Demetri and Olivia decided to meet at Demetri's house for game night. Eli was invited, but he told his friends no.
"I don't do that nerd shit anymore."
"Who does he think he is now? Dyes his hair, gets a mohawk, changes his outfit, and now he's suddenly not a nerd?!" Demetri threw his arms up as he got up angrily from his bed. The brunette cringed at the sudden movement, having a flashback from earlier today.
...
"So, I was thinking. You, me, Eli. Tonight we play the new Re- holy shit" The black-haired boy's eyes widen in shock at something behind her. "Eli?"
At her mouse-like friend's name, she quickly turned around, hoping that he was okay and uninjured. Instead, the once brunette boy was now sporting a bright mohawk and a confident smirk.
Her mind went back to the conversation she had last night with the boy, and she was at a loss for words.
"Hey, guys, what's up?" Eli said as he sauntered over to the two and sat down at the table, head high and shoulders back.
'Even his voice changed...' Olivia thought to herself as she did a once-over of her friend.
Demetri rolled his eyes and pointed at the up-do, "Alright, I know your mom lost her shit when she saw that, but anyways. Hobbit and I are planning to play the new mod pack tonight. You want in?"
Eli snorted as he sat back in his chair, tipping it onto two legs. He stuck his arms behind his head and smirked at his best friend.
"I don't do that nerd shit anymore."
...
The brunette just shook her head, "I-I don't really know what happened. One day he's getting bullied, the next, he's yelling at me to leave him alone, and now he's..." She trailed off, trying to find a word to describe the change.
"... He's ignoring his roots," Demetri finished for her, "That 'nerd shit' was what kept us busy our entire life, and now he's going to act like he didn't cry when Dobby died?"
Demetri shook his head in disbelief, "My binary brother is going through a midlife crisis."
Olivia snorted, "You can't go through a midlife crisis at 16, Everest."
The boy pointed at her, "you can if you die early!" He walked over to his computer desk to grab his Dr. Pepper, "Which is going to happen if he continues this Karate nonsense."
"Don't roll your eyes at me. Karate could save your life!"
"Not even a Karate champion could defend her friend."
"She died too young..."
"...bit? -via? ...Olivia? You alright, Space Cadet?" Demetri asked with concern as he sipped on his soda.
"Y-yeah, I just have a bad feeling that something terrible is coming up," She remarked grimly, sitting further into the bean bag.
The taller teen rolled his eyes as he dropped onto the bed, "he'll come around eventually. It's just a normal teenage angst phase." Rolling onto his stomach, he looked at the girl.
"You sound like something out of a cheesy Hallmark movie. How do you feel?"
Olivia rolled her eyes and faked throwing the pillow next to her. Demetri flinched and brought his arms up to cover his face. "Watch the drink, you troll!"
"That's why you shouldn't drink and eat in bed," chuckled the brunette, grabbing a lollipop from the hidden candy stash. The taller teen looked at her with an incredulous expression.
"You do the same thing!" He paused for a moment, "On my bed, too!
She shook her head, "Nah, not the same thing. I'm a lady, which means I am more graceful than orcs like yourself." She nodded towards her friend with resolution.
"Lady," Demetri snorted. "More like a troll." Sighing in resignation, the black-haired boy grabbed the controller next to him and turned on the console.

Miguel headed to his sensei, needing some honest life advice for his crush on Sam. He really wanted to do this right, and he knew that his sensei would be the perfect person for girl advice.
"Well... there's a girl at school," he started slowly to the adult.
Johnny didn't miss a beat, "is she hot?"
The teen ignored the comment, continuing on with his description, "and she's super smart."
"Hot?"
"She's funny. And cool."
"Hot?"
Miguel rolled his eyes, "yes, she's hot. Like, super hot."
Johnny nodded in understanding, "nice."
"I think you'd really like her, sensei. She likes Karate...and-" Miguel continued to talk about his desire to ask Sam out without saying her name.
Now Johnny wasn't completely stupid, and his brain started turning. The blond saw his student and Knuckles outside drinking milkshakes all those nights ago, the photo on their Book Face.
He already knew the chick had some Karate training, evident by the way she beat the shit out of that locker. Johnny supposed she was pretty attractive and was into that nerd shit. Although she let her talent and natural rage go to waste, the man thought she would be suitable for Miguel.
As the blonde gave the teen some advice, he couldn't help but feel satisfied with the future couple.
'Two kick-ass kids, fuck yeah.'

