Leo

So this is a shitty situation but I minus well explain how we got here. My name is Leo Valdez and this is my story. Life has a funny way of throwing things at people and I'm no exception. My Mom died, I got disowned by my family, tossed into the foster care system and I've ran away from 4 foster homes because each one was abusive. I'm not a bad kid, I promise. I just have some really bad luck but one specific night in particular I lucked out.

If there's anything worse than worse than getting beat up repeatedly and being homeless. It's getting beat up over being homeless by prissy rich teenage bullies.

"Oh look at this, awww does homeless boy want his stuff back?, One of the boys teased.

"Well too bad," One of the other boys said as he set it on fire.

"Noooooo," I screamed. That bag was all I had, so i tried to get to it before the fire got too bad but they held me back.

"Hold him down," The tallest and biggest boy said before he punched me in the stomach knocking the air out of me.

I struggled but they held me up until they finally let me go only to push me down and start kicking me. I felt it churn inside me, the fire wanted out, it wanted to burn but I wouldn't let it especially after what happened last time I let it out so many years ago. I started to black out but I could hear a voice getting louder in the distance.

"Let go of him!" I heard. It was most definitely a girl's voice but one unlike any I'd ever heard. I felt the power behind her word, the rage was genuine and the command final. I felt the boys drop me with no hesitation.

"Ouch, that hurts," I said rubbing my side.

"Leave!" The girl commanded and they did.

I sat up to see the most beautiful girl I've ever met offering me a hand, so I accepted it.

"Are you okay?" she asked genuinely

"I could say yes but then I would be lying, so no," I answered

"I heard what they were saying about you, is it true?" She asked

"Yeah," I answered lowly.

"You should come home with me then," she told me.

"What about your parents? Are they gonna be ok with you bringing a random boy home?" I inquired

"It's only me and my dad and there's plenty of space, so it'll be fine," she answered

"Fine if you say so beautiful, lead the way," I commented

"It's Piper, Piper Mclean," she told me,

"Leo Valdez," I told her back

Turns out Piper's father is a movie star so she had plenty of money and space to spare. The adoption process went through quickly because of that and Piper and I grew to be not only the best of friends but siblings. Somehow I let her rope me into stealing a car and we got sent to boarding school lol and that brings us to now.

This cage we're in is not it, and these shackles are hella tight. Piper and I tried to fight whatever these things were but they clearly have the upper hand on us. I tried to melt the shackles but they won't budge. Piper tried talking to them but they can't even hear us. I don't know what they want but hopefully someone comes soon.
