The Compound
Henry's Bedroom
When they got home from the docks with the beignets, Hayley, Klaus, and Henry found Elijah, Hope, and Freya eating breakfast in the sunny kitchen of the the Compound. It was odd to Henry that the room was so white and bright, whereas the rest of the large old mansion was dark and elegant.
"This room, it's different," Henry commented.
Elijah smiled. "We renovated this kitchen a few years back. We built this house over 200 years ago and as you can imagine things were quite different then. Typically, this area was only for the servants and staff. We only dined in the formal dining room, that breakfast nook, or in the courtyard, but never in here. Since we reduced the staff years ago, we thought we would make this room a little more cheery. More modern, so to speak."
"It's nice," Henry said as he finished his breakfast. An uncomfortable silence fell.
Hope smiled and clutched his hand, "Glad you are okay, Henry. I thought you were upstairs getting yelled at. I had no clue you left. Why didn't you tell me?'
Henry grimaced, "I thought Mr. Mikaelson, um, your dad, was going to kill me."
"Call me Klaus. I made it clear that Henry is not going to die, but he is in for that talk. So Henry, why don't you head up to your bedroom. Hayley is going to call Lisina and we'll be up shortly," Klaus said kindly.
"Yes, sir," Henry said respectfully. "Sorry for running away. And thanks for breakfast. Hope, want to train later?"
Hope smiled brightly, "Yeah, Henry. There's a lot I want to show you."
Henry trudged upstairs to his room nervously. Hearing that Hayley was going to phone Lisina did not reassure him that he was going to get off with a lecture this time. But Henry did enjoy his new training sessions with Hope. Being a hybrid make him faster and more agile, he had known nothing about combat, but he wanted to learn as much as he could. He had his reasons.
Elijah's Study
"Okay, Lisina...Yeah, I understand. No, Lisina, you didn't let him down. We will, um...handle it. Are you sure? That's not too harsh? I don't know...he seems so fragile. Okay. Yeah...I'll update you later. Thanks, bye," Hayley said hanging up the telephone.
Klaus was leaning against Elijah's desk.
Klaus had heard both sides of the conversation with his vampire hearing. He cringed.
"She really thinks you should belt that kid's bottom?" Klaus winced. "He seems like such a runt."
Hayley nodded, "She said she warned him if he ran away again or acted up, she was going to light him up. Lisina's been his guardian for ten years and she's tried to do right by him, but it's hard to replace two parents. I feel like she was maybe too slow on him because she felt sorry for him, but then he got out of control and she sent him to the Salvatore School hoping they could straighten him out...I'm not sure I can do this alone, Klaus."
Klaus frowned, "You want me to help? Hayley..."
Hayley argued, "Klaus, I know you feel like a belt is too much, but if I go up there and smack that boy's little bubble butt with my hand, he's gonna laugh. Come on, you heard Lisina. She said he's tougher than he looks. I just think you being there will make an impression. Henry really looks up to you, respects you."
Klaus paced to the other side of the office and ran a hand through his blond hair. "Fine. I guess it would be a tad embarrassing for a teenage boy to get a hiding from his friend's mum alone. I suppose he deserves it. Even as a hybrid, those wolves at the dock could have easily torn out his heart without a thought."
"I'm sorry. I know...this brings back some memories for you," Hayley said quietly.
"Hayley, there is a big difference with what Mikael did to me and this. I suppose I tend to be too lenient with the children and spoil them, which does them no good either. It was so long ago, I should be over it by now," Klaus insisted.
Hayley went over to Klaus and grabbed his hands, "Klaus, you never let yourself deal with it. Did you ever consider talking to someone? An expert? It could help."
Klaus smiled and pulled away, "How about I will go to Rousseau's tonight and drink away my anxieties? But I love you for your concern. Now let us go thrash our newest hybrid."
Hope grabbed Klaus and embraced him tightly, "Klaus, it's gonna be okay." Klaus lowered his head and let her hold him.
Klaus was overwhelmed for a moment by her compassion and understanding of him, he could not speak.
Elijah came in, "There is a young man waiting upstairs..."
Klaus wiped his eyes. Hayley kissed Elijah, "We are going to take care of it together."
"Always and forever," Elijah intoned knowingly. "Hope and Freya are doing their magic. I'm going to scrub the kitchen while all of you are out of my hair for a while."
Henry's Room
Lisina probably told them how many times he talked back to her or disobeyed her. He missed her, but not the Bayou. People never really looked at him there like a real Crescent. Unlike so many others, his parents hadn't died fighting other wolves, but had been killed fleeing a crime scene. But to Henry, at age five, dead was dead.
Hayley walked through the open door first, Henry stood up from the bed abruptly. When Klaus came in, he wanted to throw up.
"Both of you?" Henry said his voice cracking on 'you.'
Hayley ignored that comment, "Sit down Henry. I just had a chat with Lisina. She said you've been having behavioral problems a long time. This isn't the first time you ran away."
Klaus shut the door and leaned against the dresser, "Running away doesn't solve anything, son."
