It had been two hours since Walter had left the garage . Cabe had left to return to Homeland , with an excuse he had paperwork to do . However Toby was certain that he left so he could have some time on his own , to digest and make sense of what had happened just over two hours ago .
Toby had persuaded Paige to lay down on the sofa . She had fell into disturbed sleep ,but the occasional sob could still be heard coming from her even as she slept .
Sylvester had not moved off his chair since Walter had left and had not spoken a word .
Toby and Happy had sat together , Toby had tried to get Happy to talk to him , but she was showing no interest at all . Toby had spent most of the time trying to analyze what Walter was thinking or intending to do , but as usual he could not read 197 's brain .
Paige stirred and suddenly sat bolt upright , she looked around as if she had awoken in a strange land . Turning to Toby she asked . " Did i dream what happened ?"
" I am afraid not , it happened ." he replied
" Why does Walter think i hate him , for god's sake i feel like he his the love of my life ."
"What you have to understand with Walter , is although you have done a brilliant job with his EQ , it is not high enough to make decisions with . I know for a fact he has loved you from the first day he met you , but he cannot express his feelings . He only works on facts to make a decision , and that is what he has done , especially once Tim came on the scene .
Fact 1 Your apparent attraction to him as soon as he arrived . Fact2 You started to date Tim . Fact 3 He realized what a mistake he made giving you and Tim the Tahoe tickets , so he chased after you to tell you he was in love with you . So he pulled the childish pranks to stop you getting to involved with Tim . But the first thing he saw was you and Tim locking lips . Fact 4 When you came back from Tahoe and the computer hacking was solved . You and Tim spent a lot of time flirting , kissing and talking in private . However you always seemed to manage to be in his eye line , in fact he prepared an APT chart , avoid Paige and Tim , before you ask . Also i would image he already had his suspicion of Tim ."
Paige had sat back on the sofa in total shock. "But i have never hated Walter and never could , even when i told him i did not want Ralph to be like him . I know i should have may be told him how i felt . I should have done what i really wanted to do ,and that was refuse the Tahoe tickets unless he went with me . Because i realize now i have lost the best chance of my life to have someone who loves me and would have been a perfect dad to Ralph . I need some time on my own .I am going up to the loft ,do not try to follow me ."
At that Paige made her way to the stairs and climbed them to the loft . After entering the loft she shut the door and did something Walter has never done all the time she had known him . She locked the door .
She made her way over to Walter's bedroom and entered . Standing there for a few moments , just taking in the smell of the room . She quickly removed her clothes and slowly walked over to his bed and slid between the sheets , then buried her face into his pillow in the hope of being able to take in some of his smell off his pillow , but it had been nearly four weeks since he had last slept in the bed , there was only the faintest of his smell in the pillow .
She began to imagine what she would like to be doing to Walter and what Walter could be doing to her . As all these thoughts were going through her head , she slowly went into a disturbed sleep. She woke after about forty minutes feeling a wetness between her legs . Another thought entered her head , this is my first wet dream i have had since i was 17 and fancied the captain of the football team , even though he had never seemed to have any interest in me . She decided to have a shower before going down to the garage . Getting dressed after her shower , she started to giggle to herself when a thought struck her . Boy am i glad i removed my panties before i got into bed , it would have been uncomfortable to wear them damp , and going without them was a complete no go , the length of the skirt she was wearing would have been a little on the short side .
She went down to a very quiet garage the three geniuses were just sitting on their chairs , looking totally lost .
" OK guys , let's get down to what we can do . With Walter signing the garage over to us , we are now responsible for all the bills ." Although she was trying to build the team's confidence up , she knew in her own heart that she was as down as all the others but could not afford to show it .
Toby looked up from his desk , with hardly a smile on his face . "Paige after what as happened today i don't think any of us are in any state to do any constructive work today . Maybe we should put aside any idea of work until tomorrow . "
" You are correct , you guys get off home . I will hang around here until i have to pick up Ralph . Boy i am not looking forward to the conversation i will be having with him tonight ." Sighed Paige as the others gathered their things together and left the garage .
Paige sat at her desk and decided she would not bother with work ,but in her mind she played out the conversation she would be having with Ralph tonight and wondering just how it would play out . She had already decided not to discuss anything about it in the car home , remembering what happened after the memorial service . She left the garage to pick up Ralph .
After picking Ralph up from school, she drove home , only talking about his day she knew there would be trouble this evening once she started to tell Ralph about Walter . Once home Ralph went to his bedroom to complete his homework , while Paige prepared the evening meal .
