Rangers in Space
"Out of Nowhere Part II"
I watched as the five Rangers fought and it was quite obvious that the Earth Rangers were a little outmatch; but they continued on fighting. I felt Alpha resting a hand on my forearm, squeezing it reassuring while while talking gibberish still. I looked at him and smiled at his attempt before looking back at the screen, letting out a sigh of reliefe when I saw thw Quantrons retreating. TJ, Carlos, Ashley and Cassie was on the ground, catching their much needed breaths before getting back on their feet. They walked out of frame and the screen changed to that of a man standing there in what looked like a grey uniform with a red short underneath. The man had brown, shoulder length hair with blond streaks in it.
I watched as Ashley approached him and gave an experimental poke on the man's shoulder, saying something I couldn't hear. The man replied and they talked before TJ stuck out his hand. The man jolted slightly, as if startled, before a moment passed and shook TJ's hand. Then, the screen turned off, making me blink and looked towards a glowing red camera.
"They are making their way on board." DECA answered my unspoken question, making me nod. Alpha and I went down to meet them and, when they walked in, TJ jumped right into the introduction.
"This is my little brother, Marcus. Marc, this is Andros. He's a Ranger from KO-35, a space colony in the Karova System."
"I's nice to meet you, Andros." I grinned at him and Andros just nodded in greeting before grabbing a tool kit and walked out with TK, Cassie and Ashley following after him while Carlos began to try and fix Alpha. I watched as he did, deciding to stay back and let my brother, Ashley and Cassie talk and help Andros.
"Here, Alpha." Carlos handed the tool to the bot before taking a look inside again.
"Connect terminal B-34 to terminal N-78." DECA instructed the former green Ranger.
"Easy for you to say." Carlos smiled a little as he paused. "Do you know how many little terminals there are in here?"
3,004,700,903." DECA answered, which caused me to almost belch at the numbers. Sparks suddenly came out of the open back piece, making Alpha jolt slightly before he sneezed.
"Gesundheit."
Alpha let out a little giggle before saying something.
"I'm sorry Alpha." Carlos sighed before giving a apologetic smile. "It's pretty complex in there."
I hesitated for a moment, chewing on my bottom lip before taking a step towards the two. "Here- let me see."
Carlos moved over just enough for me to take a peak and inside and he wasn't kidding. I could see small terminals and a few wires that were hanging here and there overall, it was very complex.
"So..." Carlos spoke up, causing me to look over at him. "Are you interested in engineering or..."
"Not particularly in enineering." I paused for a moment. "Though, I wouldn't mind if that's where my career ends up as. Its more...me wanting to be a type of mechanic."
"Why a mechanic?"
"It will let me be able to help others." I simply stated before giving up and stepping away from him and Alpha. Carlos glanced over at me before shifting back into place and started to try to fix Alpha once more.
"But we have the same goal." I heard TJ's voice and looke dover, seeing the others walking in with Andros in the lead. "To protect Zordon."
Andros stopped at the ladder, one hand resting on it and he turned his head slightly. "You're planetary Rangers and a civilian from Earth. What do you know about space?"
TJ took a long pause. "Nothing...I guess."
"Exactly." Andros climbed up the ladder and began to test the engines with DECA. I watched as the three walked over to Carlos and Alpha.
"Carlose, any luck?"
"I can't fix his speech boards." Carlos stated dejectedly as Andros climbed down the ladder. "We'll have to wait until we get back to Earth."
"Let me see." Andros interrupted as he took the place of Carlos, looking into the opened back. "Come on Alpha."
Andros led the robot away from us and I looked at the Earth Rangers, watching as they stepped closer together as they began to talk. I just kept my distance, knowing that I wasn't really apart of the team. I was just the od one out.
"My mission is to protect the Power Rangers," A voice suddenly stated, changing after every couple or so words. "In their quest to protect the universe from the forces of evil. One goal, one team known as the Power Rangers."
There was a pause before a happy 'Ay-yi-yi-yi!' and Alpha made a hurried walk back over to the team. "I can speak again! This is fantastic! I thought I'd never be understood again! Yippe!"
"I don't have a computer chip with his old voice." Andros told the team as he followed Alpha over.
"Oh, that's alright, Andeos. I'm quite happy with this one, thank you. Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi!"
"Yeah, thanks man." Carlos smiled in graditude.
"Andros," Cassie called out, making me look and notice that he was actually was going to leave the room. "Where are you going now?"
"I'm going to check out your space shuttle to make sure it can make it back to Earth." he asnwered before left, leaving us standing there.
