Nashi thought she was gaining the upper hand against Sapphron when she called on her etherious power to help fight. It seemed like it was going well until Sapphron decided to unleash his full fury by calling on Dragon Supremacy. After getting hit by a strong attack, Nashi was starting to see what she was really up against.

"What the hell is this?" Nashi questioned as she stared at Sapphron's new form.

"This is a power that I created myself." Sapphron said. "It's a power that is stronger than Dragon Force. Your strange powers are certainly interesting, and they do make you stronger, but my powers can't be topped."

"We'll see about that!" Nashi said as she kept trying to fight him. She kept trying to strike him, but he blocked each one of the attacks. Sapphron was overpowering Nashi again as he drove his fist against Nashi's gut. He gave her a powerful uppercut and sent her flying straight through the hole in the ceiling. Sapphron used his wings to chase after her. This wasn't looking good for her at all.

"She's getting beaten around again! Is there really nothing we can do to help her?" Gale said.

"Not until we do something about her." Sasha said as she turned to Sharell. "The problem is that she's outside the barrier and we can't seem to reach her. There must be something we can do to break this barrier." 'This magic is rather tricky. She must have been the reason Elfaude had so much trouble finding these guys for all these years.' She thought.

"There's nothing you can do. Your friend doesn't stand a chance against Sapphron now." Sharell claimed. "All that is left is to wait for him to finish her." None of them liked the sound of Nashi being defeated, but it seems like that might happen. Nashi was blown all the way outside, but she was able to regain her posture and flew in the air.

'He's got some serious power to him now.' Nashi thought. She looked down and saw Sapphron flew straight at her like a rocket. She moved out of the way and barely avoided him in time. "Watch where you're flying!"

"Can't keep up?" Sapphron taunted as he flew back around and landed another strike on Nashi. Nashi tried to fight back as she flew at him. She tried to land a strike of her own, but Sapphron avoided her attack and landed another one against her. She still wasn't backing down. The two of them kept going at each other as they kept attacking in the air, but Sapphron was on the winning side of it. When Nashi came at him again, he moved aside and grabbed her leg. She tossed down with some great strength behind it.

'Damn it!' Nashi thought as she wasn't liking how this fight was going. 'Where's all this power coming from? He was strong before, but this power is unreal.'

"There is nothing you can do!" Sapphron mocked as he flew down at her and blasted her with an intense blue flame. It knocked Nashi all the way down to the mountain and crashed into the ground. She tried getting back up, but Sapphron crashed into her and pushed her through the ground. They ended up back in the cavern with Nashi getting thrown against the ground.

"Nashi!" Nova called as she and the others were concerned about her. Nashi tried her best to get back up, but it wasn't looking good for her at all. Sapphron stood over her like it was clear all along that Nashi really never stood a chance against her.

"Just give this up, Nashi. What's even the point in continuing?" Sapphron said. "If you stop this foolishness and agree to help me, we can stop this right now."

"How stupid are you?" Nashi said with Sapphron getting annoyed with her resistance. "Even if I were to agree to that, you spell could still kill me. I'm a hybrid that's part human. No telling what your spell would do to me. Besides, I would never betray my friends just to preserve myself." Nashi was staying as strong as she could, but Sapphron sighed with annoyance with all of this.

"I tried being merciful." Sapphron said. "I gave you a chance to just walk out of this and leave it be, but you continue to stand against me. I won't allow anyone to do that. You still try to stand in our way and foil our plans. It would seem that there's nothing I can really do. The only thing I can give you...is death." Seeing as how there's nothing Sapphron can do or say to persuade Nashi to surrender, but also not being to give up on his own goals, killing Nashi is the only thing he can really do.

"Go ahead and just try to kill me." Nashi dared as she wasn't intimidated by his threat. She looked towards her friends. Despite how they're trapped, she believes they can find the way. "My friends will be what stops you if I can't."

"Nashi!" Sasha called and got Nashi's attention. "What are you saying?"

"Don't worry, Sasha." Nashi said as she smiled like everything was going to be okay. "I believe it will all work in my "heartful" of hearts." Sasha didn't quite get what she was saying, but she knows there's some hidden meaning in there.

"Well, I say this is nearly over." Sapphron said as he was ready to finish it.

Crocus

Over at Crocus, Laxus and Queen Hisui kept an eye on the pillar of light. Nothing much appears to have changed, but there isn't much they can do.

"I can't take this anxiety anymore." Hisui said. "Shouldn't we do something? We should be heading over there and do something about this threat."

"I'm sure Nashi and her friends have things handled. Besides, sounds like we have other problems to worry about." Laxus claimed as he heard something. He looked down at the streets and saw something bad was happening. People were starting to drop to the floor as they all appeared to be in pain.

"What's happening?!" Hisui said as she was fearful at what she was seeing.

"It looks like those with little to no magic power are suffering." Laxus said. "Elfaude was right. This spell is going to kill every human in Fiore and people like that are just the start."

"What do we do?!" Hisui said.

"We need to gather all the people we can. Maybe there's some sort of defense we can use. We've got to try and save as many people as we can." Laxus said. "We'll have to move fast because it's only a matter of time until this spell gets all of us."

"Agreed! I'm alerting everyone I can!" Hisui said as they got to work. Everyone one who could still move were gathering as many people as they could to try and save them. If Fairy Tail goes down with the country, they'll at least go down with a fight. Meanwhile, in another part of Crocus, Lucy stopped helping people for a moment when she felt something was off. She looked to the mountain on where that pillar of light was coming from and just had a feeling.

"Lucy? What's wrong?" Natsu asked.

"Just a bad feeling." Lucy said. When Lucy gets a bad feeling, it's usually about Nashi and that something bad is happening to her.

