What is equality?
It is something so simple to define, but very difficult to achieve.
Equality is not a gift of human nature. Human beings, "are born equal, but they are also born different." And "by nature, all men are equal in freedom, but not in other gifts" but sometimes there are exceptions.
Some men will be above others, but that "destroys equality and creates more inequality."
The desired equality does not exist in society, as it does not exist in nature; but not all equality is good and not all inequality is bad.
All men are born equal, but this is the only time they are.
"It is not fair to treat equally what is unequal or to treat unequally what is equal." It all depends on where the limit of each of these concepts is placed, since there is no doubt that there can be an unfair equality and a fair inequality. Only the right mean liberates us, both from egalitarianism and extreme inequality.
Not all inequality is always bad. There are levels of inequality that are positive in terms of incentives for growth, for example poverty reduction.
There is some truth to the idea that in a world without inequality there would be no incentives.
These ideas prove that the possible inequality implied by the incentive policy serves to increase the benefits of the people.
People do not often work, create or strive without motivation to do so.
If we take an action, there will always be a motivation behind it. If everyone had money in their pockets, it would not be necessary to work.
If equality is a social achievement, it is evident that, as every achievement consists in achieving and achieving something that is not available, we therefore have an ethical and social duty to achieve it, in order to contribute to the general good of people and of the society.
After the boring talk from the student council president, all the new students headed to their respective classes. Obviously that included me too.
I started walking in the direction of my class, while doing so I noticed some somewhat peculiar students.
There is a tall above average young man with a tanned complexion. Apart from being tall he possessed a well-built body.
I'd like to avoid making contact with him, I feel like it could get me into trouble later.
I also noticed a short girl with lilac hair and violet eyes. She wore a black cap on her head with a gray ribbon connecting to it. But what makes her stand out from the rest is that she was using a cane to walk.
I guess she must have suffered an injury or that she was just born that way. From the way she walks she would say that she was born crippled, she seems to be quite used to walking with some difficulty.
I better stop staring at the students. I don't want to look like a weirdo.
I stopped looking at the students, and started walking towards my respective classroom.
*Thud*
"MMM"
I opened my eyes slowly, the first thing I could see was a woman wearing a suit.
She was a grown, young woman with a well endowed voluptuous body and long brown hair that is tied in a ponytail with brown eyes. She had a serious expression on her face.
She is holding a brochure and a card that all my classmates seem to already have in her hands.
I could also notice how all my classmates had their gazes fixed on me, especially my neighbor's.
"It seems like someone fell asleep during my explanation" said the woman in front of me.
"I guess so, what did I miss-uaaaah ..." I said as she yawned.
When I said that, the students who were looking at me glared at me, maybe I did something to annoy them.
I decided not to pay attention to them and fixed my gaze on the woman who was talking to me. I guess she must be the class D teacher or she that's what she created.
"* Sigh * everything that I explain is in this brochure, don't forget to read it, my name is Chabashira-Sae I will be your Japanese History teacher and the head of Class 1-D" after saying that, he handed me the brochure and the card and went to the podium inside the class.
She took a good look at the whole class, especially me. She thought I made her angry.
"It seems no one has questions. Well then, please have a good student life" said Chabashira-sensei.
After saying that she left the classroom.
I guess she should go too, I have much more important things to do than just sit here.
When I was about to get up from my seat, a boy with the air of a young man got up and walked to the podium, drawing the attention of the students.
"Everyone, can you listen to me for a moment?" Said the boy.
He was a young man of average height with blond hair and brown eyes.
"Starting today, we will be in the same class for the next three years. So it would be great if we could all introduce ourselves and become friends. We still have time, what do you think?" Said the boy.
Most of the students didn't know how to respond, but some looked excited.
"I agree! After all, we don't know our names, much less anything about us" said a student giving his approval.
After the first person agreed, the students who were doubtful voiced their support.
"Well I'll go first my name is Hirata Yousuke. Since in high school I was often called by my first name, Yousuke, feel free to use it. Although I like all sports, I like soccer in particular and also plan to play. football in this school. I remain in your care "said Hirata
He presented himself in a calm and flawless manner. It was obvious that he was going to be popular after this. All the girls who were close to him had hearts in his eyes.
What a cliché, right? There always has to be someone who stood out more than the rest.
"Well if that was satisfactory ... then can we start the introductions from the beginning?" Hirata said in a calm tone until the end, most of them nodded at his proposal.
There was a girl who was perplexed and nervous, she soon made up her mind and when she was about to stand up. I got up faster than her.
I took my bag along with the brochure Chabashira-sensei gave me and the card. I started to walk to the exit, but Hirata quickly positioned himself in front of me, she believed that this will simply cause trouble.
"You can let me pass" I told the boy in front of me.
All the students turned their attention back to me. I have to finish this quickly, I don't want to waste my time.
"What is the problem?" Hirata asked.
"What are you talking about?" I responded with another question.
"You know what I mean, you must have a reason to leave the class. If I said something that bothered you, don't worry about telling me" Hirata replied with a forced smile.
I should come up with a credible excuse, but that would be unnecessary, this guy seems smart enough to see through a lie.
"You didn't do anything that bothered me, on the contrary, I thought it was a good idea to introduce ourselves to reduce the degree of discomfort I entered the class, but I have other things to do, how could you see I was asleep during Chabashira-sensei's explanation and I need to look for her to inform me "I told him.
Obviously what I said were some truths mixed with lies, I was going to inform myself, but not with Chabashira-sensei, although it would be easier to ask my classmates or her directly
"Thank you for answering sincerely, I'm not going to force you to stay if you don't want to, but you can tell me at least you named" Hirata said changing his forced smile into a sincere one.
Valla seems that in the end if he is a good guy, but unfortunately it seems that I just earned the hatred of some students especially the girls. They have been looking at me with disgust since Chabashira-sensei reprimanded me and now that I tried to leave.
"Ayanokouji-kiyotaka called me, yes that's all I guess I'll go" Hirata stepped aside to let me pass and I left the class with the students' gazes fixed on me.
I guess the first thing I should do is go out on campus to relax a bit.
After walking for 1 hour, I reached the bedrooms that would be my home for the next three years.
After the receptionist on the first floor gave me a keycard for room 401 and an information manual, I took the elevator. As I was flipping through the manual, I saw the time and day to take out the trash and a warning not to make too much noise. She also said that water and electricity should not be wasted as much as possible.
There is no section that says what they charge you for the use of electricity and gas I suppose that is a good thing.
I got out of the elevator and started looking for my room, which was surely easy to find.
When I found my room, I took my key card and opened the door. Upon entering I could see a bed and a television along with a few pieces of furniture and a computer.
After closing the door, do some more research, there was nothing surprising really. Simply a bathroom and a kitchen. But that didn't matter to me, without worrying about my uniform I jumped on my bed.
I took the brochure that sensei handed me and started reading it while looking bored.
I sincerely expected a bigger challenge, but this just disappointed me.
I thought it would be more fun, but I guess I'll have to put up with 3 long years at this school, what-
