To Radiant Arabian Nights: Thanks for loving the first chapter. I have seen stories where Harry is the son of Artemis or was adopted by her. I wanted to do one where she has a girl name Selene. She's hidden from 'the eyes of the gods' so that she can grow. She will be a companion of Percy, Annabeth, and Grover but she won't be really there. More like she's in owl form and follows the three as they go and try and find the Lightning Bolt.

To CAD270895: The Horcrux will be removed way before she goes to Hogwarts and I don't know yet who she will be paired with. I will tell you that it won't be an adult and it won't be Nico's boyfriend.

Chapter 2: Two Owls Talk

Selene knew that she was different from the rest of her 'family' and she didn't have a dislike for them. She just thought they were people that lacked any sort of flavor in life. Selene Potter was raised by the Dursley's but she was nothing like them. For one she loved to hunt, which confused her Uncle, and she was fit. She was a very bright student, but something about her eyes unnerved most everyone that met her. She had a lean body, plenty of muscle from the shear amount of times that she had used her bow.

She was the top bow woman in Surry and every time, even when she closed her eyes, she always shot her arrow with precision. She had won several prizes, much to the delight of her Aunt. Her aunt always considered archery to be a fine sport. She was taught how to ride a horse and shoot at the same time. The only thing that made her unlike by her family was the fact that strange things always seem to happen to her.

One of the strangest things that Selene could do was change shape. She would use it to get away from things when they got to be too much. Like when Petunia was trying to get her to wear a dress and act like 'a proper young lady.' Dudley laughed and said, "Like that will ever happen." He didn't say it out of malice, he said it because he knew Selene very well. Despite everything, and despite how much Mr. and Mrs. Dursley disliked how odd Selene was, they were close.

She waited for the Dursley's to go to bed before she snuck out and changed into an owl. Flying over the trees she landed and looked around. Being an owl was one of her favorite forms that she loved changing into. On this night, however, there was another owl. It looked at her and she looked back at it. She could tell that it was a female, the size gave it away.

"Hello," the owl said to her.

"Hello," she repeated. "I've never seen you before."

"I'm new here," the owl said. "I heard that there's good hunting here."

Selene told her that there was and she joined the other owl in hunting down field mice as she hadn't really eaten anything all day. The Dursley's, when she wasn't training, or at school, did chores.

"So what's your name?"

"Hecate," the owl answered. "Do you want to get out of here?"

She was confused and then Hecate said, "I saw how your relations treat you. There's a place where you can find family, people that care about you. Think about it, no more relations making you do things that children your age shouldn't be doing."

It was tempting and she asked, "What's the name of this place?"

"Camp Half-blood. New York! The only safe place for people with extraordinary powers and abilities."

"I'll think about it."

And she lifted off and was gone.

Selene hadn't forgotten what the owl name Hecate told her. Was there really a place that was just for people like her? There was no way that the Dursley's were going to let her go to the States. Yes, she had a passport, but she hardly ever used it. And then, a week after the owl told her about Camp Half-blood, Selene was told to attend a 'family' meeting.

"I have just gotten an all-expense paid vacation to New York," he told them. "And we're all going, including you."

Selene had a feeling this was going to cause nothing but problems.

Three days later the Dursley's, and Selene, arrived in New York. Was it her imagination or did New York feel more dangerous than Surry had? They checked into a hotel and Selene was forced to sleep on the couch while Dudley and his parents had their own rooms. Not that Selene was complaining about that. The couch was really comfortable. She would fly around at night while they were asleep and watched everyone running around as though the world was going to leave them behind.

One morning, three days after she arrived, she saw a girl shooting something out of a stick. She found the whole thing fascinating and so she stayed to watch. As she watched she looked as though she was trying to get the rock to do something.

"By the Founders, why am I having trouble with a large stone?" she said.

"Emerald, get back inside," a woman said. "Do you really want us to get a letter because you were doing magic outside of school?"

"Sorry, mom," she said and she was gone.

Selene wondered if this was how real mothers acted.

Back at the hotel room Selene was given not much to eat, though Dudley would sneak some food to her when his parents wasn't looking. Selene decided that it was about time that she go and see where this Camp Half-Blood was at. She left a note to Dudley and then changed into an owl and flew away. It was time for her to go on her own adventure.

Albus Dumbledore was concerned. Mrs. Figg reported that the Dursley's, taking Selene with them, had left and gone to the States. He had a bad feeling about this. Didn't Severus go to the States sometimes, even before he had become a Death Eater. He decided to summon him, knowing that he was still in England. The man that appeared, all in black, looked as though Dumbledore was wasting his time.

"Are you planning on going to the States?" he asked Severus.

"I wasn't. Why?"

"Miss Potter has gone with her relations to the States," Dumbledore told him. "Locate her, but don't reveal who you are. I want to make sure that she doesn't land in any kind of danger."

Albus knew that Severus hated the Potters, well minus Lily.

"Do this for Lily, Severus, please."

Right where he wanted him. He meant no malice, but he wanted to make sure that Severus remembered what rode on Selene Potter staying safe and sound.

"Fine, I'll do it," Severus said and he was gone.

Albus wished him luck.

A/N: I'll post a new chapter tomorrow. On my days off you will get two chapters. When I'm working you get one. I'm just having a blast writing this story. If you want to know the expense paid vacation was the work of Hecate.
