Soon Link was leading the Straw hats down Lovely Street on Angel island. Conis had agreed to show them to her old waver docked at the port. The street was quite wide with bustling shops displayed everywhere. Arched clouds and hills overlooked the area, there was even a cloud spiral going up some of the buildings. As soon as Luffy tried to snatch some the strange fruits on display all of the shopkeepers hurried away and started whispering amongst themselves.
"Are they avoiding us?" Usopp asked
Link nodded "They have to be careful otherwise they might receive the same punishment." Link said sadly.
"Aw, the angels are all avoiding me." Sanji pouted.
Luffy just laughed "This is great the town center is totally empty."
"I just hope the ship doesn't get damaged worse than it was we've been pretty hard on her lately." Usopp thought aloud.
Soon they had gathered around the large statue of vearth in the middle of the square. It was a winged woman clasping her hands in prayer.
"That's vearth constructed to look like the ancient Godess Hylia." Link explained as the others stared.
"Huh?! I've never heard of that before." Luffy said making a face.
"It's an old legend my fiend Zelda could tell you more." Link replied pointing the way to the wharf.
"Is she as lovely as this Goddess?" Sanji asked dancing around excitedly.
"Ah, we're here." Link said awkwardly not answering the question.
Ahead of them was a super fancy gondola with a veranda. Next to it was a boat shaped like a crow with a much smaller mast.
"This is my waver I used it when I was learning to ride it has two wind dials, please use it!" Conis said nervously. Pointing to the crow shaped one to the disappointment of Luffy.
"Hey Conis, ever since we left your house you've been shaking. How come?" Luffy asked.
Conis started to look scared glancing around the empty area.
"Guys!" Link interrupted "She did not have a choice, did you?"
"Hey, you're all pale if you were scared you should've said something." Luffy said.
"No! I didn't I'm sorry. Don't you think its strange that I would lend you, my boat? It's almost as though I'm leading you to your doom. "Conis cried.
There was a long awkward pause as a crowd of people peeked around one of the corners.
"Please run away. I was the one who summoned the special lobster express! If a citizen of skypia knows that someone is a criminal and doesn't lead him to the punishment site that citizen is killed! Please forgive me! Isn't it insane? This whole place is insane!" Conis tearfully yelled.
Everyone stared for a shocked moment. "I already could do nothing when Enel arrived, I follow Ganfar everyday to find out what really happened. And in truth I'm just looking for the opportunity to rebel. I swear I'll try to protect you Conis. "Link smiled at Conis patting her on the shoulder in support.
Conis smiled weakly as Luffy exclaimed "Dummy, you had no choice, right? So why did you just tell us that? Everyone yelled together. "Now you're in trouble!"
The crowd muttered to themselves as the air started to smell like ozone and the sky darkened around the area. Electricity sparked against Luffy's skin as a beam of pure energy exploded as he tried to leap away.
The area cleared of smoke leaving a gaping hole in the clouds. Luffy, Conis, and Link had disappeared.
"Where did she go? Luffy! Conis, Link!" Usopp and Sanji yelled.
"Don't worry about your friends! Entrust this girl to me. Ganfar announced flying on Pierre carrying all three people. I will not allow Eneru to harm her. Now you know Eneru's true power. It's one of the reasons I cannot act right now." He said staring at Link for a moment as the boys got down.
"I could care less about this country my friends are on the God's island! Luffy exclaimed.
"This is my chance to chase my dream!" Link joined.
"I see may luck be with you!" Ganfar flew away as Conis whispered to him "I know who you are everybody knows. Please come back to us God."
Soon Luffy, Sanji and Usopp were all sitting in the waver observing the large forest they could see from the high curve of the cloud river. Link was sitting on crimson on the little veranda of the boat deciding not to fly for now. If he flew too much, he was sure Eneru would decide to act too early. The man was arrogant enough to ignore a few intruders though.
