All the pilots on the asteroid are in shock on what they are witnessing. Izana- It-It can't be g-gauna. En- How can this be? They then see the gauna with Yamano guard begins to crush it and pulls Yamano out with its tentacles. They see her scared and screaming but before it could kill her nagate comes flying in saving her by scooping her up in the mechs hand and lands on the other side of the gauna. Nagate- Yamano, Yamano are you alright? Yamano dos does not answer and is scared at what just occurred.
The Gauna then attacks nagate and he takes evasive action to avoid getting caught by tentacles. Nagate- Anybody there I need some help. Hoshijiro- Hang on nagate were coming. Nagate- I need you to buy me some time so I can get Yamano into the cockpit. Hoshijiro- Copy that. The other guards open fire with their heigus particle canons they manage to get its attention and draw the gauna away. Nagate then stops his guard and raises the mechs hand and carefully puts Yamano in the back seat. Nagate- Pilot is secured. Hoshijiro- Copy that nagate. On bridge the crew is trying to figure out what to do until Mr. Sei- Captain they don't have Kabizashi at this rate?
Captain- Have the cadets fall back we will provide cover with the heavy mass canon. It will only provide temporary relief, but we need to keep the gauna as far away from Sidonia. Mr. Sei then repeats her order to the bridge crew, and they begin to activate the enormous canon on the back of Sidonia. Mr. Sei- What about Kunato? Captain- Call off his rescue however will assist as much as we can. On the outer hull of Sidonia, an enormous cannon comes out of it locks on to the steroid and opens fire onit. While the guards are engaging the gauna they get an alert about. Mr. Sei-
All pilots are to fall back Sidonia has fired a heavy mass round and will destroy the asteroid in 2 mins. Nagate-Wait they fired what. Hoshijiro- It's a massive cannon shell all explain later we need to get out of here. Nagate- We can't leave Kunato izana give me hand. Izana- Roger. They then get to his location and access the damage. Nagate- His engine is severely damaged we need to remove it and get him off this asteroid. Izana- I'm on it. Izana uses her laser to separate the engine. Mr. Sei- Get out of there you two the canon fire is almost there. Nagate- IZANA? Izana- I got it. Izana removes the engine and they both grab each side of the guard then lift it off the asteroid. Hoshijiro- Clasp formation. All the guards join hands and blast off towards Sidonia and right pass the heavy mass canon fire. The shell obliterates the asteroid and the gaunas main body its core is flung far away from the debris. Bridge crew- Direct hit to target the gauna is falling back.
Captain- We've merely pushed it back. Have the ship they excavated moved to a secured hanger nobody is to enter other than me. Mr. Sei- Understood. The captain then presses a button, and her deck then raises up to her quarters. Crew- Why would the captain only want her to access the ship? Mr. Sei- To be honest I don't really know. Back with nagate they all land safely on Sidonia and the med teams then take Yamano and Kunato to the hospital. Nagate- Are they going to be ok? Izana- They'll be ok the best doctors will look over them. Nagate- That's good. Anyways what the hell was that thing? Izana- It was a gauna Sidonia hasn't seen a gauna in over a hundred years. Nagate- Are they the aliens that Mr. sei talked about? Izana- Yes and the only way to kill a gauna is with a Kabizashi. Nagate- Why couldn't the captain just send that seemed a bit over kill to fire that shell. Nagate then feels a hit on the head. Mechanic- Don't callout the captain like that.
Nagate- I'm just saying. They then hear yelling. Person- Izana baby are you all right. The person runs right by the pilots then shoves nagate out of the way making him almost fall off the ledge and hugs izana. Izana- I'm alright mako. Nagate gets up and says Mako you mean your? Izana- Yes this is mako my boyfriend. Nagate lifts his hand up and says It's a pleasure to meet you I'm nagate. Mako looks at nagate with a disgust look and slaps his hand away. Mako- Don't come near me or izana you under dweller freak. Izana is shocked at what he says then mako takes izana hand and brings izana to the locker room. Nagate- What's that guy's problem? Hoshijiro- I'm not really shore Mako is usually nicer.
