Korog has launched an attack on Lion's Crown. Coro was fearful of actually fighting him, but after see Ranko risked himself and being reminded of Fairy Tail, he found the courage to fight. The two of them stood off against each other and tried to push the other back. Coro gave it his best shot, but Korog was stronger and ended up sending Coro flying with him crashing into the wall.
"So, you're one of the dragon slayers of this guild." Korog said.
"What if I am?" Coro said.
"You chose to fight me, but it doesn't have to be that way. Tell me where the other one is. I have something I wish to speak with the both of you." Korog claimed.
"Save it. Fairy Tail already told me about you guys and I'm not interested." Coro said. "You want to hurt others to bring back the dragons. That might sound noble, but it isn't right. There's no way Stella and I are working with the likes of you."
"Is that so? Are you certain about that decision?" Korog said. "If you are, there's really nothing more to say." He used his magic and formed orbs of molten rock in his hand. "My name is Korog. This is my Magma Dragon Slayer Magic. I shall burn and incinerate any and all. Magma Dragon Burst Ball!" He threw both balls of molten rock. Coro dived out of the way, but both orbs burst upon impact with it spreading all around. Coro was lucky none of that got on him.
"I might be able to handle the heat, but I don't know how I do with magma and lava. I don't want to test that." Coro said.
"My power destroys anything that stands in the way of our goals." Korog said. "You might be a fellow dragon slayer, but you shall not be spared if you choose to challenge us." He formed more molten rock and was getting ready to just go for the kill.
"Moon Dragon Quill Arrows!" Shots of moonlight came at Korog, but formed a wall of molten rock to block the attack. When the wall crumbled, he could see Stella standing between Korog and Coro.
"Having some trouble, Coro?" Stella said.
"Ranko comes in before me, now you're coming to save me? I must be having an odd day." Coro said. Korog took a look at Stella and was getting a feel of her magic as well.
"You must be the other dragon slayer." Korog said.
"Yes, and I already know what you're going to say. My answer to joining you guys is the same as Coro's. There's no way it's going to happen." Stella said.
"Are you both sure about that?" Korog questioned. He could see it on their faces that they have no intention of joining with them. "Fine. It doesn't really matter to me. I was only following orders. Since you're choosing to stand against us, I'll just burn you down until there is nothing left."
"You came all this way to recruit us, but you don't even care?" Coro questioned as he thought that was very strange.
"My emotions burned away years ago." Korog said. "After years of hardship that I went through, I hardly feel much of anything. Now, I'm just a soldier doing what he was told."
"Is that so? What a sad life you must have lived than. Well, we'll just put you out of your misery." Stella said as she fired a blast of moonlight at him, but Korog simply moved his head and the attack missed.
"Dragon Slayer Magic... The element is moonlight. Are you familiar with Selene? She was a powerful dragon that uses the moon like you." Korog questioned.
"Selene? Never heard of her. My power came from Lunella who raised me like she was my mother." Stella said.
"Very well. Let's see if she taught you well." Korog said as he was ready to fight her.
"Wait just a minute!" Coro said as he got back up. "Stella, I appreciate you coming out here to help me out. However, you need to stand to the side. Go make sure Ranko is okay or whatever. This started out as my fight and I'm going to be the one that finishes it."
"Are you sure?" Stella questioned.
"I am. I acted pretty pathetic earlier. I've got to make up for it by taking this guy down." Coro said. Stella knew Coro pretty well. She knew there was no way she could get him to change his mind.
"Very well." Stella said as she moved out of the way and allowed Coro to finish this fight.
"Do you really intend to take me on alone?" Korog said.
"You bet I am. Come on!" Coro challenged as he charged at him. "Let's see if being alive for centuries actually does anything for you! Sun Dragon Hammer!" He pulled a flaming fist back and tried smashing it against him, but Korog blocked it. Korog fought back as he had molten rock form around his arm.
