AN: Yo again, everyone. Thank you for the reviews that you left on the first chapter and for the following. As you saw, Fuutarou managed to reunite with Nino and met also her sisters, finding out that he will be their tutor (when Nino hoped he'd ask her out hahaha). And now we will see how the two of them met in Kyoto 5 years ago, so here we go!
'Ugh, why did I have to get lost while I was playing with the puppies?', mentally complained a young girl with long red hair, blue eyes and a white dress while walking around Kyoto.
The little girl was on a trip to Kyoto with her family, however, she got distracted by the sight of some cute puppies that made her want to pet them. And because of this, she lost sight of her parents and her siblings, bringing her to search for them as she was doing at the moment.
She was walking around everywhere to find them, but between the various people she crossed paths with she didn't find anybody. So, starting to get angry and sad, she sat down on a bench while trying to not cry.
'W-why cannot I find them?', she thought, with her tears falling down from her eyes.
"Hey, are you ok?", suddenly asked her a voice.
She lifted her gaze to see a young boy with black hair, golden eyes and a left earring. He wore a grey sweater and blue trousers and was looking at her in worry.
His sharp eyes and his face were so attractive that the girl blushed upon seeing him. "I-I got lost and I can't find my family. I-I searched for them for a while with no results.", she replied bashfully and sniffling.
"You got separated from your family while walking around? Then you don't mind if I help you, right?", asked her the boy with a grin.
Her eyes widened while her blush grew. "Ehh? Y-you would help me to find my family?"
"Of course, I don't like seeing people cry. So if I can make sure that you smile by helping you to search for your family, I will do it.", he replied, offering his hand for her to take it.
'H-he wants to help me for that reason? H-he's so nice.', she thought, wiping her tears off and taking the boy's hand without hesitation.
"By the way, my name's Uesugi Fuutarou, but feel free to call me Fuutarou. And yours?", he asked her.
"My name's Nino Nakano. Nice to meet you, Fuutarou.", was her reply, accompanied by a smile.
"Nino, huh? I'm glad that you can smile like that. Let's go to search for your family?", asked her the boy, with her nodding and starting to walk together.
So the two kids walked around the ways of Kyoto, talking to each other to get acquaintanced better. Fuutarou told Nino that he was walking around alone because he basically escaped from the boring explanation of his teacher about a temple, since he and his class were on a school trip.
Hearing that made Nino surprised at first and then giggle, finding funny the reason why the boy was by himself. In exchange, she told him that she was instead on a family trip with her parents and her sisters, but she got separated from them because she saw some puppies and played with them.
"Hahaha, that's kinda silly as way to get lost!", he exclaimed, chuckling and making her pout.
"D-don't laugh, Fuutarou! It's not funny!", she told him, blushing embarrassed.
"Sorry, hahaha. It's just that I find cute that you like little animals like that."
Such words and that toothy grin made Nino's heart beat a little faster, causing her cheeks to have a brilliant shade of red. She had just met the golden eyes boy and he was already causing her a mix of emotions: happiness, intrigue, and fun. But a warm feeling in her heart was what she could perceive the most.
'T-this what I read in that fairytale…About how the princess got this warm feeling when she locked eyes with her prince. The s-same thing that happened to me with Fuutarou.', she thought, blushing deeper and smiling at the idea of the boy being her prince. She also started to imagine herself and him dressed up like the characters of the fairytale.
Still, her daydreaming got interrupted when Fuutarou grabbed her red cheeks. "Oi Nino, don't ignore me while I talk with you.", he told her, frowning and making her look in his eyes.
The little girl blushed deeper and said bashfully, "S-sorry, I was distracted. W-what were you telling me, Fuutarou?"
"I asked you if you'd like to come with me to a temple that I wanted to visit. It's pretty crowded as far as I heard, so maybe we can find your family there too."
His idea was greatly appreciated by the redhaired girl, so she smiled and nodded to follow him again while holding his hand.
During the way, since Fuutarou had an instant camera with him, he took some photos of Kyoto's ways and attractions, with the add of one where Nino smiled. A smile that made him blush for how cute it was.
The young girl asked him if they could take a photo together then, with him accepting. So they asked a nice passersby lady to take two photos of them in order to have a copy for both.
The woman accepted and took the camera, asking them to pose to make the photo great. And without hesitating, Nino hugged Fuutarou and smiled while winking her eye, with him smirking and doing a victory sign. Obviously, both of them blushed during this.