Nagate- Maybe he just doesn't like where I came from huh, I'm going to go change and talk to the captain. Hoshijiro- About what? While walking away he replies with About getting to my ship. Hoshijiro begins to wonder more about him, after changing into his uniform then heads up to the dome bridge. Once there he begins yelling Mom, mom you here? Then looks behind him and sees her. Kobayashi- I'm here what is it you need? Nagate- Is everything ok it seemed a bit unnecessary to fire that enormous cannon someone could have been hurt. Kobayashi- I'm sorry about that but I had no choice I had to keep the gauna away from.
Nagate- I understand but still. Kobayashi walks to him puts her hand on both his arms then says Everything will be fine trust me. Nagate then replies with ok and asks what about my ship. Kobayashi- I'm sorry but I can't have you go to your ship until it is full examined. For now, don't worry about it and focus on your studies. Nagate- ok mom. He then leaves and heads to the school, mins later the view screen turns on with a woman with a white helmet on. Women- Mam we've began examining the ship they brought. Kobayashi- Good it imperative we get the map data from the ship and retrace its steps make shore to have it guarded 24/7. Women- Understood mam. Hours later the captain goes to chamber where the immortal council of Sidonia is. Man-
The gauna cluster is three light years from Sidonia which puts it in the level 3 alert sector. Woman- It's the opposite we haven't been able to escape their vast field yet. Kobayashi- I'm well aware of the situation but that may not be a problem anymore. We may have a certain opportunity. Hours later the captain summons the cadets to a memorial park in their black uniforms. Captain- I'm sorry for summoning you all here but we have a matter to discuss. A gauna cluster has entered are warning sector the gauna once again have threatened us. The pilots look at one another worried then she says we cannot communicate with the gauna. The only way to protect humanity is with unconditional force. I have much faith in your dedication as well as your resolve dismissed.
The cadets then salute the captain all except for nagate. He stands there with an upset look with some of the cadets including hoshijiro take notice even the captain. Hours later they head back to their dorms to change then head to their class and while nagate is walking he wonders more about his mom then hears someone from behind. Hoshijiro- Nagate wait up. He turns around to see hoshijiro. Nagate- Hey what's up? Hoshijiro- Just heading to class. Are you ok you seemed a bit upset at the meeting? Nagate- I'm ok just a bit tense about what happened in that battle. Hoshijiro- I see. Nagate- How's Yamano and Kunato doing? Hoshijiro- I heard Kunato is doing ok but for Yamano she has to go psychiatric hospital. Nagate- I don't blame her after what happened she may not pilot again but I hope she'll recover. Hoshijiro- Me to. They then get to class and take their seats while siting nagate sees izana across the room with mako, he waves to izana but then gets a death glare from Mako as he puts his arm around izana. Nagate t forms a confused face then looks away. Eventually the class starts, and Mr. Sei begins teaching about the history of Sidonia while writing down notes nagate hears a girl's laughter he looks behind him but sees nobody. Mr. Sei- Nagate something wrong? Nagate- I'm fine I thought I heard something. Mr. Sei- Very well. As I was saying when did humanity begin to photosynthesize hoshijiro? Hoshijiro- It was a few hundred years ago.
Mr. Sei- Good, do you know the reason why. Hoshijiro- Humanity had lost the food factory it was during the 4th gauna war they resorted to genetic manipulation to survive the crisis the results were human photosynthesis. Mr. Sei- Yes and because of that process we are only required to eat once per week. After speaking he then hears a cadet say although there's someone here who can't then begins laughing and two other students join in on it. Nagate turns around with an angry face and replies with Watch it smart ass. After the cadets hear that from him, they form a scared look. Eventually the class ends and nagate heads back to his dorm to change into his regular cloths. Once done he grabs his bag and water cantina to explore more of the school.
While drinking his water he goes to his locker and when he opens it up a cloud comes out. Nagate- What the deodorant? He then hears laughter coming from students. Cadet- Ha-ha you stink you jinx don't just stand there drinking ha-ha. As nagate puts Mr. Sei then comes out of a room and says hey nagate you don't have your gravity belt on. Nagate looks down to see that it's not there and replies with oh ah. Mr. Sei- Do you know how many died a hundred years ago when the artificial gravity malfunctioned. Nagate- I'm sorry I'm just not use to this.
