It's been three weeks since Jack's sudden visit at the Autobot base. Two weeks ago, after a very long talk with June, Arcee had managed to convince her to let Jack come to base. Although this hadn't improved the relationship between Jack and Arcee. They were painfully awkward with each other. Whenever Arcee tried to talk to Jack, he would either ignore her or make her shut up. No-one understood why but didn't dare to ask about it. Seeing the situation between them, Optimus had no other choice than replacing Arcee with Sideswipe as Jack's guardian. Jack was sitting in the Human area of the base. In order to distract himself he was reading a book. Miko was playing video games on her phone while Raf was helping out Ratchet by fixing the glitches in the computer system. Arcee was watching Jack from one corner of the base. She was sad because of Jack's behaviour towards her. But there was nothing she could do about it right now. She hoped that after Jack cools down she will be able to restore her relationship with him.

Her thoughts were cut short as Optimus called her and her fellow Autobots. Apparently Ratchet had managed to track down a relic beacon signal coming from some sort of canion and it looked like it was undiscovered by Deceptions. Optimus decided to venture into it to check it and brought along Arcee, Bumblebee, Ultra Magnus, Bulkhead and Tailgate with him. Ratchet opened a ground bridge to the place and they all proceeded to step through it one by one. Suddenly Jack caught some movement happening beside him. He looked up just in time to see Miko running out of the place.

"Miko!" Jack yelled as he chased behind her.

Raf, who noticed this, chased behind them too in hopes to stop Miko. Ratchet apparently didn't notice any of this and as the last bot stepped through the portal he proceeded to close it. Not once noticing the three teens who went inside the Portal. On the other side after getting out of the ground bridge Jack almost had a panic attack when he realised that Raf is with him and the ground bridge has closed behind them. They were in some canion like area in the middle of a dessert. After taking a moment to calm down, he and Raf tried to look for Miko and take her to somewhere safe before she got into some sort of trouble. While they were looking for Miko, the Autobots made their way towards the source of the signal. As they walked Optimus noticed his surroundings. They seemed to be in an abandoned mining area in that canion. Suddenly his tracking device started to beep, indicating to him that they're close to the source. But when Optimus looked around for it he only found a strange looking device. It wasn't of Cybertronian making. Optimus's optics widened as he realised what it was. Suddenly he heard a smooth screech and looked up just in time to see a rocket coming towards him. He jumped away just in time to avoid it as the rocket hit the place where he was standing moments ago and exploded. The Autobots got startled a bit but they soon recovered and activated their weapons.

"Hello there!" Someone said in a loud voice.

They looked up to see Silas and some of his men standing on high ground. They looked around and noticed many more MECH agents surrounding them.

"Silas." Optimus growled.

"It's nice to meet you again, Optimus Prime. I wasn't really expecting that you would fall for this trick, well guess I am lucky." Silas said.

"What makes you think we will surrender this easy punk?" Bulkhead said as he aggressively stepped forward.

Silas smirked and said,"You will after seeing this." and stepped aside.

One of the MECH agents came forward, dragging Miko with him. Miko struggled to get out of his grip but it didn't work.

"Miko!" Bulkhead exclaimed.

"H-Hey Bulk." Miko nervously said.

Bulkhead was going to do something, ignoring Optimus's orders to stand down but suddenly a red coloured energy blast hit the ground beside him.

"Don't be a fool, wrecker. Listen to your leader." A familiar feminine voice said from behind them.

They looked behind and to their dread it was Airachnid. She was in her spider form, aiming her blasters at them.

"Don't try anything, Optimus. My men are armed with weapons capable of doing some harm to Cybertronians and Airachnid is with us." Silas proclaimed.

All the hope seemed to be lost at that moment and Optimus was ready to surrender so that Miko would not be harmed. On the other side, on a water tank a sniper had his rifle aimed at the Autobots. He was the only one in there since they didn't feel like they would need more men at his position. He never once notices a figure sneaking behind him. He suddenly heard some footsteps and turned around to check it. The moment he looked back he was hit in the head with a big stone by Jack. The soldier dropped on the floor and tried to get up but Jack hit him again. This time the soldier fell unconscious.

"It's safe now Raf." Jack said and Raf came out of the hidding.

They had noticed the MECH agents while searching for Miko and hid just in time to avoid them. After seeing the Autobots and Miko in trouble they couldn't stand still and decided to do something. After tying up the soldier with the help of Raf, Jack picked up the sniper rifle and checked it. It was a modified Barret XM109. He got into a position and took aim.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you know how to use guns?" Raf asked in amazement.

"I used to go hunting with my Grandpa. I Could handle the rifles quite well." Jack told him.

Silas was beaming as he thought of what he could do with the Autobots. As he was going to say something, suddenly Airachnid cried out in pain. They looked at her to find out that she had an injury on the side of her neck and energon was leaking from there. Suddenly the guy holding Miko fell to the ground. Almost half of his head was ripped out. Miko screamed in fright and ran away. At that moment all the hell broke loose. Miko jumped down from the high ground and Bulkhead caught her just in time, saving her. The Autobots took out their weapons and fired at the soldiers as their unknown ally was helping them. The MECH agents and Autobots fought as Arcee went after Airachnid. Silas looked around confused while taking cover from the firing. He suddenly noticed the place where Jack was positioned. He took out his spying glass and confirmed that it really was Jack who was shooting at them. He quickly informed his men about him and ordered them to shoot at him too. The Autobots also found out about Jack when they noticed the MECH soldiers firing at the water tower.

"Jack." Arcee gasped when she saw him.

