Thanks to Raio, Keenan took a lot of damage and put the fight in Fairy Tail's favor. That's what it seemed like at least. Nova thought she could handle the fight from here, but Keenan pulled a surprise as he turned into his dragon form. He had a muscular figure for a dragon with his scales bright yellow and his eyes were bright red.

"His dragon form...?!" Nova said as she wasn't sure what to do about this.

"Unreal..." Sasha said. Seeing something like this is still a shock.

"Having second thoughts about wanting to fight me now?" Keenan taunted. Nova was a little anxious about fighting a dragon, but she knew she had to pull through. She remembered an important lesson she learned in the guild. It doesn't matter how tough the enemy is or even what the enemy is. Time to see if there's really any merit to that lesson.

"Nova..." Sasha said as she could see Nova was anxious about this.

"Still going to try and fight me? That is not making you brave. That is just making you plain stupid." Keenan claimed.

"I'm a dragon slayer. I have to be the one that defeats you." Nova said. She tried attacking him, but Keenan acted faster than she could. He discharged some energy and tried pushing Nova back despite her trying to absorb the power. That held a lot more power than what she was use to. Just as she was able to endure that, Keenan swung his claw at Nova. Nova got swatted away like a tiny fly and ended up crashing through a piece of the ruins.

"Nova!" Sasha called as that didn't look good. Nova did get seriously hurt, but she's doing her best to endure the pain.

"I was actually there during the Dragon King Festival." Keenan claimed. "I actually fought dragons. I can tell just by looking at you that you never faced something like me before. The difference in our power is where mine greatly towers over yours, Nova. You can see that now, can't you?" He was right about that. Nova took a lot of damage from that attack and was rather difficult to get back up.

'I think that was just a gentle touch. Any stronger, even a little, and every bone in my body could have broken. I was pretty lucky just now.' Nova thought, but she's starting to lose sight of defeating this enemy. She doesn't know how to defeat the likes of him.

'I've got to do something to help her, but what?' Sasha wondered as she felt completely useless. 'Even my own personal Jupiter Cannon wouldn't be enough against the likes of that. What do I do?' It wasn't looking good for the girls at all. Raio's little sacrifice appears to have been for nothing, Nova might be overpowered, and Sasha felt like she can't do a thing.

"Do you see now? This is the power of true dragon slayers." Keenan claimed. "We might be cursed to take these forms, but our power is greater than you could ever imagine. Dragons are considered the most powerful beings in this world, and now I have that kind of power. If a dragon slayer can't stand against a dragon, what good are you?" He tried to press down on the despair with Nova, but Nova refuses to surrender.

"I can't..." Nova said as she got back up. "I can't allow myself to surrender. There's too much on the line." She might not know what to do to defeat him, but that's no reason for her to just throw in the towel.

"Do you honestly believe you can defeat me now?" Keenan questioned.

"I can and will." Nova claimed as she was able to stand on her feet and still held a determined look in her eyes.

"Only a fool would continue on like this and that's exactly what you and your friends are." Keenan said. "Why would you continue taking on an opponent that you can't defeat?"

"You don't know that." Nova said. "In Fairy Tail, we continue to fight opponents that seem stronger than us because we all have something to fight for." She says that because she never forgot this one moment that helped her shape into the fighter she is today.

Flashback

"Beautiful view, Nova?" Laxus said as he had Nova sitting on his shoulders. Back when Nova was a young child, Laxus took her out to show her something. They watched a view of the sun setting and it looked gorgeous.

"It is. How come Mommy and Damien aren't here to see this?" Nova asked.

"Damien might be too young to remember this." Laxus said. "Besides, I just wanted to share this with my little girl. Plus, Mommy would just give me grief on being a big softie. I do got a reputation to protect." Laxus stared off into the sun with Nova memorizing the view herself. "When I look at this, it makes me think of all the hard times I went through. It reminds me of all that I fight for."

"What do you mean, Daddy?" Nova asked.

"Well, I wasn't such a nice guy when I was younger." Laxus claimed. "However, I did it all for the guild; that's what I told myself. Nova, the reason the guild is so strong is because we all have something to fight for. We fight for our friends, our family, and I now have a new reason: to see this view again with you and the rest of my family."

