I don't own Star vs the Forces of Evil or its characters, but I only own Serena Butterfly and my other OCs.

Enjoy!

The Tale of the Lost Butterfly

Chapter 9: The Fashion Show

Serena was running to get to school in time.

The orange haired girl wore a white shirt with long black sleeves worn over a short-sleeved pink jacket, a red skirt and black white sneakers with light pink socks.

"It's Friday and I have to go to school while Addison's get an insect day!"Serena complained as she ran. "Why can't today be Saturday?!"

Serena stopped running when she stared at a poster of an upcoming perfume known as 'Euphoria'.

The perfume bottle was a shiny blue sphere surrounded by thick silver vine-like shapes, with the bottom of the bottle resembling the bottom of her special chair. The pump had silver butterfly wings and there was a translucent blue butterfly on the nozzle.

"What's this?"Serena asked and started reading the information in the poster. "Feeling down? Try Marigold Rossellini's Euphoria Perfume! It is like a new dress, but it makes you simply marvellous."

Serena sighed as she stared at the poster in front of her.

"If Marigold said to try it, then I will."Serena complemented and bowed her head in shame. "Just as soon as I have a free time from studying that is."

"Oh no! I'm late!"Leah panicked as she ran past Serena. "Get moving, Serena!"

"Relax!"Serena snapped. "I know!"

Serena and Leah made it to their history class just before the school bell started ringing.

"If my dad ever found that I was late, he is going to fine me."Serena muttered.

"He would make you pay?"Leah asked.

"No."Serena groaned as she lowered her head on the desk. "He would ground me by not letting me use my iPhone or play video games for a week."

"Ouch."Jackie muttered. "My uncle would only ground me for a day."

"My parents wouldn't ground me at all since I always arrive on time."Leah remarked.

"You two get all the luck."Serena yawned.

Star walked over to Serena, Leah and Jackie.

"Look guys!"Star instructed excitedly before showing the poster of Marigold's perfume. "I finally got the Marigold's perfume poster I wanted!"

"Hold on, Star."Serena said with a smirk. "You and Marco didn't just happen to have stolen that from the drugstore, right?"

"Marco ordered it at the internet."Star answered brightly.

Jackie took out her laptop to check information about Marigold Rossellini.

"Marigold Rossellini is the granddaughter of San Marino's prestigious Rossellini clan and the CEO of the Rossellini conglomerate, who runs the largest hotel chain in Italy."Jackie explained. "Her birthday is November 13th, so that makes her a Scorpio. She speaks numerous languages including Italian, French, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese and Turkish. Since debuting as a model at age 16, she's gone from fashion designer, model, actress and author. She's also the queen of the gossip columns with rumoured affairs with countless politicians, famous athletes and more."

"Not only that she's also a talented violinist and has an excellent sense of fashion."Leah added dreamily.

"Wow."Star complemented with a smile. "She sounds someone really amazing."

"Miss Rossellini is every girl's idol, Star."Serena remarked. "And inspires people to do their best."

Outside…

Addison was delivering ladybird scout cookies while carrying the small boxes in a red cart.

Addison wore a white shirt underneath a watermelon pink jumper and a dark pink skirt on it. She wore an pink beret with a red bow in the front. Her belt was red and she had a light purple accomplishment sash with three shaped patches consisting of a gold diamond and a teal oval from top to bottom. Her shoes were pink with purple laces. Her red hair was styled in two braided ponytails.

The little red haired girl knocked on the door and an old lady answered it.

"Hi, Mrs Webster."Addison greeted. "Would you like to buy some Ladybird Scout cookies?"

"My, I'll take ten boxes."Mrs Webster answered and patted Addison's head. "I can't resist such a cute and charming young ladybird scout."

Addison gives Mrs Webster ten boxes of cookies before the old lady gave her £30 pounds in return.

"Thank you."Addison giggled. "Have a nice day."

Addison began chanting the Laybird Scouts motto as she headed to her next destination.

"Loyal, kind, and true at heart!"Addison chanted. "A ladybird scout is a better friend, you'll never know!"

Addison continued walking in the streets until she arrived at the docks of Echo Creek.

"Just a few packages to sell and I am done for today."Addison remarked proudly.

Addison notice bottles with messages were being thrown into the sea.

The red haired girl notice a figure sitting at the end of the dock writing scone something on a piece of paper before putting it inside a bottle and throwing it into the ocean.

