The road to the Jade Palace was well tended and Guang did better as the mountains receded from view. She was still afraid of what would happen if the jailers caught up, and believed that Tai Lung was the only one who had her safety on his radar. It didn't matter that everyone else was afraid of him, because she believed in her friend.
Food was something that Tai Lung could steal with his Kung Fu, and he was quieter than expected because Guang asked him not to destroy anything. She had pointed out that the people they passed were not the ones Tai Lung wanted revenge on so he should save the destruction until then. But she agreed that if there was danger or other Kung Fu masters then things might, reasonably, get out of hand.
Then came the thread of hope, and Guang did not like this. A single rope bridge over a rocky chasm… not good. Tai Lung swung her on his back again and started running across the bridge to get across before the Furious Five could do anything.
Everyone knows that the Five cut the ropes of the bridge but caught the severed ends in order to save Tigress, this was before realizing Guang was a part of it too. Tai Lung was the only one composed as he casually stood on a single rope that used to be a handrail and leaned on the wood of the bridge, "Where is the Dragon Warrior?"
Tigresses eyes were only for her opponent and readying herself for the attack she knew would come, "How do you know your not looking at her?"
Guang broke in now with her limbs tight around Tai Lung and face buried in his neck trying not to look down, "We're gonna die!"
Tai Lung stayed calm, "No, we will not die." Smiling at the Five in a way that was more threatening than anything, "These students and I are going to have a talk." Addressing them again and motioning to the young woman on his back, "There is no reason for her to stay here is there." As Guang whimpered, "Because she would appreciate being on solid ground."
Knowing her friends were looking at each other Tigress nodded, "Alright, she can pass."
Guang did not want to let go of Tai Lung, holding on like he was the only rock in a river and if she let go it would lead to drowning. He did not hurt her, if fact he was extremely gentle. Speaking quietly, "It's alright, you'll be fine." Finally she was gripping the wood and hugged close to it as she clawed her way past Tigress and onto the solidness of the rock on the other side before scrambling away from the edge. Looking between the edge and Tai Lung all could see the terror in her face however he was the only one watching her at this point and called, "Go on my dear, I'll catch up."
The young woman did not need any more encouragement on that front, she hurried away from the chasm as if it held all the pain in her world. Hearing Tai Lung behind her calmly explaining what he had heard of the Dragon Warrior while standing on that single stand of rope she muttered, "You are all crazy."
Once her fear was gone Guang stopped in the middle of the road and looked back. [What if five against one is too much?] {Tai Lung is a Master he can beat students.}
She turned back towards the valley then another thought came, [He had been imprisoned for a long time. As long as you've been alive.] Turning towards the mountain she started down the road back to him, worried.
Cresting the hill she just came down she saw Tai Lung running towards her on all fours, the fastest speed a leopard or tiger can have. Tears picked her eyes and when he crested the hill facing her, "Are you alright?" He stretched out a paw to place on her shoulder.
Quickly closing the space she hugged him fiercely, "I was worried about you." Before he could answer, "I know your a Master and they are just students but I couldn't bear to loose you." Looking up at him she saw he was watching her with something in his eyes, "Please say something."
Wrapping his arms around her he pulled her to his chest, "I'm sorry I worried you." Looking over her head toward the Valley of Peace, "But there will probably be at least one more fight before all of this is over."
