More time passed, and Tai Lung only knew it between dreams of Guang's village and when she was there with him. Occasionally he would notice new bruises on her arms but she never spoke about how she had gotten them, and he knew if they were from the guards. Then one day as he was dreaming something fell from above, it was a feather.

Tai Lung did not move as the guard insulted him, he could take it. Unlocking the shell restraining him he took free breaths for the first time in years. He smiled, it was time for revenge on the garrison for Guang. Then when she was free from this place and mountains, he would get his scroll. Throwing back his head he roared.

Using the bolts shot at him, Tai lung freed himself from the chains holding his arms to boulders keeping him in place. Then he kicked the staircase for himself in order to get up the walls. Avoiding arrows by holding onto the bottom of the elevator, he attacked the garrison guards themselves at the top of it.

Ripping through the guards he went up three levels until he reached the kitchen corridor, where a coward was holding Guang in front of him as a shield. Tai Lung growled and jumped over Guang, clawing the coward from behind in his exposed neck forcing the guard to let her go. Then he threw the armored body through the walls to the giant hole he was once trapped in. Turning to Guang, "Are you alright?" She nodded so he took her hand and swung her onto his back, "Hold on, I'll get you out of here."

Guang's extra weight needed calculation as he staged his jumps and throws to get through those who had caused them so much pain. But the way he was able to turn to protect her from them was worth it, as were her arms and legs wrapped securely around him. She held on barely squeaking as he broke down everything, only screaming when they were in freefall from the last defense that used dynamite to bring down the sharp chunks of rock from the ceiling. But he was able to use the last one to blast their way out.

Walking out of the prison with fire behind him, Tai Lung let Guang step into the snow before grabbing the messenger sent from Shifu. Lifting the terrified goose he spoke, "Fly back there and tell them that the real Dragon Warrior is coming home." After throwing the goose into the air he made sure the messenger was on his way before turning to where Guang was kneeling in the snow shaking. Crossing to her he put a hand on her shoulder, "What is wrong?"

Looking at him with fear in her sapphire blue eyes, "What will happen when the guards wake up?" Looking at the forms scattered around, "They'll be so angry." Pulling into herself, "What if they blame me for what happened?"

"That won't matter," there was an edge to his voice. She turned to where he had taken a knee next to her, "Because we won't be here." Standing up he extended a hand to her, "Lets go."

She smiled and took it, "Okay." And together they started the journey to the Valley of Peace. But there would be no peace for anyone in the Jade Palace or those who tried to hurt Guang.
