Chapter 3: Someone Who Cares
"Which one of our darling children are you thinking of adding to your family Ma'am?" Melinda asked.
"Naruto Uzumaki." Olivia said.
Olivia sighed, before asking Melinda.
"What did Naruto do for everyone to hate him so much?" the brunette asks, her voice is full of anger.
"Have you heard of the Red Foxes street gang?" Melinda asked.
Olivia shook her head no.
"Naruto Uzumaki is a member of the gang, they wanted him to burn down the orphanage and two churches. And you still want to adopt him?"
"Yes, I do." Olivia says.
Melinda looked at the older woman, she wore a look of determination on her face, Melinda goes to her desk and pulls out a stack of papers and brings them back to Olivia.
"Fill these out." Melinda said flatly.
Back at the station...
Naruto sat on the bench, his eyes closed in deep thought. Elliot walked past the blonde, his features set into a thin line.
Feeling someone's eyes on him, Naruto looked up to see Elliot glaring at him.
"Yes?" the teen asked.
"I know who you are really, so you can drop the innocent orphan act." Stabler hissed as he stalked towards Naruto.
"Look Detective, I am an orphan and admittedly I have done a lot of regretful things in my life up to now, but I-."
His words died in his throat as Elliot punched him hard in the face, fracturing Naruto's right jaw and knocking him out of the chair.
The next thing Naruto knew Stabler was on top of him raining down heavy punches to his face.
"You're nothing but worthless scum that needs to be eradicated!" Stabler roared as he continued punching Naruto in the face uncontested.
Karen Swallows, a Patrol Officer of two years was coming down the stairs when she saw Elliot Stabler of Special Victims attack a blonde teenager, a boy who looked to be about fourteen, the boy looked over at her, his blue eyes wide with terror.
"Hey, get off him, right now!" Karen shouts, drawing her H&K VP70 and pointed it at Elliot. Fin, Munch, Cragen, and several other cops came running when they heard Karen's yell. Fin and the others all freeze when they see Elliot on top of Naruto, smashing the poor kid's face in with his left hand, which is clenched into a fist.
"El, what are you doing, man?" Fin asked.
"He's a gang member, useless scum." Stabler said harshly.
Olivia finished filling out the forms needed to adopt Naruto and is on her way back to the station when she gets a call from Munch.
"Liv, Naruto was just attacked by Stabler."
"What!?" Olivia screamed as she slammed on the brakes.
"Apparently Naruto is a gangster and Stabler took exception to that and wailed on the poor kid. "
"Where is he, Munch?" Liv asked.
"Naruto has been taken to Mercy General." the seasoned cop said.
Wasting no time, Liv rushed to Mercy.
"I have been more than lenient with you Elliot, but what you did to Naruto Uzumaki, a victim of sexual abuse and neglect was and is unacceptable for an officer under my command, you're fired." Don said, narrowing his eyes at Elliot.
Olivia runs into the waiting room of Mercy Hospital frantically searching for Naruto, a petite auburn haired Nurse came up to her.
"My name is Samantha Francis, how can I help you, Miss?"
"Detective Benson, Special Victims, did a young blonde boy, 14 come in with severe facial trauma?"
"Yes Detective Benson, I personally treated him myself." Samantha said.
"May I see him, Nurse?"
"Are you related to him?" she asked.
"Not as of yet, but I have started the adoption process to formally adopt Naruto and get him out of the system."
"Commendable Detective, please follow me." Samantha says.
Naruto watched TV as he lay in the hospital bed with his injured jaw wired shut, turning Naruto saw Nurse Samantha come into his room with Olivia on her heels, a look genuine concern was all over her face.
"Naruto, I just heard about what happened to you-."
Naruto smiled sadly at Olivia.
"Thanks for caring."
"Well, I have got good news for you, I've just started to adoption process to formally adopt you, Naruto and have you become the Son that I never had, but always wanted."
