"Come on, Gale. You're so slow." Storm said as the two of them were on their way back to Magnolia.
"Watch it or I'll break you like the ice you use." Gale said.
"Gale! Get over here!" Storm said. The two of them were just bantering playfully, but Gale could tell Storm was serious now. Gale hurried up and caught up with Storm. When they both could see Magnolia, they could see ice in the area.
"What the hell just happened here?" Gale said.
"There's more. Look!" Storm said as he pointed right at. They could see it as plain as day.
"Is that...a dragon?!" Gale said.
...
As if Nashi didn't have enough problems. Between sorting out whatever is going on in her head and dealing with a new enemy, she and Drake learn that this new enemy can actually become a dragon. Others could see it too and couldn't believe there was a dragon in Magnolia. Nashi and her friends might have fought a zombie-like Acnologia, but this was something completely different.
"Did he actually become a dragon?!" Nashi questioned.
"Yeah. This is no trick. He actually become a dragon. What kind of crazy magic is this?" Drake said.
"You're dragon slayers, but you don't know the full extent of your magic? This is why you have no chance against the likes of me." Cerex claimed. "Challenging me was a fatal mistake. Let me show you." Cerex stored power in his breath. He released some of the power in Magnolia with part of it being destroyed or frozen.
"Unbelievable!" Drake said. The kind of power this guy possesses is just that.
"Why are you attacking Magnolia?! There are innocent people!" Nashi said.
"What do I care? The world is going to change." Cerex said. "For now, the only ones I want are the real dragon slayers."
"He means your old man, Nashi. That's also Gajeel and Wendy." Drake said.
"This guy is insane." Nashi said.
"Now do you see how hopeless it is to fight me?" Cerex taunted. All he did was raise his claw and swung it down. The two of them moved out of the way, but the impact of the claw smashing against the ground blew both of them back.
"Nashi, are you okay?" Drake asked.
"A little shaken, but I think I'll be okay." Nashi said.
"That is just a mere simple of what I can do. It's hopeless for you to fight back." Cerex claimed as he was trying to break their spirits.
"Boy, you really don't know who you're dealing with." Drake said as he and Nashi were getting back up.
"The tougher the enemy, the tougher our guild fights." Nashi said. "In our guild, we learn that there is no enemy to be afraid of!" She formed a fireball and threw it at Cerex with it exploding against him.
"Poison Dragon Roar!" Drake used his roar and blasted Cerex. He felt both attacks since they're meant to fight the dragons, but he was still able to endure. "I guess this is a good way to test our dragon slayer abilities."
"True, but I doubt this guy is going to make it easy. They never do." Nashi said.
"Rotten punks! I guess I'll just have to kill you!" Cerex said as he was getting another attack ready.
"That's enough, Cerex!" They all heard someone call out to him and it caused Cerex to stop in his tracks. They all saw someone else standing on a building. "Why did you enter your dragon form?"
"Sapphron...!" Cerex said.
"Sapphron?" Nashi said as she wondered who he was. Standing at the top of the building was a guy that was all blue. Blue hair, blue long-sleeved shirt, and blue pants. He also had a beige cloak over his shoulders. Cerex appeared to have backed off with him turning back into his human form. Sapphron jumped down and landed next to Cerex.
"It would seem that these years have taken a mental toll on you. You've become quite arrogant and a little demented, I might add." Saphron said.
"Sorry..." Cerex said with some shame. "I was just trying to show these fake dragon slayers what the real thing can do." Saphron did appear to be a little interested as he looked at Nashi and Drake.
"I see... Both of them part of the recent generation of dragon slayers I've heard about." Sapphron said.
"Looks like this guy has a friend." Drake said.
"Yeah, but who are they?" Nashi said.
'I think he's a dragon slayer too. That Cerex is backing down easily. Does that mean this new guy is stronger than him?!' Drake thought. Cerex already showed a sample of some strong power. If this guy is really stronger, they could have a real problem.
"Look, I don't know who you guys are, or what you want, but you just better get out of Magnolia." Nashi said. "Our guild is not one you should mess with."
"She's right. It doesn't matter to us how powerful you think you are. Our guild won't back down from a fight because we fight for the things that are precious to us." Drake said. Sapphron seemed interested in them. He does want to see their power. That's why he just ignored their warning.
"In that case, show me what you can do." Sapphron challenged.
"You asked for it!" Nashi said as she charged right at him with fire around her fist. She tried to attack him, but Sapphron held out his hand and caught her attack. He blocked it rather easily. "No way! He didn't even feel that!"
"Fire... You just use regular fire?" Sapphron questioned. "There's nothing wrong with ordinary..." He held out his other hand and showed he used fire as well with there being something different about it. "...but sometimes you need a little more."