Mr. Sei -You need to learn about these gravity belts and its best you begin with the basics. He then gives nagate a computer pad and gravity belt then tells him to go to the locations on the map to practice then to return it to me. After receiving his instructions, he sets off. He manages to find 4 of the locations but then gets lost. Nagate- mmm ok I'm lost. Ah why is Sidonia map so confusing. Izana- They usually are.
Nagate- Oh hey izana. Izana- What are you doing? Nagate- Mr. Sei got me do gravity belt basics. Izana- I see. I want to apologize to you. Nagate- About what? Izana- About mako he doesn't act this way he usually nicer. Nagate- Its ok I just think he like where I supposedly came from. Izana- Supposedly? I remember you said your from another universe. Nagate- yeah. While walking he explains to izana. Izana-So you really don't remember how you got there? Nagate- Nope my pod must have had a system malfunction that messed with system or. Izana- Or what? Nagate- Or someone tried to sabotage my pod and change my memories. Izana- Who would want to change your memories? Before nagate could answer three female pilots interrupt them. Pilot- Well, well if it isn't the under dweller. Oh, and the weirdo izana. Izana looks down and nagate forms an angry face. Nagate- Is there something I can help you with you and who are you.
The pilot gets super close to nagate and replies with where are my manners, I'm sakiko and yes there is something you can help me with. She cups nagates cheek with an evil smile and replies with How about you come with us and see what your made of if you know what I mean? Before sakiko could do or say anything else nagate slaps her hand away and replies with No thanks I've got better things to do than mess around with you plus you're not my type and next time don't be so mean to izana. Sakiko with an angry face pushes nagate making him stumble into a room izana manages to grab his hand but can't hold him up and falls on him. The room he falls into is the girl's locker room most of the girls are minding their own business including hoshijiro and En honoka until they hear a loud thunk in the room they all turn their heads and are shocked at what has occurred. Nagate opens his eyes and is shocked to see izana over him and being kissed by her.
Both of them are laying still both still in shock and kissing until he starts to see memory flashes. He sees izana running and laughing in a white dress with black lines, then him and izana next to a river in a forest saying we did it then the last one is izana saying all always love but then the memory flashes ends, and he separates from izana crawling back to a wall. Izana- I'm so sorry nagate I was trying to help but guess I lost my footing and. Before izana continues izana sees nagate in tears and holding his heart. Izana- Nagate are you alright? Before nagate could say anything, he sees a vision of izana in the white dress again then says I need to – I need to go. He gets up quickly and runs out the locker room towards his room with izana and the other girls surprised at what just happened. While running he goes past Mr. Sei, he sees him but couldn't ask him if he finished. He gets to his room locks it then holds himself while crying.
Nagate- What is this, what is this feeling I have. He pulls his shoes off then gets into his bed and pulls the cover over still crying. He then hears a knock at the door then a familiar voice. Izana- Nagate are you ok I'm sorry about before I didn't mean for that to happen. Nagate still crying says I'm ok I just need to be by myself. Izana- ok. Izana with a sad face touches the door then head for her room.
Nagate falls asleep for a couple hours then wakes hungry he gets up and heads for the café once there he sees Mrs. Hiyama. Hiyama- Oh your up glad to see your doing, ok? She sees nagate with a sad look and with some tears. Hiyama- Are you ok? Nagate- I think so I just need to ah ahhhh. He then feels an enormous pain in his head with a flash of memories of his past and Sidonia. Hiyama-Nagate what's wrong? Nagate- Somethings wrong it's like something is trying to change my memories. Hiyama- Hold on all call the doctor.