Olivia waited outside of the dojo in her car. She planned on offering a ride to Eli to talk about all that was happening and make sure that he was doing okay. She started to see the beginnings of a disaster brewing at West Valley.
Through the window, she watched the teens be intimidated by the blond adult. Unsure of the motive, she watched as they all lined up in front of Aisha.
Eyes widened, Olivia was shocked as each kid was punched in the face. The brunette blinked a few times before going on her phone to scroll through social media.
'If they want to pay money to get punched in the face, that is not my problem...'
...
Hawk stepped out of the dojo door with Miguel, a grin on his face after finishing a great workout. The first nosebleed that he had control over, pretty badass.
"Hey, Eli!" Olivia called out with a wave to her friend, a grin on her face.
Eli's grin faded at the name as the small girl walked over to him with a plastic rectangle in hand.
"So, I was thinking that we could go over to Demetri's place and play Castle Crushers 2! I just got it from Best Buy today," she chirped happily, showing him the game.
Behind Hawk, he could hear snickers from other kids in his class and the whispers invading his mind with 'Hawk still doing that nerd shit.'
Clenching his fists, he thought about how much he went through for this new image, and he wasn't going to let it be just an image.
"...and I was thinking that-"
"Oh God, Reynolds. Do you ever stop talking?" The blue-haired boy laughed. The snickering at him faded from his expense to the girl's in front of him. Her face dropped, and her shoulders started to cave in.
"W-what? Eli, I-" the brunettes stumbled over her words, not sure how to respond; she took a step back, having flashbacks to the night of the Halloween dance.
"W-w-what," Hawk mocked as he looked at the brunette. Miguel looked between his two friends, figuring out the proper approach. Snickering, the shorter male walked past his friend of the opposite sex, "Come back when you're ready to do something badass, Reynolds!"
Hawk left Miguel and Olivia together, grabbing his bike from the pillar. The brunette looked at Miguel with tears forming in her eyes.
"V, I-" Miguel began before cutting himself short, shaking his head, and giving her a little hug. "I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" And the taller boy walked away to grab his own mode of transportation and head off with his other friend.
In shock, Olivia stood in front of the dojo, trying to figure out what had happened. Looking over to the window, the young girl noticed a grinning Johnny Lawrence giving her two thumbs up in encouragement.
Slack-jawed, the brunette scoffed and walked back to her car, leaving the sensei nodding to himself in content.
'That's right, kid. Be the alpha male.'

Olive: i don't know what to do about Eli
Tree: I know, his confidence is getting out of control
Olive: thats not the problem, its the fact he's starting to become the bully
The girl looked at her Discord, checking if the subject matter was online. He'd changed his name to 'Hawk' and his profile picture to him sticking his tongue out with his shirt off. Demetri hopped on voice chat, and Olivia soon followed.
"So we still doing Castle Crushers 2?" Demetri inquired, logging onto his Steam account. Olivia followed in suit, loading up the game. Looking at Eli's steam name, she thought about sending him an invite. As her cursor hovered over his gamer tag, she thought about his reaction earlier today and made her decision.
"Yeah, I'll host?" Olivia sent the code to Demetri.

Miguel chuckled at Sam's picture, sending her a quick text of appreciation. Thinking it was Knuckles on the other side of the technology, Johnny smirked, "What's so funny?"
The teen let out another laugh before showing the picture to his sensei, "Nothing, Nothing. Just this funny picture my girlfriend posted."
Johnny took the phone and prepared himself to see whatever the nerd thought was funny. He froze. "You're dating a LaRusso?"
Miguel took his phone back, confused at his sensei's intensity, "yeah, why?"
"What happened to Knuckles?" Johnny exclaimed, "Hot, nerdy babe, who likes Karate?"
The teens' face scrunched up, "uh, no. Olivia does not like Karate; she's very against it, in fact."
Lawrence snorted as he sat down in his chair, "coulda fooled me with the way she wrecked that school locker." He wretched over and grabbed a pencil to continue filling out some paperwork on his desk, "great form, wicked punch. Definitely had some prior training."
Miguel stared at his sensei before shaking his head, "Must have been someone else. She's against violence and females in Karate."
Shrugging, the sensei responded, pointing at the kid with the pencil, "That's not my problem what you believe, but we gotta talk about this LaRusso chick."

