Izana-Are you ok Nagate? Nagate tears up a bit and says I don't know. Izana begins to leave but nagate grabs her hand and says please don't go. Izana turns around to see him shaking and crying which makes her feel sad then goes to him hugging him tightly and cry with him. In the mech hanger the mechanics are going over the guards that came back and nagates guard is in worse shape than ever. Crew-wow this is awful. Crew-Yeah, I was expecting more from that pilot. I guess the battle before was just a Flug. Crew-I wouldn't be so shore about that. Tanba-What is it?
Crew-I found something in the mechs mainframe it looks like sabotage. A few days later nagate is out of the hospital and is at a console to figure out what happened he starts seeing images of the gauna they were fighting and explosions then he remembers. Flashback-(Samari-All units prepare to release clasp formation. After we disperse Kunato your team will work to cut off that tail immediately. Kunato-Copy, Samari-The rest will target the front end where the host core is most likely located., Pilots-copy, Samari-Release clasp formation, All the mechs release and go to their designated positions. Kunato-Team watch out for the tentacles and each of you cover a section place your charges at edge of the tail, Team-Roger. Kunato quickly heads for the tail while samari team continues attacking the front of the gauna taking out the cores one by one but in doing so the tail destroys 4 of the guards. Mr. Sei-Kunato you have to hurry. Kunato-This is Kunato I just place my third charge team give me your count. Hoshijiro-I just placed the third one, En- The second one is down, Nagate-The fourth one is down. Crew-Kunato team has placed all the charges. Mr. Sei-Good get those charges ready to detonate. Kunato-Affirmative team fall back. Fire the explosives on my command the timing is crucial.
Team- Roger. Kunato then presses a button saying switch to private channel with nagate and viral program ready for launch by your word phrase. Kunato says team prepare to detonate on my command in 3,2 1. As nagate presses the button a surge of energy comes out of counsel going through his artificial arm and into his body making him scream in pain with nobody hearing. Hoshijiro-What's going on?, En-Weren't we supposed to do it at the same time. Kunato-Kunato to command we couldn't separate the tail the objective failed. As they retreat the gaunas tail knocks nagate mech away with dozens of tentacle going for him then hoshijiro goes after him. Hoshijiro-Nagate come on. Kunato-Forget it hoshijiro don't go after him. Hoshijiro-Come on open your eyes. Kunato-
Hoshijiro this is a direct order fall back. She ignores his orders and continues on. Nagate with all his might tries to reach for the controls but fails to do so and passes out. Hoshijiro without any thought push's nagate guard out of the way sacrificing herself. The tentacles rip into her guard destroying her cockpit then killing her) end of flashback. After seeing the images, he closes his browsing and just stands horrified then punches the screen with his left arm shattering the screen and tears coming down. He then goes to the maintenance hangar to look at hoshijiro's destroyed guard and is surprised to find Kunato. He quickly storms up to him and says Kunato why how could you do this I saved your life. Kunato doesn't answer him at first while looking at the damaged mech then walks past him and says hoshijiro's death is on your hands don't deny it.
Nagate without hesitating gets angry and grabs Kunato by the collar and slams him against the railing putting his phaser knife against his throat and saying Don't act like you don't know. I am not responsible for her death and if ever you try something like that again all make shore the next time you go on mission you won't come back. He let's go and storms off while Kunato holds his throat saying what have I done. On the bridge Ochiai tells the captain some believe that nagates piloting license should be suspended. Public opinion is unfavorable as well, I believe this is blow back from allowing him to pilot the tsugumori which was piloted by Sidonia's hero. Of course, he couldn't possibly deploy in his condition. Kobayashi-We don't need to be concerned about public opinion and he won't be suspended will send him out. Yuhata tries calling him to talk but he refuses to answer and won't eat any food izana brings to him and ends up bringing it back to Mrs. Hiyama. Hiyama-How is he any word?, Izana-Well., Hiyama-I take it he didn't come out again. Izana-He didn't. Mrs. Hiyama-I feel like the captain has been codling him way too much all just have to do something about it in the morning hoshijiro wouldn't have wanted this. You should be there when I go. Izana-ok. By morning there are dozens of new protesters demanding that Sidonia throw down their arms at once after the recent battle and with the recent promotion of new pilots to replenish the front lines including Mr. Sei and yuhata taking his place. While that's going on Hiyama and izana are at nagates door demanding he open it. She then without hesitating punches the door down waking him up from his chair and falling over.
