Chapter 3: Son of Hades
Selene didn't know how long she had been flying. She stopped to rest, to look for any danger, and found that this place was teeming with things that she had never seen before. They kept sniffing the air, like they were smelling something they wanted to eat. If she saw something that could see her, even in owl form, she would hide inside of a tree. Despite not knowing what they were her senses told her that they meant trouble and they would hurt her.
When the coast was clear she would sneak in, invisible (something that she had learned she could do out of need to feed herself), and steel some food and a couple of bottles of water. Thankfully, whatever you called what she could do, it kept her from being seen. Her internal compass directed her North and so that's where she went. One night, while cooking some lamb that she had stolen (along with cooking supplies) she encountered a man. He was handsome, but she could tell that something was off about him.
"Hello," he said.
She kept her guard up and only nodded.
"Not much of a talker, are you?"
"I don't trust people," she told him.
"Fair enough," he said. "So what's your name?"
"Selene," she answered.
"The name is Hermes," he told her.
She gave him an odd look and said, "Like the Greek God."
"Yep," he said. "Could you spare a traveler some food?"
"You do know that I stole it," she told him.
He laughed and said, "My kind of gal. I don't mind a little stolen meat."
"Very well," she said.
A couple of hours later, after they had eaten, he asked, "Where are you going?"
"North," she answered. "Someone told me of a place called Camp Half-Blood."
"You sound from England," he said.
"Yeah, I was born and raised there," she said. "Been living with my relatives for years. I ran away from home and I'm never going back."
"Sounds like a couple of people that I know," he told her. "What I want to know is how did you get to the States?"
"Paid vacation," she said. "And I know they're not upset that I'm gone. Well Dudley is different, he's my cousin. They can't stand the fact that I make strange and unusual things happen. They hate anyone that isn't normal."
She said this with some bitterness.
"I can tell that you've had one hard life," Hermes told her. "Well I better get going. Have things to do. It's nice to meet you, Selene."
"Thanks," she said and he left her.
The next morning, she packed up her things and changed into her owl form. She didn't see much of anything and even though she trusted where her senses were taking her, she wasn't really sure if she was going in the right direction. She stopped, stole some more food, and wondered if it really took an owl this long to get where it needed to go. She slept during the afternoon and then continued her flight. Night fell and down below she saw a car racing as fast as it could.
She followed it and as she turned her head she saw something really huge, her owl sight showing a thing that had the body of a man and the head of a bull. Knowing that there wasn't anything that she could do, and hoping that nothing bad happened to them, she watched them getting out of the car.
"HURRY PERCY," a woman screamed and the bull-man charged.
Selene had never seen something so horrible in her whole life. The thing grabbed the woman and she suddenly vanished. The boy, Percy, managed to get it to pull its own horn out. Percy grabbed it and stabbed it in the chest, causing it to turn to golden dust. She knew that she had to help, because Percy looked like he was really hurt. She changed from owl to girl and grabbed him.
"Where did you come from?"
"Never mind that," she said. "Let's get him some help."
And the two of them dragged Percy to the one place that she had been looking for: Camp Half-Blood.

"Your daughter has arrived at Camp," Hecate told Artemis.
"Thank the Gods," Artemis said. "And thanks for doing this for me."
She nodded and said, "Hermes shared a meal with her. I know that he hasn't made the connection."
"I will have to claim her," Artemis told her. "And I will do it after she's rested up."
"The other gods will be furious," she told her.
Artemis looked at her and said, "Selene has a Fate that the gods can't override. They will get use to the fact that I have a child."
"Wait until they find out what kind of life she's led," Hecate said. "I doubt the Dursley's will be safe from Hera's wrath."
"I doubt they will be safe," Artemis agreed and she went back to looking out the window.

Severus arrived at the States, but the place that he ended up was in the throne room of Hades. His father wasn't pleased about something. He bowed and said, "Father."
"Severus, I'm glad that you're here."
He looked up and asked, "Why?"
Hades looked at his son and said, "I want you to go to Camp Half-Blood. Watch that Jackson boy and follow him. I know that he stole my Helm of Darkness and I won't allow anyone to get away with stealing what belongs to me."
"Yes, father," he said and Severus shadow traveled out.

A/N: Now we all know that Percy didn't steal anything. However, Hades and Zeus both don't know that, which is why Severus is heading to Camp. On note about Selene allowing Hermes to share. The Greeks believed in hospitality and Selene knows how to treat a traveler well. Next chapter: Selene gets claimed and the Gods go insane.
