After finishing his lessons on earth, he begins to talk about how Sidonia found the kabi they use to defend Sidonia. - It was nearly six hundred years when Sidonia discovered a large mysterious structure. It was speculated that it was constructed five centuries after Sidonia launched in order to investigate more closely a strike team ventured inside the structure and discover the material to penetrate the gaunas core. The glowing elements that could penetrate the gaunas core were named after an old word for a grain of rice the kabi could not be fused with other materials and could not be processed either.
This is the reason why we have a few of these weapons on hand and even after six hundred years nobody has yet figured out who or why the kabi was found in or was constructed? Sakiko says Because the gauna showed up right after he came, what if everything was his fault. Some of the cadets talk among them self's saying she could be right, could he be cursed or something, maybe we should stay away from him if he ever returns then izana speaks up How could you say that about him after he saved Sidonia, Sakiko- Probably to save own skin since he has nowhere to go and Id figured someone like you would try to protect him why don't you just admit that you'll never be with person like him or anybody , izana begins to tear up then goes up to her and hit her until she is on the ground.
Izana- What is wrong with you what did I ever do you? Sakiko forms an evil smile and says because your easy to manipulate when everyone is around and that will be easy for us later then sakiko punches her and begins to hurt her back. The cadets quickly separate the two before they could throw anymore punches then Mr. Sei steps in and says That's enough both of you, sakiko if I catch you harassing izana again all have you suspended from flying for an entire year am I clear.
Sakiko makes an angry face and then pushes the cadet that was holding her off and leaves the room. Ren- Are you ok izana, Izana gets up and replies with no but thanks for asking then heads for her dorm. In the captain quarter things aren't going well. Kobayashi- I'm afraid your objections are miss placed Lala, Hiyama- Don't call me by my first name it's a specially irritating be called that by you now, Kobayashi- Don't be so dramatic, were the last surviving members of the very first strike team in human history to have killed a gauna six hundred years ago. , Hiyama- There's also Ochiai technically. Kobayashi-After we brought back the kabi we became heroes. All though there aren't many left who know about it. That is other than those annoyances of course. Hiyama- I'm shore that the reason Hiroki took him underground was to hide him from the experiments you were doing that poor boy nagate. Kobayashi- If he hadn't interfered, because of his enhancements that boy could have been the greatest weapon against the gauna., Hiyama- At what cost Kobayashi that boy already has a life we had no right to intervene with and how long before he figures it out you need to tell him before he figures it out on his own, Kobayashi- That isn't up to you Hiyama. Her monitor comes on with women in in white helmet and says mam we've begun preparations project black guard is back on track and we have found a suitable pilot,
Kobayashi- Very good I will be there in a bit to see for myself, women-Understood mam. With a surprised look Hiyama says Black guard you don't mean but how did you. Kobayashi gives her a sharp look then turns around to look out the window. Kobayashi- We need to be prepared if we are ever going to defeat the gauna. Hiyama turn around and says you've changed Kobayashi you're not the same person I once knew. Before she leaves, she hears an alert from the monitor.
Person- MAM THE SHIP THAT WAS BROUGHT IN FROM THE ICE ASTEROID DISAPPEARED, Kobayashi- How is that possible?, Person-I don't know one min the ship was fine the next its systems came online and it just vanished, Kobayashi- It doesn't matter we got what we needed from the ship you may go back to your regular duties now, Person- Very well mam, Hiyama- What did you steal from him Kobayashi?, Kobayashi- What I needed. Hiyama forms and angry face and leaves.
Back with nagate and hoshijiro they have eaten the last of their rations and have only little bit of water left or so they thought. Nagate wakes up to get some water from the dispenser but when he inserts it says error, Nagate- That's strange waters not coming out., Hoshijiro- What's wrong nagate? , Nagate- There isn't any water coming out., Hoshijiro-What, Nagate- There's should be some left?, Hoshijiro- The dial is in the same place as it was yesterday, Nagate- What that can't be right., Hoshijiro-The man storage sensor could be broken lets switch to our spar take.