And after the lady took two photos, gave a copy for each one of them and greeted them, Nino had a big smile on her face.
"Thank you for this photo, Fuutarou! I will keep it with great care!", she said, giggling.
"Y-you're welcome. Now let's go to the temple I told you about.", he replied, blushing. and scratching the back of his head.
A happy Nino nodded in agreement and took his hand once again to follow him. But suddenly, someone called for the boy.
"I found you, Fuutarou-kun!", said a female voice from behind them.
Both kids turned around to see a little girl with short black hair and blue eyes, who was frowning at Fuutarou.
"Takebayashi?! No! I won't get bored again with that grumpy teacher's explanation again! Let's run, Nino!", he exclaimed, starting to run and to drag a confused and stunned Nino.
"Ah! Come back here, Fuutarou-kun!", shouted Takebayashi, starting to follow them. But they ran so fast that she couldn't keep up, bringing her to pout angrily.
'Mouuu, Sensei will yell at you later, you dummy! Plus, who was that girl and why were you holding her hand?', thought Takebayashi, seeming jealous of Nino.
And jealousy was what the redhaired girl felt too after she and Fuutarou were catching some breath after running for a bit, following the direction for the temple obviously.
"Phew, we escaped and are almost arrived to the temple. Takebayashi is sure annoying when she wants to ruin my fun.", he said, sighing in relief.
"Fuutarou, who was that girl?", suddenly asked him Nino, looking at him seriously.
"Hmm? She's just a classmate of mine. She's the smartest in my class and helps me often to study, since I don't have very high grades.", he replied.
"Y-you like her in a special way?"
"Eh? No, she's just a friend of mine. P-plus, I find you way cuter than her.", was his answer while he blushed and looked away embarassed.
Such answer made the girl's eyes shine and her heart skipped a beat, pushing her to hug him again. "Hehe, so you find me cuter? I'm happy to hear it, Fuu-kun."
"F-Fuu-kun?"
"It's a nickname that I just came up with it. I think it's very nice. Do you like it?"
He continued to blush and simply nodded, making her giggle. Knowing that he liked the sweet nickname she came up with for him made her truly happy.
"A-anyways, we're very close to the temple now. So let's continue, Nino?"
She smiled at him. "Of course, Fuu-kun!"
Then they started to walk once again, this time with the girl clinging on the boy's arm, who couldn't hide his blush.
'I-It's the first time that a girl calls me in such a sweet way. And I like it very much like Nino's smile.', he thought, admiring the girl's happy expression.
They went towards the temple like this for a while, until they finally reached a little red temple with a bell of wishes near to it. They started to look around the place in search of her family, especially her sisters that were supposed to look very similar to Nino. Unfortunately, they didn't find anybody that the girl could recognize, which brought her to frown and to look down sad.
Fuutarou didn't like seeing her like that, so he hugged her and patted her head while whispering to her that he'd stick with her until they didn't find her family. And it seems that his gesture did the trick as the she smiled and reciprocated the hug, enjoying the warmth he was giving her.
Not only the boy didn't give up on helping her, but he was even comforting her with a hug and gently caressing her hair. It felt just like when the prince comforted his princess after she lost her mother in that fairytale.
Such sensation made her heart beat faster, and after recalling what happened when she locked her eyes with him, she could confirm that she fell in love with him at first sight. And the way he was so nice with her just made that feeling bigger.
"Are you fine now, little baby?", he asked her with a cheeky grin after they reluctantly stopped to hug.
She pouted at that and said, "That's rude, Fuu-kun! You can't hug me and then call me like that! You meanie!"
"Hahaha, it seems that you're ok. That's good. Since you're fine, let's go to make a wish with the bell over there?"
Nino looked at the bell of wishes that he pointed at, and after thinking a little, she came up with an idea.
"How about we make a promise instead?
"A promise?"
She blushed and told him, "Y-yes, I w-want that we promise to each other to m-meet us again in the future. C-can we, Fuu-kun?"
Her expression and her words caused the golden eyes boy to blush as well, but he pulled off a smile and replied, "Meeting each other again, huh? I like the sound of that. Let's do this promise, Nino!"
She smiled brightly and nodded happily to that, following the boy towards the bell and using some 500 yen coins as offer before making it ring.
They then closed their eyes and started to pray, with Nino glancing at him and smiling.