She walks in saying Its stinks in here and what's with all this dust then she grabs him by the collar and says I'm going to tidy up then throws him out. Izana-Nagate. Hiyama-Pull your self together after all you're a guard pilot now. Nagate-I Know that. Izana-Are you ok?, Nagate-I'm fine. Hiyama-Its going to take a little while for me to clean so why don't you two go for a walk. Nagate-Oh but my parts. Hiyama-All make shore nobody takes them and here. She hands him his n7 sweater and says thank you. Hiyama-Now go on get going. Take care of him, ok? Izana-Right, lets go nagate. Izana grabs his hand and rushes off with him towards the town.
Back with the captain Ochiai explains to her while she photosynthesizes that the anti-military activists' group has grown stronger and wish to leave Sidonia because they think the Kabizashis will bring about the gauna and ensure a safe route to the lem star system. Kobayashi- Ridiculous. Very well then those who wish to leave may do so but the war won't stop. We can't rebuild a home for our selves as long as the gauna exist. While he waits, he takes off his sweater and tries to find a place to sit until he hears a bang, and all goes black.
Nagate wakes up to find himself back in the hospital with bandages, monitors and an iv-bag connected to him. He tries to get up but feels a burst of pain coming from his side and makes a small grunt. Seconds later izana comes walking through the door and is overjoyed to see nagate had awaken and rushes over to hug him. Izana-Nagate you're ok I thought you would never wake up. Nagate-What happened I can't remember. Izana-One of the anti-protesters came up from behind you and shot you because they thought Sidonia didn't need you any longer. Nagate-I see ag. How long was I out for?
Izana-You were out for about a week. Nagate-Did I miss anything? Izana-Not really there haven't been any gauna attacks since then but yuhata is the new subcommander. Nagate-Really that's good. Wait is that my sweater your wearing? Izana-Yeah sorry I was just so worried about that well... Nagate slowly moves his left hand and puts it on her right hand and says it ok I'm here now. Izana tears up a bit smiles then says I have to go I have guard drills I need to attend. Nagate-Ok will you be back later? Izana-I will I promise, and all bring some food next time. Nagate-Sounds good. Izana leaves the room and walks down the hallway but then suddenly stops grasping his sweater and begins crying while saying I'm so sorry nagate. Flashback- (izana is at the booth getting food until she hears a loud bang in the distance, and she wonder what that was. Person-Here you go since you're a cute girl drinks on the house.
Izana-Really that's great except that I'm not actually a girl. Person-What?, Izana says thanks and walks back to nagate. She sees him standing in front of her and says nagate I have your food and the waiter was kind of enough to give me another drink on the house but nagate doesn't reply, she asks if he's ok but nagate then clasps on his knees with blood coming from the side of his chest then says izana and falls over. Izana screams his name wile dropping the tray food and runs to him she holds him trying to keep him awake but he ends up fading in and out. Izana-Nagate look at me, Look at me.
Nagate-Izana I don't think I'm going to… He pass's out in izanas arms and quickly without hesitating izana rushes him to the hospital, she manages to get him there and explain to the doctors what happened. They quickly rush him to the operating room to begin operating on him and while they do the honoka sisters see what's going on.
Ren-Izana was that nagate what hap- oh my god. Ren sees izana hand covered in blood and shacking then she says I, I,I went to get him some food to help him feel better but by the time I got back someone had already shot him. Ren-I can't believe someone did this. Izana then gets angry and says why should you all of you abandoned him after what happened to hoshijiro so why should you care? Guilt looks show on all of them then before they could say anything the doctor examining nagate comes out. Izana-How is he? Doctor- We managed to seal his wound quickly but there is an unknown poison in his system from the bullet. Izana-You can cure it though, right? Doctor-We don't know, we've never seen something like this, it will take time to come up with one. Izana-If you can't find a cure how long does he have?
