"Finally got rid of her." Lena said. "Finally, I can do it. Finally-"

She suddenly froze, then screamed. Her amulet glowed viciously, then it became obvious as to what happened.

That whole time, it wasn't her. It never was her that planned all this.

It was the amulet.

"What just happened?" Lena instantly freaked out.

"Relax." A voice replied, quite calm. "You're not in any danger."

"Who are you, and why are you speaking in my head?" Lena asked frantically.

"The name's Malum." It said. "Nice to meet you."

That clearly didn't help as Lena was still surprised and shocked about something inside her mind. Malum decided to explain.

"Look, you're not going to help yourself if I don't get a chance to explain."

"And what exactly do I get if you explain yourself?" Lena retorted.

"You'll understand. Now please listen..." The amulet then froze Lena once again, forcing itself to take over Lena's body.

Now taken control of the body, Malum began to explain - and weirdly enough, it was Lena's voice, not the masculine and intimidating voice.

"Thousands of years ago, in the Magical Realm, I was leading a rebellion against the self-proclaimed Master of the Realm, Salutaris. We ended up lost to their overwhelming force, and to punish us, Salutaris decided to banish us to a new realm known to magic users as the Shadow Realm. In fact, I saw you in the rebellion against Salutaris."

"Really?" Lena asked. "I don't remember anything back then. The only vain memory I acquired was my life in the Shadow Realm and how Magica, of all people, chose to cast me."

"I know you have a lot of questions, but let me explain."

"I don't get the privilege to be casted as a person like you do, but fortunately, the bonding of an ancient amulet led me to met your aunt's brother, Poe De Spell."

"My aunt has a brother?"

"Look, I don't like being interrupted, so can we do this later on?" Lena mentally went silent.

"As I was saying, when he knew that I bonded with the amulet, he and I formed a pact. Together, we would rule an entire kingdom. But Poe was lenient on whether or not his sister should go along with him."

"I reluctantly agreed that we would rule a small village along with Magica, and we would try to help her on ruling so that we can form a new kingdom in the near future. I knew for a fact that Magica De Spell is an insufferable brat, and she knows absolutely no damn thing when it comes to actually be a leader of the lineage for the future, never mind a small village. And I would soon to know that my observation was true all along."

"One day, the village we ruled soon won't contribute more to us, of course, of no small part was Magica at fault there. So we - and Magica - decided to cast shadows of the villagers and let those shadows give us their contribution instead. Unfortunately, Scrooge McDuck was there, and he wouldn't stop fighting against his own shadow on that 10 cents silver dime he owned."

"Magica decided that she would be an absolute idiot and fight him. When that backfired, Poe sacrificed his humble soul for her, turning himself into a raven. She didn't know a damn spell on how to turn him back, so he deported from the castle. Scrooge went away."

"From there, my grudge grew as she merged the amulet and her amulet into one. She went all the way to find Scrooge and act upon on her vengeance. However, her insignificance and the lack of intelligence must come to an end as she once again forgot the power of Scrooge's dime. At her last resort she casted you."

"That's where I came in. The amulet she left for you, this exact amulet, was once her brother's. Over the past twelve years I've been trying to study about you, how you talk, how you act. And when the time is right, I've exact my revenge, by just imitating your actions."

"So... where is Magica?" Lena nervously asked.

"Oh, she's dead." Malum casually replied. "Her own magic backfired against her."

It noticed Lena's silence. "Not a surprise really. She deserved it to be honest with you."

"Hey, look at the bright side, at least you're free now."

"Actually, no, I'm not." Lena spoke out. "You are still in my mind. You are still able to control my body. So in fact, it's just a switch in power. Nothing has changed."

"You don't understand." Malum replied. "All I did was to only help you. I actually was going to offer a partnership."

"I don't see the mutual benefit we're going to have." Lena was getting suspicious.

Malum went silent for a moment.