She presses the button to switch over, but it then says that the tank is empty and both of them are shocked, they quickly put on their helmets to go look at the tank and notice a big problem. Hoshijiro- Any luck nagate, Nagate- It's no use, Hoshijiro- What, Nagate- There's a hole in the tank, Hoshijiro- Oh no, Nagate-Huh were out of food and water now. At least things can't get any worse. He looks up to see hoshijiro crying and goes to her.
Nagate- Hoshijiro what's the matter?, Hoshijiro- Are we ever going to make it back, is this the end for us. Nagate puts his arm around to hug her and say I promise this isn't the end for us were going to make it we just have to hope that someone will come for us. Hoshijiro hugs him back tightly crying even more then sees something appear in front of her. Hoshijiro- Wait what's that?, Nagate looks behind him to see his ship appear right in front of him. Nagate- I don't believe it's my ship it came for us, Hoshijiro- How is that possible?, Nagate then sees a hologram of his ship pop up on his arm and automatically recognizes what it means. Nagate- It because I have neural link with it I almost forgot I shared one with it, Hoshijiro- How is that possible?, Nagate- Because since my arm is artificial and is connected to my brain I can share a link with it. Valkyrie must have detected that we were in trouble., Hoshijiro- Valkyrie?, Nagate-The name of my ship. Come on lets whined up the heigus collector and have the tsugumori towed in. Hoshijiro says roger and folds both sides in while nagate goes to the ship to open the hanger door and reels down several winches to hook up the tsugumori.
After hoshijiro hooks them nagate lifts up a handle and tows in the tsugumori until it nice and snug in the hanger. They then arrive at the bridge with the artificial gravity still off and look around, Hoshijiro- Can we get back?, Nagate- All systems seem to be working but the engines don't seem to be responding I'm going to take a look at engines to see what's wrong with them. He then floats to a counsel presses a few buttons and the gravity comes back online then says Come on lets go see what's up with the engines.
Hoshijiro- Ok. As they leave the bridge and arrive at the engine room nagate notices a big problem. Nagate-That's not good., Hoshijiro- What is it?, Nagate pulls up a ladder to look at the damage and says Looks like the main drive system burnt out and I'm not shore if all be able to fix it. Hoshijiro- Wait does that mean did the ship come out here for nothing?, Nagate- No it gave us a chance to get back all see what I can do but first let's get out of suits I know where we get can get regular cloths, Hoshijiro- Ok.
They then begin searching for cloths until they stumble upon a mysteries room with weird items on the shelfs. Hoshijiro- What is all stuff? Nagate-These are all my inventions I made when I was young, Hoshijiro-You made all these?, Nagate- Yeah, id liked to tinker with stuff when I was young, hey I recognize this one. It just like the one from my vision but better. Hoshijiro-What does it do?, Nagate- It floats in the water then you press these buttons here and it spins in the water, Hoshijiro- That's cool. Nagate looks up with his invention and replies with Yeah if it weren't for my friend, we never would be to develop the protype and… he then stops talking and forms a sad face.
Hoshijiro- Is something wrong?, Nagate puts his invention back and says I hadn't told anybody this but I kept seeing visons of someone from my past life I thought I could find her but… Hoshijiro-But?, Nagate tears up and says My ship had received a message from her sometime a go she was trying to find me but… Hoshijiro goes to him and asks but what. Nagate collapse on ground crying and saying but the dredge found her and they killed her right in front of the camera and her last words where I love you. Hoshijiro tears up then gives nagate a hug saying I'm so sorry nagate. With a sniff nagate hugs her back and says Its ok all be fine I'm just glad to have a good friend like you., Hoshijiro- Yeah me to., Nagate- Come on I think I know where we can find a change of clothing.
Hoshijiro- But what about the engine? Nagate-Will look at it after we get some rest, Hoshijiro-ok. Nagate leads her down the hallway to another room where he opens up a drawer fill with different clothes in it. Nagate-I found some hoshijiro. She looks at the cloths nagate found with a concerning look and says What am I supposed to wear these are all for men? Nagate pulls open another drawer and answers her question.
