Captain- What's the trajectory status of gauna 487. Crew-The gauna appears to be circling around. It appears to be in pursuit of Sidonia once again. Captain- Equip 8 defense squad guards with Kabizashis. Crew- Roger. While the crew gives out the order he captain thinks to herself. Thought (I'm not shore how much more I can bare this, if only project black guard and trinity had succeeded, we would extinguish them already). Throughout Sidonia people are recovering from the turbulence, lots of emergency teams have been dispatched to help with the wounded, but most of them did not make it including some of the cadets. Izana lands back on her feet and is relieved but her joy disappears when she sees hoshijiro holding onto nagate crying and shaking on the ground. Izana- asks if she's ok but nagate replies to her with a no node and izana forms a sad face.
Hoshijiro- Nagate I... Thank you for catching me. Nagate strokes her hair and says Your welcome hoshijiro. She then gets up, wipes away her tears and says Come on we need to get to the hanger, while walking all they see is horror and destruction, with dozens of cadets dead. After getting past it all they arrive at the hanger change into the pilot suits and meet with the others. Mr. Sei steps in to inform them what's going on. Mr. Sei- You cadets will be task with retrieving are lost Kabizashi.
The retrieval squad will be Norio Kunato, Shizuka Hoshijiro, En honoka and Nagate Tankikaze you four will, all other cadets are on standby. He looks at the screen then explains As it now stands we lost two Kabizashis but only one is in range to be retrieved and it's at the very outer limit in which you'll be able to return. If you even slightly miss time your acceleration you won't be able to make it back. Sidonia will not slow down to come back for you. Do you have any questions? Nagate was about to say something but keeps quiet and notices his right arm shaking then grabs it. Mr. Sei notices then sees his bruises and asks nagate what happened to you where did those bruises come from. Nagate- I ah got banged up a bit when Sidonia was accelerating all be fine. Mr. Sei replies with Are you shore It looks like you got beat- but nagate cuts him off and yells I said I'm fine. Mr. Sei- Very well. After sei dismisses them nagate grabs his bag and heads for hanger with his team and with some of the cadets looking at him funny. Mins later dozens of guards are launched from Sidonia forming a grid next to Sidonia. After the crew informs Mr. Sei the defense squad is launching, he gives the order to launch the retrieval team.
Nagates guard is then pulled from the bay and moved to launch tube, once launched he forms up with his team. Nagate with a sad face thinks about the first time he met them and the dinner they had then says Akai and the others all never see them again. Kunato- Nagate what are you doing keep up with us. Nagate- Yes sir sorry. Kunato- Clasp formation, the guards join hands and head for the location the Kabizashi. In the standby room the remaining pilots whisper about how many guards there are while are others are worried if the defense squad can stop the gauna. Izana worries about nagate when she sees him on the screen flying to the Kabizashi until ren says something. Ren- Twenty-seven. Izana-What? Ren-Kabizashis even if we get this one back were down to twenty-seven. Izana forms a sad face then hears chatter over the radio.
Mr. Sei- The gauna is in pursuit of Sidonia once again you are to retrieve the Kabizashi and return the base asap. Kunato- Affirmative, team were pushing up the schedule for retrieval once were in position to recover the Kabizashi will head for the search area at once. Team- affirmative. Mr. Sei- What is the status of the defense squad. Crew- All guards will soon complete deployment. Mr. Sei- What is the matter push them. Crew- Yes sir. The crew then communicate with squad leader to get into position quickly and one of them named samari is working on it. Samari-Has defense squad three been deployed yet? Pilot-Ah very soon. Samari- Stop messing around this isn't a drill. Tsuruuchi- Samari, Akai team they couldn't defeat that gauna so how could we do it and what hope do we have?
Samari forms a concerned look then says right now were the only one who can protect Sidonia we have no choice in the matter Tsuruuchi replies with your right sorry then turns off his screen with samari surprised a bit. She is then is informed that all defense squads have been launched and ready, on the bridge after hearing that the defense squads are deployed Mr. Sei requests a statis update from the retrieval team. Kunato- Were about to arrive at the Kabizashi estimated trajectory. Mr. Sei- Copy break formation and begin your search. Kunato- Copy, team cut thrusters and head for the search area. After cutting their thrusters they separate and head in different directions looking for the Kabizashi.