After Hiyama goes for the doctor nagate passes out from the flashes. Hiyama comes back with two doctors and begin examining him. Doctor- What's wrong with him? Hiyama- He said he felt something was trying to change his memories. Doctor- Something changing his memories how is that possible? Could it be it? Hiyama- Could it be what? Doctor- I'm not shore we need to get him to examination room. They lift him up carefully and bring him to a different room while nagate is unconscious he sees a planet in front of him. Nagate- What is that is that earth. He then sees a blue ship with its outer hull looking like energy hovering over earth then sees dozens of ships fleeing the planet. While watching the ships flee, he sees a sphere looking ship fly by him then disappear. He looks back at the planet to see the energy ship fire on the planet and destroying it. He awakens from the dream yelling no. He then realizes he had been moved to a hospital room and sees one of the doctors in the room but looks familiar. Nagate-mom is that you? The doctor turns around and replies what as she pushes her glasses up. He see's it's not her and replies with oh sorry I thought you were someone else. He tries to stand up but falls over. Doctor- Take an easy your body is still recovering after that incident. The doctor helps him back to the bed but nagate ask her what's going on with me? Doctor- I'm not shore but I believe someone must have tampered with your pod. Nagate- Tampered who want to do that? Then he remembers the old man he saw in the chair then says the old man. Doctor- Who?
Nagate- I saw an old man in a chair when I woke up from my pod, I was going to ask him where I was, but he was dead he must have been the one who sabotaged it. Doctor- You said he's dead. Nagate- Yes, I found him laying on a chair not breathing. The captain disguised as a doctor walks away with a tear in her eye and says I see. Nagate- Was he a someone you knew? Doctor- He was but it was a long time ago. Nagate- Listen can you talk to the captain for me about my ship? Doctor- I'm not authorized to make that call. But all see what I can do. Nagate- thank you. Can I go now? Doctor- You may but take an easy Nagate- I will. He then gets up and leaves the hospital, after leaving Ochiai comes in behind the disguised captain. Ochiai- I see you've been busy. Kobayashi- So it would seem. Ochiai- Is it still intact? Kobayashi- For now but the systems in his arm are trying to get rid of it and reset but that will be quit sometime before it happens until then we play are parts. Ochiai- Understood.
Back with nagate he goes to the memorial to think, and once there he climbs a tree finds a spot and then pulls out a journal from his bag and starts to think about what's going on with him. Nagate- what are these visions I'm seeing first izana, then a blue energy ship and now a planet being destroying what's happening to me. He then hears somebody calling his name from below he looks down and sees its hoshijiro. Hoshijiro-Nagate what are you doing up there? Nagate- I needed somewhere to think hang on I'm coming down. He puts his journal away then begins to climb down but while climbing a branch breaks under his foot making him say in a sarcastic voice -oh crap and tumbles down seven branches until landing hard on the ground with his eyes spinning. Hoshijiro rushes to him and asks are you ok? Nagate with a grunt says all live. Hoshijiro helps him up and they both start to walk out of the park towards the school.
Hoshijiro then asks about what happened in the locker room. Nagate- I'm not really shore what happened but after izana kissed me I saw and felt something. I'm sorry but can we not talk about its personnel. Hoshijiro- I understand. Nagate- Wait did you say locker room before. Hoshijiro while blushing says I did. I was in there changing to photosynthesize when I heard a loud noise then saw you and izana on the floor including the other girls. Nagate- You mean I was in the he stops then realizes where he was, and his face turns bright red then replies with I'm so sorry I didn't mean for that to happen. Still blushing hoshijiro replies its ok. They walk in in silence for a bit until they arrive at the school. Nagate was going to ask her something but then sees mako with sakiko goofing off with her. He then hears all see you later from mako then walks off with sakiko giggling. Nagate- What was that about? Hoshijiro- I'm not really shore but before you arrived, he had been acting different. Nagate- Different how? Hoshijiro- It's only a rumor but supposedly the captain came to him because she needed help with some kind of secret project and has been changing since he's been going. Nagate- Any idea what the project is? Hoshijiro- Not really, I tried asking him but all he did was give me a dirty look and say that's none of your business. Nagate- Dang talk about a jerk. Hoshijiro- Yeah but I hope he'll come around. Nagate replies with yeah then sees a poster on the wall of a village with flowers on it. Nagate- What's this? Hoshijiro- It's the yearly gravity festival. Nagate- Sound fun. Hoshijiro- It very much is. While looking at the poster he hears someone calling his name he turns and sees 4 people walk up to him.
