that he was quite sure had been ripped out of a classic video game, all with numbers on them and surrounding the image of an urban landscape.
"WE'LL BE SPRINKLING A LARGE NUMBER OF VILLAINS ALL OVER THE BATTLEFIELD, AND THEY WILL APPEAR IN THREE DIFFERENT VARIETIES, WITH POINT VALUES SCALED ACCORDING TO DIFFICULTY!" Present Mic continued, as the monsters in the screen were killed by a figure that looked like an Italian plumber, whose points increased with each enemy he killed. "USING YOUR QUIRKS, YOU MUST DISPATCH AS MANY VILLAINS AS YOU CAN, BECAUSE YOUR GOAL, LISTENERS, IS TO RACK UP A HIGH SCORE! AND BEFORE ANYONE THINKS ABOUT IT, ATTACKING OTHER EXAMINEES OR ANY OTHER ANTI-HERO STUFF WILL BE CAUSE FOR IMMEDIATE FAILURE, GOT IT?"
Looking at the screen, and then at his pamphlet, Izuku noticed there was still a fourth enemy to be shown, but he guessed they would explain it at a later point.
"Excuse me, may I ask a question?"
Izuku looked up to see another student stand up. Tall, muscular, with a wide frame and short dark blue hair, he really stood out, and his pointed features and rectangular glasses gave him the appearance of someone who played by the rules.
"On the handout, there are four types of villains, but you have mentioned only three! Such an error would be the heights of embarrassment for a top tier academy of U.A.'s caliber, particularly since all of us here are seeking guidance on the path to become model heroes!"
'That was a speech, not a question.'
"OKAY, OKAY!" Present Mic gave a mischievous grin. "THANKS FOR THE SEGUE, AND MUCH APPRECIATED, EXAMINEE 7111! THE FOURTH TYPE OF VILLAIN YOU WILL ENCOUNTER IS NOT SO MUCH A VILLAIN, AS AN OBSTACLE!"
The screen changed again, this time to show another silhouette, this time of something that looked like a large stone block with an angry face.
"IN THE GAME WHERE THE MODEL VILLAINS CAME FROM, THERE WERE THESE THINGS THAT TRIED TO CRUSH YOU, WHICH YOU COULDN'T KILL! WELL, IN HERE, THE FOURTH VILLAIN IS LIKE THAT, AND ITS GIMMICK IS THAT IT WILL START TO RAMPAGE WHEN A CROWD FORMS NEAR IT! IT IS NOT DIFFICULT TO DEFEAT, BUT IT IS INADVISABLE TO FIGHT IT, BECAUSE THE PENALTY FOR DOING SO IS TO LOSE ALL YOUR POINTS, SO YOU'D BETTER AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!"
Izuku made a mental note not to get anywhere close to that villain, because now it added another layer of problems in the exam.
"WELL, THAT'S ENOUGH FROM ME! I'LL LEAVE YOU ALL TO GO TO THE PRACTICAL EXAM! AS NAPOLEON BONAPARTE SAID, A TRUE HERO NEVER STOPS OVERCOMING THE MISFORTUNES IN LIFE!" He grinned at them, and dipped his sunglasses down to leer at them. "SO, LET'S MOVE ON TO THE MAIN EVEN! GOOD LUCK SUFFERING! GO BEYOND, PLUS ULTRA!"
Well, the exam had suddenly become a lot more difficult now.
Several minutes later, Izuku was in the designated Site B along with the other examinees, standing in front of a huge set of gates and the fences that covered what he presumed was the urban setting of buildings and streets. To pass the time, Izuku observed the other participants to find all of them were carrying equipment to compliment their Quirks in some way.
He noticed that Ochaco had been assigned to the same site as he was, and she seemed to be anxious and sweating, so he started to walk towards her, to assure her that she would do fine.
"BEGIN!" Present Mic suddenly shouted, and the gate to the testing site opened, showing an urban landscape with villain bots prowling the streets.
All thoughts of aiding his new acquaintance flew out the window as he zoomed pass the other hero hopefuls.
He already destroyed two robots with shadow weapons before the others snapped out of their confusion and stormed the streets.
"Sooo? What do ya think of the examinees this year?" Nemuri asked as she slipped an arm around Aizawa's shoulders, startling him out of his thoughts.
"I don't know, the exam is only just starting." Aizawa replied as his best friend's voice filtered across the speakers.
"BEGIN!"
He noted that only one examinee in Battle Center B bothered to move. It was a young man with long green hair, a hoodie and a trench coat. He also held… "Did he get that approved?" Aizawa pointed to the sword that the kid wielded.