The female figure was a beautiful fourteen year old girl with a petite build pale complexion, light pink hair tied up in a ponytail that had thick strands of hair that falls next to her face and that also created bangs on her forehead, rouge red eyes and sky blue treble clef symbols on her cheeks. She wore a reddish-purple blazer with a dark blue tie, a reddish-purple tartan skirt and white tights with black shoes. On her left wrist was a red bracelet and around her neck was a gold chain necklace with a purple talisman hanging on it.

Addison dragged her cart forward to greet the girl.

"Hi there."Addison greeted. "Whatcha doing?"

"Writing fake emergency messages and throwing them into the ocean."the girl explained. "I'm just messing around like a game."

"Cool."Addison chuckled and sat down next to the pink haired girl. "Mischief is my middle name."

Addison took out a pencil to write something in a piece of paper before heading it to the girl.

"You have been pre-approved for the platinum experience with cash back rewards."the girl read with a small smirk and placed the message inside the bottle. "Not bad."

The pink haired girl then threw the bottle into the ocean as Addison extended her hand out to her.

"I'm Addison."Addison responded. "Addison Wilson."

"Hey."Astor replied. "I'm Astor."

Addison and Astor shook hands with each other.

"Are you new around here in Echo Creek?"Addison asked. "I never seen you around before."

"I go to Silver Hill Prep."Astor replied as she wrote on a piece of paper. "Though I recently moved to Echo Creek. I lived in Naples."

"You're from Italy?!"Addison said in amazement. "That is so awesome! What is it like there?"

"Cooler than Echo Creek."Astor answered with a small smile as she paused from writing. "It's a buzzing city with stunning architecture and characterful, generous residents. Did you know that the classic margherita pizza got its name from Queen Margherita Teresa Giovanni after she visited Naples in the late 19th century?"

"Whoa! I did not know that!"Addison remarked. "Naples sounds an incredible city to live in!"

"Heh, it has less tourism than other Italian cities but its royal palace is the largest and most visited structures in the city."Astor admitted.

Astor finished writing on a piece of paper and showed it to Addison.

"We have been trying to reach you regarding your cars extended warranty."Addison read and laughed a little. "That's a good one."

Astor then threw the bottle into the ocean before noticing Addison's cart of cookie boxes.

"Are those Ladybird Scout Cookies?"Astor asked.

"You got that right. I am actually the Ladybird Scouts' leader."Addison declared with a hint of pride. "The main favourites of our cookies are crisp vanilla wafers, butterscotch drizzle and toasted coconut crunchies. The other flavours I have are mini mints, choco-swirlies and cherry-nutties. Which one do you want?"

"I just ate a pirate plunderbar, but I'll buy two crisp vanilla wafers and three choco-swirlies."Astor suggested. "My brother have been craving for them."

Addison gives Astor the boxes of cookies before she received the cash from the pink haired girl.

"Oh, you have a brother?"Addison asked.

"He's around your age."Astor exclaimed. "But he has our mum's features unlike me."

"So you got your pink hair and red eyes from your dad?"Addison assumed.

"Yep."Astor agreed and frowned a bit. "Though our dad is not living with us because he is behind bars."

"Oh."Addison said in a low tone. "Sorry."

Astor lightly shrugged in respond.

"It's fine."Astor assured. "I don't let that effect me. I'm following my own path."

"Awesome."Addison complemented.

"If you're not doing anything tomorrow, come attend the Rossellini Fashion Show."Astor insisted as she handed out four tickets. "You can invite three people of your choice to come with you."

Addison stared at the four tickets in her hands in amazement.

"Whoa!"Addison squealed. "How did you get tickets for Marigold Rossellini's fashion show?! They're so expensive!"

Astor looked at Addison with a surprised look.

"Whoa, you don't know?"Astor questioned.

"Don't know what?"Addison asked.

"Never mind."Astor assured as she stood up. "See you tomorrow."

Addison watched Astor walk away with a confused look on her face.

The Next Morning…

Charlotte was serving food to waiting customers in her cafe.

The red haired woman wore her hair in a bun that was secured with a white headband with a small cherry pattern on it. She wore a dark grey blouse with a white collar, puffed sleeves with a thick white band just above her elbows and a button-up top with two white buttons, along with a light pink knee-length skirt. She also wore a white half-apron with the matching pattern on her headband and rounded edges, moderate vermilion polka-doted leggings and light fuchsia medium heeled-very deep blue dress shoes with pale, light greyish orchid soles.

"Another coffee drink for me, Lotte."A man said.