"Magma Dragon Burning Fist!" Korog tried hitting Coro with his own attack, but Coro ducked down and moved away from him. "Try as you like, but fire appears to be all you've got to fight with. A mere flame can't defeat the likes of me."
"It's not just fire, you hotheaded bastard. My power comes from the sun!" Coro claimed as he formed a fireball in his hands and tossed it at Korog, but Korog crossed his arms and blocked the attack. Coro kept the pressure going. He went at Korog and attacked him with a series of flaming punches, but Korog continued to block the attacks. Coro did managed to get a good hit in with his last attack. He hit Korog right in the face and knocked him back. Coro was ready for his next attack, but he felt something was off. He looked at his hands and saw his gloves were burned and his hands nearly were. "What the hell?"
"One should be more careful when fighting against my magic." Korog said. Coro got a look at him and noticed something about him. "Molten Armor." Korog formed armor made out of molten rock around him.
"Great. I was beginning to think this was too easy." Coro sarcastically complained.
"You possess no chance of defeating me." Korog claimed as he grabbed some stones and started devouring them.
'I see...' Stella thought. She checked on Ranko, but she saw the fight. 'He must be able to eat stone to replenish his power.' Coro readied himself for what Korog had planned.
"Magma Dragon Burning Ash!" Korog breathed out a cloud of smoke and ash. Coro had no time to dodge it as it engulfed him.
"Coro!" Stella shouted as she was worried what that did to him. The cloud blew against everything it came in contact with and made it difficult to tell what happened. It would leave a burning sensation against an ordinary opponent. Luckily, Coro was able to handle it. The cloud cleared away with him covered in ash and he was coughing, but he was able to handle the attack.
"Coro! Are you okay?!" Stella called.
"It was hard to breathe in there, but I think I'll be okay." Coro said as he tried to pull himself together.
"It would seem your immunity to fire protected you, but it won't be enough." Korog said as he grabbed a hold of a piece of stone and had his molten armor burn against it with it breaking apart. "Magma is a powerful and dangerous force. There's practically nothing that can stand against it."
"Blah, blah, blah." Coro said as he didn't care. "Quit all the yapping and let's just finish this."
"You don't seem to get it." Korog said. "I'm saying you don't have what it takes to beat me. You can't even tough me." Korog went at Coro and tried to attack him, but Coro jumped to the side. When Korog's fist came in contact with a concrete wall, the wall broke apart and burned up from his touch.
"It's not looking good out there. Stella, you've got to do something." Ranko said.
'I would like to, but can I do?' Stella wondered. 'Coro needs a way to get more power. He might be immune to fire and heat, but we don't know how he'll hold against this guy.' Stella tried to think of a way to help Coro defeat this guy. Coro might not be able to devour Korog's element. When she thought about that, something came to her. "That's it! Coro! I think I got something for you that can help!"
"Say what?" Coro questioned as he turned to her. Stella held out her hand and unleashed some moonlight at Coro.
"Devour my moonlight." Stella said.
"What?!" Coro questioned. "I can't!"
"You have to. I remember Nashi was able to devour an element that wasn't hers. If she can, surely you can." Stella said to motivate him. When he put it like that, Coro opened his mouth and tried devouring the moonlight.
"That's absurd. A dragon slayer can't devour any outside element." Korog claimed, but he was proven wrong when he saw something happened. Coro's body began to change as parts of his body began to radiate with moonlight. Coro was able to devour the moonlight and became even stronger.
"You're in trouble now." Coro claimed. "Solar Moon Dragon Mode!"
"What is this? A dragon slayer shouldn't be able to use two elements like that?" Korog questioned.
"You think so? Looks like you were just proven wrong!" Coro said as he held out both his arms and had sun power in one and moon power in the other. "Let me show you what it can do!" He combined the two powers and blasted Korog with it in an intense blast of light. Korog was pushed back from the attack. He never experienced something like that before.
"Awesome! That's some power he's got!" Ranko said.
"I knew that would work." Stella said.