"So...I guess we overstayed our welcome?" I asked, making the others glance over at me before Ashley moved first, walking out to probably follow Andros. I watched as TJ stepped closer to Alpha and I just decided to walk out and roam around the ship. In all honesty, I'd rather stay here than to go back down to Earth. I feel at home up hear already, especually with TJ here with me.
I stopped at that and frowned, running my hand through my hair as I started to go deep in thought. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath and was startled when DECA called my name. I shook my head and looked at the red glowing camera.
"Marcus, please preceed to the megalift. It is time to part ways."
"Right, thanks DECA." I walked over to the megalift just as it opened, revealing the former Rangers. I stepped inside and the door closed and, before I knew it, were out outside on the planet's surface, the ship taking us and now it was just us.
"We need to go back and protect Earth." TJ told the team. "Let's go."
We turned and began to make out way towards the shuttle before Ashley noticed something. "Uh...hey guys, where's Alpha?"
"Didn't he..." I trailed off.
"I thought he was with us." Carlos stated and we all looked around, trying to find a shine of plating.
"Okay, Spread out. Let's find him before he gets too far." ordered TJ and we fanned out, doing our best to find our wayward bot.
"Alpha!" I called out as I looked. "Alpha, where are you?!"
I continued to look and look but still, there was no sign of them. I walked back towards the others, having walked a ways away. I could hear the sounds of fighting when I got close enough and I quickly walked the rest of the way and stopped when I saw them fighting some Quantrons. I stood there for a moment before making up my mind and charged in, tackling one that had a hold on Cassie on the ground before jumping up, mimicing TJ's fighting stance.
"Thanks." Cassie got up as she rubbed her shoulder. He managed to dodge a swipe of one Quantron, jabbing it in its middle with my foot. Of course, I lasted for a short time before I was captured, followed by the others. Two of the Quantrons had a hold on my and no matter how hard I struggled, these things held fast. They brought us in a line and I looked ahead of us and saw a woman with purple hair, wearing black and silver outfit appearing right there, walking towards us.
"So," she began as she looked us over. "This is what Power Rangers look like after they lose their powers. Mmm...a sorry sight."
"Who are you?" TJ questioned.
"You don't know me?" She walked closer to us.
"No shit. Why do you think he asked?" I snarked, causing the woman to throw me a glare before her face smoothed out.
"I am Astronema, your worst nightmare."
Cassie tried to lunge towards her but the Quantron's hold stopped that. Astronema's face held amusement at Cassie's struggle.
"So, tell me, where did the Red Ranger go?"
"I would NEVER tell you!" Cassie growled.
"Yeah, how stupid do you think we are? especually them, they know about this game." God, I really need to stop my mouth. "Rangers are never disloyal...unlike your side."
She eyed me for a minute, probably deciding how she would want to destroy me before seemingly abandoning the notion of doing it herself. "Well, in that case, I have no use for any of you. None at all."
She turned and walked towards a Quantron, pausing. "Destroy them."
Two of the Quantrons stood un front of us, their blades horizontal to our chest.
"Time to go." Astronema dissapeared as the cloud above us opened up, revealing space. Then, the Astro Megaship was there, flying above us and knocking the Quantrons down. We quickly made a run for it as a blast came down and connected to the ground where we were once at, causing an explosion.
"It's Andros!" Ashley smiled once we caught our breath, watching as the Megaship landed and Andros came running out towards us.
"Here, put these on." Andros handed the former Rangers morphers and I quickly took cover behind a bolder to watch. Andros turned towards the Quantrons. "Let's Rocket!"
Their morphers flipped open and they pressed in a code before pressing another button and in the next moment, they were morphed into their new suits.
"Power Rangers! Hiya!"
"Cool blue and the Power Rangers are back!" TJ whooped.
"This is Awesome!" Ashley still held her position as the yellow Ranger.
"Red!" Andros started to call.
"Blue!" TJ called out next.
Yellow!" Ashley.
"Pink!" Cassie.
"Black!" Carlos.
"Lets do it!" They all said together and ran into battle while I stayed where I was, watching the newly morphed Rangers discover their individual weapons until they had the enemy on the run.
"Hey, Andros, you alright?" Asked Carlos as they all regrouped.
"Yeah, thanks to all of you." Andros paused before stepping forward. "This isn't over. I know Astronema and she won't give up that easily."
"Oh man." TJ sighed.
I took this time to make my way over to them. "You guys okay?"
"We're fine." TJ answered before he looked me up and down, as if scanning me for any injuries. "What about you?"
"As good as I can be." I tried to smile reasuringly.
