"Another year and another new batch of dunderheads coming to Hogwarts, how delightful." thought a sallow-skinned, shoulder-length black-haired, black-eyed man named Severus Snape wearing a long sleeve black robe as he sat in his seat at the staff's table and staring in annoyance at Professor McGonagall leading and bringing the new students into the Great Hall toward the sorting hat lying on the single, three-legged stool before a surprise look appear on his face when he noticed Ruriko standing among the other new students and of how she strongly resembled a woman he used to befriend and like a lot. "Lily? … No, that little girl may look like how Lily look like when she's younger and started attending Hogwarts but she's not her, which mean she's Potter's wretched spawn." added Professor Snape as he narrowed his eyes coldly at Ruriko (and didn't noticed that another Professor is also staring and narrowing his eyes at Ruriko too).

After Professor McGonagall's done with the sorting before taking the sorting hat and the stool away with her, put the stool and the hat in a corner before she went to the staff table and sat down at her seat next to a tan-skinned, shoulder-length wavy grey-haired, grey-eyed woman wearing a long sleeve grey robe with a pointed grey hat on her head and short grey boots on her feet, Headmaster Dumbledore stand up from his seat.

"Good evening. To the new students, welcome to Hogwarts and to the old students, welcome back. Before we begin our scrumptious banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you!" said Headmaster Dumbledore happily to the students before he sat down on his seat.

"My goodness, the headmaster is a senile one." said a Russian female voice in disgust to Ruriko about Headmaster Dumbledore.

"Yes, I and the others inside me can see that he is, Anastasia." said Ruriko mentally back to the Russian female voice named Anastasia before a surprise look appear on her face (and also on the faces of the other first year students) when a large amount of foods (chicken drumsticks and wings, pork chops, grilled trouts, mashed potatoes, broccolis and more like desserts afterward) and drinks suddenly appeared on the table in front of them before she and the others began taking some from each bowls and plates of foods and began eating (and Ruriko noticed that the students in Slytherin and Ravenclaw ate in quiet and proper manners while the students in Gryffindor and Hufflepuff ate in noisy and messy manners and they received the surprise and shock of their lives when several transparent and pale-looking male and female ancient ghosts suddenly showed themselves out of the walls and floor around them (which amused some of the older students at seeing the new students reactions to the ghosts), greeted, welcomed and announced themselves to the students before the ghosts went back the way they came from, leaving the students to have their dinner in peace.) until Ruriko and the other students had their fills of eating and drinking.

"Mm, that was another excellent dinner and nice to meet you new students in Ravenclaw house. I'm Penelope Clearwater, fifth year prefect." said an older-looking female prefect named Penelope Clearwater calmly to the first-year students after they finish their dinner.

"Nice to meet you, Penelope Clearwater. I'm Ruriko Sakura from Japan." said Ruriko politely to Penelope.

"So she's a Ravenclaw prefect, huh?" said Sonya.

"Seems so from her words and from the prefect badge pinned on her clothes." said Ruriko.

"You're a foreigner student from Japan? But you don't look Japanese, you look… British." said another female student in surprise and confusion at Ruriko.

"Just because I don't look Japanese but look British like you said even though I already say that I came from Japan doesn't bother me one bit." said Ruriko coolly at the female student who say it.

"Yeah. You tell the nosy one, Ruriko." said a male voice in amusement to Ruriko.

"Right. Leave her be and keep your questions to yourself, Marietta." said Penelope firmly to the female student named Marietta (who scowled at Ruriko then Penelope and stay silent).

"Thank you, Clearwater-san." said Ruriko thankfully to Penelope before she decide to take a look at each of the Professors sitting at the staff table and she gasp and touch her forehead with her left hand.

"What's wrong, Sakura?" asked Hanameel concernly to Ruriko.

"I don't know, my head suddenly hurt for some unknown reason. Excuse me, Clearwater-san. Who's the professor that's sitting next to the turban professor?" replied Ruriko to Hanameel before she asked Penelope a question.

"That'd be Professor Snape and he teaches Potions." replied Penelope.

"So that's Professor Snape and he teaches Potions, huh?" thought Ruriko as she glance at Professor Snape (who also glance and scowled back at her) for another few minutes before she glance away from him.

"Ahem, now that all of us are well-fed and well-drank, there are a few more start of term announcements I would like to make to all students before we retired for the night. Firstly, please join me in welcoming Professor Irene Grace, an extremely talented witch who'll be taking the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts." said Headmaster Dumbledore before he glance and smiled softly at Irene Grace (a fair-skinned, long flowing black-haired, brown-eyed woman wearing a long sleeve dark purple silk dress, a matching dark purple small hat with a single white daisy flower on it on her head, long black stockings and black heels on her feet), who glance and nodded to the Headmaster as she stood up from her seat before she smiled and nodded at the students clapping politely to her then she sat back down in her seat.

"Secondly, all First Years should be aware the forest surrounding part of the grounds is forbidden, and therefore is out of bounds to all students, including a certain few of our older students." said Headmaster Dumbledore as he briefly glance at a pair of smirking red-headed twin boys sitting in the Gryffindor table. "Furthermore, Mister Filch, our caretaker, has also asked me to remind you all that no magic should be attempted in the corridors between classes, and that a full list of our school's forbidden items is available from his office, should any of you wish to peruse it." added Headmaster Dumbledore as he glance at the sour-looking elderly man standing near the doors and holding a black and dark grey stripe cat in his arms.

"Thirdly, quidditch trials will also be held in the third week of term. For those of you interested in playing for their house teams, please see and talk to Madam Hooch for more details. Fourthly, I'm pleased to announce that this year marks the return of the Inter-House Duelling Tournament…" said Headmaster Dumbledore before he fell silent due to the students began whispering excitedly to each other about the Inter-House Duelling Tournament. "Yes, I can see that news would excite all you students and the first week of the tournament will take place in the Spring, with details to follow much closer to the time, I would recommend getting in some practice time before then, should you wish to participate. And lastly… I must tell you all, that the Third Floor corridor on the right hand side is now completely out of bounds, to any students who does not wish to die a most painful death." added Headmaster Dumbledore sternly and warningly to the students, which caused worry looks to appear on their faces when they heard it.

"Well, that's quite the exciting and enlightening speech that the Headmaster say until the end of his speech about the Third Floor corridor that no one should go unless they want to die a painful death, that is." said Ruriko.

"He probably nuts for announcing that to us, Ruriko. As if any of us would ever think of going there." said Sedna.

"And on that note, I think I've held you all up long enough, there are lessons to be had tomorrow, and I find that our brains work best with a good night's sleep. Now, best be off with you all, good night!" said Headmaster Dumbledore happily to the students before the students stood up from their seats, walked out of the Great Hall and the students in Gryffindor and Ravenclaw houses follow their prefects up the stairs while the students in Slytherin and Hufflepuff houses follow their prefects down a corridor off to the side of the Great Hall.
