The next morning Nagate is awoken to a loud knocking at the door. Izana- Nagate you awake? Nagate with a yawn says I am now. Izana-Sorry if I woke you but I want to get there super early. Nagate- I see. Let me just change and grab my bag. Izana-Ok All meet you downstairs. Nagate- copy that. Nagate changes into the only casual cloths he has with him from when he awoke from his pod then grabs his bag but before leaving, he stops by the dining area to see Mrs. Hiyama to get his maps. Nagate- Mrs. Hiyama are you here? Hiyama then walks out from a doorway and replies with I'm here, you're up pretty early? Nagate- Akai invited us to the Laputa yesterday and izana wanted to go super early. Hiyama- I see I hope you have a good time.
Nagate- We will but before we go, I came by to get my maps first. Hiyama- I have them right here. She grabs the maps from where she hid it and gives it to him. Nagate- Thank you for keeping these safe for me. Hiyama- Your welcome nagate. After putting his maps away, he then rushes to the door and says Well I better head out don't want to keep izana waiting. Hiyama- Ok. Give my regards to izana. Nagate- I will. He then goes and quickly reaches the bottoms of stairs to see izana by the gateway with a big bag of stuff and in a black outfit. Izana- Morning nagate, isn't that the cloths you wore when you awoke what's the matter? Nagate- I don't have any other casual cloths besides this and the cloths I was supposed to get are in the wash. Is this ok though? Izana- Its fine. Come on all lead the way there. Nagate- Ok. They then head out with izana leading the way up different flights of stairs until they arrive at a door. Nagate- Is this it? Izana- It is. This is actually the first time I've ever entered in here! She then inputs something into a nearby console then the door opens up. Nagate- Seems like a normal passage?
Izana- This is just the main passage but if you go past this, The Laputa's amazing. Nagate-cool. Come to think of it why did Akai call us over. Izana- He must want to collect information. Right now, the only people alive who've seen a live gauna are us. Your especially are famous because that battle was the first ever fight with the gauna. Nagate- What do you mean by first battle. Izana- That battle we were in was the first battle with the gauna in a thousand years. Nagate- If the gauna haven't been seen in a thousand years then why hasn't Sidonia seeded a world yet.
Izana- Sidonia hasn't found a habitable world in that time. Nagate with curios look says That seems unlikely. Izana- Yeah but also the other reason is the gauna could attack if we try to colonize. Nagate- That is true. Izana- Were here. Izana presses a button then a door opens up and they are both amazed. They see a ginormous beach with an ocean and a board walk with a beach house. They both run up saying awesome and approach the shore. Nagate- This place is amazing. Izana- You got that right I wish I brought my camera. Nagate- Hang on I think I have one. He presses a button and a small camera pop out from his arm then floats. Izana- WOW that's really cool.
Nagate smile then says let's get one together. Izana- ok. They stand together smiling and the camera takes their picture a sec later something comes out of it. Izana- What's that? Nagate- It's the picture. After it takes the shot the picture is printed out.
Izana- Cool. Nagate looks at it then says here you can have it. Izana while blushing says- Oh really, thank you. Nagate- Your welcome. Nagate then walks away towards the board walk while izana still looks at the picture she smiles then puts it in her bag and follows him. After nagate gets there, he puts his bag down then goes down a flight of stairs to a lower board walk and is amazed at how beautiful the sea is that he begins to remember something but is interrupted when he hears a thumping sound. He turns around to see izana jumping towards the water he tries to move but loses his footing and izana ends up crashing into him towards the water. After landing in the water izana swims back up to make shore he's ok eventually nagate come up from underneath.
Izana- Nagate you, ok? Nagate coughs a bit then replies with I'm ok you just took me by surprise is all. Izana with guilty look says I'm so sorry about that. Nagate- Its ok. They then swim towards the board walk and once there they hear a friendly voice. Akai- Need a hand? Nagate- Thank you. Akai- No problem. Once out he is given a pair of clothes. Akai- Here take these to change into so your cloths can dry. Nagate- Oh ah Thank you so much. Aoki bows his head to him then nagate leaves to change. Once done he sees Izumo and Hinata in swim wear looking at his damp sweater and izana introducing herself. Izana- I'm shinatose izana, ah trainee! Thank you very much for inviting us to... Hinata- Why don't we skip the formalities. Surprised izana says ok. Hinata then looks at nagate and replies with this sweater of yours I've never seen anything like it. Aoki- You were wearing only these? Nagate- Sorry it was only casual clothing I had with me. Hinata smiles and says- No need to apologize its fine. While talking they hear yelling coming from the boardwalk. Akai- Yo! Hinata. Hinata- Akai, what did you bring over? Akai-Ingredients, Nagate can eat enough for thirty people portions right? They bring over a big crate with an enormous fish in it.
