Things were hectic in 2007, a lot of events happened in this year.

Ben Tennyson vanquished Vilgax, hopefully for good, and obtained the Ultimatrix, an upgraded Omnitrix. The Ultimatrix had the ability to evolve aliens into their Ultimate Form, granting them new powers and new abilities that are more powerful. This was activated by pressing the Ultimatrix symbol as an alien, causing four gray spikes to grow.
The Teen Titans had just vanquished Trigon and the Brain, thanks to the help of other Titans across the globe, but they have yet to bring Slade to justice as no matter what happens when Slade is defeated, he always finds a way to slink away.
Kim Possible has been protecting Middleton from the likes of Dr. Drakken, Shego and many more, and Ron Stoppable was always there to help with her duties as a hero.
Elastigirl finally managed to put Supers in a good light after what happened that caused certain supers, besides the Justice League and the Avengers, to be mistrusted largely by the public. Since then, Bob and Helen joined the Justice League and Avengers, and working side-by-side with Iron Man, Batman, Captain America, Superman, Thor and Wonder Woman has its quirks.
Spider-Man was protecting New York when the Avengers weren't available to help out, but he confronted some dangerous enemies. Such as the dangerous Vulture, the deadly Electro and Lizard, Shocker, the Sandman, Rhino, and the most dangerous enemies in his life, Mysterio, Doctor Octopus, Venom and worst of all, the Green Goblin. The Goblin was the most dangerous to fight against, and when Peter defeated him, the Goblin would end up getting himself killed in a last-ditch effort of defeating Spider-Man.
Across the world, there were rumors of a Hero dubbed, "The Keyblade Holder", protecting London from villany, reports aren't official yet, but people have evidence that there's someone out there protecting Europe.
In the New York Cemetery, Peter Parker was there for his closest friends, Harry Osborn, mourning the loss of Harry's father. The funeral of Norman Osborn was small. He had few friends and no family. Peter and Gwen stood just to the side of Harry as the preacher spoke over Norman's grave. When he was finished, the people began to walk away.
"Dad was sick..." Harry sighed. "A victim of the Globulin Green..." Recently, Norman came across a chemical formula with the intention of using it to increase a person's intelligence and physical strength. Osborn tried to recreate the chemical and used small doses of it. The formula indeed increased his intelligence and strength, but it also drove him insane. He created a Halloween-like costume for himself which he colored green after the solution and named himself the Green Goblin. Unfortunately, this would lead to Norman framing his own son for being the Goblin, but when Spider-man knew the truth, all hell broke loose.
"No one knows how that stuff changed you more than I do." Harry bowed his head.
"I'm so sorry, Harry." Peter said. "I know what it's like to lose a father."
"I didn't lose him. He was stolen from me." Harry looked up at his best friend. "Spider-Man should've helped him. He'll pay," he whispered. "I swear on my Father's grave: Spider-Man will pay." Peter smiled weakly, if only Harry knew the truth. Harry then proceeded to hug Gwen as he said, "Thank God for you, Gwen. All that's keeping me from going back on the Green myself."
Peter looked away in defeat, sure, the Goblin's gone, but at what cost.
"Another banter episode in the life of Peter Parker, Harry's left with no father, but not with no Gwen. At least the city's safe, the Green Goblin's gone forever..."
But little did he know, Spider-Man was about to go from being a Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man to an international hero, alongside with a few teen heroes.