Doctor-Possibly a few weeks at most. Izana shocked at the news begins to tear up and asks can I see him. The doctor nods and leads izana to his room, once there izana drops nagate sweater, rushes over to hug him then cries. Izana-I'm so sorry nagate if I didn't leave you none of this would have happened. Izana stays there holding him then hours later a Nurse comes in saying I'm sorry to disturb you, but he needs to rest. Izana-I understand. She gets up, grabs nagate sweater and leaves, she arrives at the dining area to see Mrs. Hiyama there and after Hiyama turns around she drops everything after seeing what's on izana's hands. Hiyama asks what happened but izana doesn't answer and rushes into her chests crying and says it's all my fault.
After explaining everything Hiyama tells izana that everything is going to be ok then says go clean up and get some rest. Izana dos what she says and takes a quick shower then lays in bed afterwards, she tosses and turns for bit then lays up puts on nagate sweater then lays back down curling up in a ball crying herself to sleep. Days go by with no change to nagate, izana and yuhata were the only ones that visited him occasionally staying the whole day and night with izana sitting beside him. Occasionally others like ren would try to go and see him but notices that he is not alone and would then leave.
One day izana decides to get nagate some flowers and as she's about to buy some her phone goes off. She sees a message saying if you wish to save him meet me at this address. Izana thinks it's a prank and ignores it. After arriving at the hospital, she puts the flower in a vase next to him while asking the nurse if anything has changed, the nurse says no then walks out. Izana sits by his side and brushes his hair and says please don't give up nagate the people need you; Sidonia needs you, I need, before she finishes her sentence nagate goes into a seizure.
Izana yells for the nurse to get the doctor and they quickly tend to him while the nurse escorts izana out of the room. Izana-Is he going to be ok have the doctors found a cure? Nurse- The doctors don't know but they are doing everything they can, but they are proving it difficult. Izana-What do you mean? Nurse-All I can say is their having trouble identify the virus's strands and if they can't nagate may not make it. Shocked at what the nurse says izana steps back forming tears then runs out the hospital, she runs for miles until she trips at a park and falls over into a field of grass. She starts to remember the good the times they had together then pulls out the picture he took of them at the Laputa and smiles.
While looking at the photo she remembers the message that was sent to her, she quickly pulls it up looks at the coordinates and goes to it. Once there izana waits a bit then a person in dark cloths steps out from the shadows and says Do you want to save nagate? Izana-Of course I do, all do anything to save him. The mysterious person takes a vile from their pouch and lifts it up, izana goes to reach for it but the person holds it back and says if you want him to live you will do this for us. The person holds up a tablet and Izana is scared at what she sees and says you can't be series.
Person-We are very much series and if you wish to save him you will do this. Izana-And if I refuse? Person-Then I destroy the only cure here and nagate dies. As the hooded figure was about to smash the vile izana quickly yells wait don't all do, all do it just don't smash it please. The person forms an evil smile, throws her the vile then says good after he is cured, we will operate on you and install it and if you tell anybody including nagate we will kill him. Izana holds the vile tight and begins to cry.
Moments later izana arrives at the hospital and injects the cure. Tears of joy fills her heart and eyes when she sees his vitals improving, she then holds his hand and says I hope you'll be able to forgive me someday then leaves to be operated on to complete the deal she made.)-end of flashback. Eventually nagate wound is completely healed with only the scar showing where the bullet hit and once the hospital releases him Izana takes him to a park at night to help him relax and brings rice balls for him to eat while they sit. Nagate-Its good. Izana- I'm glad you do I made it myself. Nagate- Thanks izana. Izana-What about your scar are you shore you're ok? Nagate-Yeah, I'm ok now. Izana-Good I think we should head back soon I don't want Mrs. Hiyama to worry about us. Nagate-Right, Izana-I am glad you've cheered up a bit. Nagate walks over holds her hand and says It's all because of you izana you never left my side and I'm great full you did. Izana says his name then they both stare at each other while blushing then just as they start to get closer nagates wrist com go off, he looks at it to see deployment orders. Izana-You're getting deployed why do they always have to deploy you? Nagate-I can pilot again. Izana I can fly again but I won't do it for Sidonia. All do it to protect you and yuhata since you are the only friends I have on Sidonia. Izana-I understand.