Nagate replies with The size of one meal for me isn't that different from people who can photosynthesis but thank you very much then his stomach makes a loud growling. Akai- What's that sound? Nagate looks at izana and says - Sorry it's my stomach it makes that sound when I'm hungry and also I never had breakfast because someone wanted to get up super early. Akai- It's all good we had a feeling you'd be hungry and made some sandwiches for you for you guys. Will have this cooked later. Nagate- Thank you. Eventually they eat and then start to swim again. Nagate is having the time of his life with izana, swimming and making good memories. Hours later the artificial lights that brightens Sidonia start to dim down. They gang gets out of the water and start to dry off,
Once dry they change into their casual wear and sit at the table where the dinner Akai and Izumo had prepared. They all dig in and with a mouth full nagate says this is incredibly good. Akai-Why thank you I learned from the best. He looks at Hinata and she blushes at him then Hinata asks izana something. Hinata- Izana how are you and mako doing? Izana-I'm not with mako anymore he never loved me he used me to so can try to know my grandma's secret. Hinata-Oh I'm so sorry about. Izana- Its ok it's for the best.
While nagate is drinking Izumo raises his drink and says To our last dinner. Hinata surprised at what he says replies with Stop midorikawa. Izana with a confused look asks What do mean by last? Aoki- The gauna you encountered has started to move again its flying towards Sidonia. Akai- Us four have been chosen for the suppression team. Two Kabizashis have been prepared, At the soonest, we'll be given the orders to sortie tomorrow
Izana- I see…Is it all right for us to intrude in such an important dinner? Izumo- Don't say that shinatose I was only kidding plus you two seemed pretty cute together. Izana face turns bright ride after hearing what he said and is about to reply when they hear a loud thud. They look to see nagate pasted out asleep on floor. Izumo- ha-ha look like nagate exhausted from today. Izana- Yeah Akai- Let's get him to bed. Akai and Izumo pick him up then bring him to the castle looking structure while the others follow. Hours later nagate wakes up to find himself in bed within a small room he gets up grabs his sweater then walks out. He walks by without making a sound and sees izana quietly asleep through a window then walks out a doorway to the outside then heads down flight of stairs. He stops near a stair railing to enjoy the breeze and then recalls something he remembered earlier.
Memory flash- (Izana- Are you shore this invention of ours is going to work? Nagate- It will we've already tested it 6 times and it should work this time we got to keep trying and never give up. Izana smiles and says I knew there was a reason I liked you. Nagate smiles back at her then presses a few buttons on their invention and it begins to spin in the water and shooting out water at the bottom to balance it. Excited at the same time they cheer and scream we did it then nagate picks up izana and swings her around in excitement then hugs her) flashback ends. He then hears talking coming from above him, he looks to see Akai with Hinata under a blanket.
Hinata- Aren't you scared Akai? Akai-Its fine. We four won't lose to an h-two type gauna but what I'm more scared of is your father than the gauna. Hinata- I hope this will end soon. Akai- Same. Hinata- When were back I will speak to my father about you? Akai- Are your shore that's a good idea? Hinata cups Akai cheeks then says I'm shore Akai I want to be with you I love you. Akai with a smile says I love you to then kisses her. Nagate forms a sad face after hearing what they said about possibly not making it back then heads back to his room but before going back he stops near the window where he can see izana asleep he puts a hand on the window then says I think I know I finally understand what you mean to me then heads to his room. By morning everybody is awake and ready.