Miguel continued talking about his issue to his Karate friends, "Sam's dad hates Cobra Ka; I'm a part of Cobra Kai." He said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, "so, by the transitive property, Sam's dad is going to absolutely hate me!"
Hawk looked at his taller friend, "Jesus Christ, you're such a nerd."
Miguel gave his friend a side-eye, "Speaking of nerds, what was that with V yesterday? You were kind of being a jerk."
With a snort, Hawk continued to throw milk duds at the brunette two rows down.
"Nah, dude. Chicks dig an alpha male; I gotta get the message across from the beginning that I don't do that pussy shit anymore. Gotta keep my badass image, y'know?"
"Are you sure that's how you want to act towards your friend?" Aisha asked her colorful friend as he tried to get the candies into the girls' popcorn. When Hawk didn't answer, she continued her conversation with Miguel with a quick eye roll.
"Who the hell did that?!"

Olivia was going out of the house to get the mail, having declined a meal at the LaRussos. Smiling, she waved at the boy on the bike coming down the road.
"Miguel! How's it going?" The brunette gave the boy a quick hug as he got off his bike and put the kickstand up. "What are you up to?"
"Hey V!" Miguel returned the hug. "I'm going to introduce myself to Sam's father. What about you?"
Said girl chuckled and pointed at her house, "I live across the street from the LaRusso's. I thought you knew that."
Miguel shook his head in awe at the lovely home, "Nope, I didn't think you lived here..."
Olivia crossed her arms, "what's that supposed to mean, hmm?"
"I-I just thought that, uh," Miguel stammered, trying to backpedal. "You didn't hang out with the rich girls or acted like one, so I just assumed that, y'know..."
The female teen chuckled and uncrossed her arms. "I'm kidding with you; it's fine. We didn't always live here, y'know? I actually grew up in a trailer home most of my life."
"Really?" Miguel questioned, taking a look at her.
His friend smiled and nodded, "I'm not from the West coast, y'know? I'm from South Carolina, born and raised." She said jokingly, making sure to draw out the slight southern accent she had.
"That's a story for another time. I think it's great that you will finally meet the LaRussos. They are very kind people."
Olivia pointed across the street, "They live right there. If you need a ride back home, just come knock on my door. It's dark outside, and even a Karate kid like you shouldn't be out this late."
Miguel gave his friend a quick thanks before stopping and turning back to her, "About what Hawk said-"
"It's fine, Twiggy," Olivia interrupted. "Promise. It's just a phase. He needs to find himself, and this is his journey." She continued to her front door, opening it and stepping inside.
Turning around, she gave him a grin, "Now go meet your girlfriend's family and come tell me how it went while I take you home."
The young Spanish speaker grinned, energized with the reassurance of his friend.
...
Olivia opened the front door of her home, confused at why Miguel was so quick. At the sight of his face, she feared for the worst and ushered him inside to talk.
Handing the teen a cup of hot chocolate, she let him lead the conversation and vent to her about what he saw.
"-and there was this boy there, with long hair. Just smiling and laughing with her," he exclaimed, taking the mug from the brunette. "I have never felt so humiliated."
Taking a sip of her own water, she nodded, "Yeah, sounds like Robby."
"Robby?" Enquired Miguel, wrinkling his nose, "Sounds like a nerd name."
Rolling her eyes, she responded, "Yes, Robby. He works for Mr. LaRusso. Heard he's graduated and in between going to college."
"That doesn't make me feel any better," huffed Miguel. "Chicks dig older guys."
Snorting, Olive commented, "you should stop taking relationship advice from a guy in his 50's without a wife or girlfriend." Taking a sip from her glass, she continued, "the guy doesn't even know how to turn on a laptop for crying out loud."
"One, don't knock on my sensei-"
"I don't know, I'd love to knock on your se-"
Gagging dramatically, Miquel lifted his left hand to stop his friend from continuing.
"Please...spare me the talk about my sensei..." Closing his eyes, he whispered, "Get out of my head, vile images."
Shaking her head, Olivia continued off the subject, "Why don't you just ask her who that was instead of making assumptions?"
Miguel finished his cup of hot chocolate and went to put the empty cup in the sink, "I know what I saw, V."
Shoving his hands away with a quick promise that she'll take care of it, she ushered him to the car. The seed of doubt had already been planted in the boy's head.
"Just promise me you'll talk to her about it, okay? Give her a chance to explain her side of the story?"
The taller boy rolled his eyes and agreed, going outside with the brunette and shoving his bike in the trunk of her dad's truck. Her Honda Civic would not fit a bike, and her dad was in Washington anyway. They get those cool company cars to drive when on business.
"Thanks, Twiggy."