Once the evening meal was finished ,Paige cleared up and put all the items that needed cleaning into the dishwasher .
She called Ralph and sat on the sofa , once Ralph appeared she told him to sit on the sofa next to her . Once comfortable Paige began a conversation she was dreading , eventually unsure and a little frightened to the way Ralph could react . She took a deep breath in and began speaking .
"Ralph a lot has gone on at the garage today . Please let me finish speaking before asking any questions , i am afraid if you interrupt me i may not be able to continue what i have to say . "
Ralph looked at her with a quizzical look on his face , he seemed to take his time to absorb what is mom had just said . Eventually he just nodded his head . His mind however was tumbling trying to run calculations as to what his mom was about to say .
" Cabe arrived at the garage this morning to tell us Tim had been arrested this morning ."
Ralph went to speak , but saw the look on his mom's face , and remembered his promise . "After he told us that he said he wanted the person who found all the evidence to explain
everything to us . He then went over to the garage door and opened it , and in walked Wa,Wa , Walter " Paige had to stop speaking as she was chocking trying to hold back her tears . Ralph sat with a look of confusion on his face , totally ignoring the promise he had made spoke .
"Walter is alive ,were his he , can i see him , i need to see him . "
Paige wiped her tears away with her fingers and began speaking again . "Walter as gone , he as flown back to Ireland ." She put her hand up to stop Ralph speaking . " Well surprise number two , Walter is Happy's husband . He apparently married her six years ago , so he could keep his green card , it was purely a marriage of convenience , but if they are not married for eight years he would automatically be deported . Well today he told Happy to prepare her divorce papers , so she can marry Toby . So he decided he would leave for Ireland today before he is deported . He also thinks i hate him and he told me to have a good life and left . Oh and he signed the garage over to the team including Cabe . "
Ralph sat silent , but his face that of an angry young man suddenly spoke . "Why do you think Walter hates you , and why was Tim arrested ? "
Paige sat there for a moment , thinking i should have known better than only give Ralph part of the information .
"Tim was paid $250,000 by Collins to try and seduce me and rub Walter's face in it ,in an attempt to break up Scorpion . But because i was mad at Walter i played into Tim's hands , by all my fliting ,kissing and private conversations always were Walter could see it going on . Walter said that had hurt him more than Tim doing it , and he had not realized just how much i hated him . He never gave me a chance to explain he just walked out without looking back ,even though i was shouting his name the best i could through my tears ."
Ralph looked at her and turned and hugged her tight.
" Do you think we will be able to speak to him once he arrives in Ireland ?" Asked Ralph , while trying to keep his own emotions under control , unlike Walter he had learned more about emotions from being around Paige for all his life .
"I don't really know sweetie , he seemed so angry when he left , he may well block everyone's number ."
Back at Homeland
Katherine and Cabe were sitting in her office , clock watching both were waiting for the clock to reach 4. they could satisfy their curiosity by opening the letters Walter had written and left with them . As soon as the clock reached 4.00pm. they both opened their envelopes and removed the contents and began reading .
Katherine's letter .
Dear Katherine
It as been a pleasure working with and for your team over the last six months . I am sorry to have left in such a manner , but much as happened over the last few months . All of my problems began when Tim decided he wanted to come and work for Scorpion , and he was given permission by Homeland to do so , not by me who was the actual owner of the company . I am aware now the reason he had wanted to be involved with Scorpion , although when he arrived no one did know , even Toby the Harvard trained phycologist did not pick up on any clues to his intentions . However i had a feeling something was not right , but at first i put it down to a thing of jealousy , that he seemed keen to have a relationship with Paige and i must admit i had the impression she wanted one with him . I realized to late now how i felt about Paige and so i pulled some childish pranks which made her mad at me . She got her own back with her behavior with Tim . I became certain she hated me and i could not work with her if that was the way she felt . So i have decided to give Happy her divorce , yes i had a marriage of connivance to Happy to allow me to stay in the U.S.A . . As i have not been married to Happy for the requisite time i have left and gone back to Ireland . Please look after Scorpion and Cabe .

After finishing reading her letter she sat back looking at Cabe , who seemed transfixed by what he was reading . She wiped a tear away with her finger .