Hoshijiro- The Kabizashis signal is weaker in this direction, En- It's not over here either, Kunato- Nagate What about you? Nagate looks at the screen then sees a blip and says Kabizashi si-ghted. Kunato- What is it nagate? Nagate- Something just flew by on my raider. Hoshijiro- I thought the gauna was in a different area? Nagate-I don't think it was the gauna it was too small to begin with. Kunato- It must have been debris from one of the guards, whatever the case we found the Kabizashi nagate and En Ronda view with hoshijiro prepare to return to base. Nagate-What? Kunato- Kunato to control we found the Kabizashi and preparing for retrieval. Mr. Sei replies with good work but then hears an alert from one of the crew members. Crew-Sir wait, Gauna 487 has changed it course its heading towards the retrieval team. Mr. Sei-What, he looks at the monitor to see that it's heading straight towards them and says Kunato get that Kabizashi now. Kunato- This Kunato mission complete were returning to base. Prepare for clasp formation, team- affirmative. The guards all grab each other hands and speed towards Sidonia. Crew- Retrieval team has entered return trajectory. Mr. Sei- good you won't be caught in a clasp formation just stay calm and return.
Kunato- Affirmative. The crew then get another alert from the gauna, crew-Sir new movement in gauna 487 its Ena is morphing again. Mr. Sei- What? Crew- were getting a visual. The crew member shows on the display the gaunas body changing into something. Mr. Sei- What is that? Before he could say anything else the captain orders the team to disengage and scatter. Surprised at what they hear the team dos what the captain says but not before the gauna fires a massive heigus particle laser at the team. They managed to separate but not before the laser goes in between them damaging them. The pilots on Sidonia are in shock at what just happened wondering if there ok including izana and ren, same for Mr. Sei and the crew.
Crew- All units have sustained heavy damage En and Kunato coms are down. Mr. Sei-And the pilots I want to know what their condition is. Crew-The pilots are unharmed but their gardes have sustained heavy damage the only one that can be restored is nagates. Back with the team theirs gardes are sparking and making snaping noises from the attack. Nagate- It's no use it won't work maybe if I try rebooting it should do the trick. Hoshijiro- This is hoshijiro there's an issue with my heigus engine. Nagate looks to see her engine activate on her guard then soars away. Nagate-HOSHIJIRO.
Crew-Hoshijiro heigus engine has malfunctioned. She's accelerating in the opposite direction of Sidonia current course. Mr. Sei- Hoshijiro cut your thruster now. Hoshijiro-I can't the controls aren't working. Mr. Sei-Can you detach your rear thrusters? Hoshijiro- No There no response. Crew- Her engine is going critical. Mr.-Sei- Dam it going to explode. Hoshijiro- Pilot ejecting. She manages to eject from guard then is pushed away from the explosion. Back with nagate he manages to get his guard back up and running until he hears that hoshijiro guard is lost, pilot statis unknow.
He begins to worry then hears Mr. Sei on coms ordering him back but ignores him and sees the gauna on his HUD screen. Nagate- Hold on that looks familiar when the large red light appears to be from a heigus accelerator so if that's true. He then quickly grabs the Kabizashi and heads for the gauna. Crew- Nagate has the Kabizashi and his heads towards the gauna. Mr. Sei- What is he trying to do out there? Follow order nagate, tow your squad in and withdraw at once. Before he could say anything nagate yells Mr. Sei shut up and trust me. The crew and even the cadets are shocked at what he just said on the coms to him. Mr. Sei-What was that you said. Once nagate approaches it the gauna fires its cannon at him nagate manages to dodge it but loses his mechs left arm then fires his cannon damaging the gaunas body.
Crew- Heavy damage to gauna 487 Ena its core is exposed. Mr. Sei-Was he trying to cause a heigus explosion. Crew- The gauna and nagate are still on course. Mr. Sei-Wait is nagate going to? Before he could say anything else he hears nagate say this for Akai and his team you son of a bitch then stabs the gaunas core disintegrating it. His team are in shocked that he defeated the gauna including all the pilots and crew. Crew- Gauna 487 kill confirmed, nagate has eliminated the gauna he is unharmed. Crew-attention defense squad nagate has eliminated gauna 487, I say again gauna 487 has been killed. Samari-Wow not too bad that cadet in the tsugumori is impressive, Mako- You're not seriously thinking of letting him join the defense squad.
