"You sure you're okay to meet with them Lelouch?" Kallens voice was the first thing the other three had heard as they waited in the old school building for Kallen and Zero to show up.

"Kind of have to be. Besides I owe it to them after what happened." It was a males voice that they heard next, Lelouch's voice, and he sounded younger than they expected. Then again they were back in time to four years before Zero's debut. Which meant that like Kallen he was fourteen instead of seventeen.

"You don't owe them jack shit." Kallen said and all three of the rooms inhabitants agreed with her. Lelouch owed them nothing, they owed him everything.

"Oi! We're here." Kallen said banging on the door for a second before she opened it and her eyes flitted around the room, assessing it and the people inside of it for threats.

"Good to see ya as a pipsqueak again Kallen." Tamaki said grinning at the girl who snorted slightly and grinned back.

"Good to see you're still the same loudmouth as always Tamaki." Kallen grinned back, although her eyes narrowed a bit on Ohgi and Viletta.

"All clear Lelouch." Kallen said as she stepped out of the doorway, that all three of them noticed she had been covering protectively with her own body, to let the boy behind her enter.

"I didn't think it'd be dangerous to meet them." Lelouch said as he stepped through the door and the three adults eyes landed on him and widened a bit.

He was different from what they remembered last. He was still scrawny but now it looked to be an unhealthy almost starved scrawny instead of the svelte he was before. He was also shorter than they last remembered by at least a good head and shoulders. His face, while it was still refined, looked like he was recovering from being guant.

Even though they were in the past before their son was born or even conceived, the married couple were still parents and still had their parental instincts.

"Oh my god you're so small. We should get you something to eat." Viletta looked so worried as she said that, looking at Lelouch with the worried gaze of a mother and she most certainly was ready to drag Lelouch to the nearest restaurant in order to force feed him if she had to.

"What?" He seemed so baffled by her first response it was honestly a bit hilarious but also really sad. They had never seen him looked so surprised and confused which was funny but…the reason he was like that was sad. It was as if he hadn't expected her to care about how small or thin he was. It broke their hearts a bit. That he thought they wouldn't care.

"You look like you are skin and bones. Haven't you been eating?" Viletta was focused on how unhealthily scrawny Lelouch looked more than anything else as she stood from where she had been sitting on one of the old desks. She moved as if to approach him but he flinched a bit, just a small jerk that they only noticed because they were looking for it, and she froze at that.

"Oh…Yes I've been eating. My body is still recovering from the starvation during the invasion. It's the main reason I was never able to put on any muscle." Lelouch said blinking as he seemed to realize how scrawny and thin he looked to them. He had forgotten that he wasn't completely rid of the aftereffects of starving himself to make sure that Nunally had enough to eat during the invasion for at least another year or so. Despites Sayoko's best attempts at fattening him up a bit.

"…Wait…you were here during the invasion?" Tamaki asked his eyes widening as he stared at Lelouch who nodded.

"Nunally and I had been sent here to Japan shortly after my mothers murder while she was still in intensive care. We were at the Kurugi shrine, although thankfully not in it, when the planes arrived and the bombs dropped. Suzaku and I carried Nunally on our backs across Japan until we got separated. We had limited food so I made sure Nunally had enough to eat." Lelouch said shrugging slightly as if it were no big deal and the three adults shared looks. They hadn't known that Lelouch and Nunally had been in Japan during the actual invasion, nor that they had walked through it. That…it certainly explained a lot.

"I should be back up to a more healthy figure and weight within a year or so if memory serves. I'll be trying to put on a bit of muscle this time and learn a bit of hand to hand if I can but given the long term effects of the starvation I won't be anywhere near as fit as any of you." Lelouch said grimacing, his weak body and stamina had given him a load of problems last time even if he couldn't really help it. This time he'd try to mitigate at least a little bit of that issue.

"Don't worry too much about it. You're the brains and the leader. No one will get close to you without going through me first." Kallen promised him and the way her eyes glinted as they glanced at the other three adults, Oghi and Viletta in particular, showed that she was more than ready to protect him from everything and everyone. Even them if it came down to it.

