Tony couldn't stop thinking about the kid, and if he was okay. He had the best doctors, to take care of him, but he didn't know if that was good enough.

He hadn't seen the kid for a very long time, and he began to grow worried.

What if the kid wasn't alright?

What could he have done to help him more?

Everyone sat around anxiously waiting for Peter to get out of surgery.

He had been so lost in his thoughts that he had been oblivious to the rest of the avengers returning from the battle.

"Tony?" Steve yelled

"Yeah, I'm in here." Tony responded

He went back to his thoughts as all the avengers came back in.

"Tony, what happened?" Thor asked

"The kid,…. My kid is in surgery, he, he's really hurt, Cho took him for surgery about 3 hours ago." Tony responded

"Tony, he's going to be alright." Natasha assured him.

"Yeah, tones, Peter is a strong kid, he won't leave us." Captain added

"Yeah….." Tony agreed. He didn't know if what they were saying was true, he hoped it was, he hoped he'd see Peter swinging on his webs again, annoying him once more.

They had all watched a movie waiting for Peter to get out of surgery. Everyone had fallen asleep besides tony. He couldn't stop thinking about Peter. The kid that he loved was fighting for his life, and he just wanted to know if he was okay.

He also couldn't sleep, knowing that Peter was open on an operating table.

"Tony are you alright?" Natasha asked. Tony now realized that she was awake.

"Yeah. I'm just worried about him, that's all."tony said

"He'll be alright Tony. He's survived a lot." She assured him

"I don't know this time, you should've seen him, he was pale, and in so much pain."

"I know, Tony, this kid, is strong, he's stronger than any of us."

"Tony!" Someone summoned

Tony looked up, and realized it was Dr. Cho.

He walked over to her, and saw that she was walking over to him.

"Peter's made it through surgery. He had sustained multiple ruptures to many organs, but I was able to repair them successfully. His lungs are still healing, along with his heart and his liver." She said

"Is he going to be alright?" He asked

"He is stable, but is in a medically induced coma, so that his body can heal properly and with greater ease than if he was conscious." She responded

"Can I see him?" He asked

"Of course. Just don't be shocked when you see him, he's been through a lot, and the trauma affected his body greatly. He has a ventilator currently." She said

Tony nodded. He didn't care, he just wanted to see Peter. He wanted to see him, no matter the way he looked.

Seeing Peter for the first time was a heartbreaking experience.

Tony could feel the breath removed from his lungs, as he saw the state Peter was in. The kid had bandages all over his chest, and a tube sticking out and down his throat.

"Once his lungs heal, we can take the vent out, but for right now, it's what's best for him."

"Yeah…." Tony said

Peter looked still and calm. Which was never the case with him. He had always been vibrant and cheerful, bouncing off the walls, quite literally. It was odd and eerie to see him like that.

Peter's eyes had dark circles underneath them. He was still cold to the touch, and his body was pale.

"Does he have any family, that we need to call?" Dr cho asked

"Yes, his aunt, May Parker." Tony responded

He pulled up the contact on peters phone and handed it to her.

He then refocused to Peter, in front of him.

He stepped closer and put the kids limp hand in his own.

"Hey kid. Please come back to me kid. You've got a whole village behind you here. And we all need you back. Mostly me." Tony's voice cracked. "You've reminded me what it's like to care for someone else."

"And I can't lose you too." Tony whispered as he brushed his fingers through peters hair.

"You're the most resilient pain in the butt I know kid, so don't let them win. Please don't let them win. The team won't be the same without you." Tony said to him.

After several minutes of him sitting by peters bedside, he couldn't stand looking at the kids unconscious form anymore. The sound of the ventilator pumping air into his lungs shattered his heart. Looking at him, only made him miss him more.

He took one final deep breath in, and squeezed his hand again, before he walked away and out of the door.

He walked out to see the avengers all sitting by the door waiting for him to come out.

"How's Peter?" Wanda asked

"I-I don't know." Tony whispered between his voice cracks.

"How'd he look Tony?" Steve asked him, chiming in.

"He looked-he looked really bad." Tony said

"He's been through a lot in the past 24 hours tones, he'll be alright." Steve assured him

"I just don't want to see him in pain." Tony said, as steve came over and put a hand on his shoulder.

"None of us do. Peter's one of us now." He said

"He's a good kid, tones, he's strong." Rhodey said.

"I don't know if he's strong enough to survive this."

"He'll be okay. You'll see. He won't give up, Tony." Rhodey said

"Yeah-" tony said quietly, oblivious to everyone around him.

"Tony." Natasha said

"Yeah."

"Have you slept yet?" She asked

Tony shook his head, "no." Tony responded

"Tony, you've got to go to sleep."

"I can't, not when Peter's-" Steve interrupted him. "Tony, he's gonna be okay, We'll all watch him, and let you know if anything happens to him." Steve assured him

"Ok-" Tony said reluctantly, as he walked off and went into his room.

He didn't want to leave, but he knew that him being there for 12 hours straight wasn't good for him and Peter.