'I want to meet Fuu-kun again in the future and be his girlfriend.', were her thoughts, looking forward to that moment.
'I want to meet Nino again and be able to help my family.', was what he thought instead, hoping to become someone helpful for his parents and his little sister.
And after they prayed for their promise to become a reality, the two of them decided to leave the temple to go to have lunch as both of them were quite hungry.
So they went to buy two yakisoba pans by a food stand, with the seller giving them some candies for free and teasing Fuutarou by telling him to be nice with his little girlfriend.
The teasing did the trick as the boy blushed and hid his face with one hand while Nino blushed and smiled instead. Being seen as his girlfriend was fantastic for her, and Fuutarou didn't even try to deny the statement.
'Hehe, that means that he likes me just I do for him.', she thought while eating her lunch together with him on a bench.
But during this, Fuutarou's attention got attracted by something, so after devouring his pan, he told Nino to wait for him as he needed to buy something.
At first confused, the girl didn't complain about it and nodded, watching how the boy went inside a little shop while eating some strawberry candies.
She waited like that for various minutes, thinking about what Fuutarou had to buy in that shop. Maybe a souvenir? A toy? Or something for her? The thought of receiving a gift from him made her blush and giggle.
And her answer was quick to arrive when the boy returned while hiding something behind his back.
"Alright, Nino. I have a surprise for you, but you have to close your eyes and open them when I tell you to do it.", he told her with a grin.
Blushing as it was indeed something for her, she did as he said and closed her eyes. She then heard some noise of paper moving that stopped quickly, feeling that some of her hair was suddenly touched and tied with something.
It lasted for some minutes until Fuutarou told her to open her eyes, and so she did to see her reflection in a small mirror. But there was something that caught her eyes' attention; she had two black butterfly ribbons on her hair.
"T-these ribbons…D-did you buy them for me, Fuu-kun?", she asked him, with her face getting redder while admiring his gift.
"I-I thought of making you a gift that will make sure that you never forget me, and when I saw those butterfly ribbons, I thought that they'd look really good on you. D-do you like them?", he replied, scratching his cheek.
And there. Nino's heart felt an arrow pierce it, making her big love for him grow even more. So she launched herself on him to hug him, surprising him and making fall both of them on the ground.
"There's no way I will forget you after this! Of course that I like them, Fuu-kun, and I will always wear them from now on!", she told him, snuggling her face on his chest and making him blush deeply.
He sighed while patting her head. "Geez, y-you surprised me more than I did with you. But I'm glad that you like them so much, Nino."
The girl then lifted her gaze to look directly in his eyes and did something that caught him by surprise: she planted her lips on his.
Fuutarou totally didn't expect her to do that if his huge blush and widen eyes were any indication; it was his first kiss after all. A simple and lovely kiss on his lips from a beautiful girl that he just met some hours ago, who he liked already anyways. And the feeling was reciprocate.
Nino's kiss lasted some seconds, after which she separated her lips from his and looked at him with a face red as a tomato.
"T-That was my first kiss, Fuu-kun.", she told him, looking serious and embarrassed.
"I-it was mine too. I guess t-that it's impossible that we won't meet again in the future thanks to this.", he replied, still a little amazed but smiling.
She smiled back at him and nodded, giving him an unforgettable image of her with the ribbons he gave her and a blissful smile on her face. And on the other hand, he gave her an image of him with his gem like golden eyes and a toothy grin. An image that would have always made her heart beat faster whenever she remembered it.
"And that's how Fuu-kun and I met before his teacher and that Takebayashi girl came to take him back with them. He didn't like getting separated from me like that, but he winked at me as to tell me that I would have been able to see him again. Then I managed to reunite with you girls and our parents hehe.", said Nino, concluding the story of how she met the handsome golden eyes tutor while having dinner with her sisters.
Said sisters were totally amazed by how the social butterfly and Fuutarou met in Kyoto 5 years ago, with Itsuki and Yotsuba blushing after hearing that she and their tutor had kissed each other. Or better, that Ninokissed him.
"Wow, so it was him that gave you those ribbons in the end. And it's for that reason that you never wanted to lend them to one of us and to take them off whenever we visited Grandpa.", said Ichika, visibly stunned because of Nino's story.