Nagate-Come on we better go change. Izana-right. They go change into their suits quickly and when nagate arrives he notices something different. On his suit he sees n7 painted on it with a red stripe going down his along with 2 white stripes on both sides of it and black covering his sleeve. Nagate- What's this? Izana-It was yuhata's idea she thought it could help. Nagate-All have to thank her for that. After changing he heads for the hanger and bords his mech. Nagate-This is nagate boarding complete. Kunato-This is Kunato all squad members have boarded. Captain-Nagate your late. Nagate- Im sorry. Captain- Midorikawa get them launched now. Yuhata-Yes mam. All units launch now. Nagate get into clasp formation as soon as you launch you need to make up for lost time. Nagate- Roger and yuhata thanks for the paint job it looks good.
Yuhata-Your welcome nagate and its good to have you back. Nagate-Thanks. Mins later nagate mech launches out of the tube and joins up with his squad, while flying Kunato talks to him through the private channel and says nagate. Nagate-What do you want Kunato? Kunato-Don't even think about blaming me. Nagate-I'm here to fight the gauna and once they've been defeated, I'm leaving Sidonia for good. Kunato-Where will you go? Nagate replies with that's none of your business and hangs up the line. Back on the bridge the crew are able the analyze the video footage and put it up on the monitor, yuhata asks is that human shape then the footage stabilizes and are shocked to see the gaunas look like guards and they resemble hoshijiro's guard then the crew reports it to the squads heading there to kill them.
Samari-Target has been sighted, ah what the hell is that?, Ren-The 702, Hou-The gauna that absorbed hoshijiro. Yuhata-That's only its Ena don't let it confuse you. Secs later the three gaunas all go in separate direction making the squads split up and disperse towards their target. Kunato order ren and Hou to fire the heigus particles cannons while nagate back him up. They firing their cannons missing their target until Kunato lands a lucky shot until they start to hear voice. Ren-What is that voice? Hou-Look what's hanging off of gauna 491. Nagate sees a human shaped life form hanging off it and starts to get angry. Crew-The gauna is using hoshijiro com channel.
Yuhata-The armor and the pilot it trying to completely recreate a guard but no matter how hard it tries to imitate its still a gauna. Don't led up on the assault all teams give me a statis update. Samra in pursuit of gauna 489 in clasp formation. This is Imada squad we've encountered gauna 490 its fast. Crew-gauna Ena warning in Nakazone unit 135 a cylindrical object has penetrated the unit. Just as she finishes her sentence nagates manages to bring his guns to bear shooting the tesla cored holding the humanoid lifeform then shoots his cannon with Kunato coming in for the kill. Crew-gauna 491 kill confirmed one down. Yuhata-Kunato squad back up Imada squad. Yuhata-Nagate what is it? Nagate-All retrieve the Ena specimen. Kunato- Don't. Yuhata-Were in the middle of combat don't go off on your own.
Nagate-There won't be time if I don't hurry let me do this. Captain-You have permission for retrieval. Nagate-Thank you. Yuhata-Aright proceed with specimen retrieval Kunato, Ren, Hou, head to back imadas squad. Squad- affirmative. Crew-Imada squad unit 257 is lost. Crew-It's so fast the guards can't keep up with it. Crew-It's like it knows exactly what we're going to do. Crew- Samari squad has closed in the enemy. Samari- All unit's fire heigus cannons hold back the enemy. The units manage to damage the gaunas Ena revealing its core then samara comes flying in stabbing the core with the Kabizashi killing it. Samara-This is samari confirming gauna 489 kill.