"I know. I guess I am a coward," Henry admitted in shame.
Klaus walked toward him, "Henry, my family ran from my father for almost 1000 years. He wanted to kill me. There were a few times, he almost did...So don't be too hard on yourself. You aren't thinking straight right now. Running is a survival mechanism...but you don't need to protect yourself from us. There are a lot of people who care about you. Let us be there for you. After all, it is partially our fault that you are in this mess."
Henry's voice rose, "I never fit in. Hayley, you know that is true. After my parents died, no one else would take me in besides Lisina. They didn't want me. I was always an outcast, now maybe I can...get some payback."
Hayley's eyes narrowed, "Is that why you are so eager to train? To fight our own people? Henry, you may be a vampire, but you were born a Crescent. Don't forget that."
"The Crescents turned their backs on me! Fuck them!" Henry screamed.
"No, Henry...There are things you don't know. Your parents got in with a rough group of Crescents who wanted to take control of the Bayou. They were trying to get money for guns to take over when they got killed. They had hurt a lot of people. I'm sorry that fell on you, you were innocent, but Crescents have to look out for each other," Hayley explained.
Henry blanched, "I thought my parents were trying to get money for food for me...that's what I was told."
"Henry, it was guns. I am sorry. Now, you need to prove that you can be a good Crescent and vampire through your actions. What your parents did was misguided? Be better, do better," Hayley offered. "We are going to help you do that, hon!"
Henry crumpled, "Why didn't Lisina tell me?"
Hayley countered, "She wasn't even around when all that went down. I am not sure she even knows. Now, let's focus on you. Lisina said you were warned she was going to take a belt to you the next time you ran off, didn't she?"
"Yes, ma'am," Henry confessed. "But I never got it before! Lisina didn't always follow through, so I thought she was bluffing. I didn't always listen to her and I was disrespectful. I guess I blamed her for my problems."
Klaus stepped forward, "Well, we are not bluffing, Henry. You're getting a hiding. Go ahead and bend over the bed. I think you know why you are getting a tanning. You can take down your pants, but leave up your underwear."
Klaus started to unbuckle his belt, but stopped when Henry panicked. He scrambled back on the bed on his backside. Klaus looked to Hayley. She looked more determined to carry this through.
"No, no, no, anything but that!" Henry squeaked.
Hayley went to grab his arm, "If I have to hold you down, I'm spanking your behind good first over my lap."
Henry backed up and shook his head as if he could stop the two adult hybrids. Hayley exhaled and prompted pulled him towards her as she plopped down on the bed.
"A good spanking first then," Hayley announced. Henry yelped and tried to resist her, but for Hayley it was like handling a feather.
Soon, Henry found himself face down on the bed looking at the comforter. He was already kicking and trying to get off her lap before the spanking even began. His pants restricted his leg movement, but he still gave it a shot.
"Klaus, hold his legs, would you?" Hayley asked.
"Yes, ma'am," Klaus parroted. She gave him a dirty look. He laughed and put up his hands and mouthed sorry.
Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Hayley smacked the seat of Henry's pants hard. He was twisting and she had to put her left hand down on his neck to hold him down. Crack! Crack!
"Henry, if you don't settle down, I am going to send Klaus down to get the wooden spoon! Now, stop it," Hayley warned.
Whack! Whack! Whack! Whack!
Henry continued to thrash violently around and Hayley and Klaus looked at each other.
Klaus offered, "Let me have a go. You go fetch the spoon. The big one. This lad is really asking for a sound paddling." Hayley nodded and vamped out to find the spoon.
Henry screamed, "No, fucking no. You can't whip me. Let me go!" Klaus pulled Henry over his lap and began popping his behind with his hand smartly. Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
"You know, these pants need to come down," Klaus said matter-of-factly. "What a fuss!"
Henry wailed in anger, "You motherfucker! Nooooo. Don't... I am calling the police!" Klaus chuckled and reached under Henry to unbutton his jeans. Klaus tugged down Henry's pants and found himself staring at two slightly pink buttocks.
"Where are your underpants?" Klaus blurted in surprise. Henry had a layer of baby fat on his behind that surprised Klaus as the boy was so thin. He looked as if he could take more whacks and harder ones.
"You son of a bitch! I didn't have any clean ones...Don't spank me," Henry screamed.
Klaus shrugged and swatted the bare mounds in front of him. He went left and then right. Spank! Spank!
"You misbehave and talk back in this house and you are not only getting spanked, but your mouth washed out with soap. Such language. Speak that way in front of my brother and you will also be writing lines on your sore behind with soap in your mouth...," Klaus ruminated. Elijah had done that to Kol once long ago. It only took once for him to learn his lesson after Elijah was done with him.
"Nooooo, help me! Stop," Henry cried.
Hayley came in with the large, heavy cooking spoon and handed it to Klaus. If she was surprised by the bare bottom spanking, she did not comment.
Klaus took the spoon and rested it on Henry's right sit spot. "Settle or you will regret it." Pop!