"There's the entrance! We're going in!" Luffy shouted excitedly ignoring the ominous skulls set up on spears and shields as a warning.
"The first part should be pretty easy we disabled most of the traps just the other day, we just have to look out for the flesh-eating lampreys." Link explained.
Usopp freaked out a little at hearing that but prepared his slingshot in earnest. Luffy somehow managed to hang himself on the front prow of the boat. Sanji casually watched behind them smoking another cigar. Link in the meantime looked out to point out any dangers that were not there before.
With the traps disarmed it was easy to shoot and punch away any of the lampreys that ventured too close. It was a matter of just a few minutes to where the ground spotted four different tunnels leading to various locations.
"We don't have time for this the challenge of the ball is the shortest way to the altar, the challenge is not as easy as it sounds though we'll have to face one of the priests, Satori. He uses dials and explosives as weapons I'm not sure what the others are capable of. And I'd rather leaver Shura of the string challenge to be dealt with on my own." Link pointed the way forward having scouted the area before. "Hang on there's a big drop coming up." He shouted just in time as the tiny waver dropped of the edge of the river.
At the same time Zorro was fighting off a skyshark from Robin, Chopper and Nami. The fish swallowed the man whole and disappeared under the clouds.
"Zorro's Been eaten!" "He's not coming up! Chooper and Nami shouted.
"If he'd been eaten the clouds would have turned red. "Robin calmly replied.
"That's a gruesome thing to say Robin!" They yelled back.
There was a long pregnant pause as they waited for any sign of their friend before Zorro came back up his sword slicing the beast way. "What a pain!" he scoffed at the weak monster. "There's no way we can swim to the shore in this place, geez." He puffed. Doffing a pair of goggles, he had tried using them see while he attempted to swim to shore.
The group had found themselves at a giant altar in the middle of the vast jungle.
"We could have used the lobster, but you knocked that thing out with one fist." Nami commented peaking at Zorro's bare chest as wringed his wet shirt out. He had an old scar slicing diagonally across his shoulder all the way down to his mid-torso, from fighting the world's greatest swordsman he had sworn to defeat Dracule Mihawk.
"I wonder if Heaven's punishment is starving to death on the altar." Robin commented in her usual deadpan fashion examining the Going Merry for damage. "Unfortunately, the hull is too badly damaged to sail out of here. We'll have to make repairs."
"I'll help in anyway I can!" Chopper cutely exclaimed smiling.
"Let's make a plan then we have to get into the forest. This will be our base because I'm sure the others will come looking for us. You know what they say if you get lost stay where you are." Zorro too charge.
"You have no room to talk about getting lost why are we leaving then?" Nami shouted. Zorro was famous for getting lost all the time.
"I'm sure that God guy is here somewhere. I want to go talk to him." Zorro said
"No what would you say to somebody that scary? I bet your stronger than this God." Chopper asked.
"No You can't make the God mad, and there are the vassals to worry about too! Don't you know better then to anger the Gods?" Nami asked in concern.
"Sorry but I don't pray to the Gods so I don't owe them anything. It all depends on his attitude but from what I've seen he needs a talking to." Zorro smirked with confidence.
"Dear God I don't know this guy." Nami whispered hoping they were too small for the God to deal with.
"Can I come with you? Look at this altar it must be a thousand years old. I think there might be more relics like this. Who knows what's out there? There might be valuable artifacts or jewels." Robin explained.
"I'm going too." Nami suddenly had beri signs in her eyes
"Sure, we can use that vine to get across don't slow me down." Of course, Zorro let out a manly yell when he used the vine himself as was tradition.
Robin had to help Nami by catching her with blooming hands so that they could get across.
"Okay Chopper, guard the boat! We'll be right back." They shouted over the river.
"I'm too scared to go those guys are so brave, I wonder if I'll ever be brave like that? There are things for me to do! I must guard the ship in this dangerous place all alone. Wait... I'm in more danger than they are!" Chopper realized after muttering to himself.
