Hello! Did anyone think I was going to stop after Christmas? Well, I wasn't because it's still December! My favorite month because it officially means it's winter which is my favorite season! Now, this one is more lighthearted then the others but still has things to be wary of so look at the warnings I put on each chapter. This does go into my absolute favorite episode in season 2 thought! Honestly, I have no idea why either since I don't like romance novels. Action and adventure, si-fi, fantasy... really anything that isn't romance is what I'm into. Weird right? Anyway, enjoy and tell me what you think in the comments if you want!
Warnings: Talk of death and conformity.
Disclaimer: Still don't own Pokemon. Autumn's mine.
-Autumn's P.O.V,-
Someone was here. Someone I trusted and they were going. When they tried to let go of my hand, I gripped it as tight as I could to prevent them from leaving. After that, it's like everything came back slowly. Sort of like I'm waking from a panic attack, but I don't feel as broken as I do then. Still couldn't talk because of everything that I remembered from the other day… or have I been out longer than I thought? I didn't ask immediately since I was more worried about what Professor Kukui was going to do to me now that he knows, but everyone welcomed me with open arms, "Alright," The doctor said as he pulled out a saw, "This won't hurt, but it may feel weird once it comes off, alright?"
I nodded and he quickly sawed through the cast, "He doesn't need to touch you," Riolu reminded me as my breathing picked up.
"Can you form a fist for me?" He asked. I quickly did so as I calmed down, "Alright," He handed Professor Kukui a brace, "Just put that on her, then you can take her home. Well, once you've signed the release forms."
"I'll sign them while Burnet helps her get changed," Kukui answered as he gently put the brace on my arm.
Yeah, since they all slept here, Burnet hurried home to get me a change of clothes since my other ones were torn and dirty. I was waiting for the time when I could patch them up, see what I could come up with. Ash left with Professor Kukui to get the wheelchair I'll have to be using once I can sit up. For now, Kukui carried me out to the car once I was fully clothed in a simple red summer dress, the one I wore at my interview actually, "Autumn! Autumn!" As soon as we stepped outside, we were hounded by reporters.
Ash and Burnet pushed them away and quickly got all of us in the car and on the road, "I forgot they were there," Ash mumbled from the front seat.
"Why were they there?" I whisper-asked, my voice quiet from the un-use of the past few weeks (I learned how long I was out during breakfast) and because it still felt a little broken.
"They want to know what you'll do now," Burnet answered, concentrating more on the road, "And want to interview you about your last song."
I stared at them, shocked, "More and more people are finding out who you are Autumn," Kukui answered, "And they're all inspired by you."
Nothing more was said as I was trying to process what they just told me. Then we got home, "Alola Surprise!" Our classmates cried out as I came through the door.
Even Lillie was there! Although, I guess it's been two weeks. Lusamine's probably able to stay awake the entire morning before needing a break, "We decided to throw you a little surprise party once we heard the good news!" Mallow beamed.
"And this way, Ash and Professor Kukui aren't missing school!" Lille added.
"Thank you everyone," I smiled as I was set on the couch, glad that I could at least sit up if I was supported (which my Pokemon quickly helped with), "But you didn't need to do all this," I gestured to the many plates full of food, "That's a lot of food."
"Mallow wanted to cook more," Lana admitted, "But she decided to stop there."
"And," Mallow stressed, "There's no coconut milk in any of it! So, tell me how it tastes. I wanna know if the sweetener I used instead makes it taste just as good."
"Does that mean we're able to eat now?" Sophocles asked.
Mallow nodded, "But Autumn gets food first," Sophocles deflated a bit, but perked up once he realized Kiawe was already giving me a plate with a little bit of everything on it.
The party turned into a lesson which I definitely fell asleep during. I woke up to the snap of a picture, "This looks great!" I heard Ash say as I slowly started to wake up, "Thanks Rotom and Roxy!"
"Our pleasure!" They both answered proudly.
"How often does this happen?" Lillie asked.
"Whenever she's sick or tired enough," Ash answered, "Although, Riolu's usually the victim."
I only do it when I'm sick or really tired? It clicked as soon as my eyes opened. I was cuddling Kiawe, "Sorry," I told him, slowly moving away, "I didn't mean to trap you."
"It's alright," Kiawe tried to play it cool, but didn't really succeed, "Mimo does it all the time."
That's when I winced in pain, "Here," Kukui already had my medicine ready for me, "It'll make you sleepy, but the pain will be gone."
I ate it anyway, "I'm tired of sleeping," I mumbled, "I've been doing it for two weeks!"
"You know this is different," Ash answered, "Besides, we're here to keep you company!"
"Who's ready to watch the movie Ash starred in?" I asked, smiling brightly.
