I don't own Star vs the Forces of Evil or its characters, but I only own Serena Butterfly and my other OCs.

Enjoy!

The Tale of the Lost Butterfly

Prologue

It was a dark and rainy day, but it didn't disturb the warmth within the Wilson Manor.

The front yard of the Wilson Manor had a water fountain and a gate while the house itself is two stories tall and appeared to be gigantic on the outside.

The manor was filled with various luxury decorations and appliances made from animals. This included a wall of taxidermy animals and a chandelier made of a couple of diamonds.

In the main hall over the fireplace on the stairwell was a portrait of the family members of the manor; Valen, Charlotte, Serena and Addison Wilson.

Addison held her rabbit toy in her arms as she and Valen sat on a velvet sofa, listening to Charlotte reading a story to them.

Valen was a man in his early 30s with dark orange hair, deep blue eyes and fair skin. He wore a long-sleeved cream yellow shirt, a grey vest, black trousers and dark grey shoes.

Charlotte Wilson was a beautiful woman in her late 20s with crimson long hair tied into a ponytail with a dark purple ribbon tied into a bow, red eyes and pale skin. She wore a pink short-sleeved jacket with a yellow undershirt, bright blue trousers and light green shoes.

Addison was a cute seven-year-old girl crimson hair that was styled into pigtails by pink ribbons with bangs going on either side and deep blue eyes. She wore a pale pink pyjama dress and pale blue socks with bunny pink slippers.

"…and they divided between them the great treasure which the dwarf had gathered together in his cave."Charlotte exclaimed. "The old mother lived peacefully and happily with her children for many years. She took the two rose-trees with her and they stood before her window, and every year bore the most beautiful roses, white and red."

Addison let out a yawn causing Charlotte and Valen to smile at her.

"Looks like somebody is tired."Valen chuckled.

"I am not tired, daddy."Addison yawned with a tired smile. "I can still remain awake for another story."

Addison yawned one more time before closing her eyes and falling asleep.

"Take her to bed, Valen."Charlotte chuckled. "I'll prepare dinner in the meantime."

Valen nodded and carefully picked up Addison before heading up the stairs to head to the hallway.

The hallway had old family portraits of relatives that belonged to the Wilson Family and formerly lived in the manor.

Valen opened the door to Addison's bedroom that was pink, frilly and had things that every little girl room would have such as a wardrobe filled with lovely clothes, posters and a toy chest filled with dolls and stuffed animals.

Addison was tugged to bed before Valen gives her a small kiss on the forehead.

"Good night, Addison."Valen declared quietly.

Valen placed off the light and quietly closed the door.

The man brought his attention to the room behind him and went inside to check on his older daughter.

Serena was in her room, resting on her bed while checking on her phone.

Serena was a fourteen-year-old girl with brownish-orange coloured chin-length bobbed hair with a cerulean blue dragonfly hair clip with light pink wings on it. She had sapphire blue coloured eyes, fair skin and bright purple rose shape marks on her cheeks. The white pyjama she wore was open collared, button-up and covered with red and yellow polka dots with matching pants. On her right hand there was a gold ring with a pink heart shaped gem on it that belonged to her late mother.

Her room was filled with rich colour and light; there was a shelf filled with books, windup white butterflies stickers that were held by string lights on the walls, a study desk and a small harp that laid beneath her blue leisure chair.

"Hey, Serena."Valen greeted.

"Hey, dad."Serena responded while looking on her phone.

"It's late you know, dear."Valen commented as he sat down on the bed. "And you got school tomorrow."

"I know."Serena assured as she typed on her phone. "I am just in the middle of texting Jackie and Leah."

"About what?"Valen questioned.

"It's a girl thing."Serena responded simply and then looked at her father. "Hey dad, may I ask you something?"

"Go ahead."Valen insisted.

"Am I weird?"Serena asked.

"What? Of course not."Valen responded in disbelief. "Why would you think that?"

"I don't know because of these marks on my cheeks."Serena replied, gesturing to the purple roses on her cheeks. "Addison doesn't have them. Only me."

"Everyone has trouble fitting in your age, sweetheart."Valen assured with a smile. "Your mum did and so did I."

"No way."Serena scoffed as she placed her phone on the small desk next to her bed. "You're a cool first-rate detective and mum was a peacemaker. I am…I don't know. I'm just me."

"Even if you are you, you are still a special girl, Serena."Valen assured and stroked Serena's hair gently. "We all love you just the way you are."

"I guess so."Serena replied and covered her mouth to yawn before resting on her pillow. "Good night, dad."

Valen chuckled lightly and kissed Serena on the forehead as she closed her eyes.

"Good night, Serena."Valen answered.

Valen stood up from Serena's bed and his smile saddens a bit as he left and quietly closed the door behind him.

The man walked back downstairs and found Charlotte has prepared exquisite meals in the dining room.

"Mm, that smells good."Valen remarked with a hint of excitement. "What's that?"

Valen reached out his hand, only for Charlotte to hit it with a ladle.

"Hands off, mister. It's bœuf bourguignon."Charlotte admitted. "It's a local recipe."

"Wow."Valen chuckled lightly. "You've gone full native, haven't you?"

Charlotte placed a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc wine on the table.

"Local wine, too."Charlotte complemented as she sat on the table with Valen. "But if you're going to keep sulking all evening, maybe you shouldn't have any. You really have to stop worrying."

Valen glanced at the photos on the fridge which showed Serena and Addison when they were both small.

"Addison's birthday will be here soon before we know it."Valen complemented with a smile. "Where did the time go?"

"They grow up fast."Charlotte chuckled. "Let's just enjoy it while we can."

Charlotte poured wine in two glass cups before Valen took a sip of his drink.

"Hey, Lottie."Valen said.

"Yes, Valen?"Charlotte asked.

"Do you like our life here in Echo Creek?"Valen questioned. "I mean it's not Mewni, but..."

Charlotte smiled and leaned forward to give her husband a small kiss on the lips.

"Of course I do and we are living together with the girls that is all that matters to me."Charlotte remarked. "And do you like living here?"

Valen looked down to stare at his reflection on his wine glass.

"I do a lot."Valen replied and became a bit sad. "Though there are still some things I can't never forget."

Charlotte placed her hand on Valen and gave him a warm smile.

"Whatever happens, we'll all face together."Charlotte assured kindly.

Valen smiled back at his wife.

"Yes."Valen agreed. "You're right."

Valen and Charlotte raised their cups together before they started enjoying their dinner together and completely ignoring the cold weather outside.

I'll make sure to make the next chapter longer!