"Hang on. Why didn't you just step in the fight? You're perfectly fine." Ranko said.
"Coro wants to to finish this fight himself. I simply believe he can do that." Stella said. With Coro having this kind of power, he might be able to.
"I don't know what this power is, but you still can't defeat the likes of me." Korog claimed.
"Let's find out!" Coro said as he charged right at him. He smashed his fist right against Korog and was able to smash through his armor and created an opening.
"Impossible!" Korog said as no one has ever done that before.
"This is the power of the sun!" Coro said as he smashed one arm against Korog and caused it to burn. "This is the power of the moon!" He used his other arm and blasted Korog with an intense blast of the moon. He was starting to break through Korog's armor and was dealing some damage.
"This is impossible!" Korog claimed. "No one has ever been able to break through my armor! Why isn't his arms burning off?!"
"Magma might be a powerful force, but the sun and moon can be just as powerful." Coro claimed as he held out his arms and positioned his fingers like they were a set of teeth. "In reality, there's nothing more powerful than a dragon that holds a lion's courage. Solar Moon Dragon Flash Bite!" Coro unleashed a powerful blast. A spiral of sunlight and moonlight with it taking the form of a dragon. Korog didn't back down from the attack. He grabbed a hold of the dragon by the teeth, but it didn't stop the attack. Korog was lifted off the ground. He tried his best to hold off the attack but it was an intense attack. Soon, a large explosion went off.
"Did he get him?!" Ranko said as they tried to block out the light. They all waited for the light to fade away. When they did, they were a little shocked to see that Korog actually lost an arm in that blast.
"This...can't be happening." Korog said as he was having trouble standing now.
"You blew his arm completely off!" Stella said as they were all shocked.
"That's more power than even I thought." Coro said.
"It would seem...that this is it for me." Korog said.
"Say what? Are you giving up?" Coro said. It was then that he noticed all the blood that was flowing out of him from that wound.
"It would seem that you've put an end to my misery." Korog said.
"Misery?" Coro questioned.
"I've lived for hundreds of years." Korog said. "I gave into the idea that I would never be human again. We lost our humanity, but it seems that you somehow managed to avoid that fate. I admit that I wish that I was that fortunate, but I gave in when I became a dragon. The truth of the matter was that I always hated it."
"You and your buddies plan to revive the dragons. Where exactly did you plan to go if that actually happened?" Coro questioned. It was really the only thing that kept Korog going even when he killed his emotions and gave into misery.
"To a world where we could be accepted. Sapphron... I leave the rest to you..." Korog said before he dropped to the ground and his life faded away from him. Coro and the others couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He's lived for so many years and those years probably were ones of solitude and sadness. Too bad this was how it had to end for him.
...
Magnolia
This makes three dragon slayers who had their century long journeys ended. Even though they are dragon slayers that have lived for so long, they are not invincible. Despite all that, Fairy Tail is unaware of this news yet and is just going on until they do hear about the enemy. That is why Nashi is focusing on her own problem as she walked through the streets of Magnolia. She looked ahead and spotted Drake, but a bunch of girls were around him and trying to get him. Since he and Nashi are keeping things secret, the women think he's up for grabs. When he did look in her direction, she motioned for him to come over.
"Excuse me, ladies." Drake said as he tried to make his way to her with the other women backing off.
"I see you still kept your word with all those girls all over you." Nashi said.
"Come on, Nashi. You should trust me better than that." Drake said. "Are you jealous or something?" He teased. "I'm keeping what we're doing a secret, but don't get upset with me if those women jump me for thinking I'm single." Nashi got serious as she has decided something.
"Listen, Drake." Nashi said. "I think it's time we settle things between us. I want to see if what we have could actually be the real thing. I need to see for myself if we could really be a couple or if what we're doing is just me being crazy or something."
"What are you saying? How do we do that?" Drake asked. Nashi blushed, but she sucked it up and said what she needed to say.
"I'm saying I want to go on a real date with you, Drake." Nashi claimed.