"Ash starred in a movie?!" Sophocles asked, surprised.
"I wanna watch it!" Lana raised her hand.
"This is going to be interesting," Mallow nodded.
"I have a copy in my room," I turned to Kiawe, "Would you go get it for me?"
"Sure, where is it?" He stood up and soon we were all watching the movie.
"Wait," Lillie leaned forward a bit, "Is that Team Rocket?"
"Yeah," Ash smiled, "They came in when we were filming and just went with it. I can't remember the original ending, but we all liked this one better."
"You could have a great career as an actor," Mallow complimented, "This is amazing!"
Ash turned slightly red, "Thanks."
Sadly, the others had to leave soon after so we were alone at home again, "Can I just stay on the couch?" I asked before they moved me to my bed, "That way I can know what's going on!"
"We'll let you stay out here," Kukui answered, "But I think you would sleep better on your bed. So, we'll move you into your room at night, then you can stay out here during the day."
"Thank you!" I would have given him a hug, but he wasn't near me.
"Alola!" Burnet came in a moment later, "Who's ready for dinner?"
"I am!" Ash cheered and quickly stood up, "Can I help today?!"
"Of course!" Burnet laughed, "Just make sure to wash your hands first."
Ash beamed and quickly got up to help. I was stuck on the couch and I was already done with bed rest, "Professor Kukui?" I asked, "Do you know what happened to the rock?"
Everyone knew which one I was talking about, "It's right here," Burnet pulled it out of her pocket and handed it to me, "I was going to give it to you earlier, but I forgot I had it with me."
"Thank you," I gently held it in my hand.
"What is it anyway?"
"Winter," I answered, "UB-01 Symbiont or Nihilego as they call themselves, I met in that other world. She got to know me and even helped me look for Lusamine. She was so curious about me that we kept on asking questions back and forth to get to know each other more. Apparently they don't like differences and don't even have names. It's how I learned about their merging and why I knew what it was like. Although she was an outcast because she thought differently," I frowned, "She ended up sacrificing herself so I could help Lusamine. This is what she became."
"So, the rocks you all say you saw," Kukui answered as he sat next to me, helping me stay sitting up, "Were dead UB-01 Symbiont's?"
I nodded, "It's also what they feed off of. Energy from living things or things that are dead."
"Was that Ultra Beast feeding off of Lusamine?" Burnet asked and I nodded.
"Burnet," Ash asked, "Am I doing this right?"
The next three days were the longest of my life, but I was actually able to work on some things. Now, the heart rock had a gold outline on it with a small ring on the top of it which I threaded the ribbon through and wore it as a necklace. Then I learned that I wasn't able to go to school until they checked how my wrist was healing next week, "Can't I just go for half a day?" I asked, pleading. I was done with being stuck at home.
"Sorry, but the doctor's orders are that you should be taking it easy," Kukui answered, "And they specifically said no school."
"Can I at least go outside today?"
"You can always go outside, you just need someone to help you down the stairs!" Ash smiled, then left the house.
"Don't worry," Kukui assured me, "We'll take you down to the beach today after school."
"Yes!" I cheered, sitting up straighter in my wheelchair, "Also, I should be done with your order today… if I can find everything I need," And if my new song idea doesn't stay in my head after I write it down.
"Take your time," He smiled, "I'm not going to use it quite yet," Then he was gone and I was left at home, alone.
"Alright Riolu," I asked her once the dishes were put away, well, as many as I could anyway, "Could you get my laptop for me?" I spent the rest of the day working on a new song that was in my head, but I was able to finish Kukui's order before I got too far.
When the day came that I was going to the doctors office, it was clear that they didn't know me, "We don't know how," The doctor told us once he was done doing tests, "But her wrist is completely healed. Her leg still needs a day or two without any pressure on it, but other than that, she's healthy. If a bit underweight."
Burnet nodded, "Alright. Will we have to come back in?"
"No," He shook his head, "But I've never seen such a fast recovery before," He smiled and turned to me, "Just try not to get hurt again anytime soon, alright?"
"I'll try, but with a brother like Ash, it's going to be hard," I smiled, knowing this would be happening.
"Why don't we go tell Kukui and Ash the great news?" Burnet suggested as she wheeled me out of the hospital without a brace on my wrist.
"Let's go!" I beamed. Sadly, since the appointment was scheduled during school, Burnet was the only one able to come with me.
Neither of them were too surprised, "I knew you would beat the odds," Ash smiled, "They didn't know how fast you heal!"
I rolled my eyes, "Come on Ash, I still have a few days left to go before I'm fully healed."
"Yeah," He nodded, "But you get to start walking tomorrow! And you finally get to come back to school!"
"How am I supposed to get to the classroom anyway?" I asked, "The only way to get there is by stairs."