Cabe's letter
My dearest Cabe
Thank you so much for being such a brilliant father figure in my life back before Bagdad and for the past two years since you found me again . You have shown the kind of love a real father should show his child and i know you have tried to guide me with care and love through life , but i do have one thing to say that i did not agree with . That is , i was not ready for Paige and let her have her life with Tim . Well you were certainly wrong on that point . However you were correct that she was not for me , as it became obvious she hated me . I am however certain i will never fall in love again , when it does not work out it hurts to much . Please look after all of Scorpion and take particular care of Ralph , maybe become a surrogate father to him . Paige is excellent with him , but at times he needs a man in his life , i don't mean a downbeat like Drew . One day i hope we can meet up again but for now .

Cabe put his letter down and wiped the tears from his eyes , Both Katherine and Cabe sat in silence for a few minutes . Suddenly Katherine sat up straight and looked across at Cabe .
"I hope Walter's leaving is not going to be a problem with the case we have against the three prisoners ?"
"How could that be a problem ." Asked Cabe
"Well if he gets divorced before we get them to court , he will in theory be a felon for having a marriage of convenience ." Said Katherine as she rubbed her hand across her face
"I can have a word with Happy , see if she would delay the paperwork until after the court case , Replied Cabe
"Maybe once we can get to interview it is possible one of them could turn on the other two , especially if we offer to take Treason of the table ." Katherine said hopefully .
"I am certain that one will not be Collins. " Said a smiling Cabe
As he finished speaking there was a knock on the door .
"Come In ." Shouted Katherine
The door opened and one of the members of the tech. team came in .
"Sorry to bother you mam , but i thought you might be interested in the information we have managed to retrieve from the burner phone we found at Armstrong's flat . "
"We most certainly do want to know ,and we are still waiting for the phone they found in Collins cell . " Answered Katherine .
"We have managed to find at least five received messages that talk about money and Scorpion , and four outgoing messages to a burner phone . It could be that the phone we have not yet received could be the one receiving the messages . " Replied the tech.
"What about the two computers ." Asked Cabe .
"We are still working on them , both have a lot of deleted data that will take a lot more work to come up with the answers ." Answered the tech.
"Ok keep us informed , the third prisoner is due here in about another two hours , so we should have that other phone as well ." Katherine told him as a way to dismiss him .
"Yes Mam look forward to receiving the other phone ." Said the tech walking to the door .
"Well that was a bit of good news at least ." Said Cabe as he rose from the chair .
"I am going to get some coffee , would you like one Katherine ."
"Yes but i think i will come with you , i could do with streching my legs .
Around 7.30pm. Rusty ,Simone and Nick appeared in Katherine's office .
"Hi guys everything go alright ?" Asked Katherine .
"Fine, he did start whining a little to much at one stage , but Simone soon put an end to that . He is now locked up in one of the cells downstairs for the night . We found a burner phone , note pad and pen , plus some articles about Scorpion . We have taken them all down to the tech. department ." Replied Rusty .
Cabe had just been sitting in the chair he had occupied for most of the afternoon .
"Well that is all three now in lock up , are you going to wait until tomorrow to start the interviews ." He asked Katherine .
" Most defiantly i think we could all do with a goods night rest before we begin tackling those three . Cabe do you want to carry out Tim's interview , i will do Stuart's interview , Rusty how do you feel about handling Collins interview . It might be prudent to change interviewer at times during the interviews ."
Cabe nodded his head in agreement , Rusty looked at Katherine for a few seconds before speaking.
" I think that is a good idea , but when i interview Collins i think i will take Simone in with me , Collins seems to have built up a grudge against her , but he his obviously petrified of her at the same time."
Katherine just smiled at Rusty ,knowing just what Rusty was getting at . '
"Ok then now that is sorted i suggest we leave now , then regroup 8.00am. tomorrow . " Said Katherine as she began tidying her desk . The other four all said their goodbyes and left the office
Back at the condo
Paige was getting ready for bed , she had dressed in one of Walter's button down blue shirts and a pair of his boxers . She had purloined these when she made a second visit to the loft before picking Ralph up from school . In fact she had taken three shirts and three pairs of boxers and half a bottle of cologne ,she felt she needed to be close to Walter especially in bed ,the cologne she sprayed a small amount on her pillow as a reminder of his smell . She settled down in bed but after a hour , she was still restless and every time she shut her eyes all she kept seeing was Walter's face just before he turned to leave the garage , it was an expression of hopelessness and pain .
She heard a light knock on her bedroom door .
"Come in ." Knowing it would be Ralph .
"Hi sweetie."
"I can't sleep , i am sad over Walter leaving and not even saying goodbye to me . Could i sleep in your bed , just for tonight , i will be good i promise ."
Paige called him over ,picked the sheet up so he get in the bed , were he snuggled up to his mom and whispered "Thank you."