Yuhata-copy that, samari squad all unit's head to back up Imada squad. Samari-Affirmative. While they head to the location nagate arrives at the area with the Ena sample is he pulls out a container unit from his mech and carefully scoops it up then says this is nagate I've got the specimen returning to combat. By the time he starts to head to the area the last unit imadas squad is taken by the gauna. Kunta's squad comes into contact and Kunato begins to panic and causes his anxiety levels to rise making him freeze up. Yuhata orders ren and Hou to grab Kunato's Kabizashi and to work together to take down gauna 490 they both reply with affirmative and charge at it. They both fire their cannons crossing their streams losing sight until it quickly gets behind Hou and destroys her cockpit completely killing her instantly.
Ren then instantly gets angry about her sister's death and immediatly attacks with everything trying to avenge her sister but in doing so the gauna manages to get the upper hand to grab her guard and is about to kill her when nagate comes flying out of now were pointing his gun at the gauna and saying get away from her you dam gauna then as he's about to open fire the gauna moves out of the way quickly and retreats after it sees samari squad arriving. Crew-Gauna 490 is accelerating it will soon be out of rang. Yuhata-Captain our units heigus reserves are below 30% further pursuit won't allow for pro long combat. Captain-Very well abort the operation. Yuhata-Understood, all units abort now return to base.

Once arriving nagate waves from the top of the hull saying up here then izana goes to him. Izana climbs up to see him eating rice balls then sits down next to him with her tablet to look at the news.
Izana-Sidonian troops repel gauna. Hm I'd say that's putting thinks pretty broadly. Will there be an announcement regarding the Ena sample pilot nagate recovered what are they talking about? Nagate-The one the gaunas Ena mimicked it was hoshijiro. But it's not even the real one. Izana- True but their saying one of the three could be alive. Nagate-I doubt it. Izana-I noticed that you didn't show up to the memorial. Nagate clenches his fist and says why should I everyone turned their backs on me after what happened except for you and yuhata though. Izana-I know you feel that way but give it time some may come around. Nagate-Maybe but I doubt it. Izana-Nagate what you said to Kunato did you really mean it that you'll leave Sidonia once the gauna are gone?
Nagate-I don't know. I only said it because I was angry at Kunato, but even If wanted to leave I wouldn't even know how to. He then puts his left hand over her hand and says and I couldn't leave with out taking my friends with me like you, Izana blushes a bit and says thanks. While that's going on Mrs. Hiyama goes to see Kobayashi to talk about nagate. Hiyama-Why is nagate getting sent out on all these missions its not right. Kobayashi-It's their idea. Hiyama-Who the immortal councils? Kobayashi-Nobody outside of the council can be immortal the public can never now we have the technology to live forever and the fact we now have the technology to for more advanced weapons thanks to the Valkyrie but in doing so it goes against the very philosophy of a seed ship.

A lot of people are about to die then pulls out a picture when she was a pilot and with her is the captain 2 other pilots and the great hero that looks like nagate.
Flashback 100 years ago after fourth gauna war (Crew-Were 70% complete with emergency repairs to the out hull the gravity has been mostly restored for now at one g. How ever the core faculties were badly damaged, but it appears environment life support will be back up and running. Pilot-And to think all damage was only caused by two gaunas. Pilot- I'd say the Sidonia was doomed.