"Coming right up, Darlton."Charlotte responded as she filled the man's cup with coffee.

Serena and Kevin were sitting down working on their art project while Addison sat next to them drinking a strawberry cream milkshake.

The two teenagers were creating a tree trunk using newspapers and black paint to colour it before using reds, purples and oranges colouring pens for its tree leaves and different shades of green for the grass underneath it.

Kevin carefully used a carving knife to do some lines on the tree trunk to make it look a bit realistic.

"Whoa."Serena said in awe. "You're very talented in art, Kevin."

"Thanks."Kevin replied while blushing a bit. "But if you want to see real art, you should go to Paris and see my aunt's paintings."

"You have relatives in Paris?"Serena asked with a smile.

"Yeah, I'm actually French from my mother side."Kevin admitted. "Though my dad is Japanese."

"That is so cool."Serena remarked. "Can you say something in Japanese?"

"Okay."Kevin said in thought before responding. "Himawari no Kimi."

"What does that mean?"Serena asked.

"Himawari no Kimi."Kevin repeated. "It means Sunflower Princess. And you are born in August, right?"

Serena's cheeks warmed up at Kevin's reply causing Addison to frown a bit.

"Yes. I am born in August and I am a princess."Serena chuckled shyly. "Though I am only royalty through blood."

"That doesn't change anything."Kevin responded. "The hero Perseus fell in love with the beautiful Andromeda and he risked his life to protect her from monsters. In a way, your kind of like Andromeda."

"You're being too classic, Kevin."Serena replied. "I'm rather the 'princess' that prefers rescuing herself."

Serena and Kevin chuckled lightly as Valen carefully poked his head out in the doorway of the kitchen.

Suddenly, Charlotte grabbed Valen by the ear to drag him away from spying on Serena and Kevin.

"Ow! Ow! Ow!"Valen groaned in pain. "Ow! Ow! Ow!"

"I told you a hundred times that Kevin Maxwell is a good boy, Valen."Charlotte commented. "He's not those boys, who are only after one thing."

"As a detective, I should at least investigate him more and see if he's really suitable for Serena."Valen reminded.

"Then you should start first as not treating him as a criminal."Charlotte declared. "And preparing yourself for our dinner date tonight."

Serena sweat dropped at her parents' conversation before giving an embarrassed expression at Kevin.

"Sorry about that."Serena apologised. "My dad can be very overprotective of me sometimes since…well…"

"That's no problem, Serena."Kevin assured with a warm smile. "He cares about you and Addison too much."

"Do you have any siblings, Kevin?"Serena asked.

Kevin shook his head at Serena.

"I am the only child."Kevin exclaimed. "But I have three younger cousins that are triplets."

"Aw."Serena cooed. "Can I see a photo of them?"

"Sure."Kevin answered.

Kevin took out his black iPhone to show a photo of his triplet cousins to Serena.

"Their names are Edith, Mary, and Sybil."Kevin explained. "Edith is the one with the pink jumper with pigtails, Mary is the one in the middle wearing a yellow one with her hair tied in a ponytail and Sybil is the one in bright blue with a matching hair band. They recently turned five."

"They look adorable."Serena complemented.

"Yeah, but they are quite mischievous."Kevin admitted.

"Addison is exactly like that."Serena said with a smirk. "Though deep down she has a big heart."

Kevin smiled. "Just like you."

Addison had a frown of suspicion on her face as she drank her milkshake with a straw.

Suddenly, there was a beeping sound and Kevin took out his phone from his pocket.

"I gotta go."Kevin commented. "My uncle needs me."

"That's alright."Serena assured. "Then I'll see at school when we present out art protect."

"Right."Kevin agreed and stood up before taking his grey backpack. "See you later."

Kevin headed out of Lotte's Cafe before closing the door behind him.

Serena sighed dreamily as she felt her heart beat slowly in her chest.

A sound of someone clearing her throat caused Serena to notice Addison glaring at her.

"Something wrong, Addie?"Serena asked in confusion.

"Kevin is a dreamboat but he's too soft."Addison declared. "He should at least toughen up, if he wants to be your boyfriend."

"He maybe from a rich family, but he has a benevolent nature and often shy, though a bit reserved."Serena stated joyfully. "All the girls at my school want him for a boyfriend."

"I don't want that type of guy like him to be my boyfriend."Addison stated honestly and took a sip of her milkshake. "When I start high school, I want to date a guy, who is there for me when I need him and would trust him with all my heart. Trusting can be a way to express your love too."