Henry shrieked and kicked as much as he could with his jeans twisted by his knees and ankles.
Pop! Klaus whacked his left sit spot. The spoon hurt a great deal more than Klaus' hand. It was hard and unforgiving. It provided an aching hurt more than a burning sting. Henry's teared made it impossible for him to see, he could only feel his painful behind.
Klaus gave the boy a few more swats with the wooden spoon leaving red marks on his bottom and on the tops of his thighs. Whack! Whack! Whack! Whack!
As Klaus watched, the marks healed and he popped down the spoon more. Tap. Tap. Tap. A hybrid could take a hell of a spanking without any damage. Klaus was relieved, he would never want to welt Henry's bottom or even leave a slight bruise, no matter how defiant he had been. If he kept fighting, they would have to postpone the punishment until he calmed down or find an alternative way to discipline him.
"You ready to take your belt whipping like a big boy?" Klaus prompted.
Henry was sobbing, but choked out a yes. Klaus had learned to trust Hayley's instincts with her pack and as a mother.
Hayley cut in, "Then, show us. Get up and bend over the bed. Klaus, give me your belt."
Klaus stood up a crying Henry and leaned him over the bed after putting down a pillow first to raise Henry's bottom. His pants were bunched around his ankles. Henry's rump was pink in some areas and he slumped over the bed just crying.
Klaus stood and removed his unbuckled belt. He folded it in half and handed it to Hayley. It was a typical full-grain brown leather belt made from calfskin. It was not overly worn, nor new. Hayley snapped it and waited for Henry to take position. Klaus shivered at the sight of the werewolf queen with the belt in her hand and a firm look in her green eyes. He was glad he had not misbehaved in front of her today, for she was ready to deliver a firm punishment.
Klaus whispered, unable to stop himself, "Hayley, remember, he's just a boy."
Hayley took a breath and nodded, "I know, Klaus. Now, let me strap him already or I'm gonna bend you over next." Klaus' eyes grew wide and he stepped back and folded his arms. He had a feeling she was not joking.
Hayley put her hand on Henry's back to steady him and lined the belt over the fullest part of Henry's behind.
"Henry, are you ready? This is going to hurt, but stay still," Hayley warned. Henry whined deep in his throat and sniffed. His bum was already stinging from the hand spanking and spoon, the belt would be agony.
Henry heard the swoosh sound before he felt the sting. Crack! The feeling was like fire being laid down across his bottom. He screamed out. Before he could breath in, it happened again. Crack! The sound was so loud, Henry flinched and then jerked from the pain of the blow.
Hayley saw the red lines she left and the effect she had on Henry. She swallowed and went to strike him a third time and dropped the belt on the bed. This was awful. He was just a boy.
Klaus saw Hayley hesitate and whispered, "I will finish. You can go."
"No, I got this. I'm okay. I'll just do a couple more," Hayley cleared her throat and picked up the belt again. It was cruel to keep him waiting, but she could see he was healing fast.
Thwarp!
The third crack landed lower than the first two. Hayley did the next four lower than that. Whap!
"S-Stop! I am s-sorry," Henry begged. Hayley restrained him again with her hand and gave him another three right on his sit spots. Crack! Crack! Crack!
Henry sobbed into the comforter and she gave him two more on the tops of his thighs. Whack! Whack!
"I love you, Henry. I've know you since you were a baby. We're taking care of you now. Lisina loves you and will be in your life. You have friends and a pack still. You are never to run away again. If you are in danger, come talk to us, okay?' Hayley asked. As she went back and cracked Henry's butt a little harder with the belt. Whack! On top of the previous licks, that hurt.
Henry's bottom felt like it was a flame. He was cried out and lay on the bed limply.
Hayley handed Klaus back his belt and ran her hand over Henry's hot behind.
"Have you learned a lesson?' Hayley asked firmly. Henry was slow to respond and Hayley spanked him with her hand. Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!
"Yesssss," Henry gasped. "Don't ever run away. Behave or get whupped!"
"Right. Do I need to spank you more or are we good here?" Hayley quipped. She rubbed his smarting, well-padded bottom lightly with her hand in circles.
"We are good!" Henry vowed. Hayley considered sending him to the corner for a time out to calm down, but he looked worn out. Instead, she directed him to turn and covered him with a light blanket.
Klaus put his belt on and buckled it making a clinking metal sound.
"Henry, I know that the belt hurts and we hope to never do that again, but you need to know that we do care about you and your safety," Klaus added covering over and adjusting the blanket. Hayley leaned over and kissed Henry.
"You won't have t-tooooo, never a-again," Henry said as he hiccuped.
"I doubt that," Klaus said. "But Henry will we be here for you. Take a little nap, buddy."
Henry was almost asleep. Hayley kissed the boy and left. Klaus whispered that he would stay. He pulled over a chair and watched the young hybrid sleep. He thought about Hayley's words and thought that maybe he should try to go out tonight and blow off some steam. He hadn't been to Rousseau's for a while.