Samari- Why not he already demonstrated at what he can do. Mako makes an angry face then says Unbelievable and cuts his channel. Mr. Sei- Alright organize a rescue team for the retrieval team, Nagate-Sidonia do your you copy, Mr. Sei-Nagate are you alright, Nagate-Yes, I'm ok. I'm gonna go search for hoshijiro Kunato and honoka will need a rescue team, all keep the Kabizashi with me.
Mr. Sei-What nagate wait. Before he can say anything else nagate gos off in search for her. Crew-Nagate you guard is heavily damage and your heigus particle reserves are low please be careful. Mr. Sei- Nagate if you go any further you won't be able to get back to Sidonia either ignoring a direct order is against protocol. Nagate ignores what he says and keeps heading towards the area where hoshijiro ejected. Crew-Nagate is staying his course he's about to cross the point of no return. Mr. Sei-NAGATE, Nagate- I understand but I'm sorry I don't leave friends behind. The communications go out then the crew says communication lost, nagate has past the point of no return.
Mr. Sei- Dam it. The captain then says You are in charge and presses a button on her counsel to lift her up to her quarters while Mr. Sei organizes a rescue team for Kunato and En he orders the defense squad to return to Sidonia, the cadets on standby eventually leave to go change but izana stays for bit until ren calls her. Ren- Izana lets go, Izana- Right, she then walks with them but then look at the monitor and says be careful nagate. On the retrieval team Kunato is slamming his fist on the console angrly at what just happened. Kunato- Dam it why did it have to be you that was supposed to be my kill, He then sees his screen come on with mako on it. Kunato- Mako how did you... Mako-Kunato I have proposition for you if you are interested. Kunato- I'm listening. Back with nagate he manages to find hoshijiro but not before running out of heigus particles, he mech shuts down and switches over to back up power, he sees her form a distance then quickly gets out and floats to her using his suits thrusters.
Nagate- Hoshijiro you, ok? With a sad tone hoshijiro says yes then grabs nagate hand and then he says let's get back to the tsugumori, then floats back on top. Nagate- Sorry but I'm out of heigus particles. Hoshijiro lets get of his hand and says I know I heard what you said earlier all of it. I didn't want to answer the calls because I knew it would come to this. There's no reason for you to die to I mean you actually defeated the gauna and now. Nagate holds her hand and says sorry, but I don't leave friends behind especially ones that are close like you. Hoshijiro surprised at what he says blushes then smiles. Mins later nagate opens up the cockpit so they have more room but then runs into a problem, Nagate- That can't be good. Hoshijiro-What's the matter?, Nagate- I can't open the heigus particle reserve tank?, Hoshijiro- Oh no. He then gets out while saying all see if I can manly open it. Hoshijiro- Ok, Nagate- Sidonia actually stopped where going to have to do everything we can to try and catch up to it, Hoshijiro- Yes. Nagate begins unwinding to release the heigus collector. Nagate- Man all this work is making me hungry. He then sees hoshijiro doing the same, Nagate- Hoshijiro what are you?, Hoshijiro- Just in case like you said right? Nagate-yeah, Hoshijiro- Ok done. Nagate looks at the collectors and is amazed at it, Nagate says Wow it's so pretty hoshijiro then accidently bonk each other's head and startles them a bit. Mins later they head back in the cockpit to rest and see what they have. Hoshijiro-You have your survival rations? Nagate-Yes, Hoshijiro-How about oxygen? Nagate- Its filled up.
Nagate- We have just about two weeks' worth of water between the two of us. Hoshijiro- And eight combat rations. Nagate- What weren't the mechs supposed to have 2 months' worth of rations for emergencies, Hoshijiro- Well we are able to photosynthesize so that get figured into the calculations, Nagate-That's right I almost forgot. Let me get by to calculate. He goes through how much food they can share between them then says Based on the amount of food and water we have I'd say ten days is all we got. Hoshijiro- I know, but what about your bag is there anything in there we could us, Nagate- No the only thing that's in there some are old star maps and pictures. Any ways let's get some rest for now were going to need to conserve are energy. Hoshijiro- Right.