"Actually," Kukui answered, "We have a ramp at the back of the school you can use. It's there in case anyone needs to use it instead of the stairs, but no one even knows about it."
The next day, everyone was shocked to see me in class, "You're back!" They cried out at the same time, crowding around me.
I smiled, "Yep! I'm not stuck at home anymore!"
"Does that mean you can wander around town?" Mallow asked.
"Not yet," Ash answered, "We're waiting until she can walk for that."
"I do get to go to our hang out house though!" I beamed. We all sort of adopted the house into our 'hang out house' and use it for 'secret meetings' or just when we need to get away from the world.
Lillie smiled, "Don't worry, we've kept it clean for you."
"Although, what are the dresses on the mannequins for?" Lana asked.
"Nothing!" I yelped, hoping they didn't realize who they were for yet, "Just something I'm working on!"
"So, what do you do all day when you're stuck at home?" Sophocles asked.
"I actually wrote a new song," I admitted, "It's not ready for others to listen to it though. I didn't realize how broken my phone was."
My phone was still getting repaired (I was just glad I saved everything on my computer before all that happened) and I was seriously considering getting a new one, but Roxy was against that idea, "I don't want a new case! I liked my old one!" She pouted, so I asked them to do everything they could to fix it.
"How're you guys doing?" I asked.
We went around telling everyone what was new until Professor Kukui showed up and started class. Then the others found out about the ramp and Ash got a crazy idea, "What if she crashes?" Kiawe asked, "I don't want her getting hurt again."
"She'll be fine," Ash beamed then gave me the final push.
I screamed the entire way down, gripping Riolu and the wheelchair with all my strength. Although a little less than half-way down, my screaming turned from terrified to happy. I slid to a stop at the end as everyone else ran after me, "That was amazing!" I beamed, "A little scary, but super fun as well!"
"How did you control where you were going?" Sophocles asked.
"I didn't."
"We were at the mercy of the ramp," Riolu added, still terrified.
I smiled and slowly calmed her down, "I guess it is kind of like a slide," Lillie admitted, "You're just on wheels.
"How fast were you going?" Lana asked.
"I have no idea," I admitted, then I was dragged home so I could start on homework and practice walking again.
A week later, I was walking like normal and it seemed like nothing had happened to me ever. The only way you could tell is because of a scar that was now on my leg from the worst of my cuts, "Autumn, Ash, would you mind doing the dishes tonight?" Kukui asked.
I beamed, "Of course!" Then I dragged Ash towards the sink, "Let's do this!"
"Alright!" Ash was the one washing and we formed a chain with all our Pokemon helping put them away.
The professors came back from their walk just as I was tending to Rowlet, who fell again, "Hopefully he doesn't wake up," I mumbled as I sprayed a healing potion on him.
He definitely woke up, "Hey, Professors," Ash greeted, "Rowlet fell again."
"We want to talk to you two about something," Professor Kukui told us.
"Talk to us?"
"About what?" I asked.
"We wanted you to be the first ones to hear," Burnet smiled, "Here we go, Pikachu, Litten, Rotom, Roxy, Lycanroc, Munchlax, Rowlet, Riolu and Oricorio, too…"
"You're getting married?!" Rotom freaked out as soon as they told us, "The chances of you two getting married and being happy are… calculating, calculating…"
The Professors laughed, "Rotom, it isn't possible to get an answer to that by calculating."
Rotom was at a loss for words, "Get married?" Ash asked, then exploded, "Professor! Professor!" He pulled them into a hug, "Woah! Amazing! Way to go, Professors!"
"Thanks, Ash!" Kukui smiled
"Yes, thank you," Burnet was also smiling.
"I just have one condition," I told them after everyone piled onto them, "I want to make Burnet's dress."
Burnet smiled, "Who else would I ask?"
Then I joined the hug, "I can't wait!" When we pulled out of the hug after a while, I flipped through my book, "I already have a few designs," I showed them to her, "What do you think?"
"How long have you been making designs?" Kukui asked.
"Well," I thought about it for a moment, "Ever since Burnet came to dinner that first night," I finally answered, "But nothing was actually a full design until you asked me to make a ring."
"Can we tell people?" Ash asked, "I'm sure everyone would want to come!"
"You can," Burnet answered, "But we decided that we're not going to have a ceremony. Just a small thing with you two."
Somehow, I didn't think that would actually happen and I was proven right when we told everyone and we planned their present, "Like throwing them a surprise wedding for them!" Lillie beamed.
Lana was immediately on board, "That would be some surprise!"
Surprisingly, so was Sophocles, "Great idea!"
"I'm in!" Kiawe stated.
"So, then, it's a go! Can you imagine the look on the professors' faces?" Ash asked.