Serena used her ring's magic to carefully put the art project in a glass dome before placing it in her backpack.

"Did you get that out of a book or something?"Serena asked in surprise.

Then the bell above the cafe's door opened causing Marco and Star came in.

"Hi guys."Marco greeted.

"Hi, Rena and Addison."Star replied.

"Hi, Marco and Star."Serena and Addison said in unison.

Marco and Star sat down to Serena and Addison as one of the waitresses walked over to them.

"Is there anything you guys want to eat?"the waitress asked.

"We would like to have Charlotte's famous macarons."Marco answered.

The waitress nodded and then walked away as Star glanced at Serena and Addison.

"What are macarons?"Star asked.

"What are macarons?"Addison repeated in surprise. "Only the most yummiest desserts that could ever exist in France! With a smooth ganache filling sandwiched between two meringue based shells! They're so good!"

"Though it was Parisian confectioners who originally created the 'Macaron Parisien' during the 1830s."Serena added.

The waitress brought a plate filled with warm baked macarons on the group's table for them to enjoy.

Marco, Serena and Addison started eating the macarons while Star picked up one of the small round cakes with a meringue-like consistency in confusion.

"Go on and try it, Star."Marco insisted while eating a peach macaron.

Star looked at the rose water buttercream macaron curiously and took a bite, only for her eyes to widen at its incredible taste.

Without any warning, Star hungrily ate the whole plate of macarons causing Marco, Serena and Addison to become shocked.

"These macarons are so fantastic!"Star declared happily. "We should eat more of these!"

Charlotte muted her giggle as she watched Star's energetic personality while Valen simply stirred his cup of cappuccino.

"Doesn't Star remind you of someone, Valen?"Charlotte asked.

"Who?"Valen questioned.

"She's just like Moon when she was her age."Charlotte remarked.

"Yeah, sure."Valen scoffed and took a sip from his cup. "Now former Mrs happy go-lucky girl has a low tolerance for anything messy or destructive and blames me for taking away her older sister figure."

Charlotte gives Valen a kiss on the cheek as she sat next to him.

"Don't take it too harshly."Charlotte complemented. "Just give her time to cool off. She can't stay mad at you forever."

Valen frowned and looked down at his reflection in his drink as Addison and Serena walked over to him.

"Hey, dad."Addison said excitedly as her father drank his coffee. "Guess what? I got tickets to see the Rossellini Fashion Show!"

Valen spat out his coffee in shock at hearing his youngest daughter's respond.

"What?!"Valen demanded.

"Addison got tickets to see my idol's fashion show, dad."Serena remarked and took out an Marigold photo book. "That means I can finally have her sign my photo book!"

"I got them from my new friend named Astor."Addison replied joyfully. "She gave me four tickets. One for me and the others are for Serena, Star and Marco. Can we go, pretty please?"

"I am not sure."Valen responded with an uncertain expression.

"Please!"Serena and Addison begged with adorable puppy eyes expressions.

Valen looked at his daughters' pleading faces and groaned in defeat.

"Fine. You can go to the Fashion Show."Valen commented. "But I'll come as well."

"Yes!"Addison and Serena cheered in unison.

Later that Evening...

At the beach there were people sitting down on chairs with Star, Marco, Serena, Addison and Valen among the audience that were waiting for the fashion show to begin.

Addison spotted Astor and Cody sitting down in the VIP side.

Cody was an eight year old boy with dirty blonde hair and violet purple eyes. He wore a red short-sleeved shirt, black shorts, white socks and brown shoes.

"There's Astor."Addison admitted. "The girl from Silver Hill Prep that I was telling you guys about."

Addison handed her binoculars to Serena, Star and Marco to use to check the pink haired girl and her younger brother.

"So that's Silver Hill Prep's new star student?"Marco said. "She's kind of cute."

"Does that you will stop hitting on Jackie Lynn Thomas, Mr Safe Kid?"Addison sneered.

Star and Serena laughed lightly while Marco's cheeks turned red in embarrassment.

"As if!"Marco snapped.

Cameramen started flashing their cameras as Marigold walked into the catwalk.

Marigold Rossellini was a woman around her 30s with striking beauty that had armpit length curly beeline honey hair with a mint ombre, bright purple eyes and fair skin. She wore a short, grey dress with black trimming and a black band at the waist and black heels.

"Is that..."Star started.

"How cool!"Serena whispered in delight. "It's Marigold in real life!"

"Great."Valen muttered with a displeased look.

