That night Tai Lung watched Guang stirring soup over the fire, "I was found as a cub." She looked up at him and he continued, "My Master raised me, taught me Kung Fu when I first showed interest." Looking down at his hands, "I did everything he ever wanted of me, broke my bones to learn every part of Kung Fu trying to make him proud." Sighing through his nose, "He told me I was destined for greatness, the Dragon Scroll."

His fists clenched, hands trying to strangle each other. Guang spoke quietly, "What happened?"

Looking at where she had sat down across from him, "I didn't get the Scroll." Breaking a rock, "Oogway thought I was not enough and my Master turned his back," shaking his head, "abandoned me instead of helping me." There was anger in his eyes but Guang looked past it to see the pain, "When I tried to get what I deserved Shifu jumped to fight me off, and Oogway paralized me. Shifu," pain in the name but anger nearly covered, "he locked me away in that hole."

A gentle paw on his clenched ones caused Tai Lung to look up, "If you weren't in that hole I never would have met you." Raising the other to stop him before he could interrupt her, "My friend, I am sorry that you have been hurt." Lowering the hand, "But that is our lot in life, always shaped by expectations." Leaning her head against his shoulder, "You to be the the Dragon Warrior and me to be a worthless slave all of my life."

Slowly, as if making sure it was alright he wrapped an arm around her shoulders, "You are not worthless, you are a treasure."

Looking up at him she smiled, "So are you." Straitening so she could look him in the eyes, "You don't need the Dragon Scroll for worth, you are amazing just by being yourself."

Tai Lung did not know what to say to this. It was something no one else in his life had ever told him, and yet something that he could never believe of himself. Instead of answering he put his chin on her head making a memory.