Hinata- Thank you for coming last night. Nagate- Your welcome. Hinata- We need to head to the hanger to prepare for the mission. Nagate-Hang on you guys stand there near the edge of the beach for a sec. Hinata- What Is it? Nagate presses a button on his arm then his camera pops and says let's get a picture of guys together. Akai- I like the sound of that. Izumo- Me to. The team groups up together putting their arms around each other. Nagate takes the picture of them together then gives them the photo. Akai- Thank you nagate. Nagate replies with your welcome and is about to put his camera back when Hinata speaks up. Hinata- Waits let's get one with you guys in it to? Nagate- Are you shore?
She then pulls them both over and says positive. Then get into position Akai holds Hinata's hand while Izumo puts his arm around Aoki while nagate and izana stood next to each other. The Camara takes the picture, after it prints nagate takes the picture from it and is about to give it to Akai, but Akai says you can keep it. Nagate says thank you then puts the picture away and says Thank you for inviting us last night. Izana- Yes thank you so much. Akai- Your welcome. Let's do this again sometime.
Nagate- Sounds good. Afterword's they all head out nagate and izana head back to their dorm while Akai and his team go prepare for their mission. After dropping off their stuff izana asks if he'll be coming to watch the mission. Nagate- Later I will there's something I need to do first. Izana- Ok. All see you there. Nagate- See yeah. If I have time all come by to see the battle. Izana replies with ok then heads out, nagate then puts his sweater on and helmet then grabs his bag and proceeds to the room where the mission is being broadcast. Once there he sees all the cadets there including izana, hoshijiro and Kunato. He looks at the screen to see Akai squad preparing to deploy then says good luck guys then leaves. He decides to sneak into the area where the captain is holding his ship but is wondering how to get there. He automatically remembers that his arm signaled him to his ship, he opens up a screen on his arm and manages to find directions to his ship. He goes though different areas of Sidonia until he comes upon a corridor, he tries to find an entrance then sees an elevator guarded by two men in black suits and white masks. Nagate- Great what now? He tries to come up with a plan to get past them then sees a vent and forms an idea. He quickly climbs up and enters it then starts to climb through it.
He comes upon a vent and manages to open it quietly leading to an elevator shaft and says maybe I should have thought this through, how am I supposed to get... before he could finish his thought, a grappling hook pops out. Nagate-huh this think is full of surprises. He fires his grappler and then ropes down; he lands on the elevator and opens up the vent near him. He climbs through a couple of narrow passages and finally sees his ship and the name of it. Nagate- Valkyrie, what happened to you? He was about open the vent but then sees dozens of guards near it. Nagate- Yuhata wasn't kidding about the security. There has to be a way? He then see the hanger to his ship is open and quickly makes his move. He slides down the shaft quickly and out the vents while nobody was looking then rushes quickly to the hanger doors and fires his grappler quickly then whirls up it fast.
He rushes to the door and hides for a bit to prevent the guards from seeing him once in the clear he heads for the bridge. In the ship he sees most of the areas are still intact from being in the ice, then comes across the bridge. He begins searching for clues for that could help him remember how the ship got there or better yet how he got there. He begins to lose hope but then sees a console light up, he goes to it and tries to find a way to access it but finds nothing but before he looks away, he sees a port light up like the ship was trying to tell him something. A small wire pops out of his arm, and it connects to the port, he feels a small tingle then begins to see different file names and notices they have been downloaded. He begins to look through them, but while he dos he sees a recording. Nagate- This look like it was sent years but who sent it, he plays the recording and automatically recognizes who it is then mins later he begins to tear up.
Back with the group the mission was going well until disaster strike, Akai's team had managed to destroy the gaunas main body revealing it core. Akai moves in with the Kabizashi to stab it but then hears Hinata screaming over the coms, the gauna's tentacles manage to grab onto her guard and swing her around. Akai without hesitating kicks in his thrusters and dives in after her, his teammates try to stop him but by then it too late after Akai saves her the tentacles rip into his guard killing him and the last thing, he says to her is sorry Hinata. Hinata while crying screams out his name then Aoki says get to together Hinata we need to take it down Izumo form up on me.