Nagate then lays back in the gravity and falls asleep mins later then hoshijiro says oh nagate that was really good work today but then recognizes he asleep. She forms a sad face and says to herself do I even have a chance with him, was that vid from his past or was it the future then falls asleep. In nagates dream he sees the dredge mothership again hovering over planet and dozens of ships fleeing from it, then sees the sphere ship again. Nagate says What is so special about that ship?, then it flies by him and sees the name of it, Nagate says Titan, then sees the ship accelerate away.
He turns around to see the dredge ship firing on the planet and recognizes what planet it is, after the explosion he wakes up sweating to the bone he quickly grabs the water cantina and downs half of it then realizes what he did, nagate- Wait I drank too much, huh what the what's this?, Hoshijiro- Nagate your awake? Nagate- huh, Hoshijiro- Hold on I'm photosynthesizing, Nagate quickly turns his head back to avoid seeing her naked and says da sorry, you can keep going I won't look, Hoshijiro-Ok thanks, that helps since I just started. She floats to the front of the mech and says nagate why did you lie to Mr. Sei before we departed on our mission. Nagate makes a concerned face and says I didn't want him knowing what I wasdoing, Hoshijiro- Where were you exactly?, Nagate-Promise you won't tell anybody,
Hoshijiro- I promise, Nagate- I was able to sneak aboard my ship and download info on what happened to it. Hoshijiro looks at him with a concerned look and nagate continues I was started looking for the data on how the ship got there but for some reason everything was downloaded and the only thing I found was a recording, I was making my way out when one of the guards spotted me, I tried to lose them, but they were too fast, before they caught up to me my arm pulled out another surprise. Hoshijiro-What did it do? ,Nagate- It camouflage me to look like someone from Sidonia. After it did that, I had to fight off the guards. I managed to knock out the guards and flee through the elevator shaft. When I got back to the residential area, I heard about what happened and then I ran into you guys. Hoshijiro- I see. Where did you learn to fight was it from your pod? , Nagate- Actually my mom was the one who taught me, Hoshijiro- She must of cared about you a lot if she taught you to fight, Nagate- I was always told that you should never us your skills to attack someone you should instead us them to defend instead, Hoshijiro- I see, Nagate- What about you hoshijiro why did want to become pilot was it to defend Sidonia? Hoshijiro forms a nervous look and says good question I don't remember anymore.
Nagate forms a concerned look but then is startled a bit after seeing her reflection she asks what's wrong and he replies oh it's a nothing, then quickly she covers herself but forms a smile. Since then, days go by with their rations getting low, Nagate wakes up from the same dream again and is still scared of it, Dam it why won't these nightmares stop, he then goes to check his monitor to look at their status and says Heigus particle aren't collecting very fast then checks on the status of Sidonia and is surprised to see it's no longer on radar.
Hoshijiro sees the radar and says Sidonia already, Nagate says Don't worry I'm going to get you back to your home I promise, then goes to the back to get his helmet and bag to go outside the mech, Hoshijiro- Don't you mean our home?, Nagate- Sidonia was never my home to begin with, I need to be by myself for a bit. He then pulls up the shutter between them and opens up the airlock to go out, then after siting he pulls out his maps and try to match it up with the stars. Nagate looks at the stars for a while and then yells ag why is this so confusing. Hoshijiro- You ok nagate? Nagate- I'm trying to figure out these random constellations that were in my bag,
Hoshijiro- Can I see? Nagate-Shore. He gives hoshijiro the papers and she begins looking at them for a bit then says What if they weren't random constellations, What if they were connected?, Nagate- What you mean?, Hoshijiro- Do you have any tape in that bag? He digs around his bag and manages to find some then gives it to her, she then begins taping the pages together until the lines and dotes are all connected forming something. Nagate- It's a soler system?, Hoshijiro- Looks like it but what's that at the edge? She points to a diamond shape object towards the edge of the map, Nagate- I'm not really shore but it must be important if I drew it down.