"Hm?" Nezu looked up at the screen. "Oh, Examinee 2234, Midoriya Izuku. His quirk is Shadow Control, so he made that blade with his quirk. He also sent in the request for a few items a couple of months ago. I saw no problem with it, so I agreed."
"Items?" Cementoss asked, watching as the kid tore through a three pointer brutally.
'Damn, he actually knows how to wield that.' Aizawa thought in disbelief.
"Yes, though he only asked for two things." Nezu grinned. Midoriya shoved another examinee out of the way as he blocked an attack that would've seriously injured the other kid. "A first-aid kit." Nezu continued as the kid had another him just step out of his shadow and help another examinee who'd gotten a rather nasty cut on his arm. He wrapped the wound with the kind of fast diligence that only came from field experience. And a lot of it. "And a cell phone."
"A cell phone?!" Snipe asked, incredulously. Nedzu nodded. 'He has a license to carry, so why isn't he carrying.'
"I'm quite interested to see what he's planning, to be honest." Nedzu stated.
"What're his points at so far?" Midnight asked.
"67." Cementoss stated. "He's doing a fantastic job, and those clones of his rescuing the other examinees, he's racking up quite the amount of rescue points."
"I'm somewhat worried to see an examinee with that much medical experience." Thirteen admitted. "It's unnerving to watch him act like the buildings blowing up around him is normal. Did you notice?"
"I did." Aizawa nodded. Something was off about this kid. Did he survive a villain attack or something? No, that would make sense if the loud sounds were inducing more traumatic reactions… he seemed almost like a soldier, used to chaos and havoc around him. Even pros wouldn't be quite that calm, though Aizawa imagined that it was possible that the kid just felt safer knowing it was an exam.
"Let's see how everyone reacts to this, then." Nezu let out a feral grin as he pressed the Big Red Button to release the Zero Pointers.
He expected the kid to freeze. To run like everyone else (no matter how disappointed Aizawa and the other teachers were when everyone ran). But to their shock, he got up and ran towards the massive killer robot without a hint of hesitation. Almost like he was waiting for it.
"Look… there's a girl trapped under the rubble." Cementoss pointed out, and Midnight radioed Hizashi to make sure that the hero was on standby, ready to rescue her if need be.
"What's that Midoriya doing?" Thirteen asked, watching as he jumped on top of an active One Pointer. He then pried off the panel on the back of the robot and pulled out his phone. He messed around with something the camera couldn't see before the smaller robot stopped moving. He smirked, and started typing in haste.
A moment later, every robot in Battle Center B shut down, including the Zero Pointer.
The room was silent, the sound of someone dropping their pen sounded like a grenade. "D-did something happen? Was that a glitch?" Midnight stuttered.
"I don't believe it…" Nedzu's eyes were wide and gleaming with excitement. "He hacked the robots! He broke the exam! With a cell phone!" He started laughing maniacally.
"Y-you don't seriously mean…" Vlad King looked pale as he realized that Nedzu was interested and excited by this kid.
"No way…" Toshinori's eyes were wide as he choked on his own saliva. "That can't be the same boy…?"
"You know him, Toshinori?" Aizawa's eyes narrowed.
"No, I met him once. I remember him vaguely… he was Quirkless." His words sent the room into murmurs.
"Ah, yes. I read his extensive file. It was him who got the ball rolling in obliterating the MLA. He was quirkless, yes, but he apparently developed his quirk after extreme duress. I looked closer and found he tried to jump off a building only for his quirk to manifest at the last second, saving him." Nedzu explained seriously once he got laugh under control.
With everyone paying attention to both Nedzu and Midoriya, no one saw All Might's harsh flinch and pale visage.
"How did he lead to the destruction of the MLA?" Cementoss asked.
"Apparently his near death gave him a completely new perspective on life. He went directly to the police and detailed the abuse he faced at Aldera for being quirkless. The good detective contacted Yagi, who contacted me so that I can acquire more evidence. Through some digging I found the strings MLA had that were controlling the Aldera district."
"Incredible." Midnight spoke, uncharacteristically serious. "It took one tormented child speaking up to take down an insurrectionist cult."
"He's a once in a lifetime genius who already has a plethora of degrees under his belt, so he's one to look out for in the future. Mark my words, he'll be one of the Greatest." Nedzu vowed as he watched Midoriya apply first aid on Uraraka's ankle.
Izuku sighed as he wiped his forehead. He reached down and picked up the hurt Ochaco in a princess carry, getting a sputter from her as her brain caught up to his actions.