The long redhaired quint smiled while eating a spoon of miso soup. "That's right. These butterfly ribbons are a special gift from Fuu-kun and it's thanks to them that he recognized me instantly when he saw me today morning too.", she said, blushing at the memory of her hugging the young man in their class.
"I-I still can't believe that you and Uesugi-kun kissed each other when you w-were kids.", said Itsuki, still flushed while eating some Yakitori chicken pieces.
"A-and Uesugi-San also changed a lot from how he was 5 years ago, becoming the best student of Asahiyama.", was Yotsuba's input instead.
"And even more handsome I'd add. Fuu-kun was already cute the first time I met him, but now he's so gorgeous that it makes me want to kiss him everyday.", said Nino, touching her red cheeks and imagining herself and Fuutarou giving each other various kisses.
"Y-You're t-totally head over wheels for him.", said Miku, blushing also because she remembered the gentle smile that the boy showed her when he cheered her up after she didn't do well on the mock test.
"Don't think I forgot that he patted your head, Miku. Don't you dare try to flirt with him, ok? He's mine.", told her the social butterfly with a glare and a dark aura around her.
The headphones girl got a little scared of that glare, but she also blushed at the idea of flirting with Fuutarou. The other 3 sisters were instead amazed by Nino's claim, with Ichika calming her down somehow.
'After hearing the full story of their first meeting and seeing how easily she get jealous of other girls included us, I understand her great affection for him way better. And Fuutarou-kun feels the same for her as it seems.', thought the oldest quint, finding everything very romantic.
Yotsuba and Itsuki thought the same, even if the bunny ribbon girl was already imagining that their tutor would become part of their family by seeing how much Nino loved him. She was like a train no brakes.
On the other hand, Itsuki was still blushing as she found very bold how the social butterfly declared that Fuutarou was hers. Nevertheless, if someone heard how she and the boy got so affectionate to each other those 5 years ago, he would surely understand her behavior.
And from what Itsuki and the other sisters saw some hours ago, the young tutor didn't mind Nino's clinginess at all. He was a little embarassed for sure, but he always smiled at her shows of affection.
However, there was another thing that all the quints considered too: now that Fuutarou was their tutor, he would come often to their apartment to help them to study. And if Nino's attempt to make him stay a little longer before he left was any example, it was sure that she wouldn't question the idea of inviting him to have dinner with them.
But staying for dinner meant staying for the night, right? Which also meant taking a bath and sleeping on a bed. And thinking about this made the ahoge girl blush like her he hair in particular.
'I-I don't want to imagine all that, but Nino's feelings are so strong that she wouldn't hesitate to invite him t-to sleep on h-her bed. S-she said t-that she'd k-kiss him every day after all.', thought the youngest quint, finding shameful what she just imagined.
She also had some steam coming out of her ears when she imagined Fuutarou taking a bath in their bathroom; she was sure that she'd faint if she saw him naked.
But as if she was in synchrony with her, also Miku had imagined similar things, risking to faint already at the mental image of a naked Fuutarou if she didn't shake her head to get rid of such thought.
Nino, Ichika and Yotsuba raised some eyebrows before their behavior, guessing that it was because the food was too hot. If the social butterfly knew the real reason, she would get mad and start to yell at them immediately.
An hour later, the quints were done with their dinner, so they decided to watch a movie on the TV before going to sleep. Since it was Yotsuba's turn to choose this time, the cheerful girl went for a comedy that managed to make her and her sisters laugh often.
Despite being quintuplets, each one of them had a different taste in everything. For example, if Yotsuba preferred comedies Miku liked historical documentaries. And if Ichika's favorite color was yellow then Nino's was purple and so on.
Anyways, after various chuckles and the movie's ending, they took turns to take a bath and said goodnight to each other before going to sleep for the next day.
But inside her room, the second oldest quint was still awake as she was still thinking about how she saw again her beloved Fuu-kun.
'We fulfilled our promise in the end and he also became my and my sisters' tutor. I don't think there is a way to describe how glad I am for this, but I will be even happier when I become his girlfriend. And the first step for that is making a nice bento for Fuu-kun.', she thought, still smiling while starting to sleep and to dream.
The dream was obviously about her and Fuutarou, with Nino giving him her homemade bento inside their school. He would then accept it and eat it, and after being done, he wouldn't think twice about wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her. And obviously, she would kiss him back instantly.
Such dream was so beautiful that the girl mumbled her childhood friend's name in her sleep and smiled, looking forward to the next day.