Izumo- Copy that, they then fly into formation towards the gauna, he then was about to explain the plan to counterattack when he sees Hinata's guard fly by. Aoki- Hinata what are you doing fall back. Hinata doesn't listen to them and keeps rushing towards the gauna crying out Akai's name. Her squad mates had to move in to save her but in doing so they ended up getting killed by the gauna. Everyone is in shocked at what has occurred most of them are angry at what happened, and others are crying that their best team where killed. On the bridge the crew are trying to figure what to do until the captain says Fire the heavy mass cannon, Mr. Sei- Right fire the heavy mass canon. The crew lock coordinates on the gauna and fires the massive shell. Captain- The gauna won't be able to evade it at this short distance even if it did, we just need to change it trajectory to get away. Mr. Sei- right.
They see the shell approaching the gauna until it manages to dodge it. Crew- Changes in gauna 487 it avoided the heavy mass cannon and is still on approach, Mr. Sei What that's impossible. With angry face Mr. Sei request to launch the defense squad with Kabizashis but the captain denies his request. Captain- Put the guards on standby for now. Prepare the thrusters, alternate the left and right thrusters and take the helm will accelerate at level five thruster power. Mr. Sei is shocked at the request the captain gives and says Accelerate diagonally the artificial gravity field is only effective up to one g and that's only in the perpendicular direction.
If we accelerate diagonally at level five there will be casualties in the civilian district. Captain- Don't make me repeat myself, we absolutely cannot allow the gauna to breach Sidonia. With a sad face Mr. sei says prepare to fire the thruster and issue a ship wide alert say this is anti-gravity alert Sidonia will undergo emergency acceleration all hand fasten you gravity belts to a nearby railing and prepare for turbulence. Everybody around Sidonia including the cadets begin to clip the belts to any railing they could, most of them manage to while others still rush around to find room including hoshijiro and izana.
Izana-Hoshijiro hurry, Hoshijiro- I'm hurrying. They get to a hallway with railings but see that they are all full. Izana- This one's full. Hoshijiro- Even this one to, we have to hurry there's not much time left we have to find one. They then hear yelling coming from across the hall. Nagate- Both of you over here. They look and see that its nagate to their surprise then follow him to a hallway with a railing he clips on to. Hoshijiro- What are you doing here? Izana-
Didn't you say you had something to do? Nagate looks at them and are shocked to see him covered in bruises and scars. Hoshijiro- What happened to you? Nagate in an angry tone says There no time all explain later you need to latch on now. Both of them shocked at his tone then they do as he says, hoshijiro manages to latch on but izana is having trouble with hers. Hoshijiro- Izana hurry, Izana- Its stuck, Nagate- Oh all do it. He grabs izanas belt then manages to get it unstuck and clip her on mins later they feel the engines activate and the chaos begins. They all are lifted off the ground sliding into each other and hang on for their lives, as they do they see someone go flying down the hall and out the window. Even parts of Sidonia structures end up flying off and crashing into buildings including people. On the bridge everybody is in a panic and trying to stay focused.
Mr. sei- Captain at this rate Sidonia infrastructure is going to… Captain- Not yet were not far now. Mr. Sei looks at the main screen to see the gauna is almost there then the captain gives the order to fire the second thrust. The crew activate the thruster and Sidonia starts to speed away at an angel then mins later the crew sees dozens of red lights lighting up on the monitor of Sidonia's infrastructure. Mr. Sei- Captain at this rate? Captain- Not yet were not far enough. After activating the ships second engine Sidonia infrastructure begins to crumble even more, making the ships citizens fearing for their life while hanging on. Nagate and his friends are still hanging until disaster strikes, a piece of debris ends up cutting hoshijiro gravity line in half and begins to fall. Izana- HOSHOJIRO, Hoshijiro-Help me. Before she could fall through the window nagate manages to swing up and grab her. Nagate- HANG ON TIGHT HOSHIJIRO, Hoshijiro- OK. On the bridge things are still going bad until the gauna stops chasing the ship. Crew- commander- the gauna has changed course it is no longer on a pursuit course for Sidonia. Captain- CUT THE THRUSTERS, Mr. Sei- Cut the thrusters switch over to cruise control, Crew- copy that. After they cut the thrusters, Mr. Sei orders a damage report of the ship, and it isn't good many buildings were destroyed along with dozens of citizens killed. Mr. Sei- Have all pilots repot to the hanger immediately. Crew- yes sir