"Guys, looks like Andros' right." Cassie stated as she looked up at the sky and we all followed her gaze. We saw a small ship heading towards us and we sprinted away as a second one appeared before they began to try and shoot at us. We dove to the ground, making them scream over our heads.
"That was too close." Andros stated as we got back to our feet. "Come on, let's get back to the Megaship."
We scampered after Andros into the said ship and to the bridge where Alpha was wiating. "DECA, get us out of here!"
"Ignition." The ship shuddered. "Liftoff."
The ship slowly rose into the air and headed up, towards the sky and into space. Andros gripped the controls. "DECA, scan the area for Astronoma."
"The long range scanners are still down. Scanning short range now. Unknown spacecraft approaching from quadrant four-one-five."
"Main viewing screen."
I looked over and saw a rather large ship heading right towards us, probably going full speed.
"Shields up!"
"Aliencraft is firing." DECA reported.
"Everybody, hold on!"
I quickly grabbed onto the nearest chair just as the shots impacted the shield, rocking the ship harshly.
"Megalasers locked on." DECA stated.
"Fire!"
The ship fired and soon, it was an all out space battle with one trying in a vain attempt to down the other.
"Shields will not hold up much longer." DECA told us.
"Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi!" Alpha all but yelped excitedly, making us turn to him. "I have amazing news, I think I've finally broken the code!"
"What code?" questioned TJ.
"For the Astro Megazord!"
"Alpha, what is going on?" Cassie asked as she walked over to the bot.
"This box contaisn the code that links the shuttle to the Megaship, creating the Astro Megazord! It's all part of Zordon's master plan!"
The others glanced at each other before nodding and TJ looked back at Alpha again. "Alright. Alpha, make sure that Marcus is safe and secure."
"You got it!"
The others went to the shuttle and Alpha quickly did what was instructed, taking me to secure me to a chair so I wouldn't be tumbling around as the Megazord fight its opponent. Alpha secured himself next to me and I could feel the ship moving, reconfiguring so to speak and the monitor in front of me flashed on, revealing a live feed from the cameras from somewhere on the outside of the ship. Thankfully, it didn't take long for the others to defeat the other ship.
"The vital systems are controled by DECA." Andros was explaining as he walked down the corridor with the rest of us behind him, listening. The Rangers had their new colored uniforms on while I had a similar one that was maroon. I was surprised that I got one at all since I wasn't a Ranger. "She's got eyes and years all over the ship."
"I speake over three-thousand languages." DECA piped up as we made it to the bridge.
"Fine, DECA." Andros hummed.
"Navigate all known galaxies..."
"Okay, DECA." Andros seemed to be getting a little annoyed by his tone.
"...And I'm cerified in medical, psychological and-"
She was cut off when Andros pushed a button. "And this button turns her voice off."
"So," TJ began as he turned to Andros. "Where do we start to look for Zordon."
"We start by fixing the Megaship. She's not ready to make a long-distance voyage, but I don't have the equipment that we need here." He walked to the main controls and turned back to look at us.
"Well, we can go to Earth." Cassie suggested and when Andros started to show some signs of slight doubt, she spoke up again. "Um, they'll help us at NASADA."
"...Good. We'll need help." Andros stated as he rolled it over in his throughts. He pressed a button. "DECA, set a course for...Earth."
"Allow me to help you DECA!" Alpha made is way over to a set of controls. "I can set the course."
"Thank you Alpha, but setting the course is very complex and i am much more suited-" DECA was cut off again by Alpha muting her, making us look over at him.
"I have set the course for home!"
I couldn't help but chuckle, shaking my head before looking over at TJ. "...I do hope you know that your stuck with me, right?"
TJ snapped his head towards me. "What? No. You're going back home-"
"And worry about you and the others constantly, only seeing you God knows when and how often? I may be not be a Power Ranger or anything equally useful, but I want to stay...please."
"You could be like Billy!" Alpha stated as he walked back over to us. "He was the first blue Ranger. When he lost his powers and couldn't be one of the Zeo Rangers, he stayed at our base and helped out there. We'll find you something your good at so you don't have to leave!"
I stared at Alpha before looking back at TJ, giving him my puppy dog eyes. "Please TJ? If your really worried, you guys can teach me how to fight so I can defend myself. I promise I won't get in the way."
TJ stared back for a moment before groaning. "Fine! Fine."
"Maybe he could do something with mechanic work? Maitnance?" Carlos spoke up. I beamed at TJ and Carlos before the girls came over towards me and seemed happy that I was staying as the spoke excitedly to me.
To say I was happy to stay with my older brother and his friends was an understatement.