I beamed, "We can start planning after school today! Although I still need to get the fabric for Burnet's dress," I mumbled, still not completely sure on what I was going to do for that.
Everyone but Ash looked at me in shock, "You're making her dress?!"
"And Kukui's suit," I nodded, quickly adding a few things to the design, "I want them to have the best day ever on their wedding day!"
Rotom sounded the alarm, "It's the Professor! Quick!"
Everyone dashed to their seats while I calmly walked to mine absent-mindedly, "Alo-Huh?" Professor Kukui could tell something was up. We were all actually in our seats! "Is something wrong?" He asked.
Ash was the first to try and cover it up, "Uh, no. We're just fine."
"Yeah," Pikachu copied Ash, "Fine."
"Uh… Ash is right," Sophocles smiled nervously, "We're good."
"We're great!" Lillie was doing the best so far, "Great."
"It's nothing," Kiawe was definitely nervous.
"Nothing," Lana whispered.
"Couldn't be better," Mallow added, not looking at the Professor.
He just looked at me, "They're fine," I answered, the only one calm, "We're just planning on hanging out after school today… Well, they are. I wanna finish these before the week is up."
"Don't push yourself too hard," Kukui told me, then started the lesson.
At lunch, I used my laptop as a tablet and drew the dress over a picture of Burnet I had, "Wow," Lillie leaned over to see it, "That looks beautiful."
Mallow and Lana quickly leaned over to see it as well, "That's what you're going to make her?" Mallow asked.
Lana smiled, "It's perfect."
I frowned, "Not quite," I saved the design and started on another one, "Hopefully this one will be perfect," I flipped to another design in my book and started drawing it.
"How is it working anyway?" Sophocles asked, "Do you think we need to change anything?"
"Did you make that?" Ash asked.
"Autumn helped," Sophocles admitted, "But it's supposed to be for her so she can create designs and see how it looks on the person she's making it for."
"It's been super helpful," I admitted, "And I can't think of anything different to do although, we may need to make it so I can put the designs on other people and make it so they fit."
"It doesn't change with the person you do?"
"No," I finally stopped once the outline was done and started to eat, "But it doesn't take much to make it fit someone else. Just more color here, erase a bit there and it's perfect for them!"
"You draw over the clothes they have on?" Kiawe asked, "How do the clothes not get in the way?"
"Sometimes they do, but it's really easy to just erase them," I smiled, "We made it so I can erase anything on the picture, but also save anything that I want by outlining it."
"I'm hoping to perfect it and sell it so other fashion designers can use it," Sophocles admitted, "So, I'm letting Autumn use it and tell me what to add or change before I put it on the market."
"There are going to be so many people getting it," I told him, "And I think it will be more than just fashion designers. They can take a picture of anything they want and add what they want into it!"
His eyes widened, "I could sell it to artists as well! I never even thought about that!"
"Do you have one for Professor Kukui as well?" Kiawe asked.
I nodded, "I'm not going to show you though since I already have his suit drawn out and planned."
Mallow pouted, "Aw! Come on! We need to coordinate the colors!"
I just smiled, "Pink, at least for the flowers and a navy blue or gray."
We couldn't plan anymore since Professor Kukui came back in, but it was obvious that everyone was excited about it. We all ended up going to the hangout house to plan, "My dad and I can do the menu," Mallow answered, "But neither of us are all that great at baking."
"What about Autumn's cake?" Ash asked, "The Professors love it!"
"Are you sure?" Lana asked.
"The last time I made it, Ash and I only got one piece each when the Professors were able to sneak the extra two pieces the next day," I answered, "Now it's a race to see who gets the extra pieces whenever I make it."
"You're already making Burnet's dress," Kiawe pointed out, "Are you sure that a cake won't be too much?"
"I'll be fine," I smiled, "So, who's going to officiate?"
"Principal Oak can do it," Sophocles suggested, "I think he's able."
"What about music?" Kiawe asked, "I don't think we should just have it playing on the radio."
"What about Dig-Dug-Leo?" Mallow suggested, "They could come and do it!"
"Does anyone know how to contact them?" Lana asked.
"They said they'll do it," I answered, putting my phone down. Roxy and Rotom were having a date before she went back to her 'case', "We just have to tell him when and where. They're really excited to come."
"You have Dig-Dug-Leo's number?" Ash asked.
I nodded, "Well, that's one thing set in stone," Mallow smiled.
We planned everything we could and planned to meet together again in a few days to see if everything would work, "We can have it on the beach," Lillie pointed out the last thing we had to plan, "Right in front of Professor Kukui's house!"
"It's perfect!" Lana beamed.
"Hopefully it doesn't rain," Sophocles added. Once we planned for rain, we all went our separate ways as I borrowed the jeep to go to the store.