The Cavern

Nashi did the best she could to beat Sapphron, but it seems like he has Nashi completely overpowered now. She tried her best to fight back, but Sapphron was too fast and too strong for her. Nothing she tried was working against him. Her friends couldn't stand watching this and kept trying to figure out a way out, but it doesn't seem like there is one.

"Come on, Nashi! You've got to do something!" Gale cheered, but it was useless. Nashi was getting pummeled out there. Sasha couldn't stand seeing this herself. She tried to figure out what Nashi meant because maybe it was a clue to help her.

"What did she mean by her heartful of hearts?" Sasha wondered. She pondered on that until it came to her. Using her magic, she had her Heartful Sword appear right in her hand. "Is this what she was talking about? What makes her think I can use this to get us out of here?"

"You simply can't." Sharell said. "This fight is just about over. I would have to say that Sapphron is just wearing her down and is preparing to use Burn Out."

"Burn Out? What's that?" Nova questioned.

"It's another one of his powers as the Sapphire Dragon." Sharell said.

"No way it's going to work. Fire doesn't work on Nashi." Gale said as he was confident it would fail.

"You don't understand." Sharell said. "Burn Out is a spell that taps into a person's "inner fire" and burns it out. It's sort of like two different fires burning against each other and cancelling each other out. As soon as that spell connects, they'll reach inside the flames Nashi has inside her and consume them, burning them out. Normally, since she is a fellow fire dragon slayer, it is debatable if it would work. With the power of Dragon Supremacy to aid that spell, there's no way even her could survive."

"And what will happen to her if that happens?" Simon questioned, but he had a feeling he wouldn't like the answer.

"What happens to anyone who can't feel warmth. What do you think happens to a person in a snow storm when they have no warmth?" Sharell said. If this spell works and burns out Nashi's flames, Nashi will die. There was no way any of them could let that happen, but it doesn't seem like they can't it.

"No... No!" Sasha said as she pounded against the barrier and being forced to watch one of her closest friends get thrashed around. "We can't let that happen! There's got to be a way out!" Sasha is trying to figure out how they can do just that, but she's drawing a blank. She looked down at her sword and wondered what Nashi thought of when she mentioned it. "What did Nashi mean? How can this sword get us out?" Simon pondered about that himself until he thought of something, but didn't really like it.

"Wait a minute." Simon said. "You once told me that the Heartful Sword can't be stopped when it's used for someone you care for. Is that right?"

"That's right. I used it against Nyne a couple years ago." Sasha said. "I thought of you when my power was being drained and I could use it."

"What if that's what Nashi is talking about?" Simon said. "Maybe she's betting on you using that kind power to break this barrier."

"Are you serious? I don't know how to pull out that kind of power." Sasha said. "Besides, I would have to use intense emotions to unleash a power like that. I can just pull out intense emotions like that."

"I think you can...if you see a friend about to die." Simon said. When he said that, the rest of them began to see what Nashi was planning, but none of them liked it. "I think Nashi is going to put herself close to death so you can generate strong enough emotions to power that sword."

"No... No! That's crazy!" Sasha said.

"She can't really do something like that!" Nova said.

"Is she insane?!" Gale said.

"I don't think she would do this unless there was no other option. She must be putting it in our hands." Simon believed. None of them liked the sounds of this. Nashi always fought to the very end, but she never pulled something like that before.

"That makes no sense... Why would she do something like that?" Sasha said as she can't see any logical or emotional reason for that. It just sounded pure insane.

"Argh!" Hearing her scream, Sasha turned to her friend.

"Nashi!" Sasha called to her, but Nashi kept getting beaten around. She did her best to fight back, but Sapphron was too much for her. "She can't. You can't do this to us." Sasha couldn't handle what she was seeing as she dropped to her knees. "You can't seriously let this happen. You always fought to the very end. After all that we've been through, you really want it to end like this?" Sasha couldn't believe this. She saw herself how strong Nashi was. When Sasha acted so distant, seeing Nashi risk her life for Sasha's is what made her want to get closer to others. Nashi was one of the most dedicated and strongest fighters she knows. "She can't be serious. Was it all a lie? Are you really just throwing it all away like this?" Seeing it all end like that caused tears to roll down Sasha's face. She had a mixture of feelings and those feelings were all in her tears. When those tears hit her sword, it caused it began to glow. Nashi's crazy idea does appear to be working. "It can't end like that. Not after all that we've been through." Sasha refused to accept Nashi's death like that. Power was building in her sword and continued to build. Nashi gave it her best effort, but Sapphron had her beat. He readied the spell that is suppose to finish Nashi.

"Well, Nashi, I hope you found peace." Sapphron said as blue flames formed around his hands.

"It won't end like this!" Sasha claimed as she continued to build power in her sword. Sharell could sense the power in that sword and was getting nervous. If what she heard Simon said about that sword is true, this isn't going to go well for her. Sasha turned to Sharell and was about to break that barrier. "Get out of the way!" Sharell was getting nervous of that power as she could actually feel it on her side. When something is powered by the intense emotions for someone you care about, there really is no stopping it.

"I can't hold them anymore! Finish her, Sapphron!" Sharell called. Sasha swung her sword and unleashed great power from it that it actually did smash right through the barrier and freed the others, but it was too late.

"Burn out!" Sapphron used his spell as he clapped his hands. When he did that, a geyser of light and blue fire erupted under Nashi. Nashi could feel her "inner flames" going out. All of her friends looked to what happened to her and they were all shaken to the core. They couldn't even see her in that light until it faded away. When they could see Nashi again, she didn't look good. She reverted back to her normal form and had a blank look in her eyes. Her body fell back and dropped to the ground. The sound of her body hitting the ground echoed through the cavern. "The mighty fire dragon of the new generation is now no more."