"Either I left you at the state of you participating in a terrorist organisation and your best friend exposing your connection with Magica De Spell, or we partner up and your cover will be safe under my influencing skills." It threatened.

"Blackmailing Webby's trust on me, that's too far." Lena began to take action.

"There's no use. If you do so you'll risk it anyways. Besides, you'll never know how similar we are after all."

Lena reluctantly agreed. She knew this was a fight she could never win.

"Now, tell me about her brother." Lena urged.

"Alright, then I'll tell you our next move."

oOo

There was a knock on Dewey's studio when he was about to film his next episode for Dewey Dew-Night.

"I'm a little bit busy right now, could you leave me a letter instead?"

"Dewey, this is urgent." The voice at the door said.

"Webby?"

He opened the door and Webby immediately silenced him.

"Don't talk, follow my lead." She said.

They went upstair to find a blank bedroom that no one uses. Webby opened the door.

"Alright, you can talk now." Webby said as she locked the door.

"What's so urgent that you have to go all the way and force me to cancel my Special Episode on the recent fight?" Dewey asked, confused at Webby's sudden secrecy.

"I need your help." Webby replied. "But you can't tell anyone. Not even Huey and Louie."

"Okay, I won't tell them."

"Promise me."

Dewey hesitated. "I promised, I won't tell anyone." He said.

"Not even Huey and Louie?"

"Not even Huey and Louie."

"Alright, with that out of the way..." Webby looked around for a moment, then she continued. "I need you to trust me."

"I mean, I've always trusted you, so... go ahead." Dewey replied.

"Louie was right." Webby began. "He was right about Lena, all along."

Silence. Then at last Dewey broke the silence.

"WHAT?!"

"Yeah. I'm not joking at all." Webby replied.

"But... surely... that can't be..." Dewey lost on track for a moment. "Wait, you actually heard what Louie said?"

"Granny made sure I know how to listen to people on far range." Webby plainly explained. "Though I dismissed it as I thought Louie was a teeny weeny paranoid. But yeah, I was proven later to be absolutely wrong."

"What did you discover?" Dewey asked.

"Turns out Bradford and those corporate vultures are psychopaths and they have been working intensively with Lena the whole time." Webby replied. She struggled a bit, as the information to take in was hard to digest. "They... tortured me into helping on their cause."

The hard face Webby made did nothing to help what was eventually going to come. She burst out crying.

"Hey, Webby, hey." Dewey tried to comfort her. "It's okay, it's okay. You did the right thing."

"It's not easy on telling anyone about this." Webby replied, as tears were still dropping. "I can only trust you on this."

"I'm going to get you tissues, alright?" Dewey was worried that the situation would go worse. "Just wait here."

As Dewey left to get her tissues, she started to go back on the spiral of the torture she was forced into just a few days ago. It was absolutely horrifying for Webby to continue remembering those events. But she had no choice. She had to work undercover for F.O.W.L., at least for now, until she got what she needed to know - the one piece of information to know who actually was her parents, at least, according to Bradford.

Dewey came back with the tissues. "Here, Webby, just take all you needed to take."

"Thanks, Dewey." Webby softened a little.

"We're a team, right?" Dewey said. "We'll stick together no matter what. So, what do you say?"

Webby smiled. She knew it was the right choice to tell him after all. "Yeah, let's do it."

"We would need someone else to help us though..." Dewey thought.

"How about Violet?" Webby got an idea. "She's really good at magic stuff and she's a good thinker too."

"You mean the person you met at the library just a few days ago?" Dewey asked.

"Yeah."

"Then come on, let's get to her house."

oOo

"Very compelling story, I may say." Lena chuckled.

"It was meant to be factual, but alright." Malum replied, unamused at her remark on the story.

"Alright, how about we get started on the plan then?"

"Certainly, certainly." It began.

"But first, I need you to be sure that you no longer have a personal contact line with Webbigail Vanderquack."