Hiyama- Captain we finished rescuing the last survivors. Kobayashi-24 council members and 392 citizens I'm afraid that's all that remains of Sidonia. Hiyama-If the tsugumori even took a little longer to retrieve the Kabizashi we would have been wiped out. Hiroki-Its 25 council members you forgot Ochiai. Hiyama-Hiro you're here. Kobayashi-We've already developed a virus from the old protype ai research Sidonia was working on to suppress his memories so when he wakes up, he will think he is from Sidonia. We can upload it virtually through his artificial arm but to get the blood sample we must open the pod. Yuri-Then I will need time to study the pod and open it safely. Kobayashi-Understood. A few days go by, Yuri still hasn't figured out how to open the pod and the captain starts to upload the virus into the boy's arm and while Yuri is walking to the area Saito takes her captive and demands that he be taken to where his double is. Yuri dos what he says and takes him to where the boy is and upon arriving, he locks the main entrance then turns around in shock at to what they're doing to the boy. While that's going on Kobayashi forms a security team and quickly sends them to the locked door, mins later Hiyama arrives asking why Saito took shinatose hostage then one of the guards says were getting audio now. Yuri- You can't do that if we stop the program now while its uploading, he may not recover. Saito-You have no right to do anything to this boy. Hiyama-What's going on Kobayashi what he's talking about don't tell me you were trying to make a clone of Hiroki.

As the door opens, they see Saito holding Yuri hostage with the pod floating behind him then he starts to walk down with the guards drawing their sword preparing to defend themselves. Hiyama begs Saito to put the sword down and orders the guards not to move but they ignore her and start to move in by Kobayashi orders.

Kobayashi makes angry face then Saito tosses Yuri over to Hiyama and says This boy doesn't belong to you don't infer. The guards begin to attack but before they could do anything the pod begins to play a hologram from the boy memories. Boy-Are we all going in that wow.
Kobayashi-Nagate I have to go in a different ship, I have to go away for a while. Nagate-No mom no. Kobayashi-Lala is going to look after you two. Nagate-But I wanna go with you. Kobayashi-I know but its not safe where I'm going. Nagate-I don't care. Kobayashi responds to a person calling her name then takes off her ring and says nagate here take this as long as you wear it there's hope then picks him up kiss him on the cheek and says I will see you again I promise then the memory ends. Hiyama-This changes everything. Kobayashi-It doesn't.
Hiyama-Yes it dos how could you do that to an incent boy. Kobayashi responds I um, Hiyama without hesitating quickly runs and knock out some of the guards with Kobayashi frighten a bit then says Hiroki run take the boy away protect him. Saito-I will Thank you Hiyama. Saito quickly grabs the pod and disappears underground to fix nagate memories. Hiyama-It is difficult to find anybody who wanders inside Sidonia's many old organic converter reactors but that was the last time Hiroki was seen.) -present day Hiyama is sweeping the floor still with an upset face. Izana had gotten nagate just as he was about to go to bed because she thought he could help cheer her up a bit. Izana-Nagate come on hurry. Nagate looks through the doorway and says Yeah ok but keep out of site if this goes sideways. Izana-Ok. Nagate goes up to her slowly with izana quietly cheering then he says Mrs. Lala. Hiyama-Hiroki. Nagate-Huh?, Izana-What that's weird she usually goes crazy when you call her by her first name. Nagate-Who's Hiroki was he a friend of yours? Hiyama-A long time ago he was wait did someone put you up to calling me by my first name? Nagate with a guilty look says no of course not it was all me. Hiyama looks at him with a questionable look then turns to see izana in the hallway then she gets angry, and yells GET OVER HERE IZANA GRAAH with nagate plugging his ears. Close by yuhata is working on her models when it happens and accidently get glue over the joint. She wonders what the noise was then looks out her window to see Hiyama dangling izana outside.
Izana apologizes deeply to her but while she dos nagate makes a frighten face then yells ARE YOU CRAZY and quickly reaches out and grabs izana hand. Surprised at his reaction Hiyama carefully brings in izana sets her down then nagate hugs izana tightly. Nagate-You could have dropped izana. Hiyama-I only did so she wouldn't do that again. Nagate-But you didn't have to go that far. Come on izana lets head back to bed. Izana-ok. Can I hold your hand a bit? Nagate-shore, they leave both hand in hand with Hiyama sad and happy at the same time. When they get to their dorm nagate says I'm sorry Hiyama did that to you. Izana-Its ok Its just I didn't think shed react like that, but I was more surprised at how you reacted. Nagate holds both her hands then says I couldn't bare to lose a friend like you then hugs her then izana hugs him back tearing up a bit then secs later they say good night to each other and go to sleep.