"Raf is here too." Bumblebee beeped

"He must've come after Miko, trying to stop her." Ultra Magnus said.

Jack and Raf had to abandon their position when the soldiers started shooting at them too. They tried to run away as they avoided the bullets coming towards them. Jack shot the final few shots and his rifle ran out of ammo. He dropped it and they both ran out of there to find someplace to take shelter. Bulkhead had taken Miko to the side of the canion. He dropped her there and told her to take cover as he went back to the fight. Miko did as he said and tried to run away. After a while she took shelter behind a large rock, but a MECH soldier had noticed her and went after her. He almost found her when Jack suddenly tackled him to the ground. He snatched the soldier's weapon and threw it far away. The soldier managed to push Jack off him and they both got up on their feet. The soldier tried to punch Jack but he dodged it and grabbed the soldier's arm, and in one swift movement he threw the soldier over his shoulder. The soldier dropped on the floor and before he could do anything Jack put his arm in an arm lock and dislocated it. The soldier screamed in pain as his arm was rendered useless. Jack then crouched down on him, pinning him down with his weight and repeatedly punched him in the face. On the fifth punch the soldier was knocked out.

"Let's go!" Jack yelled out as he let go of the soldier and ran with Miko as Raf joined them.

Jack picked up the soldier's gun on the way.

"Didn't know you could fight." Miko said as she ran beside the raven haired teen.

"Well, the summer camps I went to made sure that the students knew how to defend themselves. The Muay Thai and MMA classes were actually quite fun." Jack replied.

They took shelter behind some rocks as they waited for the Autobots to rescue them. On the other side Autobots were backing up from the fight. Silas had already called for backup and helicopters were hovering above them. Optimus realised they couldn't win this battle so he decided to retreat. He called Ratchet, requesting a ground bridge after giving him a brief description of their situation. Ratchet compiled by opening a bridge in the safe distance. The Autobots made their way towards the swirling green portal while keeping their enemies at bay.

"What about the kids!? We can't leave them behind!" Bulkhead suddenly said as they were reaching closer to the portal.

"Jack, Miko and Raf are still out there, Optimus." Arcee said in worry.

"Don't worry I will bring them back." Tailgate suddenly said.

Optimus looked at the said bot. Feeling the state of the Prime, he said, "What? I might not be the fastest, but I am pretty fast. I can do it."

"Then it's settled, Autobots, go back to the base. Tailgate go and retrieve the children." Optimus commanded.

As Tailgate was going to leave when Optimus called his name.

"Bring all of them back safely." Optimus told him with an edge in his voice.

Tailgate noded and transformed in his vehicle mode as left to find the kids. Most of the Autobots went back but Ultra Magnus and Bulkhead stayed behind to guard the ground bridge until Tailgate came back. On the other hand Tailgate struggled a bit to find the kids. The ongoing shootout made it even harder. But managed to finally find them after a while. He honked as loud as he could to gain their attention. It seemed to work as the teens looked at him.

"Go, go, go!!" Jack yelled as they hurried towards Tailgate.

But suddenly a cluster of bullets was shot towards them. Jack would have been shot if it wasn't for Raf who pulled him away just in time. They looked back to see a group of soldiers advancing towards them.

Jack still had the assault rifle he had got from that soldier. He aimed it towards the incoming enemies and started shooting.

"I will hold them back! You two go. I will see you in a minute!" Jack told them.

Raf tried to argue but seeing the situation Miko had to drag him away. They ran towards Tailgate and after reaching him they got inside his vehicle form. They put on their seatbelts and waited for Jack. Jack also ran towards Tailgate when his rifle ran out of ammo. Tailgate adjusted his rearview mirror to see the teen running towards him. Then he noticed the number of enemies behind him. He then did something that none of the kids expected. Tailgate started his engine. At first it looked like he was going to drive towards Jack but instead he drove towards the opposite direction, towards the ground bridge.

"What are you doing, Tailgate!? We have to get Jack!" Miko exclaimed, as she and Raf tried to open her seatbelt or open the door of Tailgate's vehicle mode.

The seatbelts tightened around them and limited their movements as Tailgate coldly said,"Shut up girl."

Jack noticed this and tried to run faster to catch up with Tailgate but he wasn't fast enough. He then changed his plan and took a risk by trying to climb down the canyon as fast as he could so that he could reach the ground bridge. He jumped and climbed down the rocky surface. Tailgate on the other hand drove towards the ground bridge at full speed. After a while the ground bridge came into view. Bulkhead and Ultra Magnus were clearly struggling to hold their ground. Tailgate informed them that he got the kids through the Com-link. Learning about this they went through the ground bridge and soon Tailgate came at full speed and leaped inside it. Jack, who had just managed to find the ground bridge, tried to run towards it. He ran as fast as he could but then to his horror he saw the ground bridge close. Jack came to a halt and stood there scared and dumbfounded as he stared at the place where the ground bridge had been.

He didn't have time to think much about it as he heard gun shots and ducked as some bullets flew by. He looked back to see his pursuers and tried to make a run for it. But suddenly something hit his right leg and he fell on the ground. He looked at his feet anly to find it webbed to the ground. Then he heard a thud beside him and he was pulled off the ground.

"Well, well, well, look who came to visit me." Airachnid said as she held Jack in her left servo and was looking straight into his eyes.

Jack looked around and saw the MECH soldiers had surrounded them. After a while Silas came into view as he stepped out of the crowd.

"We may have lost the Autobots for now. But we now have you Mr. Darby." Silas said with a smirk.