"W-w-what are you doing?!" She asked with a massive blush.
Izuku tilted his head. "You can't walk on that ankle despite my first aid, so I'll carry you. Don't worry you're not heavy or anything." He gave her a charming smile, hiding his amusement at her red face. 'Seems like I still got it.'
The surrounding students made comments, but he ignored them. Uraraka gave up on trying to get him to drop her and just went along with it, though she wasn't looking at anyone and had both hands on her cheeks.
"Is she alright, young Doctor?" Asked a familiar voice that made him turn with a more genuine smile.
He leaned down still holding Uraraka. "She hurt or broke her ankle, sensei."
"I-I don't think it's-" Stammered Uraraka.
"Not to worry, young lady." Recovery Girl said while giving her a small kiss on the head.
Uraraka was about to start getting embarrassed again but the pain in her ankle disappeared and she was put back on her feet by Izuku.
"They you go, have a gummy." Recovery Girl smiled and handed her a gummy in the shape of All Might that Uraraka reluctantly took then ate, instantly feeling a bit of energy returning to her. "And how about you, any injuries I should know about?" She asked Izuku with an eye roll.
Izuku gave another small smile. "I'm good."
"Good, then I'll go on." With that Recovery Girl went through all the groups offering aid where needed.
Izuku turned back to Uraraka. "So, how do you think you did?" He said while gesturing to the arena.
"Well I think I had a good amount of points before I got stuck." She mumbled nervously. "You?"
"Oh, I stopped counting after sixty." He didn't truly make an effort, because he planned on hacking the bots from the start. He could've easily had Athena remotely hack the bots, but he didn't want to get too lazy.
"Sixty!" She said shocked. "I think I had close to forty! Hope you have the top score, or I might not get in."
"I'm sure you're fine, I heard a few people saying they were doing good with ten and twelve points. I think over twenty-five is a pass, not sure obviously." Izuku said managing to calm her down a bit.
"Yeah, you're right." She said with a small smile. "So do you live near here or did you travel for the test?"
"I live in town, just had to take a train ride. You?"
"I'm from Mie Prefecture, got a hotel for the test."
"Oh? How long have you been in town?"
She shrugged her shoulders. "I've only been here a few days."
"If you want, I can show you around if you'll be here for a while. You won't have to be alone."
She smiled at him. "That'd be awesome, it was super boring by myself! We need to exchange information! Uh, you have like 20 messages from a Mei on here." Uraraka said when she got his phone to put her info in it.
Izuku sighed a bit, had it been an emergency, Athena would've told him. "I told her we'd meet later."
"Who's that?" She asked.
"My friend, roommate, and future business partner." Izuku replied easily.
"Oh, that's cool!" An alarm on her phone went off. "I gotta catch my train but I'll text you Midoriya!" She said as she rushed off.
Seeing as he was done with his tests, he made his way home.
Within the training area, there were six individuals that were all male and looked exactly the same. Currently, five of them were surrounding the sixth that had the addition of a black blindfold over his eyes.
On a silent que, the five launched at the one, who bent back to dodge a kick before twisting and catching a thrown punch from another of the five. The one then judo tossed the puncher into another of the five causing them to poof away in black smoke before he ducked down and mule kicked an attacker knocking him back. The one then did a handstand and twisted around swinging his legs like a helicopter spin knocking the other two away. He then leapt into the air and slammed his foot into one in a powerful axe kick that caused it to burst into black smoke before he twisted caught a kick to his head before slamming the attacker on the ground causing it to poof before the one squared off with the last. The last one circled the one slowly before jumping and doing a drop kick, which was dodged by the one when he contorted out of the way and did a spinning axe kick breaking the last and causing it to pop.
The one stood straight before turning his head towards the side as he heard enthusiastic clapping from two sources. He took off his blindfold to find Mei and Ochako standing out of the way.
"Your letters are here, Izukun!" Mei enthused as she waved two letters in the air. Ochako was trying her best not to look directly at Izuku. Seeing him shirtless and sweaty was putting some interesting thoughts in her head. She wanted to ask about all the scars on his body, but thought better of it.
"Well, give it here. I want to see my score."
To distract herself, Ochako opened her letter first. Reaching in, she blinked in confusion as he pulled out a small disk.
Before he could ask what it was, it suddenly turned on, with a projection of All Might, startling her, and making her drop the disk onto the floor.
"I AM HERE AS A PROJECTION!"
"All Might?!"