Nagate- Before we change let's take a bath, we probably stink from not cleaning for almost entire two weeks all go first so you can pick out your cloths, Hoshijiro replies with ok then nagate picks out his cloths and heads for the bath. Once there he fills up the massive tube undresses then puts a towel on gets in and relaxes, he begins to think about the current events. Nagate thought- (Why hasn't anybody come to save us did the captain really abandon us or just me).
He wonders on that for a bit until he hears pardon me, nagate look up and his face turns bright red when he sees hoshijiro with a towel around her and naked, He quickly turns around and yells WHAT ARE YOU DOING HOSHIJIRO?, Hoshijiro- I'm sorry nagate but I didn't feel comfortable with taking one on my own on this ship it frightens me a bit. If your uncomfortable all go to the other one, then. Before hoshijiro could leave nagate says no wait you can stay I promise I won't look.
Hoshijiro replies with ok then puts down one of her towels and gets in. While going to him she notices his scars on his back and carefully puts her back against his with nagate surprised a bit even her to. Nagate-So what is it are you afraid of? Hoshijiro- I had nightmares about being on ship like this alone and frighten. Nagate- I'm sorry about that., Hoshijiro- Its ok. Nagate then scoots his hand over hers and I says I promise until we get back to Sidonia, I won't leave your side. Hoshijiro blushes a bit then hold his hand and says Thank you nagate that's so sweet of you. Nagate begins to get out then hoshijiro ask him if she could wash his back as way of saying thank you for rescuing me and he says shore.
Once out he pulls out a stool and she begins to wash his back, while she dos he notices hoshijiro with a sad face and asks her are you ok. Hoshijiro- Yeah, I'm ok. Why do you ask?, Nagate- I noticed you were sad a few times in the tsugumori like something was bothering you. Hoshijiro looks with hesitation then says No I'm ok I'm just still a little frightened from the gauna is all then nagate says ok. After hoshijiro finishes nagate dos the same for her, he carful wash's her back without knocking her towel down, she looks behind at him and sees him smiles at her. After he finishes, they both rinse off, dry and go to change and when he finishes nagate he goes to a room with bunks and start to get their beds ready then hears hoshijiro coming in asking Is this ok nagate?. He turns around to see her in a pink sweater and black shorts then replies it fine. After they both get in nagate falls asleep with in mins while hoshijiro is still up, thinking about something she saw.
Flashback-(Hoshijiro is in the locker room with en getting ready to photosynthesize when her pants falls down and the disk shaped object she had given to nagate falls out then rolls away until it stops and falls over. She starts to go to it, but it then opens up and begins to show something, everyone in the room all look at the same time to see what's going on than see its nagate with someone crying but a hologram of him on a bed then he begins to speak. Nagate-Hey what's wrong talk to me?, person- I,I,I don't want to lose you?, Nagate- Lose me?, person-After everything's happened between us , at the pear, Lem and us fighting against each other I thought you would leave me after those terrible things I did. Nagate goes to the person puts his hand on her cheek kisses her and says while tearing up a bit I don't care about what happened that wasn't you. I want to be with you because, because I love you. The person shocked at what he says then jumps to him to kiss him.
Surprised at this nagate kisses her back, they do it for a while then she begins to lift up his shirt and he notices. She asks if its ok then he takes off his answering her question, she begins to feel his chest then the scar from the bullet he took to the side then she takes off her shirt with nagate surprised. She blushes a bit then tries to take her bra off but is having trouble with it and nagate puts his hands behind her to help then as soon as its off they begin kissing again. Most of the girls including en and hoshijiro are surprised and blushing at what they are witnessing in the hologram as they then see they are completely naked until it shuts down. Hoshijiro goes to pick it up then puts it away but mins later they hear a thud, and she sees nagate kissing izana.) End of flashback, she stops thinking about it and manages to fall asleep.
