Linnie: Oh dear...I really don't think Cosmo's talk with Wanda went well. I'm trying to treat his black eye right now, and my goodness, is it swollen. If I hadn't been with Nora most of my life, I would have said that this was the worst black eye I've ever seen. Oh dear...I don't like this one bit. I'm afraid Cosmo is following in my footsteps, and I had always hoped that the children wouldn't have the life that I had. That they'd live with someone who loved them very much. But...as much as I'd love to, I can't always protect them from the world.
I've tried talking to Cosmo about possibly moving in with me for a little while, so he could decide his next move and keep himself and the kids safe, but he's pretty unresponsive right now. He's really only speaking a few words at a time. It's heartbreaking, really. Cosmo really did love Wanda.
I'd go over there and talk to her myself but if Wanda's starting to get physical...I don't think it would be wise. Goodness knows what she's capable of. I...well...there is my sister's neighbor I could talk to. Mrs. Birch is such a tough person. No wonder Mr. Birch and their daughter, Casey, feel safe most of the time. Carrie's protecting her man. Ugh...I'm not trying to be rude, but why can't there be more women like her?