"Yeah man don't worry about that too much. P-5 ready and reporting for duty sir. Anyone try ta give ya a hard time has to face me first." Tamaki said grinning at Lelouch who looked surprised while Tamaki stood and saluted Lelouch. Ohgi and Viletta were right on his heels.

"We…we're with you all the way Lelouh. From beginning to the end if you'll let us. We'll create the peaceful world again, and this time we'll make sure you're able to be there to enjoy it afterwards." Ohgi said although he knew he had no right to be saying those words. It should be one of the more loyal people here in his place. Someone like Jeremiah or Suzaku, well maybe not Suzaku but Jeremiah at the least should be here. After all he had more loyalty to Lelouch than the rest of them combined had in the end.

Ohgi didn't deserve to be here in Lelouch's presence and standing by his side or working for him again. But…if Lelouch would let him, Ohgi would show him just how loyal the former teacher could be. Would prove that he can be worthy of the second in command post that he had once held.

"We're ready and willing to follow you again. This time we'd follow you to the ends of the earth and even in death if that's what it takes. But this time…we'll fix everything. Chigusa Ohgi, ready to follow your orders sir!" Viletta said saluting him and her eyes were firm and serious. She'd do everything he needed her to do and then some. She'll make sure he lived and was able to enjoy the world of peace that he had created once and would do so again.

First though they'd have to reassure him, have to make sure he knew that they meant every word. He looked so shocked and disbelieving and confused by their words that it was sending daggers into their hearts. He had brought peace to the world and died for that…but they had betrayed him. They had no right to be standing here swearing themselves to him and yet they were. Because they knew they weren't worthy. They didn't deserve a second chance. To stand by or behind him.

But they would prove that they were loyal this time. That they trusted him. They would work to be worthy of the second chance they had been given. They would work hard to prove that they were worthy to follow him.

"Alright…thank you." He looked almost as if he would cry if he were still able and he was touched by their gestures and they smiled at him. Even though they were upset over how shocked and touched he was by their words and loyalty, they knew it was their own fault he had been hurt so badly that these simple words and acts moved him almost to tears.

"We should start making plans…but first…" Chigusa, Viletta, could no longer hold herself back as she moved swiftly to Lelouch and brought him into a hug.

Lelouch looked so stunned and baffled and as if he had no idea how to react that it almost made Tamaki laugh.

"I'm sorry that you had to do all that. I'm sorry we drove you to that…and thank you. For everything you've done for everyone." Viletta said softly as she held Lelouch and there were tears in his eyes. Her hug…she had the hug of a mother. How long had it been since he had a hug like this? Had he ever had one? He couldn't remember.

"I'm sorry if I was out of line. Even if my son isn't born yet I do have all of my motherly instincts…and I needed to thank you and apologiz-" Viletta tried to pull away, feeling how tense he was at first, but then he surprised her by grabbing her and hugging her in return as he buried his head in her shoulder and let his tears fall.

"Thank you. Thank you." Lelouch was near sobbing into her shirt and her eyes softened as she firmly hugged him and made gentle shushing sounds.

"It's alright. Let it all out. I've got you."

Viletta looked up and met her husbands eyes as he moved over and wrapped an arm around her while having his other hand on Lelouch's back.

This was a child right now. A child who had seen more horrors than anyone should and had never allowed himself time to grieve or mourn all that he had lost.

This was a child who had no parents or family to care about him…and they were parents to a child who wasn't born yet.

Childless parents and a parentless child.

Viletta realized with a start that maybe that was the reason she and Ohgi were given their memories. Because Lelouch was just that. A child without family or parents or guidance and who desperately needed, no matter how much he might deny it, parents of his own or at least pseudo parents. And she and Ohgi could fill that role.

Glancing up at Ohgi she saw he came to the same conclusion and he nodded once with a small smile while she smiled softly and pressed a kiss to the top of Lelouch's black hair.

Even if they weren't worthy of the position nor deserved it…that didn't mean they wouldn't still do it.

Viletta continued to whisper soft soothing nothings to him, eventually dissolving into humming gently, as he cried into her shoulder while she merely held him.

So she had a son and a daughter right now with the knowledge that she'd have another son in the future?

Good thing she had always wanted a big family.