"Hello and welcome everyone."Marigold remarked. "It's tragic that today's young people don't remember the 1920's, when fashion was chic, gorgeous and the perfect blend between style and function. I give you, Boutique Magnifique."

Models wearing stylish 1920 century themed clothes started walking in the catwalk as the audience watched in amazement.

"Whoa!"Star remarked with her eyes sparkling. "These outfits are so cute!"

"Marigold's fashion themes never lose their touches."Serena admitted. "That's why her primary goal is to express young women's dream through her outfits design."

"My mum told me she's opening up a shop around Echo Creek soon."Marco commented.

"So she's doing this fashion show to celebrate?"Addison assumed.

"Whoa!"Serena chuckled. "Check out that outfit!"

The last model was a woman with strawberry blonde hair wearing a 1920 themed wedding dress with delicate ruffles with the all-over lace, V-neckline and white roses designs creating a look that's both feminine and flirty.

Star, Serena and Addison's cheeks were pink since they were dazzled by the beauty of the wedding dress.

"Now that's a wedding dress."Marco commented.

Marigold and the last model bowed as the audience cheered at them before they headed back stage.

But soon as they arrived at the backstage, Marigold sighed sadly.

After the fashion show ended, Marigold was signing copies of her photo book for the fans that were among the audience.

Astor and Cody rushed forward and congratulated Marigold for her fashion show.

"Mum!"Cody said happily as he hugged Marigold. "Your fashion show was great!"

"Thank you, Cody."Marigold replied with a gentle smile.

"Mum, what's wrong?"Astor questioned. "Are you thinking about dad again?"

Marigold shook her head.

"Not really, dear."Marigold replied. "Just feeling a bit lonesome that's all."

"Lonesome?"Astor and Cody said in unison.

Serena suddenly rushed forward holding her photo book with Star, Marco, Addison and Valen following right behind her.

"My, my! Look at how much you've grown."Marigold complemented and gives Serena a kiss on the cheek. "Valen, isn't she just the absolute cutest?"

"I'm sure Serena is delighted to have such a timely visit from her aunt, today of all days."Valen retorted.

"Aunt?!"Star, Marco and Addison said in shock.

Serena's confused look changed one of shock and surprise.

"Aunt Goldie?"Serena said in surprise. "You're Marigold Rossellini?"

"The one and only! I'm so happy to see you again!"Marigold remarked and hugged Serena. "I thought it'd be better if we were all together on a day like this! Don't you agree, dear?"

"Yes."Serena agreed excitedly. "The last time I saw you when I was three years old."

Marigold brought her attention to Astor and Cody.

"Astor. Cody. Say hello to your Uncle Valen and Cousin Serena."Marigold instructed. "They're the very two important people of my late sister."

"Hello."Astor said bluntly.

"Hi."Cody answered with a wave. "It's very nice to meet you."

Serena smiled. "You too."

Valen looked at Astor with a disturbed expression for a moment as Marigold brought her attention to Star.

"Oh my, you must be Moon's daughter. Star Butterfly."Marigold responded and gives Star a kiss on the cheek. "You look exactly your mum."

"Umm...thank you, Aunt Goldie."Star said with an awkward smile.

"And you're my niece's little sister, Addison."Marigold cooed and touched Addison's face. "You're so adorable. Astor recently has told me about you."

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Aunt Goldie."Addison answered brightly.

"Mrs Marigold, if you're Serena's aunt does that mean your also a Butterfly?"Marco suggested.

"Biologically, yes."Marigold responded. "I was originally supposed to be next person to inherit the magic ring. But my late Grandfather Alfredo needed someone to inherit his fortune, so I became his heir while my little sister inherited our family's ring. My cheek marks are hidden due to the make up I am wearing."

"Anyway what brings you here in Echo Creek, Goldie?"Valen questioned. "I doubt you came here only to show a fashion show."

"That's true."Marigold agreed as she held Astor and Cody's shoulders. "As a matter of fact, we are moving to Echo Creek."

Star, Serena, Marco and Addison's eyes widen in amazement while Valen had a horrified look on his face.

"For real?!"Star asked excitedly.

"Of course, we are."Astor scoffed.

"That's awesome!"Serena remarked.

"Oh no."Valen muttered with an unsure look.

"Oh yes. Which means you'll see us around."Marigold sneered smugly before looking at Star and Serena. "And if you two have any trouble with magic, you know to ask."

"Yes, Aunt Goldie."Star and Serena answered in unison.

Valen groaned and face palmed in frustration.