"I still don't know what you're talking about." Nova claimed. "I don't like fighting, Daddy. I don't want to see others hurt each other."

"That's fine. Wendy is like that herself. In fact, it makes you more like Mommy, but she's still willing to fight. Maybe you just have to find your reasons for fighting." Laxus claimed. "I certainly don't want to see any harm come to you or anyone in the guild. That's why I fight. Even if you don't like fighting, you could still become a powerful wizard. In fact, I think you'll be just like Mommy. You'll be as powerful as you are beautiful."

"You really think so?" Nova asked. "Are you telling me this for when I takeover the guild?"

"That's entirely up to you." Laxus said. "I'm just telling you this because I know you're a kind person, but one of these days you might have to get in a fight. That's what happens in this guild. When you remember this view, remember those words." Nova might have been young and didn't understand, but she never forgot the sunset. Since she remembered the beautiful setting sun, she remembered those words.

End of Flashback

...

Nova may have been the type that didn't really like fighting before, but she found those reasons to fight. She had friends that helped her out when she needed it, she had a little brother she loved and took care of, and a guild that was a part of home. That sunset had another precious memory that she wants to fight for. It was also where Raio proposed to her when she showed him the sun.

"I have so much to fight for." Nova said. "I know what you were trying to tell me, Dad. There are people, memories, and much more that I want to protect and see once more." When one is faced with possible death, you begin to see how precious those memories and the people are. She doesn't want to lose any of them. Those intense emotions caused something to burst out of Nova. Power course through her body and erupted like a volcano as yellow-colored power shot straight into the sky with a mighty scream.

"Nova!" Sasha called as she was concerned, but soon remembered that she saw that before. They all looked into the sky and saw a brand new dragon was forming. This new dragon was female with bright yellow scales and a slender figure for a dragon. She had spikes running down her back and the tip of her tail was shaped like a bolt of lightning. For a dragon, she looked glamorous.

"My name is Raijina. I was formed from Nova to aid her in battle."

"It's true! This new generation of dragon slayers really can create new dragons!" Keenan said as he and the others were amazed at what Nova just did.

"Did I really create her?" Nova questioned.

"Indeed you did, Nova." Raijina said as she landed down and lowered her head to Nova. "I am here to help you and your friends defeat this enemy. Climb on and let's fight together." Nova wasn't sure what to think of all of this, but she felt like she could trust this strange dragon. She climbed on her head and was lifted into the air.

"This is... I don't know how to describe this incredible feeling." Nova said. "Is this how Nashi felt when she summoned her own dragon."

"Better hold on tight." Raijina said as she took to the sky with Keenan following her.

"You're a new dragon, huh? Let's find out how tough you really are." Keenan said. Keenan flew straight at Raijina, but Raijina caught him and bit on his neck.

"Don't forget that I'm still here!" Nova said as she got close to Keenan's face and smashed her fist against him. Raijina pushed down on Keenan and caused him to smash against the ground, but he was able to kick her off.

"Do you really think some newly created dragon can defeat a dragon that's been alive for centuries?" Keenan said.

"We're about to find out." Raijina claimed as she charged right at him. She tackled Keenan and was pushing him back. Nova helped out as she jumped and got right in his face again. She struck down on his snout like lightning and did some damage.

"Get off!" Keenan shouted as he was able to push them off and took to the sky once again. Nova looked up and might have spotted an opening for her. "I'll turn everything here into dust!" Reaching the limit of his patience, Keenan discharged lightning from his entire body and it struck around the whole area.

"Raijina, can you absorb electricity like me?" Nova asked.

"Of course." Raijina said.

"Fly straight under him!" Nova said.

"As you wish." Raijina said as she did what she said. Nova and Raijina flew straight up and under Keenan. The lightning didn't even stop them. They took all that power as they smashed right against him.

"It's useless!" Keenan claimed as he thought he could win, but he noticed something with Nova. She wasn't just absorbing all that power, she was converting it into pure magic and was gathering it around her fist.

"Right here, his underbelly, seems to he where the scales are at their weakest." Nova said as she saw a spot to end this.

"No! It can't be! She's doing what I could not! How can she surpass me?!" Keenan questioned just before Nova struck hard against him and knocked the wind and everything else right out of him. Nova has struck down like lightning harder against this guy than what he could generate.
