"I don't get why we have to go camping, especially with the big kids." Starlord said.
"You know Ms Sif, she thinks this'll be fun, when the big kids are goijg to be jerks especially as Ranger's grade is involved." Rocket muttered to him packing stuff for him and Groot plus had went off-campus to get candy and stuff for smores which impressed Drax and Gamora along with Starlord.
"I am Groot, I am Groot." Groot added.
"Yeah wecan prank Ranger, if he pulls anything." Rocket toldhim.
Mantis was very quiet while listening to her friends talking about the camping-trip excitedly compared to her, as she was anxious about the trip because she was afraid of the dark which only Rocket knew having the same problem hoping he packed flashlights unaware Groot noticed something was wrong as she was normally talkative, which Rocket noticed, wondering if she was okay.
"Go ahead, we'll catch up." he told them.
"Okay, but don't take too long." Drax said.
"Are you scared, about the camping-trip." Rocket asked.
Mantis's cheeks went pink at the furry youngster's question, feeling Groot squeeze her hand gently, understanding as she explained her anxiety to him, making him understand as he had packed flashlights plus Groot could do his firefly thing only Groot knew his best pal could function without sleep, but too long and his brain and cybernetics would mess up, something bad that Ranger could use realising his buddy should probably nap on the bus seeing Rocket glare at him at this.
"Naps are for babies, not tech-brains like me." Rocket told him yawning.
"I am Groot, I am Groot." Groot replied to him as they left to join the others.
The other Guardians were relieved seeing them, wondering what had happened, seeing a sleepy Rocket get on after Groot and Mantis so Groot and Rocket were sitting together but after the bus left, Groot noticed Rocket lie down out like a light relieving Groot hearing him sleep-talking making him grin relieved Ranger's grade weren't in the same bus as them, because Ranger would try to wake him and make his cybernetic brain tired to function so was watching him sleep hearing him purring making Mantis giggle because it was cute seeing Groot agreeing.
"That's good as he'll be back to normal, for all the mischief he'll cause." Starlord said.
"Yes as his brother's grade is camping with ours, so Rocket is prepared." Gamora told him seeing Drax agree.
When they got to the campsite, Ms Sif told the kids in her class to set up camp in their friend-groups relieving Rocket seeing Gwen, Groot and Mantis helping Rocket with their tent impressed by their teamwork seeing Rocket nod, hearing laughter knowing it was his brother's grade shaking his furry head.
They better leave us alone tonight or they're gonna get pranked majorly even if I get in trouble for it.
"What're you thinking in that brain of yours." Gwen asked him.
"Nothing don't worry about it." he told her making her sigh.
Ranger was on alert knowing that Rocket was probably up to something, so would be on alert hoping the teachers didn't know about this in case trouble ensued or he got in trouble instead of Rocket.
That night, Gwen, Groot, Mantis and Rocket were around the campfire with the other kids roasting marshmallows into smores unaware that Ranger had set off fireworks making them jump, and Groot was hiding on Rocket's shoulder, he didn't like fire which he understood reassuring him that Ranger would get in trouble for setting off fireworks.
"Why is he doing this, is he being mean." Mantis asked.
"Nope he's being a jerk, I got this." Rocket assured her.