"Young Uraraka, lets go over your performance during the exam. Young Uraraka, your decision to use your quirk to take the high ground and survey your surroundings was a stroke of genius. And attacking groups that were far enough from the rest of the examines to maximize your points while also only using your quirk a minimal amount to dispatch the faux villains shows you understand the importance of thinking ahead. With such an impressive tactic, it should come as no surprise that you would get an equally impressive score of 58 Villain Points! When you saw those students too afraid to move, you didn't hesitate to throw yourself into danger to save them. Courage and cool headedness in the face of overwhelming danger, these traits are a must for heroes."
Ochako was blushing as clips of her heroics were playing while Mei hugged her in excitedly.
"How can a school for heroes not consider the actions of people who save others and do the right thing? Some may call that lip service. But you see, this is a job that requires risking one's life to put that lip service into practice! That is why we have rescue points! These points are given by a panel of judges. This quality is what we at look for at U.A. You showed this quality! Uraraka Ochako: 58 villain points and 28 rescue points for 86 points total. WELCOME, URARAKA! THIS WILL BE YOUR HERO ACADEMIA!"
"Great job, Ochan!" Mei congratulated in her usual boisterous way.
"Well done, Ochako." Izuku said with a calm smile.
Smiling brightly, Ochako responded. "Thanks guys! It's your turn, Izuku!"
"So it is." Izuku opens the letter before placing the disk down. It springs to life show All Might again. "I AM HERE AS A PROJECTION! Young Midoriya! You certainly smashed the exam out of the park! You placed first overall! That includes recommendation students! For the practical, you kept a cool head and destroyed those fake villains without a single issue! You earned 97 villain points, but that is not all! Rescue points were also a factor in the exam! Instead of going for just villain points, you took your time to help your fellow examinees keep themselves from injury, and applied first aid to those that did! Then, of course, your big finale! Never in the history of UA has someone hacked the system and shut off all the remaining robots! Let alone with just a cellphone!"
The other two looked at Izuku in shock. He just shrugged nonchalantly.
"The Zero Pointer, has not been defeated since my time at UA even if people were close. Still, you did it, then made sure Young Uraraka was safe! Congratulations, young Midoriya! You eared 70 rescue points overall! With 167 total points, you took first place in the exam and broke my old record of 115! It would have been higher, but it was decided not to count the hacked robots." All Might laughs while standing proud. "WELCOME, MIDORIYA! THIS WILL BE YOUR HERO ACADEMIA!"
Both ladies tackled Izuku in excitement. "You beat All Might's record! That's incredible, Izuku!"
"Yeah, Izukun! Why didn't tell me you were so strong?!"
"I don't brag or boast. I just accomplish my mission, then move to the next. Where's your letter, Mei?"
"Oh, I opened it while you were training." Mei replied.
"Speaking of training, I have just a month to increase both your training, then we pack and move to our dorm rooms. Tonight will be your break, but tomorrow begins your torture."
"U-um, you meant training, right?" Ochako asked hesitantly.
Izuku just smiled pleasantly, extracted himself from the ladies, and left.
"…right?"
"Ah, Aizawa, good. Come in, sit down." Nedzu invited. Aizawa walked in and plopped himself onto the indicated seat. "Now, even though it's a bit uncharacteristic of me, I'll be blunt. If you expel another student without cause, you're fired."
"They all had no potential. They were irrati-" Nedzu cut Aizawa's rant off with a single paw raised.
"They weren't the ones who was irrational. You were. You spent less than 20 minutes with them, and 3/4 of that was you waiting for them to get changed into gym uniforms. So, you spent a total of five minutes with them and automatically decided that they had no potential? Tell me, Aizawa, does that sound rational to you?" Nedzu questioned.
"The real world will not wait for them to get re-"
"Well it's a good thing that this isn't the real world, but a simple Quirk Apprehension Test. Let us not gloss over the fact you insisted they had no potential. Everyone has the potential to be a hero. From a strong quirk to a weak one. Even the quirkless. You do fight your battles quirkless, correct?"
"Yes sir." Aizawa sourly responded.
"So, for you to say they had no potential was wrong. Your own teachers said the same about you, now here you are following in their footsteps, destroying dreams and ambitions." Nedzu stated casually.
Aizawa swallowed, a deep frown on his face.
"We lost funding from two major corporations thanks to your blunder, and I'm sure you remember the vilification we faced in the media. I will reiterate the point of this meeting: if you expel another student without cause, you're fired. It was an obvious mistake giving you so much free reign, so that will stop today. You're dismissed."
Aizawa got up and left, not a word spoken.