"Blue flames?!" Drake said as he never saw blue fire like that before. Sapphron swung his blazing fist at Nashi, but Nashi blocked his attack. Even though she was push back, she was able to take the hit.
"My name is Sapphron. I use Sapphire Dragon Slayer magic."
"A sapphire dragon slayer?" Nashi said as she's never heard of something like that.
"I'm curious to see what you can really do." Sapphron said. "Let's take this somewhere else, just the two of us." Sapphron took to the buildings and tried leaving.
"Hey! You get back here!" Nashi called as she wanted to chase out of here. "Drake, can I leave the other one to you?"
"No problem. Just go get him, babe." Drake said.
"Don't call me that! We'll talk about "that" later!" Nashi said as she was already blushing. She tried to put it out of her head and chased after Sapphron.
"You idiots really don't know who you're messing with." Cerex said. "You might have won a lot of great battles or whatever, but there's no way you can actually defeat us. We're unlike anything you might have faced before."
"You think so?" Drake said. "We've faced a lot of crazy stuff. We can handle just about anything. You want to try and prove me wrong?" He dared as he surely wasn't backing down.
...
Nashi
Nashi chased after Sapphron. She doesn't know what's going on with these guys, but she does know they need to be stopped. Nashi kept chasing after Sapphron until he landed on the other side of a canal.
"This should do fine." Sapphron said.
"Fine with me. Let's see what you can really do." Nashi said. Sapphron wanted to see what a dragon slayer like Nashi could do. That's why he just snapped his fingers and a burst of blue fire came from around Nashi. He watched what she would do with that and saw her easily devoured it. "Bleh! Those flames actually tasted cold!"
"You can devour my flames. Interesting... Truth be told, this is the first time I'm fighting someone who uses an element like mine." Sapphron said.
"Is that so? Well, I wouldn't want to disappoint you." Nashi said. "Of course, since we both utilize the same element, which is fire, our attacks aren't going to be as effective on each other."
"Exactly. This way I can test the full capabilities of a dragon slayer from your generation." Sapphron said. "Now, either show me what you can do or stand down." Nashi gave him what he wanted. She jumped over the canal and tried to strike him with a blazing fist, but he moved out of the way and avoided her attack.
"Fire Dragon Wing Attack!" Nashi tried attacking with lashing flames, but Sapphron moved away with him getting a sample taste of her flames.
"Not bad. Your flames actually a sweet taste to them." Sapphron said. "However, if this is really the best you can do, you'll never be able to defeat me."
"I'm just getting started!" Nashi claimed as she tried attacking him again, but he blocked her attack and kicked her in the gut with her getting knocked to the ground.
"You use regular fire. Watch now what a blue fire can do." Sapphron said as he formed a blue flame in his hand. "Sapphire Dragon Purgatory!" He threw the fire at her. When it hit, it ignited in a blaze of blue fire. If it weren't Nashi's element being fire, she would have been fried from that attack, but she was able to devour it despite the taste from it.
"I think I'm ironically getting brain freeze from that." Nashi complained.
'Hmm... She really seems no different from any other dragon slayer. Is it just the origin that makes her different from other dragon slayers or is it something more?' Sapphron wondered.
'His flames have a nasty taste, but this guy really has some power.' Nashi thought. 'His magic feels just as powerful as his buddy's.' When she thought that, something came to her. "Hey. Can you transform into a dragon just like your friend could?"
"I can. Why?" Sapphron asked.
"How is something like that possible? How are you even a first generation dragon slayer?" Nashi questioned. "There are no dragons left in the world." 'It doesn't make sense. The most recent first generation dragon slayers are Coro and Stella from Lion's Crown, and that was from a time traveling mishap.'
"There is much about dragon slayer magic you still don't know." Sapphron said. "Dragonfication is what becomes of dragon slayers. Dragon Slayer magic is a powerful form of magic, but it comes with a curse. I suppose that applies to power in general. The greater the power, the greater the price must be paid."
"Yeah, I'm aware of that bit." Nashi said. "What I don't understand is how you're able to transform at will. I don't get how you're a first generation."
"The answer to both your questions are one in the same." Sapphron said. "My comrades and I are all dragon slayers. We've had plenty of experience with this magic and learned to fully use and develop it. You might be a fellow dragon slayer, but your experience pales in comparison to ours. That is why you can't defeat us. No matter how much your flames burn, mine can burn a lot more."
"And what makes you say that? How do you know your experience is far greater than mine?" Nashi said.
"That's simple." Sapphron said as the answer he was about to share was certainly a surprise and not one that Nashi was expecting. It would mean that she's dealing with an enemy the likes of which she's never really dealt with before. "I've been mastering and developing my dragon slayer abilities for the past four-hundred years."
